I've installed a pretty big behind-the-scenes update to our forum software, which is now running the latest version Invision Community (4.4, upgraded from 4.3). A comprehensive list of the changes is available here. The big ones imo are: - Guests can now make comments before registering (and are promoted to register once they click 'post') - There's a "GIF" button on the editor allowing you to easily reply with a GIF - Lots of speed/performance improvements As this was a pretty big update, a number of things may have broken. Please let me know if you see anything behaving weird.

I've released an Android app for KH13 on the Google Play store for all Android phones: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kh13.app I've also submitted an iOS app to the Apple App Store, but this takes up to a week to be reviewed and published. I think that we'll wait until both apps to be published before we announce it everywhere (on the homepage here and on our social media). But for now, please enjoy the Android app. So yeah, any feedback? It's a pretty simple app right now, basically just a wrapper for the mobile website. But it's nice to have as an app on the phone, and more importantly, I've implemented push notifications that hook into the KH13 notification systems. So if you're logged in on the app you'll get your KH13 notifications on your phone!

On October 10th, 2008, KH13 launched with the sole intention of uploading easily accessible high-quality cutscenes from the Kingdom Hearts franchise. And, while those humble beginnings did kickstart the website, KH13 eventually grew to tackle every facet of Kingdom Hearts, from news regarding video games to coverage on various forms of official merchandise. Now, KH13 boasts an immense, easy-to-navigate series of galleries housing several media such as official renders and artwork. Compiled interviews with series' staff members and timely news articles on the current state of affairs with the Kingdom Hearts franchise have also become embedded in KH13's identity. Scheduled events like the Fan Art Features, Polls of Week, and giveaways has bolstered our communication and connections with fellow Kingdom Hearts fans. Additionally, our consistent Birthday posts celebrating numerous franchise staff members and voice actors/actresses have aided in connecting the Kingdom Hearts community in ways I doubt anyone would have thought possible a mere decade ago. We have seen the Kingdom Hearts series grow considerably over the past few years. Kingdom Hearts III was finally released with the Re Mind DLC following only a year afterward. Melody of Memory was an unexpected sleeper hit that has helped prep us for the future with Re Mind's story. Next, Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross] concluded after over 5 years of service. Then Kingdom Hearts Dark Road began and went into hiatus as suddenly as it was announced. Still, its conclusion is only a few months away. The Kingdom Hearts games made their way to the Xbox platforms and PC, with Nintendo Switch releases looming over the horizon. As a result, the series is growing more accessible than ever before, and while there are still steps that need to be taken, such as the Cloud Gaming controversy of the Switch ports, the fact remains that more fans than ever before will have access to the series. We can't forget to mention that Sora has recently joined Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, a dream that many thought would simply remain that. A dream. Between that bombshell of an occurrence and the 20th anniversary of the franchise being only months away, the future will undoubtedly be full of equally colossal news, and we ask that you stick with us as we all greet it together. We want to thank Kimpchuu and Andrew Hankinson for all of the work they have put into creating custom graphics for us such as logos and banners! You can view some of the incredible logos they have made for us via our gallery below: KH13 has become the undeniable, go-to online locale for everything Kingdom Hearts-related, and we look forward to seeing it grow alongside all of you. On a personal note, while I have only been here for a few years, it's been a joyous time seeing both our community and the Kingdom Hearts series prosper with one another. KH13 has been here for 13 years, and despite this comical numeric tie-in with the Kingdom Hearts series itself, we have no intention of stopping our qualitative and consistent coverage. Regardless of the uncertainty a post-Kingdom Hearts III world once brought, the future is looking brighter than ever before, and we're eager to see it. Thank you for sticking with KH13 and here's to 13 more years! View full article

Have you ever wanted to take over KH13, but could never find the courage to post in the roleplaying section so your attempts end up like this: I feel you man, but then, I saw my safe haven, a post about that utter waste of cardboard cocaine that I am hopelessly addicted to: YUGIOH And this fellow members, is how I win ? You're welcome

