KHUX Transferring Data After Updating The Application??
DestinysUnion replied to SoraDaxjer28's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
That's too bad about your phone. I hope you can figure something out! If you end up getting a new phone, then maybe you could snap pictures of your records (and/or titles) or type them down somewhere? Then you could still keep them outside the game? Although I don't know how you could keep any data from Dark Road (if you play that). -
They're not canon, since they were written by Tomoco Kanemaki and follow the KH novels' continuity (considering half of Aqua's excerpt is a copy-paste from a novel scene). But at the same time, the purpose of the files seem to be solely for providing some insight for the characters, and I'm not sure they cover things that the games moving forward will actually address, so I would consider them free headcanon. You can consider them canon if you want to, but don't be surprised if the games contradict them in the future. I haven't read most of the character files, so I can't speak much more for them.

Personally speaking, I don't mind the fact that Sora saved her, Blank Points and the 0.2 both told us he would. My disappointment is really just how KH3 handled that plot. As a heads-up for anyone who really likes this plot as is, and may be sensitive to hearing a negative opinion on it, maybe don't read my comment any further. I'll be nice, but I don't want to chance ruining the scene for anyone. I already feel like the bad guy for saying the KH novels aren't canon. lol My problem is that Sora's and Aqua's interaction just felt very shallow to me. Early in KH3 they build up this plot point where Aqua can only be reached by someone she is very close to, and not even Mickey can help her here. This really sets-up a potential plot where Sora is able to reach Aqua either due to his strong connections to everyone, or because he possesses Ven's heart. Unfortunately, it felt like it never really considered either idea. I know this may be a nitpick on my end, as I'm aware KH3 had a lot of content to include and had to cut some corners, especially with their limited disc space, but I'm disappointed by the way Sora actually never cared about her in the game, up until he took her hand. Mickey, Riku, and Donald, all have points in the game where they express concern for the well-being of Aqua, Terra, and/or Ven. Sora, however, never expresses compassion for any of them, until after he saves Aqua. There are two times when Sora speaks up about saving her, but both of these are implied to be Ven's feelings, whether it's Ven's actual words or Sora reacting to his heart. There is a scene in the gummi ship where Sora has an outburst, saying they need to go to the Realm of Darkness, but the reasoning he gives is purely for manpower to combat the growing threat. This is very out-of-character for him, and generally makes him feel cold towards their situations. Then there's the part where Sora enters the RoD. When he sees Aqua, he really expresses nothing. He doesn't look surprised to see her, or confused about her transformation. He doesn't look concerned for her, and never even tries to speak with her. His only thought here seems to be saving Riku and Mickey, and you have to wonder if he's even aware of who he is fighting. He probably knows, but there's really no indication. After this, you just battle her. This is fine, I mean, it's a game, and that's what we do. But any personal feelings here feel like they're entirely atmospheric and based on the player's attachment to Aqua, while Sora is just kinda here and has no personal stake in the matter. Again, this may be a nitpick, but I don't understand why it was established that she could only be saved by someone close to her, and then you have her rescued by someone who felt so detached from her throughout this particular game. I understand her situation changed once she was no longer trapped within the water, but it felt like a back step. It really would've helped if they added anything to connect them in KH3, even just highlighting Sora frowning when he heard they couldn't find her, or him including her in his reasons to want to go to the RoD. It just felt like they decided long ago that Sora would save Aqua, but by KH3 they kinda forgot to really build towards that point until it was already time to save her. A little off-topic here, but I'll be forward with you: we're very big BbS trio fans. We adore them, and we wish Terra and Ven could've been involved in Aqua's rescue somehow, especially since they got her this far through the RoD. But our personal feelings aside, KH3 built on its own the idea that Ven would help rescue her. I'm not at all saying Ven should've just rescued her while Sora sat on the sidelines, but as I mentioned above, early game they established the idea that Aqua would have to be reached by someone very close to her, and in the same scene, Ven reacts within Sora. This happens twice, yet Ven is never indicated to actually help once they're in the RoD. It really gave the impression that Sora would be able to reach her since he carries Ven's heart, and would've been a good excuse for Sora himself to rescue her. Ven could've served as Sora's pathway to Aqua, but once he met with her, Sora himself could've done the actual saving. Maybe those scenes where Ven spoke up were only meant to tell you that he was ready to wake, but it feels like a missed opportunity or even a dropped plot line. Sorry for the rant. I really do like KH3 and I think it's a great game, but I still feel a little disappointed with some of its story decisions.

