That's what I'm going to do. I'll download the Critical Mode update, but I'm waiting for the story DLC updates before I do another full on playthrough of the game. It'll be worth it to play at a higher difficulty with new cutscenes, and this time I won't be rushing through just to see Roxas and the gang comeback lol.

Riku Replica feels done. He had a noble sacrifice and his final worlds gave the impression that he doesn't want to come back. I really like Riku Replica, but there's not much left for him to do in the series. I wouldn't mind references to him every now and again, but not much you can do with him going forward beyond support backup. Vanitas I could see return, but in a much smaller role, maybe even optional boss context. Storyline wise Vanitas also feels done, unless they do something with Ventus's story that requires him. That I could see happening. With Vanitas it's not really about "how" he'll comeback it's more of a "will" he comeback.

Older audiences
SweetYetSalty replied to Iscreamer1's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
Kingdom Hearts does have it's mature themes and moments, but it's still Disney and should stay the way it is. I'm in my 30's and I still have lots of enjoyment playing Kingdom Hearts. I still play games like Pokemon, Spyro, and Mega Man as well. These are all E for everyone games. And Kingdom Hearts should be for everyone in terms of rating. It's got Disney. No matter how dark it gets, and each game has it's dark themes you can only go so dark when your pals with Goofy, Donald Duck, and Mickey Mouse. -
I very much like this idea of everyone splitting up to search for something or someone between different realms to get ready for the next saga. With Sora missing, subject X, the Foretellers, Ventus's past, and Xigbar all to deal with there are chores for everyone to do. The MoM/Foreteller saga is going to need some building up if they want it to get the same level of hype that the Xehanort saga did. As for Kairi, I don't know. She's long overdue to be playable but simply making her overpowered with a Keyblade won't automatically make her a amazing character. Still, I'm in her corner and hope she'll get better treatment going forward.

Shipping is cute for fanart and stuff, but to be honest I don't want any of them to be canon in the game. I want to focus on friendship over romance in Kingdom Hearts. This allows the boys and girls to interact with one another without the restrictions of a relationship holding them back. Sora and Kairi are the closest thing to a "relationship" and even now it's still vague so Sora can hang out with Rapunzel or other girls. I hope they keep the focus on friendship in the series and leave the romance to the imagination of fans. I've always preferred friendship stories over romance ones in fiction anyway.

This is such a touchy subject that I need to be careful how I phrase my words. I both agree and disagree on the FF characters being in the game. When it comes to the FF characters, Leon/Squall, Yuffie, Aerith, and Cid are the four that really stand out as the characters that should stick around. I was not expecting them to have a big role in KH3, but it would have been nice to see them call Sora and offer any help they can in helping Mickey and Riku find Aqua or something to keep them relevant. And I think that would be the hardest thing for them. Staying relevant outside of being FF characters. Ansem the Wise and his crew have basically replaced them because they are far more relevant to the Xehanort saga. And now that the Wayfinder and Seasalt trio are all back, Keyblades blazing, they'll likely be Sora's fighting allies when something big arises. That's not to say that Leon's crew should be cut from the series, I don't want that. Again, they could have offered help in saving Aqua, or help Ienzo research the replicas or the three hearts in Sora. There were ways to put them in the story, so I don't agree with the argument that they couldn't be put into the game. But their role would certainly be reduced from the previous two, which I'm personally okay with. Just don't get rid of them. Another thing I keep saying is have Final Fantasy characters as party members in some Disney worlds. They could have put one in Frozen to go along with Marshmellow. Why not have Snow from FFXIII be in Big Hero Six's world trying to join the team as a hero himself? Would have been a great humorous appearance, and he can join Sora along with Baymax as a Hero intern. The FF characters can work, but I would only want them if they can contribute to the actual story. KH2 gave me two characters that worked really well and worked not so well IMO. Auron was done almost perfectly and next to Leon, Yuffie, Aerith, and Cid I consider him a great example on how to put a FF character into KH and have their backstory gel with the ongoing plot of the world they are in. Auron worked so well with Hades's underworld storyline. His background was there but it didn't feel forced and gave you just enough to learn about what kind of man he was even if you hadn't played the game, and hadn't played FFX by then. And most of all Auron contributed to the Hercules vs Hades ongoing feud. But then there are the not so great. Don't know about everyone else but I wasn't the biggest fan on how poorly they put Tifa in KH2. She felt like blatant FF7 advertisement rather then a character. Shocking since the other FF7 characters were done so well. People usually point to Vivi or the Gullwings, but Tifa's the one that comes to mind for me when I think of wasted appearances. So these kinds of cameos I can do without. I'm also a fatigued with Sephiroth. I did want him to appear in KH3 so we could finish him off with Cloud and Tifa, but I was hoping that would be the end of it, and we'd get a new FF secret boss optional storyline for KH4 and beyond. Because there are so many wonderful FF villains we haven't even touched the surface of yet, so it would get boring to just keep doing Sephiroth over and over again. But they should have at least fully ended that storyline as a optional boss in and give Cloud a proper send off. So yeah, those are my thoughts on the matter. I think the Final Fantasy characters do have a place in Kingdom Hearts and should be able to appear and help out because they are part of the world too. I support them appearing. But I also acknowledge that the original KH characters are more then enough to carry the series without them now. Because while it would have been nice if they appeared in the game, KH3 really didn't need them storyline wise. Sorry this is so long lol.

