    "Soooo," Sora began with his hands tucked behind his head, "You'll have your own display, huh?" It was mildly chilly outside, so Sora had offered the red head his jacket. The others were likely close to campus by now, but Sora walked beside Kairi at a slow pace.

    Naminé waved shyly. She didn't quite know what to say. This woman seemed like a professional. "Um...hi."

    At the sight of their winner, the judges, who had been sitting at a long table together, all stood up. A taller and well-dressed woman approached first, offering Kairi a pearly smile. "Kairi, right? I absolutely loved your designs this evening. The color palette you chose fit your models to a T."

    Riku shot Lightning a sly smirk. Guess she noticed? "Yeah, that's cool." Naminé dusted invisible crumbs off her dress. "Right! I'm sure they'll want to see the detailing more closely." Sora kept one arm around Kairi's shoulders. "Already there." He imagined Kairi was still a little nervous. She had won, but there was still so much to come!

    "You deserve it," Riku said with a smile, "You worked really hard, and the girls both look really good." Though, even as he said 'both,' his eyes instantly drifted over to Lightning's lithe form. "We should go out to celebrate!" Naminé suggested cheerfully. There were plenty of little shops around where they could get a good bite to eat.

    As the lights dimmed on stage, Sora finally pulled back to look at Kairi. His lips were stretched into the largest, child-like grin, and his eyes were alight with the same level of excitement. "I'm so proud of you!" Naminé picked her plate back up and went over to congratulate her friend. "I'm so happy you won!" Riku tugged at Lightning's hand. "C'mon, let's go tell the winner congrats."

    Sora mirrored her expression, his voice full of excitement as he threw his arms around her for a close hug. "You did it, Kai!" Naminé gasped happily and grabbed Roxas's arm. "K-Kairi won!" Riku whistled loudly, his own face brimming with joy at his best friend's success. He knew Kairi had this in the bag. Her designs were really top notch!

    Naminé set her plate down as the announcer's voice boomed through the speakers; she was too far away to see anything but squinted her eyes anyway for a glimpse of the stage up ahead. I really hope Kairi wins. She deserves this... Sora squeezed Kairi's hand back with a thudding heart. He believed in Kairi. He did. But what would happen if the name wasn't hers? What if someone else was chosen?

    "I thought it was cute," Naminé said softly. Her eyes drifted to his suit. It was a simple black and white design, but Roxas just looked...good in it. Sexy actually. His eyes look so blue. "Ready?" Sora asked at the announcer's voice.

    "You had a little leftover icing," Naminé said gently. He looked like such a little boy! It made Naminé wonder what kind of child he would have been had the two of them been born like everyone else. He placed his other hand on her shoulder and smiled. "Of course. Just remember to give it back to me. Someone really special made it." He winked at her then and gave her shoulder a small squeeze.

    "Hmm, that sounds good. I'll probably--" Naminé stopped mid sentence, noting the icing on the side of his mouth with a giggle. "Oh, Roxas." Taking a napkin, Naminé dabbed the teal icing away, not realizing how close they had gotten again. Sora's face softened, and he drew the good luck charm Kairi had given him out of his back pocket. He placed it into her hand. "It'll be okay. You have good luck now, right?" He was confident in Kairi's abilities. Sora, being her best friend, had a bias for the red head, but it was true her designs were the best. Riku brought one of his hands to her cheek and pressed a gentle kiss to her lips. "Good thing I've got a lot of compliments then."

    Naminé followed Roxas's lead, picking up a plate of her own once they reached the end of the table. There were so many options! "I don't know what to choose..." "You hungry?" Sora offered her some food off his plate. Of course, he had gotten too much. His eyes being bigger than his stomach even as a young adult. "With you, I'm already the luckiest guy here," he whispered softly. His own eyes darted around to make sure they weren't drawing too much attention, especially from any of the professors. Riku didn't want to be kicked out before Kairi won her award.

    Naminé followed his gaze, catching sight of a large chocolate cake in the center of a long table. "We'll have to try that too!" Maybe one day I can learn to make sweets like this too. "I could say the same about you," Sora returned and brought his eyes back to her face. The amethyst of her eyes shone brightly, even with the dim lightning of the room. His hands, which dwarfed hers, captured her fingers and brought them to her lips. "Mmm, but it's so fun."