Hi, and welcome to the forums! You have to turn on the option in your account to save recordings of your streams. -First click your icon in the corner, then select Settings from the drop-down, -Click where it says "Channel and Videos" at the top of the Settings page. -After it takes you to a new page, there's a list of options on the left, and you'll be selected on "channel." Click "stream" above it. - Scroll down to VOD Settings and enable "Store past broadcasts" and it should keep your streams for you (only for up to 14 days, for the average Twitch member. Although if you use Twitch to cut clips of your video, I think the clips will stay up permanently?). You have to enable it before you start a stream, otherwise it won't save the stream you had going when you enabled it. Also, by "offline" I'm not sure if you mean off-stream or without internet connection, but if you want to save the stream videos to your computer, I think you'll have to use a separate video download program. I haven't done that myself, so I can't recommend any programs or guarantee that's what you'll have to do. I hope that helps!

Vanitas' Fate (AKA, Vanitas Deserved Better)
DestinysUnion replied to Latias's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Vanitas is a very difficult subject. lol One thing people need to understand is that the game's canon and the novel's canon are two different things. Vanitas' tragic backstory, the insight on how he felt about everything, and how Xehanort treated him are all exclusive to the novel. The games cannot be faulted for not following up on the novel's character arc, because the novels are not canon to the games. As a fanbase, we're allowed to mix and match elements of the game's, novel's, and manga's different canons, but we need to remember they are all different iterations of the same story. If you want to headcanon Vanitas' novel backstory as his in-game backstory, you're very free to do that, but I personally think it's clear now that the game didn't have a backstory like that in mind even as far back as BbS. I've seen some people say Tomoco Kanemaki (the KH novels author) worked on BbS, but that is false; her name is nowhere in the credits (believe me, I would know lol). She actually helped with 358/2 Days, and contributed to Xion's character, which she even highlighted at the end of its novel. If she had a hand in BbS, I think she would've said something in its closing comments. I've also seen some people say Nomura confirmed aspects of the (BbS?) novel are canon, but I've never seen this from a reliable source, so I think it's a rumor at best. Speaking strictly of the games, the only times I ever felt it left Vanitas open for sympathy was when he died in BbS, as it was clear he really didn't want to, and then his final scene in KH3 (although that seems to be pretty subjective to the viewer). Personally, I really do like Vanitas, but way more in the game than in the novel, actually. XD I totally understand other people seeing his story as a tragic one, seeing as how he's a child made of darkness (and the other half of a sweetheart like Ven), and I see why the novel wanted to expand on his story, given he's such a mysterious character, but I really don't think the game intended for him to be a sympathetic one. KH Union X has added a lot of lore about darkness in recent updates, and I personally think it's cleared up what the basis for Vanitas' character has been since BbS. I'm not talking about Vanitas' origins, I mean his personality and mindset. The way darkness is shown to think really lines up with Vanitas' final scene in KH3, and just seems to fit with what the games have shown of him in general. My interpretation of Vanitas is that he isn't supposed to be a sympathetic character, but he's not supposed to be a complete monster with zero personality and depth either. I think if anything, you're supposed to sympathize with Ven's and Sora's dysfunctional relationship with him. In the end, Vanitas is darkness, so he opposes light, and he's totally cool with it. He could've been more, Sora and Ven gave him the choice, but the thing is, he declined them of his own will. -
What is your favorite Titan of Olympus?
DestinysUnion replied to Power Jusho's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
I can't decide. lol I always liked the Ice Titan's design, but the Lava Titan was always cool, but the Tornado Titan is kinda cute. XD In KH3, he's like I think I remember shooting at him in first-person in the Buzz ride and being like "oh, he's cute?!" XD Also, Ocean's Rage is right about the Ice Colossus; here's his in-game journal description (courtesy of KH Wiki)- 19 replies