Really cool! Final Fantasy IX was my very first Final Fantasy game and holds a special place with me because of it.

What is the Most Emotional Moment in KH3?
SweetYetSalty replied to Ventus_'s topic in Poll of the Week
Almost everything on the list...minus two of them, got me emotional. I've talked enough about the two trios reunions. In short they made me cry, and are among my favorite moments in the series. But nearly everything in the Keyblade Graveyard once the real fights begin was fantastic. I'm still bummed I missed Namine in Final World. I'm making it my goal to speak to her first thing in my next playthrough. But yeah, like almost everything on that list got me in the feels.- 14 replies

What if Xion has black hair because of Skuld
SweetYetSalty replied to Fates Chance XIII's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
This theory is crazy enough to happen. It makes me wonder if Ventus had met Xion during her hoodie gimmick days would he have seen her as Skuld? Would he even remember Skuld? But anyway with the Kairi/Namine being connected to Ava theories, it wouldn't be too surprising if Nomura links the current cast to the Union characters somehow. Even something as small as Xion's hair being black because of the 1% Skuld influence from Ventus's heart working through Roxas. Yeah, that's something insane that KH would totally do. Xion's KH4 storyline will be explaining her black hair. Then watch her grow it out to resemble Tifa's to raise even more questions. -
What's your favorite encounter in the Keyblade Graveyard?
SweetYetSalty replied to Pixxz's topic in Poll of the Week
I pick the Saix/Xion one, because I'm super biased! All of the encounters were great. But only one returned to me my boi Roxas in all his dual wielding, overpowered glory. I cried so much. The image of Sora, Roxas, and Xion about to go into battle together is one of the most iconic scenes in KH3 for me. It almost makes me wish Roxas was using the regular Kingdom Key to start the battle, so we'd have three of them. The fusion of "The Other Promise" and "Vector to the Heavens" in their more triumphant versions has to be one of the best soundtracks in all KH. Then you have the emotional scene with Lea and Isa at the end. This game made me feel emotions for Isa/Saix of all people. Outstanding. When I play KH3 again with all the added difficulties and new content, this will be the encounter I'll put a save file for to play it over and over again. I love it. Seasalt Trio for life! Second would be Vanitas/Terranort. Fighting these two with remixes of their themes was also epic. Funny, Vanitas and Terranort are put together. They both hurt my hand when I played BBS on the PSP. Those reactions commands from Vanitas, and those counterguards of Terranort. They were such nightmares, so when I saw these two paired together I was terrified. Third would be Marluxia, Larxene, and Luxord. Why? I just like them. They're cool guys. I remember Larxene being the last one I took down, she was so fast in the fight, zipping from one point of the screen to the other. Luxord's end was also really nice. It fit his character that Days portrayed him. Fourth and fifth are a mix up. I can't decide between the Norts or Xigbar/Dark Riku. It's a toss up. Both are good, but I don't know which I prefer. I really did like smacking around Dark Riku though. It reminded me of all the times I fought Riku in KH1. In fact Dark Riku was the very first Seeker I defeated in the Graveyard. -
Who had the best return in Kingdom Hearts III?
SweetYetSalty replied to Power Jusho's topic in Poll of the Week
Poor Namine is not even a option. The Kairis really got sand tossed in their eyes in KH3. Anyway to answer the question, for me I can't decide. Emotionally all the returns got a reaction from me. In terms of epic level returns then yeah, I agree with everyone else on Terra and Roxas. Ventus also kinda had a dynamic return too. But I feel it gets downplayed because of Aqua jobbing.- 13 replies

