To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the PlayStation, Sony has released a special "Thank You" video on the PlayStation Youtube Channel. The video shows different video game franchises that have shaped the legacy of the PlayStation with a tagline "It's About" that is accompanied with a single word that best describes the game being shown. Many games are shown from God of War and Uncharted to Batman: Arkham Knight and Sly Cooper, but one video game series has been part of the PlayStation since the early 2000's: Kingdom Hearts. The shot from the intro of Kingdom Hearts III with Sora and the others facing off against Master Xehanort was shown in the video with the tagline "It's about Connection", symbolizing the connections that the PlayStation has with its fans similiar to Sora's connections in the series. So surprised no one has covered this yet. This is big news for anyone who has had this pipe dream for several years. It is finally going to happen! The first game getting Cross-Networking is Rocket League, which already allows PS4 users to play with PC users. No Xbox is going to join in and players across all platforms are able to play together! Catch is, Microsoft is opening this network, hoping that others will participate with them. So we need to hope Sony is open to participate in this. I have no doubts that they will. This is a great opportunity for gaming in general. It's a huge milestone that we need to make as a community. Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCE) and Sony Network Entertainment International LLC (SNEI) announced the formation of Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC (SIE), a new company that joins the forces of all business units belonging to SCE and SNEI, including hardware, software, content and network services operations. SIE will be headquartered in San Mateo, California, the United States, while also establishing key global business operations in Tokyo and London, beginning Friday, April 1, 2016.