Kingdom Hearts birth by sleep psp
DestinysUnion replied to Vèńťúş_wíņđ_⅔'s topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
The international PSP version is a lot harder than Final Mix/the HD version,. For international audiences, they nerfed the player characters to make the game more difficult, but the Final Mix/HD version uses the character stats from the original Japanese version. In my experience, a level 20 Critical run on the PSP is a lot harder in the latter half of the game than a level 1 Critical playthrough in Final Mix/the HD version. lol The increased difficulty doesn't make the game grueling or unplayable or anything, it just might be surprising coming from the HD version. Critical mode was actually added in the international version. -
I think everyone who tried to beat the super bosses spent most of their time dying or leveling up for the fights. XD I also developed an unhealthy hatred for the Luxord fight. lol

I don't know if KH13 will make an official announcement about it or not, so here it is. lol The global version of LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum is featuring Pirate Sora and Young Xehanort for the first time, and they'll be available until the end of the month. They're currently in Lucky Time, meaning they have a higher drop rate until the 20th at 11:59 PM PST. They'll be brought back at least one more time at the end of the month, but after that, they'll cycle out again until a much later date. https://twitter.com/LINE_tsumtsum_g/status/1349989701621481473 They also teased a Score Challenge with some returning KH Tsum Tsum, although they haven't actually confirmed whether or not they'll be featured again. Interestingly, the ones teased for the challenge are Aqua, Kairi, Ansem, and KH3 Sora, but I'm only aware of the JP version bringing back Terra, Ven, and (I think) KH3 Sora for this event.

I would love for any of them to get representation in KH. I think the Fox and the Hound could have a neat world to explore with the forest and the countryside setting, but I don't think it would be very engaging otherwise. I'm totally up for it getting a cameo or nod somewhere, like Lady and the Tramp with the fountain in Traverse Town, etc. They could make a neat summon, like Todd and Copper rolling around and giving you a stat boost or something. Or if they're too wholesome for a summon sequence, maybe they could fit in Slade firing at your enemies. Without pushing the E10+ rating. XD I think Oliver & Company could also have a neat world with the busy streets of New York. Especially with a ground-level dog's-eye view (if it's a transformation world). The Black Cauldron would definitely be neat and original. I think its aesthetic would be very unique, although the Kingdom Shader would probably (appropriately) make it very dreary and grungy-looking (think the spot outside the Forbidden Mountain in the 0.2). I think the architecture and model textures would look great, though, and more medieval settings are always cool. If they stayed close to the movie, then a good portion of the maps would probably be inside the castle which would be very unique and cool for a numbered KH game. And they could get very creative (and creepy) with the Heartless designs if they wanted. lol But I voted for the Great Mouse Detective. XD I think the nighttime London aesthetic would be beautiful, and the scale would be amazing, since you'd have to be small. It'd be like Ven's Castle of Dreams, but hardcore and scary. XD It could also include a fight with a cat. And the clock tower fight would be amazing. The golden lights, and all the gears moving, plus the boss fight itself could be terrifying. XD I think the world would have a pretty unique feel to it when compared to other Disney worlds.