Soranort...
SweetYetSalty replied to Iscreamer1's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
The idea of Soranort is interesting. Part of me did want to see it if only to see how'd they do it. But then I think to myself what could they really do? Vanitas covers the whole "evil Sora" thing down to the darksuit, yellow eyes, black hair, and hammy darkness talk. And even Xion pulled off the evil Sora using Sora's old moves back in Days finale. They'd have to do something to separate a potential Soranort from that. I think Soranort is actually a good "what if" idea. Part of me still thought he'd be the 13th darkness until the trailers started showing the actual Seekers. The biggest thing obviously is to make sure he's not a Vanitas clone...as weird as that sounds. -
Disney now officially owns fox
SweetYetSalty replied to Potato head harvey's topic in General Discussion
I'm overall indifferent to Disney buying Fox. The only thing that I wanted was for the MCU to get back the X-Men and FF. That being said, am I ready for Wolverine in Avengers? I feel the same way about Wolverine that I do about FFVII. Both suffer from overexposure. I'm actually crossing my fingers the first MCU X-Men movies don't involve him at all. I need a long break after the Fox run. It's funny I really want to see the X-Men in the MCU, but not so much Wolverine. As far as Avatar in KH, I don't see it happening and maybe it's for the best. I'd put that in the same category as Star Wars. -
What was your reaction to Luxu's reveal?
SweetYetSalty replied to Power Jusho's topic in Poll of the Week
I knew Xigbar wasn't dead. His body didn't turn back to darkness and he was far to involved in the series to be killed right now. If there weren't so many "Xigbar is MoM" or "Xigbar is insert character name" theories floating around this might have surprised me. Instead while I wasn't surprised, I got a good chuckle out of it. I don't mind it at all because it means he's sticking around and playing a big role in the next saga. And I couldn't be happier about that. The clever little sneak- 16 replies

I'm surprised neither Roxas or Xion ever asked Axel how they collected hearts before they came along. I mean it's the Organizations primary objective in Days and KHII, and since they're the newest members that just joined one must ask what they did before they got a Keyblade wielder in their ranks. It would be funny if Xemnas was putting pressure on Vexen to make a Keyblade wielder before they got Roxas and they all failed, leaving the the Org to do not much of anything but sit around until Roxas is born lol.
-
That would be cool to see Axel and Xion's perspectives during the event of Days. Especially seeing them interact with the other members, like how Roxas got to on missions. I forget where but I remember hearing that Luxord use to play cards with Axel sometimes. He even comments on Axel's death in the KH2 final mix version. It would be cool to see them playing a game of cards in the castle sometime. Or Axel interacting with Xigbar more often. A battle of smooth talking between them. The game also implied Xion had some sort of interactions with Demyx, as she defended him when Roxas was talking about him behind his back, and Demyx was shocked that a person he's been talking to was a puppet. There's so much more I want in a Days remake. Better not get my hopes up though.

There's a saying I always keep in mind for things like this. Don't let the inmates run the asylum. It's impossible to please everyone, and selecting a few fan things while ignoring others will just cause more of the same thing to happen. I for example have my issues with KH3 but the lack of FF characters was not one of them.
-
I already posted my ideas for what I would want out of Days in another post. That being said I'd love for a remake of one of my favorite KH games. The game that sold me on Roxas and Organization XIII. How I would love to play this game on a powerful engine with updated everything from boss fights to even some worlds we can explore. How I dream of it.

I like Aqua, she's cool and all, but she wouldn't be my first choice to be the main character of KH4. Of a side game? Sure. As a supporting character in the future of the series? Absolutely. But main character of KH4? She's a bit too mature for the job. Sora works so well as the main character for his ability to connect with others, and all the other characters are either part of him or connected to him. But at the end of the day it comes down to what KH4 will be about. So we'll have to see the direction of the franchise going forward.

Side Game Before KH4??
SweetYetSalty replied to Mkucherina's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
I've never been a big fan of the Keyblade title ranking system that BBS introduced. Sora has a greater level called "main character" which laughs at the master title. Terra and Roxas I'd argue are just as strong as Riku and Aqua. Terra might want to become a legit master because it was his dream, but I doubt Roxas cares. I suppose it all depends on who is coming back post KH3 to see who gains the Master title. But power scaling in KH is all plot relevant.
