Bandai Namco have announced that Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth and Digimon Crusader will be coming to North America! Digimon Crusader will be released later this year on both the iOS and Android under the name Digimon Heroes and will be free to play. Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth will be released next year on PS4 and PS Vita. The game will retain is oroginal Japanese name rather than be changed to Digimon World as the series usually is (in Japan the two are separate series while in America they take advantage of Digimon World's established popularity) While the game will be digital only on Vita, the PS4 will have a retail version as well. This is huge! Digimon games dissappeared from American shores after Digimon World Championship back in 2010 until last year when we got Digimon All-Star Rumble, a fighting game that did not live up to expectations. Digimon World Championship was more a breed-and-battle simulation game and as stated before, All-Star Rumble was a fighter while Digimon Heroes is a card RPG. This makes Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth the first true Digimon JRPG to reach America in 8 years! (9 by the time it's released). Yes folks it seems like Digimon has risen from the ashes like a mighty Hououmon. With these two games and the 6 part Digimon Adventure tri movie special Digimon fans will have their patience rewarded! We may even get Digimon World Re: Digitize Decode, yes it's older than Cyber Sleuth, but Digimon Crusader came out in 2012 and has already ceased operation in Japan. If we can get these games, why not that one? It's a great time to be a fan!
