    Riku lingered for a moment more before breaking away abruptly. His cheeks were red and his heart was thundering from how close they were, but he tried to keep his voice steady. "Do you have a computer?" Riku wanted to slap himself upside the head. Do you have a computer? Seriously? Of course she has a computer! She's in freaking college...everyone has a computer! He probably sounded stupid to her. And after such an intense moment...

    Her fingers intertwined, Riku dared to press a kiss to her cheek. He hoped the move wasn't too bold. Scaring her away now would be the last thing the boy wanted. He shifted slightly, touching their foreheads. "Do you want to watch a movie or something? I can log into my Nextflix. There are probably some stupid movies on there right now?" Anything that would take her mind off of Chase and what happened tonight.

    "As long as you want me to stay," Riku said and grabbed her hand. He found her eyes. Turquoise meeting crystal blue. He wouldn't leave unless she was okay. Lightning was special to him. She was...his most treasured girl.

    "Heh, heh," Riku shook his head, thinking back on his misadventures, "Nope. Not at all. But my friends were there for me. They helped me through everything." I want you to feel like that too, Lightning...

    "You have let people help you," Riku explained gently, "Tell them what's going on. Like what you're doing with me right now." If he had only done that instead of looking to the darkness. His friends would have been there for him.

    "Your secret is safe with me," Riku placed a hand to his chest. An oath. "But Light...you can't bear this burden all on your own. It'll only hurt you. Trust me, I know." He couldn't properly express his amazement at her generosity. She really was selfless. His heart swelled with pride.

    Riku felt his heart drop. Dead? And it was during the fall of Radiant Garden. The name that came to his mind instantly was: "Xehanort...," Riku murmured to himself. He was the one who caused this. To bring about the keyblade war. To even think that Xehanort had taken awayLightning's parents too...He's ruthless. "Oh...so it's been just the two of you then?"

    "I'm sorry," Riku whispered. That was too much for anyone to handle. "No one should have to hold it in like that...but...Light..." Riku sighed. He didn't want to drudge up bad memories. Didn't want her to hurt more. But to mend her hurt, they would have to talk things through. "What happened to your parents?"

    "Hey, " Riku got up and moved so that he was beside her. "It's okay to be upset, you know? Don't hold it in." He knew all about bottling feelings when you shouldn't. It wasn't healthy. Wrapping an arm around her shoulders, Riku pressed her close to his side, so that her head rested on his shoulder.

    "Well, I'm glad then," Riku said with a soft smile. Finally, it felt like someone understood him. He had never expected it to be Lightning, but...she was perfect. "Are you sure you're okay though...?"

    Riku chuckled nervously. "That's a good thing, right?" After all, Riku knew he had made so many mistakes. He wasn't the best person.

    "Something wrong...?" Riku asked, scratching his cheek embarrassedly. Did he say something too weird? Was that too intense?

    Riku let out a frustrated sigh. "True...I just can't...imagine ever doing that to someone. Especially not when I love that person. I haven't always made the best choices, but..." Riku looked down at his hands and shook his head. "I know I could never hurt someone like that. Being unfaithful is...unforgivable."

    "The Ferris Wheel?" Riku repeated incredulously, "How stupid can you be? And after she stood by him at that party? Was it someone she knew?" Sadly, Riku could easily picture this scene unfold, but why? Wasn't Snow happy with Serah? How could someone have such little respect for their own relationship?

    "Hopefully...," Riku said. He wasn't sure how much he could or should ask about the fight. Sora, during his fight with Kairi, hadn't to share much. They weren't dating, but it was still a pretty delicate situation. Especially since he was more or less caught in the middle as their best friend. "Did...Did she end up telling you what happened?" His munny was still on some other girl, but Riku wouldn't be happy if his hunch was proven correct. Serah, though naive, seemed like a nice, sweet girl. She didn't deserve that brand of heartbreak.

    "Okay," Riku chuckled and turned back to face the pink haired girl. Her new attire was casual, and it was almost a little strange to see her in such relaxed clothing since Lightning usually a certain formal air to her. Likely due to the military. "Anything from Serah?"

    Automatically, Riku spun his chair around to face the door. He squeezed his eyes shut for good measure too, trying to keep the blush on cheeks from becoming to obvious. She must trust me a lot...especially with what just happened. I don't think she would have even let me in her dorm a few weeks ago. Lightning was a private person--that much he could tell. Reserved. A heart of...not of stone like many probably assumed, but one that was guarded. Weary.

    "R-Right," Riku stuttered and pushed the door behind him until he heard a tiny click. It was just the two of them now. Looking around for a place to sit, Riku decided on her desk chair. He tried to keep his posture relaxed, but it was hard when so many thoughts raced through his head. They were alone. Together. In her bedroom. "S-So...um...you and Serah are pretty close then, huh?"

    "Heh, sounds about right for Snow," Riku said. His steps faltered again as he looked into her room. This was okay, right? She wanted him to come in. She wanted him to stay. Releasing a breath, Riku stepped inside Lightning's dorm room. It was, as he expected, pristine and relatively minimalistic, save for an occasional knick-knack that must have held some degree of importance to her.

    “Those heartless were pretty troublesome,” Riku commented, almost missing a stair as he tried to collect his thoughts. He had to be careful now. Keep the world order. ‘Which means don’t get too into detail about the heartless.’ “Did they beat any of them at least?” He wasn’t quite how they would have without the keyblade, but maybe there were ways NORA kept the swarms at bay.

    “That certainly seems like something Snow would be involved in. Did they actually do anything?” Riku asked. The idea of this NORA was...a little silly, but maybe they accomplished something with it? Not that he expected much from a guy like Snow. To Riku, it sounded more like an organization put together so that Snow and his friends could play hero.

    “That was my thought too,” Riku confessed, “How did those two meet anyway? Snow is what three years older?” Not that an age gap that small was anything that controversial, but Riku wouldn’t deny he was curious to know the backstory to such a relationship.

    "That's right," Riku commented with a frown, "her and Snow broke up, didn't they? I wonder what happened?" Though, Riku could imagine a variety of scenarios involving the blond haired senior. Most of them involving other girls. I don't want to assume anything, but from what I've seen, Snow didn't look like the most faithful guy out there...

    Her words and body language brought a furrow to his brow. It was strange hearing the uncertainty and vulnerability in her always strong voice. "Of course," Riku replied, giving her shoulders a gentle squeeze, "as long as you need me." There was nowhere he wanted to be since, even if he did go back to his own room, all Riku would be able to think of would be her.

    He kept his arm around her as they stood up and began walking towards the dorms. Would she want him to stay once they got there or would it be better to let her be alone for a little while? "Are you going to need some time alone? I don't mind staying with you, but I won't keep you up if you want to rest..."
