(Warning: I might fly off the handle on this one. Be prepared.) And yes, I realize the irony of my title... deal with it. Alright, so in our modern society, we've adopted a list of words that are used commonly among today's youth, including kids, teens, and adults (and the elderly if you have, like, hip grandparents or something). I could name them all right now, but most of these terms are so stupid, me just bringing most of them up would make me puke into my cereal bowl. So I ain't doing it. What I will do is deconstruct one of the words that makes me cringe the most, and surprisingly doesn't make me want to puke: haters. *holds back vomit* Okay, never mind... Blarg, anyways, this term is pretty much something that only the ignorant sort of folk that mostly live in our generation use. Haters, by definition, are people who are "hateful" towards you and serve to criticize you immensely because they simply cannot be happy with your success or your high standards. Already, you should be able to see the immense flaws in this logic. This term is mostly used by rappers and people on the internet, which also proves just how flawed it is. Admittingly, I've used the word too, but only when I want to act like the stupid people that say this word and more on a daily basis... its fun. So here's a secret for you: haters are not REAL. Yeah, that's right, haters are not a thing! These people that claim have haters don't have haters at all! They just have people who criticize their work, because newsflash, not everything you do is gonna be perfect! But no, they have to be stupid and make it sound like people are literally hating their work for the sake of hating. You ever stop to think that maybe they're saying these things because a) they see your flaws and want you to improve upon them to get better or b) in reality, you suck donkey ass at what you do? THINK A LITTLE. Most rappers nowadays are terrible anyway, so that's why they're so prone to not only receive criticism, but use the terms "haters" to defend themselves. You hear it in hip hop and rap songs all the time, by people like Lil' Wayne and Drake and Nicki Minaj: "Forget the haters" "F**k the haters" "I don't need no haters". And then they have their fans back them up and say how awesome they are and how the "haters" are wrong. Here's another NEWSFLASH: You and your dumbass fans are not defending yourselves from criticism when you speak out against "haters", you're IGNORING your own flaws and making yourself look like an arrogant jackass who shouldn't be making music at all!! The same goes for anybody else that uses this term. If you're being criticized for your work, don't assume that people are hating on you. Nobody is going to hate what you're doing just for the sake of hating (okay maybe they will, but they're probably just trolls.). People have reasons to why they're criticizing you, and you need to open your eyes and accept it. Don't ignore it like a pansy ass and brush them off and surround yourself with ONLY people who kiss your ass and say how great you are, because sometimes you need to be told what you're dong wrong so that you can only get better. That's the mature thing to do. So I've said my piece. Do you agree with me, or do you think I'm just "hating" on "haters"... if that's even possible?
