Elrandir 783 Posted May 23, 2017 - Rabiyu - Raiden's Study -While Rabiyu was following Alastor towards Raiden's study she took notice of the faint noise coming from somewhere in the house. The smell of good food was in the air, and the sound of voices. For a split second she caught a glimpse of the guests, and yet there was something more important than the humans that were currently in the house. Alastor said that Raiden didn't liked useless talk, and that was fine with her, she was going to go straight to the point, that was what she liked of those around here, they went straight to the point too. Once inside the study Rabiyu quickly took a look around the room, and the fey himself. It looked like Alastor and Raiden had a good relationship, that was good."Greetings, Your Lordship," Rabiyu said with a polite bow, " As you may already know, my name is Lady Eliltari of House Ëar, daughter of former Judge Magister, Lady Ethiriel of House Ëar. Judge at the service of the Northern continent and to His Highness, King Asura, and his honorable wife, Lady Leviathan."Rabiyu was looking straight at Raiden, although she couldn't see his face. She was unable to see his reactions."I was ordered to find out the reason as to why you are attempting to open the barrier between worlds, previously casted by late King Alexander to keep humankind in the world below," She said calmly, "I was told to learn of your reasoning and to report my findings to my superiors. Then they would decide one of three options. First, to offer the help of the North to accomplish your goal. Second, I return and the North remains neutral. Third, my superiors support Shiva, whatever her plans may be. The third option is currently the least probable one, as one of my superiors wishes to avoid any dealings with the Queen of Ice."At this point Rabiyu also was wondering about Midnea, what was her purpose and her goals."There is also the fact that you are currently playing host to one ex-ruler by the name of Midnea," Rabiyu said while looking at her side, "The Black Witch is a disease that needs to be taken care of before it can turn into a lasting issue. I think you are aware of what we faced, correct? A supposedly extinct creature, who posed as a knight in red armor. A Doom Hound."The High Elf once again focused on the fey and stared."I ask thee, Your Lordship, please explain your motives to open the barrier and let humankind in," Rabiyu said to Raiden, "I mean no disrespect, Your Lordship, but I would appreciate the honest truth from you, just like I am being honest with you and those at your charge. Vaude 536 Posted May 24, 2017 (edited) - Raleigh Marin, in the grand hall of Raiden's villa near Mystras - Raleigh kept her eyes moving between her own mound of food on her provided plate and Ren's. If she didn't conclude that the man was half-starved, she could have thought it was an eating challenge. In fact, she essentially did, and readied her stomach with a gourmet's resolve. However, some conversation was thrown in as well, and some of it regarded her origins. It intrigued her that he too knew about the humans even if his earlier appearance was as if he were a vagabond or a prisoner of war. She doubted it would harm anything if she answered in the positive that she was a human. He was with Raiden earlier, after all. "Yes, I am with this bunch for the moment. I'm a merc and go where the money is, having not found a person yet worthy of my devoted services. Perhaps that would change, but for now I'm free." A quick grin flashed from her towards the young man across the way while she reraised her spoon. "However, while the world has its problems down where I live, it's not a mess. There are good places and bad places. You just have to know where to look for the good ones." She eyed him curiously, observing his fair features and studying the fine weave of his cloak. Everything seemed particularly alien about the man, and she had not often had the chance to speak with somebody from this world. Now was as good as any to strike up a conversation. "I'd like to ask a question about this world, actually. I have seen some of it, but are all fey, I don't know, special? And why and how does your world float? Also, what kind of person are you if you are a fey?" This was an onslaught of questions, but every one of them grabbed at her interest. She felt as excited as she was as a child, snatching up tales of fey and mythology from anyone willing to regale her with stories, but this time they were real. Real fey, real fairy tales -- the butterflies in her stomach churned still at the thought. - Lord Raiden, in Raiden's villa in the reading study with Alastor and Rabiyu - Raiden cast a search magic before the door opened wide, catching that the knocker and his companion was indeed Alastor and another individual. His eyes fluttered open, and he settled his recently wrung hands onto the arms of his leather chair and lifted himself up. As ever, Alastor never ceased to amuse him as a good friend and ally with his lack of formality between the two of them, but the woman with him kept him on edge. There was no use lying to her, much like the Infiltrator had guessed, and he was not going to do so. However, that did not mean he would fully be open. "Oh, a few times," he murmured, moving his head an inkling to show a faint grin, "but you know me. I always dreamed of being an arsonist." He shifted his eyes over to Alastor's companion, puzzling over where he had seen the girl and not quite placing where. He easily recognised her title, however. "And you must be the Lady of the MIsts. Your reputation precedes you, though it is the first I have heard of you being an envoy and Judge of the northern continent. Do please have a seat, or stand if it suits you. We have much to discuss, as you have pointed out. I will warn you in foreword, however, that if word of any of this reaches anyone's ears besides the rulers of the North there will be retribution. If that is clear, I will begin." Offering Rabiyu and maybe Alastor to take seats, either the armchair or the less comfortable guest chairs close to either of the sidewalls, he waited a short while and stood clear of obstacles. The sounds of mumbled ancient words could be heard from him before he continued. Their senses considered, both of his fellow conversationalists might understand that a soundproof bubble expanded from wall to wall and floor to ceiling. Extra care must be considered when prying ears could be nearby, and only those in the room could hear the conversation at hand. "First I will discuss this ghostly prelude to a new chapter of history. I intend to change matters which have lasted for just short of a couple dozen centuries. The separation of our two worlds with a barrier provided us the ability to thrive, but we have more than stabilised our people, and the world below's human society is far worse off. I aim to integrate the two societies and dissolve the barrier. However, I fear that the possibility is not as easy as I predicted. "This Black Witch, as you call her, is one such miscalculation. I can only agree she is a threat, as her pet has ensured, but striking against her currently bars the way to a long-lasting peace. She acts as the sole advisor to a leader of the world of men, and--odd to say--she is trusted by him. Both have taken residence here for the moment, but will be sent away back to their world for an indeterminate time. Another is the origin of the barrier. It cannot be fully removed without immediate correction, and besides this the complete removal has grave and unforeseen consequences, upon which I can elaborate on neither." Elrandir 783 Posted May 24, 2017 - Rabiyu - Raiden's Study -Rabiyu nodded at the Fey's warning before taking a seat in one of the guest chairs and patiently listened to him."I ask that you forgive my bluntness, Your Lordship, but what would be the point of joining Feys and Humans?" Rabiyu asked calmly, "Last time humans came to our world they brought war and suffering to many feys. There is also the fact that I feel that there are other reasons, but If you do not wish for them to be known then I will not inquire further."The way Raiden worded that statement made Rabiyu wonder how much he actually knew about the barrier and its workings. She wasn't waiting for full answers, that would have to do."I find it hard to believe that the Black Witch will allow anything to stand in her way now that she is back. Perhaps she is plotting her next move right now, another attack, maybe? somewhere you, or anyone else, wouldn't notice, " She said while looking absentmindedly around the room, "If she is under your watch, then we of the North will not object. I also have my worries about this human leader, but if you invited him to your home, then I suppose you are aware of his capabilities, in which case we will leave him be."The High Elf then looked at Raiden once again, her eyes never showing any hint of hostility or bad will, instead, they were filled with a deep calmness."If I understand correctly your goal is to join both Fey and Human societies, correct? and by fully opening the barrier the human world would be on its road to thrive, just like we have done for thousands of years." Rabiyu said quietly, "I understand. I suppose this information could be enough for my report. I just wish to ask, is there anything else you wish to tell me, Your Lordship? Anything else that you think could sway the gaze of the King of Kings and the Tide Mother towards your cause, that would be greatly appreciated."
Endless Thundaga 533 Posted May 24, 2017 Bherna Lao-Kilkes Seres castle As soon as the trio enter the castle, Takao takes Xion and Bherna's hands and darts through the castle. Bherna tries to let Takao know where Shiva might be. "If she is in this castle, then she'd most likely be in her office. We're going to have to climb a few stairs." She then takes the lead. After two large flights of stairs, they manage to reach the entrance of Shiva's office, which was guarded. The guard raises his hand. "Halt. Identify yourself." Bherna walks forward. "I am Bherna, Prince Jynn's daughter." The guard examines Xion and Takao before allowing them access. "Yes, Jynn mentioned you were supposed to stay within the city for now. You may enter." Dawson-Flowering Hyssop with Alicia Dawson was impressed by Alicia's claims. "A Rajang huh? That's quite an impressive feat. Me and the Prince fought one as well, but back in the day, when it came to hunting, Jynn had to take everything a step further. He took on a Rajang, and a dreaded Deviljho at the same time, by himself." He takes another drink from his glass. "But the biggest accomplishment I've made by myself is just a Deviljho. I hate those creatures, they would have a doom hound for breakfast, thankfully their numbers are dwindling."

Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted May 25, 2017 --Curvis Sourati -- Dining Room: Raiden's Villa-- The cupcakes? Curvis decided to take a mental note of this. Perhaps he could persuade Raleigh to speak with him over one of these delightful treats. The brunet further listened as Soren explained his difficult position, and that he was not spying on them after all. He nodded, arm resting along the length of the table. "I suppose that is understandable," Curvis responded. He didn't really know how to proffer his opinion when Soren asked for it, however. Truthfully no one ever cared to know what he thought of anything. The soldier merely did as he was told and nothing more. The thought of being important did perk him up, though, and he did his best to form together a response that he'd hoped would suffice for the sentinel. "I think it is very important to follow your inner gut in times like these," he said. "Sometimes people's words and actions can confuse us from the bigger picture. What does your heart tell you? What do you feel is right?"--he hesitated, as though knowing in advance his words would appear biased--"of course, I cannot claim to support Queen Shiva, as she wants all of the World Below to perish and the humans with it. Lord Raiden seemed like a good man, and I liked him, though today I cannot help feeling that he seems different than before, or at least his approach." He further listened to what Arthur had to say, and agreed with much of it. While it was true that he remained a skeptic about Raiden's decisions until he saw a positive outcome, there was no doubt that Raiden was trying to do what was best for his people, and that his actions reflected it. Sometimes he felt Arthur saw more reason in situations than himself, always quick to jump to the worst possible outcomes. Before Curvis could further inquire about Soren's predicament, however, he noticed that Soren's attention was attracted to Raleigh and her new friend. Why did everyone seem to have such an interest in her? he couldn't help but furiously think to himself. --Ren Mordecai -- Dining Room: Raiden's Villa-- Ren calmly drank from his goblet as Raleigh spewed forth all of her many questions. Eventually he sat it down, closing his eyes for several moments as he thought about his response for her. "That must've been quite the mouthful," he said to her in a nonchalant manner. "Have you been brewing all of these questions together since you've arrived here, and I'm just the lucky soul that gets to answer them? Lucky for you"--he flashed her a wide grin, leaning across the table slightly--"I'm a scholar and the right person to ask, so you needn't search any further for the answers you seek!" He chuckled slightly, knowing that he had the flair for the dramatic, at least in that particular moment. He fixated his dark eyes to bore into Raleigh's unblinkingly for what seemed like an unnatural length of time. "There are many species of fey," he explained. "As you've undoubtedly seen in Mystras, no two fey are necessarily alike. Some are winged, whereas others are not. Most walk on two legs, but they don't always choose to do so. I am a descendent of a dragon tribe, whereas others are elven, fairies, spriggan--the list goes on and on. As you'll notice I appear very much as yourself: human in almost every way, and without my magic one could perhaps mistake me for a man of your kind. I don't know enough about your fairy tales down in your world, but I would imagine that a lot of them contain a bit of truth. Our worlds were not always divided the way that they are now. "As for the reason our continent floats"--he smirked with amusement as he reached for a pastry with some kind of jam filling--"I should think that obvious, but it is with magic. I suppose, in theory, if one were to drain all of the magic from this world we would come crashing down on all of you fine people in the night when your children are soundly asleep in their beds, but surely this wouldn't happen, so don't worry about it." He seemed to ponder Raleigh's question carefully as he thoughtfully chewed the pastry in several bites before swallowing. "I'll have to research it," he added as an addendum. "Lastly, well, actually never mind; I answered that question for you first. Now then, for my own onslaught." He brushed his hands together to wipe off leftover crumbs before enthusiastically leaning across the table to get as close to Raleigh as he could. Thankfully he had changed clothes and showered upon his arrival, else he might've smelt as bad as a wendigo. "Roughly how many buildings comprises your world? How many square feet is your kingdom? I tried to acquire such information during my time down there, but sadly was unable to obtain any records, and I certainly wasn't going to measure anything myself. Is it true that Beauty met a beast in an unknown kingdom, or is that just a myth? It is a lovely tale, but I've always doubted its authenticity." He rose his goblet to take another sip, and upon doing so he spotted a familiar man at a table opposite him. This nearly caused him to drop the goblet, and its contents within. The sight of Soren was both warming and heavily concerning. He once thought Soren as a friend, but if he were here, did this mean . . . that he was being followed by the queen? --Everyth Castanova -- Sondon Courtyards-- The mage was confused by Roger's lack of response and--seemingly--understanding, though glanced over when she heard the princess's voice cut through the air. She turned on heel to find Visco rushing over to them, panic seizing her voice and demeanor. Everyth cupped her small pallid face in her hands tenderly, as a mother would do her child. "I am so glad that you're safe," she murmured, though the matter remained that Effie was not. Roger rushed off, most likely to fend the creature off his niece. After her previous encounter with Pracia she knew that she was no match for the punisher, causing her to consider Visco carefully. She knelt upon one knee, holding the princess's hands as she turned her face up to hers. "Dear princess," she spoke, voice soft. "We must get you to safety. I've vowed to protect you with my life, as has Effie, and therefore we must. Effie's uncle has gone to her aid, and he is the best hope that we have. Our returning to Effie's side will do no good, but instead cost us all our lives, rendering Effie's sacrifice in vain. You wouldn't want that, surely, would you?" Her expression softened as she rose from the ground, readjusting the sword at her waist. "Please, come. If not for me, but for Effie, your father, and all of Sondon." She didn't wish to carry the princess kicking and screaming (because that sure wouldn't be any fun), but she was prepared to do so if she must. --Alderon Niles -- Raiden's Villa: Private Suite-- Alderon's eyes did not move from Midnea's as she spoke, explaining her take on the situation as well as her master plan. A deep sigh escaped the king as he rose from his chair, hands clasped behind his back as he strolled over toward the window. The sun was truly beautiful from their position in the Overworld. It had fully risen, perfectly perched between twin clouds that drifted peacefully in the cerulean sky. For what seemed the first time, Alderon felt its warmth kiss his face, giving him an energy within that he'd never quite felt before. Was this what it meant, to live in a prosperous world with opportunity? He couldn't deny his daughter this, not after everything she'd been through. "Yes," the king said slowly, his gaze remaining upon a tree surrounding by chirping cockatiels outside of his window. "Let us speak with Lord Raiden upon this matter. I think your plan is the best one we have." Finally he turned around, offering her the slightest of smiles. He moved toward her, giving her a peck on the cheek before proffering his hand to help her rise. "I think he may have time for an audience soon. He did say that he wished to speak with me." Stardustblade358 806 Posted May 25, 2017 -Morana - At Kilkes Seres sensing a mysterious figure - Rufus, Mikhail, Typhon, Aqua, Jari, Elia and Yev-Morana paused her eating some ice cream as she felt chills go down her spine. She paused, glancing around before turning back to the group. "You guys go ahead to the castle grounds. I'll catch up with you guys in a few moments. There's...something I need to check upon." Morana said as she gave a small bow. With that, she turned on her heels, and walked away, quickly losing herself among the crowd. She followed the scent that had been pricking at her for the past few minutes, walking across the crowds of the market before following it into an alleyway. "Come out now. I know you're in there." Morana said, stepping forward. "Your stench is hard to ignore. You've been following me since the fight. What do you want?" Morana asked, hissing as she glared at the shadows of the alleyway.-Arthur - Raiden's Villa - Breakfast with Curvis and Soren- Arthur offered Curvis a cupcake as he ate his own. Visco would love these, he thought. If only she could have come with them. She must be bored down there on her own, if not ever so busy taking over while her father was here. Arthur paused and looked around, following Soren's and Curvis' gaze to the lovely lady known as Raleigh. He glanced back at Curvis as he cleaned his mouth from any remaining frosting. "She's been quite popular since arriving, hasn't she?" Arthur hummed. He gently nudged at Curvis, giving him a mischievous smile. "You better make your move soon before someone else steals her heart away." He teased. He had absolutely no idea if he had any feelings whatsoever for her, but he couldn't help but to tease about it. To lighten the mood, if you will. He turned his gaze back to the red haired fey that spoke to Raleigh...and how his gaze landed right on Soren, unmoved and unwavering. Arthur looked up to Soren. "Friend of yours, sir Soren?"
Elrandir 783 Posted May 26, 2017 - Aeternum Siblings - Courtyard of Kilkis Seres -"I agree with Henry, Your Highness. Helios is a good person, do not let that be taken away from him, " Aurion said to Jynn while ruffling Helios' hair, " And we want him to stay like that for years to come. And we want him to stay like that for years to come, however long that may be."Aura looked at Henry for a few seconds, perhaps she had imagine it, but didn't Henry's eyes....Nah, problably a mistake on her part."And we wish you good luck, Helios," Aura said to the fey, "Perhaps one day we will be able to come back, when this situation changes, and you could show us more about this world."The Siblings then looked at Meksis, this one was very different than the other guy, which was good for them, and apparently he respected Henry, that actually surprised both Aurion and Aura, but they were happy that at least one fey respected Henry.- Sifrei Mond - Royal training grounds of Sondon Castle -Some of the rubble went straight towards Sifrei now that the Punisher was gone, it came to no surprise that the rocks were flying right through Sifrei, at least that's what it looked like to anyone watching, the truth was that he moved quite fast to dodge. The Archangel jumped and once he was above Pracia he thrusted his spear down, which got stuck in the ground in front of the Punisher, barely inches away from her. Sifrei was crouching at the top of the spear while looking at the other fey."So, you have been watching me? Not that hard for someone with eyes, " Sifrei said to Pracia, "And here I thought you were more focused on trying to murder the little Princess, and those other three, of course."If one looked really hard to the shadow that Sifrei was casting on the ground, they could have seen how three giant pair of wings spread from his back, only to disappear seconds later, maybe those with a connection with the arcane would have seen a flickering silhouette for a couple of seconds. Pracia, on the other hand, would see how Sifrei spreaded his real wings, maybe blinding her while the sun was behind Sifrei's back."Orders? What orders? This intrigues me. I doubt I have knowledge about ANY of the esteemed rulers who could have ordered such an act," Sifrei said as he looks at Pracia, " Which begets the question, who order you to come here? Us Fey were forbidden to set foot on the world below once King Alexander casted and closed the path between worlds."There were other forces at work here. Caligo had Asura and Leviathan. Kilkes Seres had Shiva, and Raiden to some extent. And other rulers from other continents, but who gave the order to attack humans as soon as the barrier was breached. This woman had to be dealt with, or else there was going to be huge problem between humans and fey, not that it would be the first time for both, or for Sifrei."I think the answer would be obvious, but if it's not then let me answer that question," Sifrei said calmly, "I wanted to. You were trying to murder someone, and I helped them, simple as that. Whoever gave you that order will face consequences when their identity is revealed. Sadly, I do not think you will live to see that moment."Without the Punisher noticing, Sifrei's spear was becoming colder and colder with the passing of the seconds, then ice began to move towards Pracia's feet from were the spear was resting, if the ice managed to touch her then she was going to get freezed and that would make her unable to keep moving. Sifrei just had to keep her focused on him."You see, I am a Judge, and my job is to uphold the law, a law that you are breaking at this moment." Sifrei said, "A verdict was reached and I found you guilty of trespassing, attempted murder of royalty and her guards, torture, and I am sure I could find more, but my verdict will not change. Prepare to face your judgement."