I wanted to add this to the discussion thread but I saw it was locked, hopefully this is the best way to do this. I've been using the forums for almost four years now and I just want to say that overall the new update is great. It also adds stuff that I thought was a pipe dream (liking statuses for example). I just want to put forward a few suggestions however, my number one being the Discord linked threads specifically the General thread. That channel is essentially the reincarnated KH13 chatroom, (which had a few dedicated users). I really don't think that the post count for users should be increased for posting things that would break the rules of the forum if they were posted here. I think the linking thing is great, it really increases some more cohesion between the site and the chat but I do feel that some quality control should happen too. Like for example, I have faaar too many posts but how many of them are idiotic one liners that are more suited to Random than the Lounge? Basically all of them. If the post count could be turned off there that would be great. My other sorta nitpick is something that I know the admins and mods don't really like, but it's a feature that a lot of the users really miss; status updates. I know they're still there, but lets compare what someone who knows about the site has to do to get a similar status updates feature now compared to pre-update; - Go to the social tab (which is FILLED with discord posts) - Filter out the content by status updates - Save it as a new stream - Rinse and repeat every time you want to see statuses It doesn't seem like a lot, and honestly having to go through all this to access just status updates wouldn't bother me so much if we still had a few on the sidebar. They encourage a lot of user interaction, and honestly almost all of my friendships were made over the statuses. I know the mods are worried about statuses replacing discussion, but if the discord hasn't done that yet then what harm can statuses do? The truth is statuses were really mostly used between friends or acquaintances to meme about and have a bit of fun. Now that they're so invisible we see no interaction and that's a little sad, it was such a cool feature of KH13. I know of one user who even managed to collab with a youtuber because of the status feature. It's essentially a mini version of twitter on the site and it was fun to talk to people who you otherwise wouldn't because they posted something visible. If you look at the most recent statuses now, there is NO interaction and that's not because of lower activity, it's because they've been hidden. I've made my case against what I feel is the one reason why statuses have been downplayed, and I hope it's one that's good enough. If we really can't have them on the front page again, then honestly a separate tab JUST for statuses would be super nice too. Also Please bring back Square Avatars!

A scattered dream that's like a far off memory.... In less than 15 hours, everyone will be able to have access to the magnum opus of our continued existence on places such as these; I am of course talking about Kingdom Hearts III. I have a confession to make. Today especially, but in previous days too, I've been feeling kinda wistful and nostalgic. So much so in fact, that once or twice the thought has passed through my head, the thought 'Do I really want this game to come out?' The answer? Of course I do! I've been in pain over the past few days seeing everyone else on my continent play and not me. No, that's not the reason for my blasphemous ruminations. I've been having these weird thoughts lately.... I've come to realise that for five and a half years, I've been in this waiting position. And I've grown used to it and I find comfort in it, because it's my normal. It's my normal to live in a world where KH3 doesn't exist. And in that world, being a part of the rumblings and mumblings of KH13 became my bread and butter. My childhood, and more pertinently, my teenage years, have been shaped by this site. This place was it's own little microcosm of the huge, crazy, loud world we live in, and overall, I can say that I loved it, and I'd do it all over again, even the bad parts. There were groups of friends on this site who probably never even interacted with the other, there were people on here that you probably only knew in passing, there were those users who seemed like you could make a connection with them but then they went afk indefinitely, there were users whose personalities shone through even the bright glare of the internet and became a cult onto themselves and then there were the bigwigs of this place. 2015 was when I joined, but of course, I had been lurking for much longer than that. To the users of that era who are no longer here, for whatever reason, I hope you get to enjoy this communal swansong. I had some of the best times on here, and I'll hold them with me for years to come. I won't forget this place, and everyone I ever interacted with, I'll never forget you too. Five and a half years ago, I was sitting in a corner of my parents room where there was a beanbag, it was the day before E3 2013, and I was on KHUltimania looking up news. Tonight, five and a half years later, I'm sitting in the same corner, except, it's my room now, that I share with my two sisters, and sometimes my cousin, and there's no beanbag, I'm sitting on my sisters bed, and it's not the night before E3 2013 where I'm hoping for news of a Dreamcast 2 and maybe (just maybe?) Kingdom Hearts 3, it's the night before the release of Kingdom Hearts III. A game, without me having played it, has brought so much emotion and colour to my life, and so many friends, who without, I would be a much lesser person. A stand before you no longer a 14 year old that lurks on Web pages trying to find news, but someone who's going to be 20 in not-so-long, and is happy to call herself someone who grew up here. It feels like this game, will really be the end of my childhood, however, I hope its the beginning of someone else's, and I hope this place is still around for that kid to grow up on, and make mistakes and learn, and enjoy, and I hope it becomes the beginning of their journey, like it has been for mine.

