  1. That is the part that always bugged me about the timeline, until I finally found that basically the YX we see meet Ansem in DDD has the appeareance of Xehanort AFTER the main story of Dark Road (notice the hair bangs) compared to DR where in that same meeting Xehanort has his first hair style (let's call him Student Xehanort) So I spent a long time thinking that they actually meet twice, and the meeting in DDD takes place after the mains story of DR since we do see Student Xehanort sporting the hair bangs in the time skips, but apparently nope, the Xehanort in the DDD screenshot should've always been Student Xehanort, not enough time to do that extra model I guess (could've fixed for the HD and saved me a headache though!) But considering YX is supposed to be the correct model with the hair bangs (only the one in the cutscene above is wrong) Student Xehanort at Scala should NOT have experienced the events of DDD yet or YX in DDD and KH3 would have student's Xehanort hair, I think that when Ansem came back to "set him in the appointed path and gave him the ability to move through time" it was still a long while until he went on with the mission Ansem gave him, up until he already was studying darkness I think one day (after already growing into the age of Young Xehanort) the dormant memory/mission/piece of future Xehanort inside him just "awakened" and that's when he started recruiting the other selves, and probably got his Yellow Eyes (after the main story but before he is named master and recieves no name since he uses another keyblade in DDD and KH3) Another thing is I think the whole game was made to show the folly of blindy following a fate that wasn't meant for you, there are many clues that Xehanort was NOT the child of prophecy, or rather he could've been but failed Just because he can connect and feel others' hearts would mean that he is one, as Baldr also had that ability, and that's what caused his downfall To be precise, Xehanort doesn't "hail from the isles of destiny" yes, he spent his childhood there, but wasn't BORN there, he "hails" from Scala, this might be a nitpick if you think that because he lived 99% of his life in DI he hails from them but could also be taken as a clue that Blue Robe guy was trying to "force" the prophecy into being about him, which brings us to... Blue Robe guy expresses their own doubts about Xehanort being the child, at first he is all like "IT'S NO DOUBT YOU ARE IT" but by the end of the conversation he says it might be too soon (Xehanort is shown asleep by this point so he wouldn't hear that part And of course we have the hindsight of knowing what ends up being of Xehanort's life, he Blue Robe's words about how the Child of Destiny would be the one who can feel and connect with others' heart and become one with them, he kinda does that but in an evil way, using others hearts to manipulate them and even take over their bodies, he doesn't care about connecting with others, even in KH3 he is shown that he doesn't particularly care for the wellbeing of the people who are his vessels, he doesn't fight to defeat darkness but to manipulate it, while the true Child would be the one who actually connects with people, who accepts their hearts into himself and uses those connections to increase his power and the one who truly hails from destiny islands, fighting to keep the light safe and fend off darkness, Sora Going back to what I said before Xehanort COULD have been the child of prophecy but his destiny was altered, as you mention Blue Robe explains that he was taken to the islands to hide him from darkness until he was strong enough, but he only leaves the islands because Ansem appears and opens the portal to the other worlds, so we can't be sure that Xehanort was truly ready to leave the islands, that could've been the first step to have darkness be drawn to him and start his downfall (poison his heart as blue robe says it), Xehanort only knows that he is a special child destined for greatness so in his mind whatever path he takes must be the righteous one which eventually evolves into his complex of: "everyone else is weak, and those who think they are strong are faking it, only some people (me) are truly strong" "I've learned the reason for my existance" "the world needs someone to stand up and lead" Not to mention that I think MoM also kinda sabotaged Xehanort a little bit, I think he planed to have him be a vessel for the last remaining darkness that we now know must be out there, that's why he spured him into going out and see the world, to learn how to resist darkness with the coat and then outgrowing it, having him experience conflict the same way he did with the foretellers in UX, so that he would become the perfect bait for darkness to try to get inside him Would explain MoM's line of "a keyblade wielder willing to side with the darkness?????" he even says it in such a cheeky way, like he was taunting him, MoM's methods may be considered ruthless and too pragmatic but if there is one thing we know is that everything he does it in order to defeat the primordial darknesses, no matter what it takes, so him just being OK with a strong wielder like Xehanort to side with his true enemy, darkness, always seem weird....... that is, unless he wanted Xehanort to feel the need to understand and get closer to darkness so he could be the final vessel to hold them in place until they can be truly defeated, basically the goal of the next Saga
  2. mainly the fact that I called that we WERE NOT reincarnated into Xehanort since the finale of UX, and I finally have sweet vindication The connection between Ephemer and Xehanort was neat, not for Xehanort but the fact the Eraqus is still supposed to be a "blue blood" keyblade Wielder so if Ephemer isn't his ancestor that opens up the door for someone else, of course Brain is the most likely candidate, going back to their physical similarities, but I don't know if Brain would be considered "blue blood" up until now, of course Missing Link is supposedly all about bloodlines so no doubt we will learn more on that, excited for that Another thing that was basically confirmed, and again, I called it (not trying to be a show off, but I've been holding on to this for years while everyone was making up theories saying how Ava was either Subject X, Kairi's Grandma, Xehanort's Mom, blue robe guy or pretty much anyone else they needed for their theory to work) is that Player was totally faking it when was "taken over by darkness" and fought Skuld and Ephemer in the UX finale, some believed he had the last of the 6 remaining darknesses and fought it off to seal off the other 4 (leaving only the one in Ven) but I think this confirmed that we have remaining ancient darkness unaccounted for, which I believe MoM's plan with Xehanort all along, to turn him into another Vessel for the last darkness, that's why he as so interested in making him do something with his power and making him more resistant to darkness, giving him the coat and telling him that he would outgrow it eventually, also sending him to see the world and experience conflict and strife to make him the perfect lure for a darkness looking to possess a strong heart (just like he did with his apprentices and the whole traitor and war) Would explain his cheeky line of "a keyblade wielder willing to side with the darkneeeeessss?" the MoM may be weird and pragmatic, some may even say his methods are cruel, but everything he does is in order to defeat the ancient darkness, so he would not be so willing to have Xehanort just go and side with his lifelong enemy
  3. woah woah woah, something just ocurred to me:
  4. dude, this isn't a matter of opinion you can not "read" 2+2 in any other way than "=4" Roxas: "I Thought I had recalled everything but it wasn't the case" AKA I thought I had all my memories at that point but I didn't what part of it is it so hard to understand? If Roxas had remembered any semblance of Xion then Nomura would've added some esoteric detail about it at the time, like he added Ventus in Days or the mountain of hints about Xigbar in pretty much every game he is in, he had already alluded to Xigbar's importance even before BBS came out, you really think he didn't have at least the concept of Xion planned during KH2? and yet no mention of her during Roxas' section?