Vaude 536 Posted May 28, 2017 - Lord Raiden, currently within his study with Alastor and Rabiyu - Raiden observed the girl with interest, baffled by the innate calm in her eyes. He met a great volume of people over the course of his life, but very few could match the blankness he felt coming from her. Emotions seemed dissolved or discarded for this individual, or that is how he assumed it was. Perhaps something traumatic happened to the elfin lass, though it was not for him to ask. Instead, he focused a little more deeply into the conversation. "I can think of a few additional tidbits than my riffle of information, I am certain," he answered her with a quick sideways smile. "The integration of our two societies is what I want in the end, as well as the destruction of the hatred and fear each has for the other. Perhaps in this manner not only can humans and fey get along with each other, but also humans and humans, and fey and fey. Some of my people of Mystras have led a harsh life due to their difference, and distrust bred from their gifts. Humans are the same way. The human spirit, as fragile and bifurcated as it is, is beautiful in my eyes, and if we as one collective society can get along with each other this world and the world below would have far less problems. "This is the world I envision -- a world free of strife, of famine, of hatred awaits us, and I am prepared to lay even my life down for it to happen." He turned his gaze to Alastor, wondering what he was running through his mind, before returning to Rabiyu. "I hope to achieve my dream in time, and with King Asura and Queen Leviathan's aid my dream will come more swiftly. Furthermore, I have no intention for bloodshed. Whatever rumours that have flitted through the air are merely rumours, but if anything escalates I am prepared for all, even for the return of Midnea." He smiled confidently, even if still showing tiredness, and continued. "I aim to sway people through words, not swords. This conflict, one can call it, I have with Queen Shiva is because she is rigid and set in ways that are not her own." - Raleigh Marin, conversing with Ren over breakfast in Raiden's villa's grand hall - Raleigh snickered at Ren's nonchalant comment, but was more than glad to hear that he could answer her great number of questions so readily. All thoughts of her food exited her mind as she greedily absorbed all that was said, and it took a lot of her self-control to bubble with excitement. She had a reputation to keep, as much as she hated to admit it, and she kept herself still and fixated, hands locked in front of her mouth with one resting on the other's wrist. "A dragon tribe, huh? And fairies too?" she asked under her breath, enamoured. This was a lot for her to take in. Raleigh thought back on the fairy tales she was told as a child again. They were very much real, even if potentially flawed in some way or another. Her thoughts were quickly scattered by Ren's own number of questions, snapping her out of her daydreaming, and all of which were quite baffling to her except one. "Hmm, I hope you don't mind if I answer your third question first," she offered with a grin, glad to show off a little bit of her own knowledge. "We've a story set in a fictional land called France about a merchant's daughter named Beauty and a prince turned into a gargoyle. That sounds like a strong parallel, doesn't it? Moving on, I will have to get back to you on that first one, but we have lots of buildings for business and living in. I'd assume your land does the same thing, though I haven't seen much beyond these walls here. As for your other question, who in the world would have a square foot? Maybe I heard you wrong or you misspoke." While she awaited a response, she took another stab of her spoon into her breakfast and found that it still tasted good, even if lukewarm. She had to get a recipe, or perhaps they were just magically delicious and/or a small part of a balanced breakfast.
Elrandir 783 Posted May 28, 2017 (edited) - Divine City of Water: Heimdal - early in the morning - It was a new day and that meant a new set of responsibilities. But before any of that, it was time for breakfast, a well made and delicious breakfast. Heimdal was the place were both rulers of the North spend these past few days after Judge Eliltari reported about the breaching of the barrier in Isopolis. Asura had taken the chance to get away from the Emperial City when his dear wife asked him to visit for an important matter. Said matter happened to be the forbidden barrier. The King of Kings didn't wasted time and sent Judge Sifrei to descend and investigate the current status of the world below, it was only a matter of time for a report, same as Eliltari's. Both Asura and Leviathan were about to get their morning meal on the balcony facing the lake of Heimdal."Was it a good idea to send Sir Sifrei to the human world, Beloved?" Leviathan asked as she took a sip of her tea, "We already had Eliltari investigating Shiva, Raiden and the reasons as to why the barrier was opened."Asura was cutting a piece of his steak, he then stopped and looked at his wife."I think this was the perfect chance to investigate to world below, Dearest," Asura answered Leviathan, "While we wait for Ethiriel's daughter to report her findings, Sifrei will look into the current status of the human world."The Tide Mother looked at the lake at her side, her wavy hair was slightly floating, like it was underwater. She was expresionless for a couple of silent minutes before looking at Asura. Asura loved that about his dearest wife, she was both beautiful and elegant, charming and caring, gentle like the waters of the lake, and dangerous as the strongest storm when angered. Yet at that moment she was frustrated, Asura quickly knew the reason had to be Shiva."I know you are adamant to keep your interactions with Shiva to the absolute minimum, and I respect that," Asura said calmly while looking at Leviathan, "Both you and me wish to dispel the barrier, and if our suspicions are correct then Raiden is on his way to do the same we want to do."Leviathan took another sip of her tea and nodded slowly, the words of her beloved were true. If Raiden's objective was to unite both feys and humans then they were inclined to offer him their help. But if there were ulterior motives,a hidden agenda besides helping both worlds, then they would have to side with Shiva, something that she wanted to avoid. Their friendship had long been broken to pieces, both their fathers used to wage war among themselves from time to time in the past, but somehow they managed to form a friendship, not anymore, however. There was also the option to remain neutral, this was the backup in case Raiden proved to be unreliable, helping Shiva was the last option."I wish there was a better way, but King Alexander left us with very few choices," Said Leviathan while stirring her tea, "If something goes wrong then Caligo will have to close its doors to outsiders, just like King Alexander and Shiva did to the humans. We will keep the continet behind barriers, but I pray that is not the case."Asura slowly raised from his seat and walked over to Leviathan standing behind her, embracing her and resting his chin on her head."Whatever the future holds we will face it together, My Queen," He said softly, "No matter what happens, I will stand at your side always." - Rabiyu - Raiden's Study - The High Elf listened quietly, Raiden seemed to speak the truth, if only partially, which was fine for the judge."I thank you for your cooperation, Your Lordship," Rabiyu said calmly, "As a judge, I find this acceptable, but that is speaking of my own thoughts. Let us hope that my King and Queen find those terms acceptable. If you would allow me, I will give my report at this moment, and an answer will be given to you. Please, wait for a few minutes."Rabiyu put her palms together and closed her eyes. She was going to use a spell to speak to the rulers of the North through astral projection."Zii do su, vos zey wah wundun wah staad Zu'u yah. "The body of the Elf relaxed and stopped moving entirely, even her breathing came to an almost complete stop. One would think that she was dead, but she was not. - Divine City of Water: Heimdal - After breakfast -The King of Kings was currently staring at the lake, it was beautiful when the surface reflected the light of the sun in the mornings, but it was far more breathtaking when he managed to watch it with his wife. This was interrupted by a surge of arcane energy in the balcony and the flickering silhouette of Lady Eliltari was standing near the entrance to the royal chambers."Good morning, Your Highness," Eliltari said to Asura while bowing, "I did not expect to see you here today. Greetings to you as well, Your Grace."Elilatari then bowed to Leviathan, who gave her a nod of acknowledgement."I see that you finally came, Eliltari, I hope you bring us news of your success," The Tide Mother said to the Elf, "Please, tell us about your findings."The High Elf proceeded to explain the past couple of days, the situation with the Prince, with his subordinates, the Doom Hound, the Black Witch, and especially what Raiden was planning to do. Both Rulers listened carefully until the very end."So, we have Midnea back in the Overworld," Asura said, "And as we suspected, Raiden is working towards that that we wished to do ourselves. The integration of both societies, to learn and grow together in