    Naminé plucked one of the sea salt bites off the plate and chewed happily. "The icing on the cake!" Feeling the intensity of her gaze, Sora looked away and rubbed the back of his head shyly. "What...? Did I say something?" She looks so cute with that head tilt! Agh, don't start blushing now, Sora! His heart sped up, but his eyes twinkled playfully. "I'll give you a hint: not here." Her perfume wafted past his nose; an alluring blend of roses. Her whisper of a smirk made his own lips twitch. She knew him too well.

    "Of course they are," Naminé replied with an amused smile. Roxas and his sea salt. She wondered if he would ever get sick of it? "They'd be fools not to," Sora said with a shake of his head. The other contestants were good, but Kairi, comparatively, was at a different level. Her seams sewn together precisely, the color palette fit with her models aesthetics...Everything about her designs screamed professional. Riku snaked an arm around her waste and brought his lips close to her ear. "And where exactly would that be?"

    A beat of silence passed between them. Naminé looked off to the side once before bringing her attention back to back to Roxas. Her eyes strayed to his plate piled high with food. "Is any of that good?" Sora opened his mouth, ready to say something else, but stopped himself, seeming to reword his initial thought. "Um...your designs looked really great out there. You're really talented, Kai." "Hmm...," Riku pretended to appraise her appearance with a critical eye, though his mask quickly fell at the sight of the fabric hugging her curves. "I'd say you looked pretty amazing out there. Even more beautiful in person though."

    Naminé tilted her head. "Thanks. You um...look good...too." Handsome. She wanted to say... "Heh, maybe for the next fashion show I could walk the runway for you," Sora offered a teasing wink. Maybe they could even wear matching attire? Sora would like that... "You don't look too bad yourself," Riku returned the compliment with one of his own and kissed her hand tenderly.

    "No kidding," Naminé agreed. Her eyes stayed on Roxas, wondering where he obtained the suit from. He looks good... Sora noticed Kairi's gaze and waved at the red head as he started to walk towards her. "Hey," he greeted.

    Sora's eyes grew wide with excitement at the assortment of snacks. "Good food too!" Sora cheered. Riku chuckled and picked up a plastic plate. "Guess there are more perks to this fashion show than I would have thought." He expected some kind of after party, but this was relatively expensive food. It looks like it might even be catered in...! From across the room, Naminé giggled as she watched the boys fill their plates up with various appetizers. They all seemed to be competing over who would have the most on their plates. "Boys," she said with a tsk.

    Naminé stumbled forward but laughed as she followed Kairi. A cocktail party? This would be a first for her! She wondered when the boys would show up? It would be nice to see Roxas again. Though...I'm a little nervous now. I can't believe I actually him a kiss...!

    Naminé tucked a loose strand of blonde hair behind her ear shyly. "Thanks. I'm really happy I didn't trip." She glanced around at the other models and designers. "Do you know when you'll get the results for the contest?"

    Riku echoed Roxas's sentiments, elbowing Sora on his other side. "You're one to talk! If that were Kairi out there, your jaw would have been hanging so low, flies would have gone in!" Sora let out an annoyed 'ow' before huffing at the accusations. "I'm not jealous, and I would acted different than you too!" the brunet protested. Though, inwardly, he knew his friends were right. Sora wished that Kairi were out there, that he could see that telltale sign in her eyes...

    Sora noticed the two boy's expressions and tried to stifle a bout of laughter. He, of course, failed. "You two look ridiculous," he said between snickers, holding one hand to his stomach while pointing weakly at his two friends. "I should have taken a picture!"

    Riku knew his jaw had dropped the second he laid eyes on Light. He had seen her dress up a little here and there, but not like this. Her smirk sent his heart into a frenzy, though the boy did his best to keep his cool or rather recreate his cool. Naminé found his lingering gaze again on her form, and, as she turned on her heel, blew the singer a kiss. The gesture was unexpected even for her, and Naminé could hear her heart, even over the music as she walked back up the runaway. Did I really do that?

    Naminé caught Roxas's gaze and blushed, the light pink dusting her cheeks like an added layer of blush. She had hoped for a reaction like that but seeing it still caught her off guard. Offstage, a girl with dark eyes glowered, watching as her classmate's creations were met with glowing adoration while hers barely elicited much of a reaction at all. The formal wear she had crafted for her models hung stiffly on their bodies, and the colors were a greenish-yellow blend that not even baby food would dare advertise. Yet, her eyes burned with envy at the success of her rival.
