    When Kairi and Noel had left, Riku jabbed Sora in the arm. Hard. "What's your problem?" Not that he didn't already know, but the admission from brunet was important. He has to acknowledge his feelings...nothing will change if he can't do that... "Ow!" Sora rubbed his arm gingerly and glared at Riku, "What are you talking about?" Why was everyone so upset all of a sudden? He hadn't yelled at Noel. "You know exactly what I'm talking about," Riku said before adding with an eyeroll, "And that wasn't even hard!"

    "I'm sure it will turn out great," Naminé encouraged, though her eyes kept darting back to Sora who stood amongst them as if the conversation weren't happening at all. He had even pulled out his phone, sliding through a trail of messages on the screen. Naminé felt bad for the keyblade wielder but wished he would still engage with them. Especially with Kairi right there. Please Sora...she begged in her mind. "Yeah, and I bet Sora could give you some good intel too," Riku suggested. He elbowed Sora by harder this time, causing the brunet to nearly drop the device. Sora glowered at his friend but seemed to have gotten the hint. He stuffed his phone back into his pocket and shrugged, refusing to meet Noel's eyes. "He'd probably be better of with Leon and the others. They know more than I do."

    "Hello," Naminé waved back hesitantly. She wasn't sure how much she should say. The atmosphere was thick, and she could practically feel Sora's anger. The boy in question's eye visibly twitched. He didn't say anything to the other boy until Riku elbowed him slightly. "Hi," he deadpanned. He really didn't like this boy now. Too friendly. The irony of his own thoughts didn't reach him, however. Riku cleared his throat. "Freshman, huh? What's your major?" He could sense Kairi's nervousness but was surprised that she was so willing to introduce her new...friend to the group.

    "Uh, yeah," Riku scratched the back of his head as a blush filled his cheeks, "I figured it would be a good place to have a date." He thought of Lightning's soft smile again and tried to hide a Sora-esque grin--which was epically strange given his best friend's own sour expression. He wasn't quite sure what to do about the two of them. They had always been close, so it felt like...things would work out, right?

    "Tickets are going on sale in the campus center today," Naminé added, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear, "So we were going to buy some today." She wanted to give Sora an opportunity to speak to Kairi, but he seemed frozen. His heart, she sensed, was fractured from the fight with Kairi. Sora remained silent as the exchange took place, kicking a stray pebble into dirt. The festival. He was sure Kairi would go with that boy. He had to be the one she had mentioned to him during their argument. The way they interacted was much too close. It only makes sense that she would like him better than me. I've never been anything special...

    "Hey," Naminé greeted, her eyes following the figure of the stranger who had been beside Kairi. He looked a lot like Sora. Was that intentional? Naminé decided not to ask, though she could tell the boy was already visibly uncomfortable by the stiffness of his posture.

    Sora hadn't seen Kairi in a few days since their fight. It felt strange. His best friend since childhood. Not talking? Sora didn't know what to feel except pain. The few times he had seen the red headed girl she had been with another student. A tall, dark haired boy with piercing blue eyes and an athletic physique. Sora instantly didn't like him. He watched them now--her face glowing and his lips curved into a smile--and scowled. How could they be so happy?

    Sora's grip grew limp, and he finally released her wrist. His heart ached. Someone that special to her? He wondered who the lucky guy was. "Oh...I see..." He looked down at his shoes, unable to say anymore. What was there to say? She clearly wasn't interested in him...

    "K-Kairi! Hey!" he tried grabbing onto her wrist, abandoning the shirt in his hands. "It's not like that! I just think that you're better than that! When have you ever cared about what some guy thinks?" He didn't like seeing her so hurt over some idiot.

    His eyes widened then, hurt flashing in the blue depths. "I care because it's you, Kairi! I care because I--" He stopped himself for a moment. Could he say it? Could he tell her? There was an internal debate for the boy for a moment before he made his decision. "You're one of my best friends, Kairi. I care about what happens to you. I can't believe you'd ask something like that," Sora said lowly. Anger still flooded his eyes, but the hurt was more apparent now.

    "A compliment!?" Sora's voice rose with outrage. How could she call it that? "You're letting them demean you because some other guy isn't interested?" He wanted to ask who, but a sick feeling pooled in his stomach. The idea of Kairi liking someone else. Being interested in some other guy hurt. "You can't...do that!"