harmony."Leviathan looked at Asura for a moment before looking at Eliltari."His reasons seem respectable, but this road is not without burdens, Raiden want to avoid unnecessary bloodshed," Leviathan said while sighing, "I fear bloodshed will be unavoidable if what you said about the Doom Hound is correct. In the end, his goal is the same as ours, and that is good for our current situation. Please, Eliltari, wait a moment while we discuss this matter in private."Leviathan calmly walked inside the royal chambers, followed closely by Asura who closed the door. It took minutes until those doors opened again and both rulers came out."We came to a decision, Eliltari. While this could potentially be seen as an attack towards Shiva and Kilkes Seres, I fear late King Alexander left us with no choice," Said Asura to the Elf, "Your orders are to give support to Raiden of Mystras in anything he needs. You will be put in his charge until the success of his plan."The Tide Mother nodded in agreement, her face the perfect picture of calmness, one that far surpassed that of the High Elf."Sifrei will possibly be joining you once he returns from his own assignment. Please inform Raiden of that possibility," Leviathan said, "Give him our regards, and tell him that we wish him good luck. If he should ever need something he only needs to ask. The same goes to you, child. Continue to gather information and give us reports of the development of the situation."The High Elf bowed and the silhouette faded, leaving the two rulers of the North to ponder about the future. After minutes without any signs of movements Rabiyu opened her eyes and looked at Raiden. "I am pleased to inform you that your request as been granted, Your Lordship," Rabiyu said to Raiden, "King Asura and Queen Leviathan came to the decision to help your cause, as it was one that they shared as well."Rabiyu slowly nodded in his direction before standing up."I was told to give you their regards and their wishes of good luck. Oh, and that you could use my services as you see fit. Another one of my companions could be joining us in the future, probably, if he can complete his assignment," Rabiyu said, "If you ever need something you only have to ask, and I will report to the King and Queen."The High Elf then bowed slightly at Raiden as a sign of respect, he was going to be her new boss after all. Although she could disagree if something wasn't to her liking, or if it affected the Northern continent. Edited May 28, 2017 by Elrandir
Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted May 28, 2017 - Draksis - Breakfast at Raiden's villa - "I think he means the diameter and size of our kingdom...or world." Draksis spoke as he walked into the scene, without any plate or food. He wasn't hungry, frankly he was deep in thought for all this time. Mostly taking in the scenery, he was always one to enjoy a good view. "Pardon my intrusion." Draksis spoke for a second with a small smile. A charismatic one at that. He quickly brought a hand to the back of his head as he took at seat near them. "Sorry to say, but I doubt any of us will know the statistics. Although I could tell you about how many states are under out rule." Draksis offered Ren, the new addition to the breakfast. As a military commander, it was his duty to know everything that happenedi n every capital and state. Nothing could get through without him noticing. "Anyway. What have I missed? I've been...daydreaming." He spoke turning his head to Raleigh and the others. - Henry and Maxis - The Dreadnaught and the Living Glorious Armor- Kilkis Seres courtyard - Henry was...surprised...to say the least, at Meksis's speech towards him, it might have been one of the nicest things anyone ever said to him in the past few months. He was torn if he should feel surprised, or genuinely happy. "Thanks...Thank you." Henry spoke with a grateful tone at Meksis, sharing eye contact...if Meksis even had eyes anyway. 'Five thousand years huh?' 'We fey are immortal by age standards'. 'I see.' "Best to advise the young while I still can I guess." Henry spoke with a small chuckle and a shrug. As Meksis turned to leave and spoke to Maxis, who was leaning against a wall overlooking them. Maxis simply gestured towards Meksis as the chapperone spoke to him. "Right, lets go." Maxis spoke. As he showed Meksis the way to Ivany's lab. - Maxis - Ivany's lab with Meksis - "So here it is, the door to Ivany's lab...At the southeastern most of the Kilkis Seres castle. The queen might tell you otherwise, but she won't admit that everyone has their doubts of Ivany." Maxis spoke freely and carefree about the whole thing, like a small kid spouting information. "Well I don't." Maxis spoke as he knocked on the door, which was just a head's taller than both Maxis and Meksis. "Ivany its a me!" Maxis joked. As one could hear a faint female voice coming from within the lab. Muffled by the door somewhat. "Come in!" "Aight then." Maxis spoke as he slowled began to push the door open. Revealing the splendor of Ivany's lab to Meksis. It was quite a bit of a mess. Some empty vials left on the ground, mixtures and other experiments on a table to the leftmost side of the room, and a few vials in their cases on the rightmost. If Meksis and Maxis had noses, they'd also smell something brewing in the background. either way, here they were. "Hey maxis!" Ivany spoke as she popped in front of them in a puff of smoke. Doing what seemed like a ta-da! Pose. Much to Maxis and Meksis's chagrin. She not only approached Maxis first, but also extended her hand in a closed fist to wards him. As maxis simply did the same, effectively bro-fisting the petite scientist as she blushed under her plague doctor's mask. "And who is this?" Ivany spoke, pointing at Meksis. Who stood beside Maxis. "He's a friend...you've always said you'd want to meet another Living armor like me...so here he is." Maxis spoke with a proud tone. "WHy don't you introduce yourself Meksis?" Maxis asked the Chapperone.
Endless Thundaga 533 Posted May 29, 2017 Jynn Venas-Kilkes Seres The siblings and Henry share some helpful tips to Helios to not let Shiva make his future for him. It was kind of funny to Jynn, as he has never been given such a advice in his life before, as he only has one path in life; to be named King, and really, to the prince, this wasn't something he is all too excited about. Suddenly, Henry turns to Jynn and tries to convince him to stay in Kilkes Seres and make sure Helios sticks to his own path. But the prince reminds him that he needs to see his and the siblings' safety first. "I would be more than happy to help Helios, but right now, I need to see you guys arrive safely to my home. I will head back here when you do." Helios then chimes in and assures everyone that he will be okay. Jynn smiles and crosses his arms. "You know Helios, I somewhat envy you... I wish I had the life you did, making my own future." There was a slight pause. Jynn then lowers his arms. "Anyways, don't let my mother drive you away from your dreams. If you ever feel down, just remember the friends you've made." Jynn brings Henry and the Siblings together. "Let them be your motivation. And no matter how far away they may be from you, they will always be in your heart and memories." Jynn chuckles. Wish I could take my own advice.
Saber Lily 1,543 Posted May 29, 2017 -Eclaire: Queen's Study- Her pause was good. Turning, she went over to the Queen. She too needed someone to believe in her...and she needed her to be safe. She bent down, and following an instinct she wasn't sure of, kissed Shiva for two brief seconds. She hadn't really thought, she hadn't really even given to the idea that kissing her might go terrible wrong...but deep down, below the surface...below the succubus... Then the door opened, and she broke apart. Her eyes wide, she was about to apologize and run for her continued existence...but as she spun to look, her eyes went wider, her face paled, and her entire stance immediately went from confused and scared to outright terror at the sight of Bherna and her companions. -Takao, feeling energetic: Xion, About to get mad- They followed and remained quiet, respectful. Of course, bows and curtsys abound. As the door opened and revealed Eclaire, following her instincts, Takao gasped. Not of surprise at intimacy, but at the fact she knew what was going to happen. She pulled Bherna back as Xion stormed in, ignoring the guards, the fact it was a castle and that was clearly the Queen. Her succubus wings tore into existence, propelling her past the desk, where her unbandaged hand sliced the hair. SMACK! The sound of palm to flesh echoed in the office. Eclaire's head had been snapped to the side, her cheek an angry, inflamed red. What had once been cooled by Shiva's touch now was on fire. Xion was still, not moving since contact. Then her arms moved, and she grasped Eclaire, pulling her in. Tears were flowing like rain from clouds, and her voice was barely controlled. "BED EMPTY! NO NOTE! ARMORY GONE! YOU COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED!" She wailed. "I gave you two choices you idiot, but you chose the fourth! You didn't even give me a hug!" Her arms tightened. "You're grounded Clary. You're grounded and I don't care if your two thousand years old and kissing Queens without their permission you untrained dummy!" She clutched Eclaire's head. "How dare you make me this angry." Eclaire was quiet for a good time. "I'm sorry...Mother..."
Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted May 29, 2017 --Elia Cabret and Yev Malachite -- Kilkis Seres Courtyard-- The young fairy huffed and crossed her arms at Morana's praise for her arch nemesis. "You don't know him like I do," she murmured under her breath, amber eyes stealing a final glance at the blond who stood a short distance away. He didn't seem to hear her, or if he had it didn't seem important enough for him to comment upon. He shifted slightly to glance over at the party. "Do as you like, but good luck in convincing the queen of anything. She hasn't been . . . particularly receptive as of late, except in the case of a certain female retainer of hers." "Huh? A retainer, for Queen Shiva?" Elia was a little surprised by this. For as long as she could remember the queen had taken no one under such a role, choosing to rule alone and in solitude with the prince and nothing more. She had even cast Yev aside, who had been serving the royal family for nearly his entire adulthood. The fact that she placed her trust in a new retainer, and so soon, seemed questionable to Elia, though she was hesitant on how far she should question Yev. Perhaps he was just saying all of this to get a rouse out of her. "Yes, an interesting woman. Her views do seem to align well with the queen's, or at least the views that she pretends to have." Yev's choice of words were odd, but then he always had a tendency to speak in riddles. Elia nodded to the rest of her gang and began to lead the way. "Well, let's get going, then," she said to her friends, with the exception of Morana that had managed to wander off. She strolled off deeper into the city, whether Rufus, Jari, Typhon, Mikhail, and Aqua chose to follow was up to them. She approached the palace guard at the castle gates and saluted him. "I'm back!" she announced gleefully. "And I'd like to see the Queen. I think I might be able to heal her son." "Her Majesty has enough visitors right now," the guard responded coldly, his helmeted head shifting to glance at them all in turn. He probably thought that her collection of companions was odd, especially considering a cyph was among them, but he said nothing on the subject. Instead Elia was starting to show her impatience. "But you see, this is very important," she persisted. "If we wait much longer Prince Jynn might--" "No more visitors," he said with a tone of finality, expressing that he was clearly down to business and wouldn't be bamboozled. "Come back in an hour and I'm sure Her Majesty the Queen would be free to speak with you all." Clearly Elia was distraught. She turned around to face her companions. "Well, what now?" --Queen Shiva -- Kilkis Seres: the study-- Shiva's mind grew numb as Eclaire's lips met hers. There was something strangely warm, gratifying, wonderful, and horrifying about it all at once. How did she feel? What was it to feel? She hardly even knew. She'd killed off the majority of her emotions ever since she took the throne. Before that she'd had everything: her own ambitions, a lover, a home . . . . She had to reject it all, or so she thought. New feelings were erupting that she'd long-since buried, and she didn't know how to feel about it anymore. It frightened her. The queen opened her eyes to meet Eclaire's gaze, so very close to her own. While she knew that the woman was a succubus, she didn't particularly remind her of one. Eclaire never seemed out of control or greedy, but, rather, sincere and tender. She was always gentle around Shiva. Did she foresee a relationship between the two, or were these acts of affection nothing more than tender feelings? Before she could put her thoughts into words or inquire further, the door had opened announcing that they now had an audience. She glanced over, and quite quickly a raven-haired woman came up and struck Eclaire. Fury flushed her cheeks as she rose from her chair, palms flat on the smooth surface of her desk. She was about to demand and explanation and declare than no hand should rise upon her retainer, but their interaction was . . . curious. They seemed to know each other, and what was once fury turned to concern as the woman embraced Eclaire and chided her. It was then that she heard the name upon Eclaire's lips: "Mother." Mother . . . so this was Eclaire's mother. The woman did have family after all. Shiva smoothed down the skirt of her dress, not particularly certain on how to respond to this family reunion. She didn't want to mess it up. It was then that she noticed Bherna had arrived with the two women, causing her cheeks to flush. What had Bherna seen? Would she grow suspicious? Or worst yet, would she report any of this to her father? That would certainly complicate matters. "Bherna," she greeted, coming from around the desk to wrap an arm around her granddaughter's shoulders. "You look wonderful, dear. How are you? And where did you find these two women?" She wanted to inquire more from Eclaire and Xion, but she thought it best if she allowed them to have a moment alone. --Ren Mordecai -- Raiden's Villa: Breakfast Table-- Ren snapped his fingers at Raleigh's response, seeming particularly satisfied with her answer. "Aha! I knew that France wasn't real! Everyone had kept telling me that it was a real land in the World Below and that a Spriggan had dwelt there in the form of a beast. It just felt off to me, though, and I've continually wondered if it were a myth. Thank you very much for your clarification, Miss Raleigh." It was around that time that Draksis had joined them at their table: a heavily armored man that Ren had never seen before. He nodded in respect to him, and appreciated the fact that he was shedding some clarity upon the questions he'd earlier asked Raleigh. "Yes, you would be correct, sir. I am very interested in the size of land that your kingdom consists of. You see, our records of the world below are terrible given the fact that our kind hasn't ventured there in many a millennia, and I would like to update the journals. That was one of my main reasons for traversing to your world in the first place," he explained. It was then he realized that he was being quite the motor-mouth since he'd arrived there. He took a long drink from his goblet again, his gaze occasionally shifting over to Soren while paying the majority of his attention to the humans in front of him. While he thought Soren was his friend he didn't know how far their friendship extended. Would he still capture him and return him to Isopolis, or Kilkis Seres? He was afraid to find out. Perhaps Soren wouldn't fully recognize him, but that seemed rather foolish for Ren to hold onto. How could Soren not recognize a prisoner that he fed and escorted to the showers every now and again? "Anyway," Ren said, folding his arms over his chest and leaning further into his chair. "I don't believe you have missed much, save my delightful conversation with Miss Raleigh here, but I cannot say what you might've missed from the rest of your friends." He extended a hand across the table to shake Draksis'. "My name is Ren, by the way. And you might be?"
Stardustblade358 806 Posted May 30, 2017 -Helios - Castle Courtyard - Aura, Aurion, Gel(?), Henry, Meksis and Prince Jynn- Helios was surprised to hear Jynn say what he did. But it also made him realize something he never thought before; he was indeed lucky. Despite everything that had happened, for whatever reason he had survived, triumphed, and remained alive, and now he was here. Still in one piece, and with allies and friends he never thought he would have. He was truly, a very lucky Fey. He nodded at them, chuckling to himself. "...I truly am lucky aren't I?" Helios said as he shook his head. "My ultimate goal is that one day both worlds might one day interact such as we do. No fights, just smiles and trust, such as when we met many of the humans below before our imprisonment. For both worlds to live in harmony...I must be careful. I must use this new chance of a new life to make it worth...but I refuse to forget the world below and its struggles. I saw how life was slowly being drained away down there. Now that I know the reason...I refuse to forget the world below. I sometimes think that us heading down there was a mistake...but I am starting to think that maybe it was one of the best choices I could have done. If only it could have gone so much different...but I will simply have to continue for the future instead." Helios said, a determined smirk spreading across his lips. He was given a chance. He would not let it to waste...but he would be dammed if he would to leave the world below to rot with the knowledge he has. He smiled. "Now then. You better get going to the prince's estate. The royal gardens will be at their best at this point of year, too."

Stardustblade358 806 Posted June 1, 2017 -Morana - Mysterious Figure in the Alley - Rufus, Mikhail, Typhon, Aqua, Jari and Elia If Morana was disturbed by the fey's words and insults, or even by the dead body, she didn't show it, her expression stoic as ever. Stench of blood. Dead body. Drinking blood? It all screamed vampire...or at least a vampiristic fey. "You know that there are Blood Banks for those who need blood to feast upon?" Morana asked, glancing between the fey and the body. She wasn't surprised when the fey made point of her stench. By this point she had heard so many things about it she had simply learned to ignore it and yet...she couldn't help but to personally admit that it stung a little. At least how the fey worded it. It took a lot for Morana to resist breaking her facade and simply aim a boned blade at the fey. However they did say something that caught her attention. "...you can take the smell away?" She asked, blinking a few times. She could make the smell go away. She could walk around the masses without making people uncomfortable and making people gag whenever she was around. It would be...convenient. She'd never even thought such was possible. "...deals like this usually end up having terrible side effects, you know..." Morana hummed, wary of the many tales of how a spell had always backfired to those who have taken advantage of it. But the deal was too...tempting. She wouldn't smell bad anymore. She would be able to live in a normal town or city and not have to leave because of the scent bothering those around her. She was the result of an unlikely union and had inherited the best and worst of both words...the scent being part of it all. I could be normal. "...all you ask is for a piece of my bone?" Morana admitted that was an odd thing to ask of her. The structure of a Wendigos' bones were different. If one broke off it would always return...it seemed like a good deal in her opinion. It was very small in compared to pther needs, like a first born child or something like that. "...I think I can deal with that." Morana hummed, extending her arm as a piece of bone extruded from her already pierced skin. She used her other bone to slash a piece of it off, before handing it over to the Fey. "Make the smell go away."
