“There they are.” Vanity said. The dark being was dressed in her normal attire, a tight black outfit with a pattern of purple lines across her torso. She had a skirt-like piece of white cloth strapped behind her waist by a purple belt. Her pale face framed by pitch-dark hair parting to the right and extending down to her neck.
“Yup, that’s them alright.” Another dark being floated down onto the orange roof beside Vanity. He was dressed similarly but with a yellow color scheme. He stood a good few inches taller than his ally and his jet-black hair was short and spiked. “Perfect. Just perfect.”
“You’ll be taking the boy, Riven.” Vanity said, sharply.
He laughed. “You know I only have eyes for you, my sweet.”
Vanity blushed. “Y-yeah.”
“That’s enough you two.” Out of a dark corridor exited a third dark being, this one being a girl, like Vanity, she stood just as tall, her dark hair tied back in a braid. Her color was green. All three of them had golden-yellow eyes. “What are the details, Vanity?”
Riven sighed. “Always the party pooper, Vanessa.”
Vanity smiled at the distaste her friends seemed to have for each other. “The girl has a pure heart. It’s not light, it’s... something different. Whatever it is, it’s rubbed off on her brother.”
“Good enough for me!” Rivan declared. He summoned his Keyblade, Pride Gear, with teeth and and a guard taking after it’s name, the edges of the gears teeth were laced with yellow. At the hilt and the center of the head was each a blue reptilian, symbolizing the weapon’s darkness. “We’ll take them over and all that will be left will be getting you Aura.”
“Don’t be rash, Riven!” Vanessa said. “We can’t just jump into this.”
“I certainly can.” The three darknesses turned to see the boy that was just sitting at the clock tower not moments ago before them, Keyblade in hand. He stood only slightly shorter than Riven. He had plain, short brown hair and was dressed and a pair of beaten jeans and grey jacket unzipped to show a faded yellow shirt. His Keyblade was a luminous purple made up of intersecting purple lines leading up to three teeth. An orange charm hanging off the end as a keychain.
“We certainly can.” His sister was now beside him. Just barely shorter than her brother, making her slightly taller than Vanity and Vanessa. She wore dark leggings, a yellow skirt, and a blue shirt with baggy sleeves at the end. Her Keyblade was identical but with the purple and orange reversed.
Vanessa grimaced with disgust. “They think they can take us?” She summoned her Keyblade, Envy Gear, identical to Riven’s but with green as opposed to yellow. She charged at the sister.
“Who’s jumping into things now?” Riven teased. “Stay back, Vanity.” He followed in the charge.
The boy blocked Vanessa's attack and easily redirected himself around her, opening her up to a strike from his sister and opening a path for him toward Riven. They clashed.
“Why you little- urgh!” The girl lunged at Vanessa and in a burst of light she was shot back.
“Vanessa!” Vanity caught her friend. “You wait here.” She summoned her purple Void Gear and went to fight the girl in her friend’s place.
“Vanity no! Gah!” Vanessa clutched her side. “The little brat.” That blast put her in no condition to fight.
Riven was striking furiously at the boy. He blocked everything but fired no retort. “Why. Not. Stike. Back?!”
He swung around Riven’s next strike and hit him in the back with the flat of his Keyblade.
“Gah. How dare you strike me! And with such intentional weakness!” In his rage, his attacks grew sloppier and sloppier so he continually opened himself open to the boy’s counters.
“Riven!” Vanity barely blocked the girl’s strike. White and purple flames began to engulf her Void Gear. “I’ll teach you two to hurt my friends!” She knocked her Keyblade aside and struck her in the chest where the flames spread across her body.
“Cas-” The boy was cut short when he noticed Riven’s Keyblade sticking into his chest. He stumbled back. A glowing sphere drifted out of him. “Wait... is that my...” He collapsed.
Vanessa looked at the sister. Or... what remained of her that is. Her body had been burnt away and her heart floated there. “I guess that’s mine then.”
“I’ve got my prize!” Riven declared. Gripping the glowing sphere of light that came from the boy. There was a flicker of black in it. That flicker expanded to to take over the entire heart and it shattered. “Dang... What was that?”
The girl’s heart zoomed over and into her brother. In a flash of light the boy’s body was gone. As was his sister’s heart. I