    "Well, you are if you didn't notice their gawking," Sora shot back with a scowl. He regretted the words immediately, but his anger clouded his sense to apologize. This conversation wouldn't end well...

    "Doesn't that bother you?" Sora asked. His ire was growing visibly as he crossed his arms over his chest. "You shouldn't let them treat you like that." He wasn't wrong, right? They were being disgusting. At her last statement, however, Sora gave the red head a baffled expression. "Me? What are you talking about? They stare at Riku, not me."

    Sora rolled his eyes, unable to keep his peevish feelings secret any longer. "They were ogling you, Kairi. I'm surprised one of them didn't run into a wall they were looking so hard." Was she blind? If he wasn't there, he would have been surprised to find them undressing her with their eyes. What if they tried touching her. Sora's eyes narrowed at the thought.

    "W-What?" Sora was startled by her question, but then shook his head. "It's not...that. It's..." He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. He didn't want to sound petty, but..."I didn't like how those guys were looking at you." I don't like any guys looking at you. Especially not models...

    "Kind of," Sora said thoughtfully, "But I didn't expect him to make a move so soon." The frown on his face was still there as Sora couldn't shake the annoyance he felt. He tightened his jaw slightly when the measuring tape moved down to his hips. It was a challenge to keep calm on any level.

    "Them and Riku and Lightning," Sora amended, taking in a whiff of her shampoo. What was it this time? Lilac? Cherry Blossoms? When the tape coiled around his waist, he inhaled sharply. Their eyes didn't meet, and Sora kept his eyes on the ceiling. He could hear some voices somewhere in front of them; a group of models from Kairi's class passed by. One waved, but Sora's eyes couldn't help but follow their roving gazes. His lips pulled down into a frown. Why were they looking at her like that? Wasn't it clear that he was there too?

    He stiffened but the cold from her hands wasn't the only reason. "You're fine. It's fine." Her hands on my skin feels weird. But good. Good? Ah, man... Sora touched his heart briefly. "But um," he continued, trying to remain calm about their close proximity, "The others seemed to be getting pretty close now?"

    The implication of the word “fine” rang in his ears. She didn’t mean to say that, did she? At her question, however, he automatically lifted his arms out to his sides as his thoughts strayed. Did she find him appealing? Riku has always been the more toned one of the two, so Sora often found himself inadequate in that department. But Kairi seemed to like it... “Saturday was fun, huh?”

    “W-What now?” Soras asked. He saw Kairi’s expression and smiled nervously. Was she looking at him? Or rather...was she admiring him? “Something wrong?”

    “No! No!” Sora held up his hands defensively, “I-I’d love to! I mean—“ he slapped himself upside the head and sighed. “I’m fine with it. Just hang on a sec,” Sora said. He stripped off his jacket, the zipper catching briefly before releasing. The shirt came next and exposed his well-toned chest; a result of his major and keyblade pratcice.

    “Dark blue,” he mused aloud, “that should look good. I like blue.” Her second question caught him off guard. “M-My shirt!?” He sputtered. It made sense of course. The measurements probably had to exact, but taking of his shirt in front of Kairi...? They weren’t kids anymore. This wasn’t just a day out at the beach. There was more tension in the air. Electricity.

    Sora opened his eyes and rubbed the back of his head; a blush dusted the apples of his cheeks. “Sorry, force of habit.” When she stood closer to him, Sora stiffened slightly and hoped his heart wouldn’t betray him. He liked the proximity, but there was a level of intimacy that made him unsure. “What color is it going to be?”

    Sora nodded. “Yeah, I’m ready.” He squeezed his eyes shut. The gesture was childish, but Sora couldn’t help himself. He was determined to help Kairi (and keep her away from the ogling male models). He had seen them before talking to Kairi. Their words full of flattery as their eyes roved across her body. The idea of her spending any alone time with them outweighed his fear of needles.

    “M-Measurements?” he repeated nervously. That seemed...awkward? Sora followed her movements and eyed the utensils surreptitiously. He wasn’t a big fan of needles or the idea of being poked with them. As a child, he had often squirmed during the tailoring process, causing his mother to poke and prod at him with the object repeatedly. Which it was his fault for all the wiggling, but he had never had the longest attention span, especially for those kinds of things.