Sora's Baby 729 Posted June 2, 2017 ~ Aqua: Kilkis Seres Courtyard~ Aqua had taken the ice-cream and muttered out a small "Thanks" as she did so. She was rather thankful for the small act of kindness as she loved the frozen treat dearly and to say that today wasn't her best day was an understatement. She licked at the frozen treat readily and enjoyed it. It was nice to be able to relax. She quickly finished the dairy treat and taking out a handkerchief out of her bag her wiped her hands and face off. Aqua hadn't heard the conversation around her as she had focused one her ice-cream. That that her treat was finished she listened intently. She didn't say anything, however, just glad that everyone had seemly forgotten her for the time being. She noticed a new figure approach the group. The same one the had saved Elia during the Troll battle. He talked to Elia and another member of the group then introduced himself as Yev Malachite. (Hope I spell it right! ) She noticed him briefly glance at her. She made no move to return the action. Aqua felt something click in her head. He began to head off and gotten too far before added one last comment. She could she see Elia walking toward the castle to go in. Aqua made no move to follow her instead she turned in the direction Yev had headed off in. Aqua felt bad for what she was going to do next, however, she couldn't let a chance like this slip past her. She ran after the blonde elf. "Wait!" She cried out needing to get his attention. "Sorry, Elia, you probably won't like me for this. Hah, guess I'm going back down to zero friends again." She shook her head those type of thoughts wouldn't help her. ( Sorry for this mess of a post, haha. )
Vaude 536 Posted June 3, 2017 - Lord Raiden, currently within his study conversing with Rabiyu and Alastor - The girl certainly has some tricks up her sleeve, Raiden thought to himself, impressed by the recitation and her ability to conjure up an astral projection. He wondered if he could do the same if he attempted it, or if the process would be too much on him. The same magic was not for everyone, and what can work for one cannot be mirrored by all even after abundant years of training. Besides that, the spell probably was too difficult for him to recite in Elvish, not without a heavy background in the language which he lacked. But good news came out of the minutes-long anticipation. The two royals of the other continent offered their services, and the use of their agents, including the ambassador. This was not without its flaws, of course. He will have to keep a weather eye on the horizon, just in the case that either Rabiyu or her royal compatriots have secret agendas of their own. As trusting as he was, he was by the same token cautious. "This is very good news. It gladdens me that they follow the same line of thought on the matter, and I am astounded that you were able to get so quick a response. Someday I hope that you will teach me the skill. It would be very practical, I think, and save me a lot of walking." Raiden allowed a tired grin and a chuckle at the statement before reverently bowing in the Mystran way towards Rabiyu. "Thank you for giving Mystras the generosity of the North. King Asura and Queen Leviathan will not have their trust misplaced, I assure you. "On the subject of yourself, however, I may have use of your abilities soon enough. Until then, feel free to mingle and relax with the humans in the other room. However, do not offer or show any hostility to Midnea, no matter how many jabs she gives. The time to strike against the scourge of our history will be later, and not in the present, but spying is definitely permitted if you can remain undetected. Be wary, though. Midnea has dangerous abilities, and I would rather not put the ambassador of the North, or anyone for that matter, at risk of her dark powers." Raiden mused over matters by the end of this, wondering who else was at risk of being perturbed and endangered by her. Soren Monroe, the newly gathered sentinel of Isopolis, was one. The rest of the humans were threatened by this too, especially given the evidence that a doom hound was within the human group since before they landed at Isopolis. He will have to get in contact with Soren sometime very soon and establish a more firm connection and understanding. The unfortunate individual was probably very confused right now, and, if Soren's face in the grand hall had any meaning behind its contortions, this was beyond certain. - Raleigh Marin, occupied by good food and good company in the grand hall of Raiden's villa - Raleigh cracked a grin at the young man -- or at the very least that is what he seemed to be -- and would have given a reply to his thanks had not Draksis popped in on the conversation. Not being learned seemed to backfire on her, and she felt sheepish and belligerent towards the older knight as a result. How dare he make a fool out of her? Really! Nevertheless, he had a point, and his entering the conversation opened up further topics and allowed her to inhale more food. She will let the two do the talking for now. Over the course of a few more bites, she found food boring and the recent pilings a little too cool. She glanced over to Curvis in the meantime, wondering if he was enjoying the moment or not. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed that he was looking over every now and again, and if he noticed her looking over every now and again too, well, that would be absolutely embarrassing. Sure, he was a good guy and had his heart set in the right place, but they were just affiliates and nothing more. There was no need to conclude anything just because he seemed to like her company and she liked his. Besides that, they left on a difficult note when she ventured off into the gardens to think. Perhaps after the adventures in the Overworld had ended, they could converse again on a more friendly note. - Jari Coriander and Rufus Contralto, with Elia and company at Kilkes Seres - Jari traveled alongside Elia as she slipped off and away from Yevgeni, hoping not to lose her in the case that Alastor might still be after him, but he did see Aqua run off in the same direction as that blond elf with whom Elia collided. Perhaps they were acquaintances, he thought to himself, keeping it in the back of his mind as he headed toward the palace. It frustrated him that the girl had not given any replies whatsoever to them, especially him since he wanted to help, but she did not matter to him, even if she did look a little cute and about the same age as himself. "Angry, ol' buddy, ol' chum?" voiced the ever annoying genie from overhead. Rufus could be found prone, floating, leaning his head onto his arms, and flailing his legs back and forth over the unfortunate foxchild. "Do not let worry contort your furry head! Rejection hurts for a while and gets better eventually!" "I'm not angry, and I'm not rejected!" countered Jari, red-faced in either embarrassment or irritation or perhaps a bit of both. "Besides, where's your girlfriend, huh? I haven't seen her for a time." Rufus blinked in confusion before laughing uproariously. A few passers-by looked at him as if he were an idiot before walking on, potentially because he was an idiot. "Oh, Morana! She's no girlfriend of mine, though she is missing, is she not? No matter! She will find her way back! She got us ice cream, if you remember, through the thick of this crowd. She'll find us again!" "I do hope you're right," sighed Jari as he continued on, finally catching up to Elia. Overhearing her rowdy dialogue with the guard of the castle gates made it seem like they would have to wait, which was perfectly fine in his eyes. There was so much walking involved, and his feet were rather sore. If only he could half-shift like the elders of his race, but it took great skill, determination, and training to be a full-blown kitsune. Besides that, he did not know what it would be like to have two tails or more. Maybe he would not like it. "I'm not sure how much you would value my input," he spoke with a hint of uncertainty, "but we could spend that hour relaxing. I do worry about the prince, however. Would an hour longer really cripple him that much? I don't know diddly squat about healing except that waiting and licking them heals all my wounds! Well, that and medicine. Certain foods help certain healing, right? Is that what those capsules and mashed stuff in pestles are for?" Rufus refrained from being annoyed by this unintelligent comment from Jari. He seemed to remember a lot about healing powders and potions, but much of that knowledge was locked away or not really there to begin with. Instead, he eyed the guard's clothing, wondering where he could get a set of clothes and/or armour like he did. He could not wear it, of course, but it would be fun to have something. Perhaps Elia had the coinpurse for buying his trifling desire to own something.
Endless Thundaga 533 Posted June 3, 2017 (edited) Jynn Venas-Kilkes Seres Jynn listened as Helios explains his wishes. He wanted to find out more about the barrier, and also wants both worlds to live in harmony with one another. Jynn understood Helios' wishes quite well, as he wants to help the world below too. But at the same time, he feels it could be risky. Regardless, leaving another world to rot in favor of helping this world is beyond selfish. Jynn wished he could stay and talk more, but time is moving forward, and Jynn needs to get the humans to safety. "Well, let's get going before the queen has second thoughts." He heads over to Melstrome and pats his muzzle. "I don't want you guys to overstay your welcome, she won't be too pleased about that." Bherna Lao-Kilkes Seres castle Bherna did not notice Eclaire kissing Shiva, as she was closing the door. As she turns around, Takao pushes her back while Xion slaps Eclaire across the face harshly, leaving a massive burn on the girl's face. It was very scary watching the interaction between the two, but her nervousness was distracted by Shiva wrapping an arm around Bherna's shoulder, complementing the girl and asking where she found Takao and Xion. "I found them out in the city. They claim to have news for you." (Will post for Dawson when Scrap posts for Alicia.) Elrandir 783 Posted June 3, 2017 - Rabiyu - Raiden's Dining room -"Indeed, Your Lordship, I am open to your suggestion, perhaps in the future I could teach you the spell," Rabiyu said while looking at Raiden, and notice he looked slightly tired, before bowing in return, "It is useful when you cannot be around for important gatherings, as I just did, but once mastered the spell is very helpful. The High Elf nodded to Raiden while talking about the Projection spell, one could cast it in elvish, that was true, but spells, when casted, needed to have meaning applied to the words, and years worth of experimentation, and training, made Rabiyu realize that dragon speech made spells more powerful than using common or elvish."I understand, and I will do as you wish, Your Lordship. Spying will be done in a way that it cannot be detected by the humans, or the Black Witch for that matter, I just need to learn the layout of your residence, " Rabiyu stopped for a couple of seconds before speaking again, "I am in possession of an ancient rune that will allow me to observe, and this being a house where arcane forces are used, I doubt the humans will suspect of anything out of place. This is their first time on this house, after all. I do not want to spy on you or your private matters so I will leave your study alone, your personal chambers as well, the rune will disappear once your goal is met,"Rabiyu did had a plan to spy, one that could let her see and listen to anything happening around the house, this was to both be aware of anything happening around the house, and to protect Raiden in case of an attack, the second reason was not that probable."And as for the Witch, do not worry, her words are just that, words. I learned by those under your charge that not everyone will use their given names as a precaution, and I will follow their example," she said calmly, "I humbly ask that while in the presence of others that are not part of your personal circle, I be called Hisie, which means mist in elvish. Now, Master Alastor, Your Lordship, if both of you excuse me, I will begin with my surveillance duties."The High Elf bowed slightly and made her way outside the study, she looked around for a moment before her misty cloak covered her whole body for a few seconds, then as suddenly as she was covered the mist dissipated and the Elf's clothes were replaced by a pale silver blue robe and her long braid, usually hidden under the cloak or wrapped around her neck, became undone, her white hair was almost knee length. It was time to work. Rabiyu made her way around the house, touching specific point on the walls, above the doors, corners, unsuspected spots, and inside the different rooms. Sometimes servants gave the elvish girl a glance before bowing, she was not known to them, but if someone as regal as her was there maybe she was a guest of Lord Raiden. After minutes of going around the house Rabiyu finished her job and made her way towards the dining room. She stood for a moment at the entrace, watching everyone around the room, some speaking among themselves in small groups, others alone, she slowly made her way towards the table and found a chair that was not occupied and with no one else close so she could avoid conversation, for now."I'm famished, haven't eaten since last night. I should take the chance to fill my stomach while looking at those in here," she thought as a plate moved in front of her and different foods began floating and land on it, mostly vegetables, but some meat and eggs as well, "They are an interesting group, that's for sure, just like the one last night."Even while eating Rabiyu's movements were swift and elegant, the sign that she definitely was an elf. Everyone was a stranger to her, but she could identify those that lacked arcane energy, that made it easier for her to focus on who were feys and who were humans.- Aeternum Siblings - Courtyard of Kilkis Seres -Aura gave Helios a hug and smiled to him, it was time to go before anything else could happen."It was an interesting few days, right?" she asked, "but it was fun. And you gave us the chance to see this beautiful place."Aurion put his hand on Helios's shoulder and nodded."Let us hope we have the chance to meet again in the future, my friend," Aurion said quietly, "It's has been an honor. Take care, Helios."Both siblings looked at the fey and then at the Prince."We are ready when you are, Your Highness," Aurion said, "Let us go before anything else gets in the way." Mystics Apprentice 2,397 Posted June 3, 2017 --Yevgeni Malachite -- Exiting Kilkis Seres into the Great Beyond-- The shout of a feminine voice cutting through the air arrested his attention. The blond paused, turning on heel to steal a glance behind him. Running up was the pale-blue-haired elf that had been accompanying Elia previously. His eyes narrowed. Why would she be approaching him, and alone? Her friends were nowhere to be seen, not even the little sister of Ariana that persistently remained a thorn in his side. The thought crossed his mind that Elia put her up to this, though for what reason eluded him. "Hmm? Yes?" Yev responded smoothly, studying her as she approached. "Aqua, is it? Is there something that I can do for you?" All he could hope was that this wasn't one of Elia's foolish ideas of getting back at him. He grew weary of her feeble attempts of wounding him after what happened to Ariana, something that was entirely out of his control and yet seemed to somehow remain his fault. The young fey before him, however, appeared earnest. Sincere. He willed himself to listen, and at the very least give her the benefit of the doubt. --Alderon Niles -- heading to Raiden's Study-- The king took slight notice to the color rising in Midnea's cheeks and chuckled slightly. How girlish she seemed at times, and yet incredibly wise. It seemed like a blessing that she appeared at his door one day all those years ago. After suffering the loss of his dear queen Elicia and the curse of his daughter his world had been spinning. She'd helped him in more ways in one, which made him feel forever indebted to her. "Yes, let us go now," he said, helping the woman rise. "We have spent enough time in contemplation as it is. Now is the time for action." He held the door open for her, and once she would emerge he too would follow, taking up the lead in the direction of Raiden's study. His memory of the villa was a bit fuzzy, given its massive size and confusing layout, but he did vaguely remember where they had convened the night prior. He'd hoped that Raiden wouldn't feel it out of turn for them to simply arrive at his study uninvited, but these were important matters to discuss. The door to Raiden's study was shut upon their arrival, though this didn't deter Alderon from knocking timidly. He thought he could hear muffled voices inside, though it could've very well sounded from other locations within the villa itself. (Will post for everyone else once others have had the chance to respond, which I think is Typhon, Visco, Soren, Draksis, Eclaire, Takao, and Xion.)