  5. I isn't "the way he read it" Roxas says "I was standing in front of Sora, and I thought I recalled everything. But it wasn’t the case. Now I remember everything. I remember you, Xion." As in he NOW knows that he didn't regain his full memories when he found Sora in twilight town There are 2 debatle points when Roxas regains all his memories The moment when Xion attacks Sora and he is holding her off, and Roxas' hearts reacts to her (it is Roxas' voice that comes out when Sora says her name after all) the 2nd option could possibly be during the end of DDD when Roxas shares his memories (AKA the "hurt" alluded in Re:coded) into Sora since in that part Sora also meets Xion, and Roxas & Xion (along with Ven) play a part in Riku's mission to rescuing Sora The memories of Xion depend on Sora unlocking them, even if indirectly, since they are a part of his heart now, Roxas alone could not have remembered her
  6. Marluxia said he remembers the name of a small flower, Strelitzia is literally the name of a small flower, so yeah pretty much
  7. The idea for this is so we can piece the most comprehensive summary of the events of Re:mind, feel free to correct or comment your own ideas, first we should start by establishing what we know (my personal thoughts will be written in italics)
  8. What's the problem with that? yes Sora is 14 then the whole of kh1, which was a big adventure, even in canon so it should take a couple days if not weeks, then the established year that starts when roxas is born(the earliest point of this is in hollow bastion the moment Sora turns himself into a heartless during KH1's endgame) to the end of the prologue of kh2, so now Sora is 15 and a bit, then kh2 which again a couple days or weeks to complete and after the finale of KH2 some other weeks until Mickeys letter arrives and Sora and Riku take the Mark of Mastery Test So while it hasn't officially 12 years, for simplicity's sake it is easier to say 12 years than 11 years and 7 months for the twilight town's kids when do they say they are on vacation still? they just reference the 7 wonders essay they made in kh2 which was due for the end of vacation, and now they said they dont' need to work on that any more so... they already made their report and are not on vacation, maybe we just dropped on twilight town on a weekend or after school was done for the day
  9. what's wrong with that? even the twlight town kids say it hasn't been that long since they saw Sora, Coded is just a computer simulation so it's almost like watching a movie, wouldn't take that long, and DDD takes places pretty much directly after KH2 and since it's all within dreams you can take that it plays like inception and the whole story of the game happened in a couple of hours my guess is that the timeline is something like this 1.- Xemnas Defeated, everyone returns to their own worlds -> 2.- Mickey studies the Journal, KH Coded takes place -> 3.- Mickey visits Yen Sid and is intructed to summon Sora and Riku so he writes the letter -> 4.- Kairi delivers the letter to Sora at the end of KH2 -> 5.-KH DDD happens -> 6.-KH3 2.- Should take at most a week, from where Jimminy discovers the blank journal up to Mickey writes the letter to Sora 4.- Sora and the gang seem to be chilling at destiny islands, it seems like they are still adjusting to peace returning to their world, so again, it seems not a lot of time has passed 5.- lets say it took another week between Mickey sending the letter and Sora & Riku arriving at the mysterious tower (but I think since it was an order from Yen Sid to Mickey, the letter should arrive almost instantaneously), then the Sora & Riku's test happens, in the realm of sleeep, again inception rules so it doesn't take long, by the end Sora decided to go say goodbye to the dream eaters while Mickey and Riku are sent in their first mission to find Aqua, AGAIN let's be generous and say it took a week for them to be prepared for the RoD and Sora to leave for Olympus That gives us a very generous 3 weeks between kh2 and kh3, even if for the characters (like Sora who spent all that time in the realm of sleep) and the audience for.....obivous reasons, it feels like so much longer
  10. all of dragonball super yes GT is deeply flawed but even it respects the pre established canon and characters more than super
  11. lol this was one of the best questions I've seen, took me a while too! In the end it has to be Axel/Lea I don't think Sora would be happy just telling a story, he would be goofing around Xion, Roxas & Ven would probably not have much to say before staying silent Terra would tell you about when he punched something Kairi only knows her grandma's story Aqua and Riku would have some cool stories but I think they would get depressing pretty quick Only Lea has that mix of history, action and personality to keep the mood light and fun plus, you know at the end you would need to get all of them memorized!
  12. Thanks! And yes, pretty much 95% of evidence points to
  13. Real quick, this has been bugging me since my first playthrough of KH3, it might be nothing but it might also be worth discussing
