*Spoilers* KH3 Chat
jbmasta replied to KH13's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
Take out Magma Titan first, when he gets flappy arms just dodge roll dodge roll dodge roll. Use airstep to launch yourself at it, but don't stay too long because it has a headbutt attack that you can't afford to take too many of. For the opening Wind Titan attack when it chucks buildings at you, block them back to cause some damage. -
KH1 was certainly the only game I can recall where the Reports, or their counterparts like the diaries in Days, were actually referenced by the characters in the game. The other games don't mention them at all and it's more a way of delivering or expanding on lore beyond what the story contained.

Whao, hang on? Does this mean Re:mind goes live tomorrow in New Zealand instead of midnight of the 23rd NZ time? -

I have a feeling I'll be doing a lot of grinding. Critical Mode is pretty daring for me, no way I'm touching a Level 1 Critical Mode run. -

At least San Fransokyo has landmarks you can use to navigate. Some of the vents aside, Toy Box is a well designed and easy to navigate world. -

One very good thing about the synthesis is the Keyblade Forge. I've played Dream Drop Distance so much I know the maps like the back of my hand, locations of the chests as well as Nightmare spawning points included. -

The lack of ability to pull up the map with the touch pad button, which doesn't even have the eyeline feature the Final Mixes added to previous games had, is a big miss. Given how big some of the maps get, and how tricky it can be to get around (like the marshlands in Corona or the mountain in Arendelle) it would have been much appreciated. -
Red and Blue came out 2005/2006, Red on the GameBoy Advance and Blue on the Nintendo DS, so Diamond and Pearl weren't released yet. Weavile, Bonsly, Mime Jr., and Lucario appear as statues, while Munchlax appears as an NCP, as all five had appeared in the anime during the Hoenn and Battle Frontier seasons with Munchlax appearing as early as the movie corresponding to the second of four seasons in that anime series. Munchlax debuted in the Destiny Deoxys film, which is also where it was shown to evolve into Snorlax and May catches one in Advanced Battle. Brock and James obtain Bonsly and Mime Jr. respectively in the Battle Frontier season, while Lucario and the Mystery of Mew has Lucario and Weavile, Weavile also appearing in a Battle Frontier episode. From memory Gen 4 is the generation to have most Pokemon debut before the games that represent it, with a handful of Battle Frontier episodes being filler focusing on specific species like Weavile and Chatot, as well as Gary having Electivire which is where Sinnoh is directly named and what inspires Ash to journey there.

Don't have any links yet, only got Fire, Water and Shotlocks. I've NG+'d all the Keyblades expect for Ultima Weapon and the black and white one. -

I'm doing a Crit run and up to the three Titans boss fight at Olympus. Any advice on strategies? -
Seeing that Kairi is playable is easily the most exciting part of the trailer. She's a character who's played a very passive role in the series despite being an important character since the very first game, and to finally get to play as her will be immensely satisfying since until now she's been the only main character not to be playable in any game (the whole Org, plus Riku, Donald, Goofy, Mickey and Sora are playable in Days).

The trick is to grind for munny and experience so you can level up the techniques and meld for better techniques and gain abilities. Bit of time and effort, you can rise levels and get -ga level techniques. The biggest obstacle for me in Birth by Sleep was Ice Cream Beat, only ever completed it twice. What difficulty level did you get stymied on? One good strategy when low on HP is to use D-Links, with the Ventus D-Link being particularly useful for the quicker attacks, not to mention your health being restored upon using the D-Link.

I've got the artbooks for 1.5, Birth by Sleep Collectors Edition and 3. If I win Lotto I'll buy the 2.5 artbook.

Which Mechanic in Kingdom Hearts is Your Favorite?
jbmasta replied to ArinCLOUDTOP's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Not to mention the Keyblade Forge function of the Moogle Shops, which further makes Keyblades more viable no matter what point in the game you obtain them. Favorite Deputy is excellent for farming synthesis material for example and it's obtained in the third world. -

The best thing about Keyblade transformations is that they're a lot more intuitive than the other mechanics. The other options have some degree of needing to work out or look up how to obtain or level up, such as how to get experience towards each Drive Form or how to obtain each Command Style. Transformations are easy to work out because the option to trigger them comes up on the screen and are simple. You can access one further level of transformation, which changes your shotlock and finisher. It's so open for experimentation. -
While I know it's very, very unlikely, I'd like to see Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days and re:coded rereleased in their original form in some way. Chain of Memories could be ported to the Switch, since it originated a GBA game. 3DS store would have been a good place for Days and re:coded, allowing for a readily available way to play them as games rather than the movies on the 1.5 and 2.5 compilations.

Which Mechanic in Kingdom Hearts is Your Favorite?
jbmasta replied to ArinCLOUDTOP's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Got to go with Keyblade transformations. Not enough to break the game yet the variety makes it a versatile mechanic and doesn't require an equalizer like a drive meter or Anti Sora. You can choose when and if you want to activate it, and switch Keyblades to keep the transformation in reserve for when you need it. Visually amazing as well, like Crystal Snow's second form finisher and Wheel of Fate gives you extra range with your Keyblade swipes and jabs. Being able to summon watery Kraken tentacles is even better. The fact you don't need to level them up, eliminating grinding, the icing on the cake. -
Which Kingdom Hearts Trio is Your Favorite?
jbmasta replied to Ventus_'s topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Roxas, Axel and Xion. We see them meet and get close, we become invested as they do in keeping things together when it's all falling apart. Their losses are just as much our losses. We see their day to day, not just the out of the ordinary, and we want that to continue. It hurts as the days grow fewer and the end comes for the friendship. There's too much tell not show with the friendship between Terra, Aqua and Ventus. We're told they're close friends, but outside of selected flashbacks in Birth by Sleep there isn't a lot to back it up because the plot relies on the breakdown of their friendship due to miscommunication or lack of communication. Ventus never explains Vanitas' warning about Terra, Terra never says anything about why he needs to prove himself worthy and Aqua is so up herself she ends up making things worse. -
Gravity Falls would well with Kingdom Hearts. The general acceptance of weirdness the locals have means they wouldn't bat an eyelid at Heartless, and Stan would probably want to use Donald or Goofy for the Mystery Shack.

So I was watching the first episode of Gravity Falls last night on Disney+, and one of Mabel's many sweaters, specifically when she's going on the date with Norman, says Meow Wow (it's got a cat face in the middle and sparkles). One of the Dream Eaters in Dream Drop Distance is called Meow Wow, it's in Sora's Dream Eater tutorial. What if a Gravity Falls world somehow incorporates the Dream Eaters? They'd fit Mabel's overly happy personality perfectly (her perfect world in the Weirdmageddon series finale is so sweet you want to throw up and it'd be rainbows) and a Nightmare Gideon would fit as a world boss while still being in Gravity Falls continuity. A dream setting would also justify Mabel and Dipper as world party members, using the dreamscape to give them powers they lack in reality. It actually happened in the show.

Watched the most recent episode of Wellington Paranormal, with the old phones coming alive. The humour was brilliant as usual, Minogue calling O'Leary's mother Mrs Mum for example, and unexpected emotional depth. The most hilarious take on a typical hollywood hacking sequence as well.
