Now I know everyone has kinda already said it but kingdom hearts 3 is still floaty. Even though its less floaty than BBS or even 0.2, the floatyness is still present. Some people seem to equate floatyness to just slow combos and while yeah, slow combos are part of the problem, it ain't just that. Kh2 (the best game in the series) is not characterized as fluid just cause it has fast combos. Firstly, the animations transition flawlessly, even when you as the player cut them short. The way sora transitions between each hit feels organic and looks amazing, something that kh3 butchers since, especially in air combos, sora seems to move a set amount forward for each hit and he has some really abrupt transitions between each hit as well. Like really abrupt. An other contributing factor to the floaty feeling is gravity. There is a FAR better overall feeling of gravity and conservation of momentum in kh2 than in kh3. I don't think much needs to be said on gravity. In kh2 while performing aerial combos, gravity is noticeably present and sora doesn't just stay in the same altitude for the whole combo like in kh3. When it comes to conservation of momentum its a bit more complicated. In kh2 when you aerial dodge for example and follow it up with gliding, the velocity you gain by the dodge gives you a jump start and you reach the top gliding speed faster. This is probably the simplest way to explain this. Even attacks give sora a boost. Aerial finish for example gets sora closer to the enemy while it takes place and turns him to wherever the enemy is being thrown. Its basicaly trying to have sora facing the enemy all the way through while also giving him a boost to really reach whatever he is going after. The complete lack of understanding of this concept by Osaka team is really noticeable when looking at how they brought back this same finisher. In kh3, aerial finish has sora stationery in the air and many of the hits end up missing the target cause the attack doesn't change direction if needed like it would in kh2. Its like Osaka team, when deciding to bring it back, only looked at how flashy and cool it looks and missed the point with everything that makes it useful and satisfying. This problem is shared with most of sora's finishers in kh3. An other part of the problem with "floatyness" is the responsiveness of the controls. In kh2, any action performed was really snappy and precise. You'd press a button and IMMEDIATELY, sora would act accordingly. In kh3 there is this sort of input lag that prevents sora from feeling truly responsive. If I wanna perform my basic 4 hit combo in kh3 I gotta mash the x button like 10 times, a problem that was never there in kh2. All of that combined with slower combos is the real problem and the reason kh3 still fails to deliver a truly fluid combat experience. No, it doesn't suffer from these issues as much as BBS but it definitely isn't free of them either.

The biggest complaint, and what many have called a "Flaw" in KH3's combat is a seemingly overwhelming variety of options and being forced to use Situation Commands, in particular the Attraction Rides. Venturing into the Abilities Tab in the Main Menu shows that many of these Situation Commands can be disabled as Sora gains them,or simply ignored in combat. Going to the Config Tab allows disabling the cut scenes before a Keyblade Transformation, Attraction Ride or Summon, ect. The gameplay can and should be tailored to each individuals preferred style of play, and this was something seemingly overlooked as a feature in early reviews, as if the player had no way to disable any special commands, or could simply cycle through the ones available. This to me seemed unfair to neglect mentioning in reviews, and although KH3 has received mostly glowing critiques, the deep customization options that have been prevalent since KH2 are just as integral to the gameplay as ever, and even more so considering the sheer variety of options now present.

I know the game hasn't come out yet, but still I have noticed two peculiar and interesting things. One of them, Shotlock, was already mentioned about. However, I don't know to what extent. The other one is about the Keyblade Transformations. Let's go further on them: 1) Shotlock I don't remember what was mentioned, but I have checked that most Keyblades (if no all) have a same option of Shotlock: Flowmotion. Was it confirmed if all of them have this shotlock? It consists of going through the selected enemies and unleashing some finisher attack. Aside from this, each Keyblade has two other types of Shotlock. For example, Kingdom Key has "Snakebite" and "Ragnarok", at "max" stat. However, Agile Claws (I guess that's the name) also has the Snakebite option when the shotlock isn't on the "max" stat. At first I thought it was common to all the keyblades, but then I looked further and noticed that Hypper Hammer had "Ghost Harde" instead. I have made a picture where you can check all of this. So I wonder, do you guys think that the Shotlock on non-max stat depends on the environment or is there something like three types of shotlock divided into all the keyblades? 2) Keyblade Transformations We already know that each Keyblade will have two different transformations. However, I noticed something peculiar that I don't remember (too) if it was mentioned. Take a loot at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wK15vNqgn74&t=4m25s Is this another way of using the Keyblade? For what I understood, there is the normal combo attack which leads to the finisher and then there is the Keyblade's finish option when the bar is filled. But on the video, it seems that there's another type of attack. I'm guessing it's by pressing Square or Circle. I don't remember if it was mentioned anywhere, however...It would really be cool if all Keyblades Transformations could have this type of attack too! I am sorry if maybe I am speculating too much or if I gave some wrong info. Let me know what you guys think about all of this (also, yay first topic ) Image: https://image.prntscr.com/image/GjdtB4cNQxis-W8JubyaVQ.png