Arya Stark 1,337 Posted June 4, 2017 Neena Mors - The Zealot - Raiden's Villa; Under Guise of Alayne Neena couldn't stop looking at him. Ren. She knew it was him. He looked terrible. His smile was fresh, but his frame was thin. Hauntingly so. She had to work to keep surprise free from Alayne's face, had to work to keep working instead of dropping it all and talking to him. That was what she wanted to do. But she couldn't. Not yet, no for now she had to keep doing this trivial serving girl labor, listening carefully as she took empty dishes back from the table, as she poured water and juice and milk. Even in this though, she looked to Ren. It was hard to focus on listening to these fool humans when the ghost of her friend was sitting right there at the table. How had he gotten here, freed from whatever torture that bitch of a queen had forced him go under? Perhaps the more important question though, was what was he doing here? Obviously eating toast and chatting easily, his free and easy personality somehow still not squandered. But... Why here? This was the villa of Raiden, enemy of the queen yes but also key player in bringing these humans here, and with the goal of severing the separation between worlds. Did he not realize that? That the torturers and captors and killers of Helios and Ariana were who he was breaking bread with? It was... insanity. Regardless, his presence complicated matters. No longer could she cause free reigning chaos for Ren might get caught in the crossfire. The humans were leaving for now, which was good, but also... they would be back. There would be unity, supposedly at least. And Neena had to get in the way of that unity. It could not happen. Gel - The Farmer - Castle Courtyard Gel jogged lightly, looking about him. He saw Aura and Aurion and Henry and Helios. And a few others, notable presences including a man with a pegasus. And that wasn't the worst of it! Just on his trek here he'd seen horned people, winged people, tailed people, furry people. He supposed he ought to have been looking forward to such, he had spent time with Helios after all. But it was still a little overwhelming. He didn't know how the others were taking to it so well. Gel made it to the siblings and Helios and Henry and scratched the back of his head. "I was um... tired. I'd been on the road for a while and that bed was literally heavenly. But I missed the trial, um, obviously." Gel looked to Helios, looked the spriggan up and down. "But I mean, your head's not on a pike so I guess that went okay. But guys," Gel glanced back to the Twins, his gaze shooting to Henry for half a moment before lingering on the Twins. "I also heard that we're to leave immediately. It was that verdict that caused a guard to rustle me okay rather violently. He seemed quite adamant on us buzzing off. Do y'all have, um, anything else on that?" Cerberos - The Mercenaries - Dungeoneering: The Nymphadora Sea Screw the job right? They were in a brand new world, all of it open to them in incredible ways. Why bother with what Helvadoria had paid them to do? Of course, at some point, they'd probably go back, finish things off. They had a reputation to consider But... why do that right now? Technically, the job was to gain as much knowledge as they could of the Overworld. They'd done so in the city of Mystras, but there sure was a lot to this world. A brief talk with an old hermit that had grabbed the cuff of Swanson's pants (had it been Ryonne or Viridem, they'd have brushed him off, but Swanson stayed to talk with the geezer) and they were informed of a tomb. With treasures. Warned of dangers of course, but what mercenary worth their salt doesn't risk danger for treasure? Besides, with the handy little tools they'd picked up from Lord Raiden's vault, they were feeling pretty much invincible. But now, standing in front of a giant ocean.... Well. "We need an item that's at the bottom." "The bottom? The bottom of an ocean. What are we doing? We can't swim to the bottom of the ocean." A single grunt in agreement. "So... Let's turn around right? Go find another prince or whatever to tail." "No no, friends, I told you I had this handled!" "Swanson, I know bravado is like your thing, but I am not about to watch you drown. At least let me turn around so I don't have to watch your body float to the top after you die." "Now, I can handle this, but only if you watch. I learned a trick too while you guys were flying and running and stuff." "Ryonne, come on. Let's go. Make him stop. You aren't making him stop." "I'm curious what Swanson thinks he can do to fight an ocean." "Almighty why did I get stuck with you two losers! I swear had I found some women I'd be the richest merc in both worlds by now." "Come now Viridem! Faith, trust, and pixie dust!" Swanson grabbed the battle axe he had scavenged from the vault. He placed both hands on the handle, and turned to smile a winning smile at his comrades. "Ryonne, you best be ready with that whole run fast thing." Ryonne shrugged, and Swanson laughed. He lifted the axe behind his head, gripped it tight, then swung down, hard. But it was not just hard. Swanson's strength alone was laughable compared to the weight of his axe, which swiftly became easily the heaviest thing currently around. It smashed into the ground, splitting it open, and sending a massive shockwave throughout the ground. Viridem slipped and fell, as did Ryonne but he just as swiftly scrambled to his feet again, watching the sea still. The earthquake pulsed through the water, pushing it forward in a massive wave that would crash onto the opposite shore soon. But for now, there was an opening, the ocean floor revealed. Ryonne spotted a gleam on the ocean floor, and darted forward, his blinding speed making it to the object and back just before the water began to crash back into its sea. It splashed up around them, soaking all three of them. Ryonne held the object that would apparently enable them to go into the tomb. Swanson laughed at Viridem's soaked and shocked expression. "Now then, I'd appreciate some more trust in the future." He said with a smile, offering Viridem a hand up. She swatted it away. "You're paying for my laundry." She assured him, before turning and floating up on the wind. To the tomb.