Overview of Everglow's new Kingdom Hearts Timeline video series
Raxaimus posted an article in Kingdom Hearts News
As a long-standing creator of guides and creative videos on the Kingdom Hearts series, Everglow has provided the Kingdom Hearts community with countless hours of enjoyable content. His latest and most ambitious video series, serves as a comprehensive look into the entire series’ chronology, from the elaborate schemes of Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover, to the most recent voyage that we see Sora and pals embark on in the epilogue of Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage-. Kingdom Hearts Timeline sets itself apart from similar projects by featuring each and every story event in absolute chronological order, instead of using flashbacks or revealing information in the order it was originally presented. As an example, during Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, the birth of Vanitas will be shown before the Mark of Mastery exam, despite the fact that this flashback is normally seen during the later hours of Ventus' story. This strict adherence to the series' chronology is emphasized by the intricate timeline that is displayed at the beginning of each episode. Similar to another of Everglow’s projects, the editing in Kingdom Hearts Timeline is both detailed and professional, resulting in perhaps the most visually and audibly appealing representation of the series to date. This detailed editing has already delighted many fans, and it will undoubtedly get even better as the series progresses. Most recently as of the writing of this article, Everglow has taken a more creative approach to his Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep-related content than ever before. In this instance, since Eraqus' conversation with Aqua about the Land of Departure's secret was only heard through dialogue in the game's final episode, no visual footage of this moment actually exists. However, a special cutscene, which Everglow calls "Case of Aqua", was created completely from scratch to showcase this moment, and will soon be featured in Kingdom Hearts Timeline. You can view this new cutscene below: Everglow intends for Kingdom Hearts Timeline to be fully available before the release of Kingdom Hearts III. From his description of the series, he states the following: We hope that you continue to enjoy Kingdom Hearts Timeline as we steadily get closer to the release of Kingdom Hearts III! For continued updates on the series, be sure to follow Everglow's Twitter account. With the staggering amount of work he is putting into the project, you won't want to miss a thing! What is your favorite part of Kingdom Hearts Timeline so far? What part are you looking forward to most? Let us know in the comments below! -
Hey there everyone! This was attempted quite a while ago and it never came to a conclusion, much like the Judai vs Yugi duel at the end of GX. I really wanted to make one again and hopefully have some success this time Ideally, I'd like at least 8 participants in a single elimination/Swiss-style (depending how many people we get). The plan is to use YGOPRo to conduct matches. Click this to learn how download if you haven't already. If for some reason everyone can't get access to this software, we'll just stick to Dueling Book instead. T_T Rules: Only TCG cards are allowed Master Rule 4 (sorry to those of you who haven't played in a while but you'll have to get up to speed with Link Monsters and such) Abide by the December 2018 Forbidden & Limited list found here with some adjustments (No Topologic Gumblar Dragon or Number 86: Heroic Champion - Rhongomyniad) Only one deck per player is to be used. Everyone will be required to submit a decklist to me to verify entry. No changes can be made after submission. No current tier 1 meta decks (Sky Striker, Thunder Dragon, Altergeist), but you can incorporate cards from these archetypes into other decks if you so wish....lol Obviously, reply down below if you'd be interested. I hope to begin this one week from now assuming I get enough people. I hope you're all as excited as I am for this! Peace!

We are pleased to reveal that a new feature has been added to KH13! Now, if a streamer links their Twitch account with their KH13 account and they are livestreaming any game in the Kingdom Hearts series, a link to their stream will appear in the sidebar of the site. This sidebar addition is located on the right-hand side, between the daily poll and the recently updated topics. It can be seen on the homepage, forum, and video archive. For anyone interested in this feature, you will need to press the “Add Your Stream” button at the bottom of the stream list, and sign in with Twitch on the following page to link your accounts. Whenever you are streaming a Kingdom Hearts game, make sure to set the "Playing [X]" field of your Twitch stream to anything containing “Kingdom Hearts” (e.g. Kingdom Hearts HD II.8: Final Chapter Prologue) in order for your stream to appear. Otherwise, your stream will not show up in the list. Once your stream is in the list, your username, the viewer count, the game's title, and a snapshot of your stream will be shown. You can view an example of this feature below, as KH13 staff member Toominator has linked his account and is live at the time of this article’s publication. Whether you are attempting to beat a speedrun record or are enjoying a series recap, we hope to see plenty of fans streaming the series in the days leading up to Kingdom Hearts III’s release! Let us know your thoughts on this feature in the comments below! View full article