Here I will be discussing a topic that I believe deserves more attention than it's been given. The leveling system in Kingdom Hearts 3 is a huge topic of discussion amongst the Kingdom Hearts Community, yet not many people have decided to jump in and tackle the idea head on. So, I bring to you a complete analysis and concept design for the leveling system, keyblade transformations, forms, and much more! I put 48+ hours of work into this video so if you enjoyed this video feel free to leave a like to help support my channel and content. Thank you so much for watching

Hello! I’m wanting to replay the entire Kingdom Hearts series (1.5+2.5 PS4, 2.8, Re:Coded, 358/2 Days), but I’d like to do it while only using the default keyblade from each game (Kingdom Key, Rain Fell, etc.). Do you have any recommended difficulty modes? I’m also wanting to try and go for any secret endings, as well as defeat the secret bosses. I heard this may be an issue in BBS (during the Mirage Arena?), but I’m planning on using the “upgraded” versions of their keyblades (Ends if the Earth, Storm Fall). TLDR, is it even possible to do all that I want to do with the default keyblade and what difficulty should I do for each game? Thank You!

I really want Sora, Donald, Goof, and any other party member we have in KH3 to talk to each other during gameplay like the characters do in Final Fantasy XV. It would be hilarious to hear Sora and Donald constantly bickering with each other. Imagine if Sora even got upset with Donald if he doesn't heal him or something like that. It would flesh out the characters a whole lot more and make them feel like actual people who you can get to know and relate to along your massive journey.

Hello everyone. A I didn't had the chance to play 0.2 yet (I will in February), but as I was searching for gameplay reviews on the internet, I only ended up on either "Lol graphics so stuning 5/7" or complains. Those complains makes me waver about KH3, naturally (Osaka team, pls). As a KH2FM critical lv1 lover, I'm pretty concerned about the gameplay and I would like to have a feedback about it. So I'm creating this thread for people to make their review/critique of 0.2 gameplay (and gameplay only) and maybe discuss about what is good and what is bad, without spoiling the story, of course.

Square Enix has just released a 50 minute video of the first few chapters of FFXV's master version (pre-day 1 patch). Game is looking pretty good. I saw a few frame-rate drops but i guess this is why they delayed it another 2 months to address this issue. Im hoping for a PS Neo version that runs at 1080p 60FPS

I've been thinking about a topic that has Been coming up in the KH community lately, that has to do with the game mechanics of KH3. We've all complained or thought how "slow" BBS and 3D has felt gameplay wise. What I mean is the lag in combos and dodges that you experience. What I'm getting at is I hope that KH3 won't be another broken game that you can just spam 1 OG move and dodge over and over again. KH2 have you a variety and a strategy to gaming. And I am scared that with the same team the worked on those handheld games, namely Osaka, will do the same to the next big installment. Bring the Tokyo Team back! We know they can make great KH games.

Hey there everyone, how's it going!? So then, I was going to post this topic tomorrow, but I decided to post it now, so here I go! So then, I was talking with RoxasKoala about what could possibly be shown this year regarding Kingdom Hearts III, and as we talked, I suddenly thought of a theory regarding Keyblade Transformations! And, for said theory, I thought of Lea! As you all know, Lea got a Keyblade at the end of Dream Drop Distance, and while that's awesome and all, I just love his chakrams! And so, that's when I thought of this! Let's say that Lea masters the art of Keyblade transformation. Think about what that would mean! Just imagine Lea, summoning his Keyblade for battle, and as he starts fighting hordes of Heartless, a sudden flash of light takes place, and his Keyblade transforms into his two chakrams, and then he goes on a berserk onslaught, and then, he transforms his chakrams back into his Keyblade, and then he finishes the combo with an explosive Firaga spell, or something along those lines! Doesn't that sound awesome!? If Nomura is trying to implement Keyblade Transformations for every Keyblade Wielder, I'm sure this is how Lea would more or less work! And well, we already know how Ven, Terra and Aqua work with Keyblade transformations, so all that's left now is to see how Keyblade transformations would work on all the other characters! So then, what do you all think of this?

What's more important in the kingdom hearts series to you? Gameplay or story? I've seen people say the story is the most important thing, and say they absolutely loved a game because of the story even thought they didn't like the gameplay, and hate a game that they didn't like the story from even though they liked the gameplay. Personally i find that to be pretty stupid but that doesn't matter. I'm not saying you have to only love one of them, i'm just curious on which one you guys think is more important

This thread is to discuss the little things that can be added or changed to gameplay that would make KH3 better than past games. For example: I think it would be neat if you can manually target individual allies to specific enemies mid battle. Maybe with the use of the L2 and R2 buttons since they currently have no use. It would add more strategy to fights and could make some boss fights more interesting. If command styles are brought back, they shouldn't have to be mandatory to change into them. What are some little things you'd like to see in KH3? Please only discuss things to improve gameplay.