Scrapmaster 1,731 Posted June 4, 2017 (edited) - Henry - The Dreadnaught - Kilkis Seres courtyard with the others. - "You do know the prince is not gonna be able to do anything right?" "What do you mean." "Oh come now, you know how it is with Royalty and Children" "I...do-" "You do, do you usually see Royalty fighting their king?" "i..." "Jynn is no different than the daughter of Alderon. Their power granted only by their parent, and they cannot impose themselves. Alderon's in particular has been locked up her entire life, without ever protesting.". "I have to trust him." "No, Henry, you know you cannot, as much as you might respect him, as much as you might WANT to believe, his rebelling against the queen will bring absolutely nothing. It will fall on deaf ears, and the world bellow will still die slowly." "I...I know..." "Its just how it is, Children hardly ever have any power over their parents, especially when said parents are overzealous" "And so lies the fate of your world...On a prince, who probably won't make any difference." "..." "What would your family say? With you returning to the world below with your tail between your legs?" "How...dare you." "Am I lying? Didn't you wish to become a knight to protect the people? to bring better lives to your family? was that not what you wanted?" "Don't you dare bring my family into this..." "What about your younger sister? Oh wait...didn't she die?" "..." "Yes, she died did she not?" "Y-y-yes..." "And how DID...she die?" "...She had a fever, and we didn't have money to pay a doctor...because..." "Because the crops weren't growing...because of the land's constant degrading state...We had no money..." "Yes...And why is the land like that?" "Because of the barrier..." "How sad, you find yourself in the overworld. But with no support, and no way to disable the one thing dooming your world." "..." "And how does this make you feel?" "How...it makes me feel?" "Yes...how do you feel, knowing all your effort up till now have been worthless and meaningless to the salvation of your world? That this prince, might have absolutely no effect on the queen and her decision...you go back to the world below, there is no way for you to come back here...and so goes the one person, possibly capable of saving it... so tell me. HOW DOES IT MAKE YOU FEEL?!" "It..." "Yes, it makes you angry does it not?" "Yes..." "Doesn't this unfairness make you weant to lash out and oppose the queen?" "Yes..." "But you won't achieve it...if you follow the prince back to his home...you know that...the only one who can do anything about all of this...is you." *The Conversation continues...* Henry stood deep in thought as the others interacted with one another. Helios in particular voicing his wishes. "The queen will not like you budging in with the matters of the barrier Helios...You know that, you know it too, prince." Henry's tone sounded different, It was rather calm, But it had an underlying tone of anger. Before he could comment further Gel finally appeared, making Henry laugh at his reason for missing out on the Trial and everything else. "Dude, don't even tell me, I slept like a rock in that bed too." Henry spoke with an honest smirk. But his expression changed the moment he said that one of the guards said that the queen wanted them gone immediately. "...!" Before Henry could say anything, anything at all. Ariana forced herself into his mind. Henry tried to hide the sinting feeling of pain as best he could, but it was too sudden. 'You leave...and all you've done till now will be worthless'. Ariana spoke in his mind, giving her input. The others wouldn't notice his left eye glowing brightly in her eye color as she spoke, because Henry had his hand covering his face. "Damn Migraines." Henry spoke, trying to hide. As he adopted a more, serious expression. Henry sighed, as he turned to look at the prince. "Will Maelstrome be able to carry everyone? Helios probably cannot leave until further orders from the queen. Might need to make multiple journeys. take Aura, Aurion and Gel first. If the guard try anything because we haven't left, It won't be because I gave them a reason." Henry proposed. Knowing full well, he had no intention of leaving the world. He was staying, god dammit. - Alicia - The Violet storm - Flowering hyssop alongside Dawson - "Well thats the blood of Royalty, natural magical power and proficiency is a given." Alicia joked as Dawson spoke of prince Jynn's hunts. "Though tackling a Deviljho and a Rajang at the same time is just plain Reckless." She commented Dryly. "Deviljho's aren't that bad to fight against, until they get pissed off and turn into Savage Deviljhos. Then things get messy" Alicia commented, she didn't know much about many of the exotic creatures of the Overworld, but she knew about the Deviljhos, Many a tale about adventurers losing their lives to such beasts, having made the mistake of pissing one off. Her eyes did widen when he spoke about Doom hounds and Deviljhos. "A Doom hound? Aren't they extinct?" She asked him. - Draksis - Raiden's villa - Breakfast - "A seeker of knowledge, I see." Draksis commented with a genuine smile, he always liked those who pursued their goals, going so far as to break rules for them. They had a certain...courage, others didn't have, Still It was sad to see such separation between the two worlds, and the history lacking as a result. "I don't know about anyone who might know the exact size of your kingdom. After all im nothing more than a humble warrior," Draksis explained humbly. As Ren offered his hand in introduction Draksis gave an honest smile once again, grabbing and shaking the Fey's hand. "Name's Draksis. Pleasure to meet you Ren." As they finished their introduction. Alastor passed by, whom had just left Raiden's study after leaving Rabyiu there to do the talking, he was sure Rabiyu wouldn't do anything, and much less that. (Will think of a post for Alastor tomorrow). Edited June 4, 2017 by Scrapmaster
Nero Kunivas 3,046 Posted June 5, 2017 -Arthur - Raiden's Villa - Breakfast with Curvis and Soren- Arthur's eyes gleamed at the conversation with Soren. However, he didn't expect such interaction from someone usually as calm as Curvis, but he didn't interrupt, instead listened while he reached one of the cupcakes that was settled around the middle after Soren's suggestion. In response Soren spoke his mind rather roughly, but understandably, angry, before calming back down. Arthur munched on his cupcake as he felt the tension between the two grow a bit too quickly for his liking. But this was to be expected, with such manners of topics at hand and all. He ended up unconsciously picking up like 3 more of them because Soren was right, oh god, they were perfectly scrumptious. He finished eating up one of the cupcakes as he listened. He decided to speak up a bit, to give his own opinion. "If I may," Arthur began, glancing between Curvis and Soren. He cleared his throat. "I like to understand that Lord Raiden is in a...tough position. He has been gracious enough to invite us and host us, despite there being an obvious law and hesitance against us humans due to the history...the word of a ruler just as a Queen is usually law, and I can understand that he would feel pressured to please one party over the other. He has his job cut out for him, for being only one man who has just brought two worlds together that many others would have wished to have remained separate." Arthur said, speaking his thoughts on the manner. "I think we should respect his decision, and if we are to do a decision on our own, to make sure that it does not affect Lord Raiden, as an independent party." Arthur said, smiling a bit. "At least, that is how I see it...if I were Raiden I would worry for myself and my people as well." Arthur said, before sitting back down and resuming to eat some cupcakes. --Curvis Sourati -- Dining Room: Raiden's Villa-- The cupcakes? --Ren Mordecai -- Dining Room: Raiden's Villa-- He rose his goblet to take another sip, and upon doing so he spotted a familiar man at a table opposite him. This nearly caused him to drop the goblet, and its contents within. The sight of Soren was both warming and heavily concerning. He once thought Soren as a friend, but if he were here, did this mean . . . that he was being followed by the queen? -Arthur - Raiden's Villa - Breakfast with Curvis and Soren- Arthur offered Curvis a cupcake as he ate his own. "Friend of yours, sir Soren?" - Draksis - Breakfast at Raiden's villa - "I think he means the diameter and size of our kingdom...or world." Draksis spoke as he walked into the scene, without any plate or food. Maxis simply gestured towards Meksis as the Chaperone spoke to him. --Ren Mordecai -- Raiden's Villa: Breakfast Table-- It was then he realized that he was being quite the motor-mouth since he'd arrived there. - Soren Monroe, Loyalty Wavering - Raiden's Villa: Breakfast Table - The humans, Arthur and Curvis, spoke their thoughts and views to Soren as he gladly listened. Arthur seemed sympathetic towards Raiden, citing that the man was in a tough position, unifying two worlds was indeed no small feat, Soren would have to admit. Curvis however seemed more like Soren, as well as surprisingly understanding of what was going on around him. They both raised good points in the end, so the fey cleared his throat, as the smallest bit of his apple hadn't quite gone down. "My heart tells me...that unity promotes prosperity. To cut you off, to isolate ourselves from the World Below, it is paramount to a stunting of our growth as a people and to culling your race as if it were a pest to be removed. If we were to remove the barrier, if we were to, come together as people after so long, I believe that we would all benefit, along with your world flourishing once more, I would hope at least." Soren spoke with a heavy heart, the suffering of the World Below being so great, yet the majority of Fey simply ignore it. "Queen Shiva is...complex, but not to the level of our host, Lord Raiden. They both mystify me greatly, combined with recent events it all leaves me...uncertain." He then admitted to the humans of his indecisiveness as of late. "I'm not ashamed to admit that I have flaws. Fey are not superior to you Humans, nor should we carry ourselves as such. I must decide on my place in all of this in time, but with everything that has transpired, I fear I have not done enough thus far." Soren concluded solemnly, realizing the grim tone of his voice, he turned to try and change the subject, or at least lighten the mood...but then he remembered. That man across on another table, with that woman...Arthur had noticed Soren's gaze turn and commented. "In a manner of speaking, yes. I believe I know him." Soren replied, regarding the man across the table, whom he partially recognized, but couldn't be sure. His curiosity got the better of him and he rose from his seat, gesturing to Arthur and Curvis. "Excuse me for a moment...I have to be sure." He uttered as he began his approach towards Ren and Raleigh, his thoughts racing. "It can't possibly be him, could it? Ren Mordecai is imprisoned in Isopolis...unless...he escaped because, I was not there? Him being here may mean Raiden had something to do with this? What would--? Argh, what else would he want with a Fey who can transform into a Dragon at will? Though he would have had to undo the curse placed upon him, restricting such power..." Soren's thoughts laid to rest as he was now close enough to the table with Ren, Raleigh, and Draksis(?), all conversing as Soren cleared his throat to announce himself, hands behind his back and expression strong. "Excuse me. Forgive me for interrupting your chatter, but, could I speak with this man for a moment, if you don't mind? He and I go a long way back and we've not spoken for a long time. Could I?" Soren spoke calmly, seeming eager to meet a long lost friend as he gestured to whom he suspected to be Ren Mordecai, now cleaned up and if he suspected correctly, under Raiden's Banner. - Meksis, The Chaperone, Armour of Light - Ivany's Lab - Meksis and Maxis walked out of the courtyard, the former having many questions on his mind that he wished to put forward to his comrade in metal, but he instead chose to keep them to himself, at least for now, as this Ivany interested him greatly. The two arrived at the door to her laboratory, with Maxis mentioning that many have doubts about the Plague Doctor who resides here. "Doubts, hmm? That's comforting...though, I think we can speak from personal experience that people fear what they don't understand." Meksis replied, but then chuckled as Maxis professed his faith in the good Doctor before letting her know they were here. As a muffled response called, the Armours entered the Lab, seeing that it was certainly worked in and lived in. Upon a sudden, Ivany herself appeared in a puff of smoke and greeted Maxis in an admittedly cute fashion, though Meksis withheld that opinion. His comrade then gestured to Meksis, requesting he introduce himself, to which he bowed. "So you are Ivany? The Plague Doctor I've heard about? My name is Meksis, though I have many names and titles, The Chaperone being one of them. I am honoured to be in your presence." Meksis humbly and gladly greeted Ivany, then he got curious. "So, what exactly do you do? What about us Armours intrigues you, dearest Ivany? And...can you help me?" He quizzed, the first two questions were delightfully curious, but the latter was tinged with the slightest bit of concern for his well-being, as the creak in his neck was starting to feel...well, far more odd than before.