Characters who were unique but now aren't
DestinysUnion replied to Double OKP's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
The whole point of the journey was to obtain the power of waking, though, which he didn't manage until during KH3. At least, I'm pretty sure they said that. lol -
Characters who were unique but now aren't
DestinysUnion replied to Double OKP's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
In my opinion, there really can't be a great reason for Sora to not be recognized as a true Keyblade Master, but I also can't really blame Yen Sid for not making Sora a master at that exact moment either, considering he had failed the exam and lost most of his power, even despite how many times he proved himself master-worthy. The real reason, though, is that Nomura wants Sora to remain relatable and "not special," meaning no official title for him. At least Sora himself actually doesn't care about the title, the fans are the only ones who do. lol now when are Ven and Terra gonna get recognized???? it's the trio's dream, dang it -
Sorry I keep showing up in your posts, it's just when people talk about Birth by Sleep I tend to look. lol I'm going to try to avoid spoilers, but given your questions I'm going to have to say a few. Just minor spoilers for Birth by Sleep, and... I guess spoilers for Kingdom Hearts Union X? While I would always recommend playing the actual game, you could always look up the cutscenes to Birth by Sleep in the meantime, if you need the reference. Same with Union X, as you can find the English cutscenes online, as well as fan translations of the Japanese one.

As a head's up, Birth by Sleep is also available in the Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX collection (on PS3), as well as its port to the PS4 via the Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 & 2.5 ReMIX, and the Kingdom Hearts The Story So Far collection (which includes both the 1.5, 2.5 and the PS4-exclusive 2.8). Sorry if any of that's confusing! lol I just wanted to mention that in case you already own either of those consoles, since it'd probably be cheaper that way!

keyblade Bequeathing information
DestinysUnion replied to Animaster888's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
I assume you're referring to bequeathing a Keyblade? There really hasn't been much stated about it, but going from what we've seen in-game (and from what was stated in the Birth by Sleep Ultimania) Keyblades are bequeathed when the inheritor touches the handle of a Keyblade Master's Keyblade (ex. Kairi accidentally inheriting it from Aqua, Riku getting it from Terra). Although Terra is not officially a Master, he was able to pass the power to Riku because he is practically a Master (this is stated in the BbS Ultimania). It's been stated there are several qualifications the inheritor needs for receiving a Keyblade, but they've been left vague and the only one we really know is that the receiver needs to have a strong heart. Also, I've seen some fan interpretations infer that a Master can only bequeath to one person, and sometimes that they lose their own Keyblade once the inheritor obtains their Keyblade. Personally, I think these interpretations are false, as they aren't supported anywhere and seem to be contradicted in-game. I don't think there are any limits (or at least not strict ones) for how many times a Master can pass the power, since we see several instances of a Master with multiple apprentices. Also, it seems Yen Sid's done it at least twice (Mickey and Lea), and Aqua passed it to Kairi and then considered giving it to Sora (assuming Aqua was aware she gave it to Kairi). And it doesn't seem like anyone loses their Keyblade once their successors obtain theirs, since Terra passed Riku the power, and then Sora got his Keyblade, and they all three still have their own Keyblades. And the same thing with Aqua and Kairi, and Eraqus, Terra and Aqua. I hope that helps! And cute Ven icon, by the way! lol -
I'm curious how they're handling the pieces, since each side (in normal chess) uses 16 pieces. Will some of the Darknesses repeat? They're really confusing to look at from a distance. lol For the light side, I see the pieces for Sora (crown), Riku (Heartless emblem), Kairi (star), Mickey (Mickey emblem), Terra (Ends of the Earth keychain), Aqua (Stormfall keychain), Ven (Wayward Wind keychain), and I think they've added Roxas and Lea in the far right corner? (Roxas' cross and Lea's keyblade keychain) And then numerous pieces for KHUx (the hollowed out star).

KH rookie confused, please help!
DestinysUnion replied to Carsten Winkler Farsinsen's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
I recommend sticking to the order you have and not skipping to 358/2 Days, since it spoils things for KH COM and KH2, and I think it could become confusing. If you have a hard time with COM's system, I personally think it helps to keep these in mind: 1. There are two shortcut buttons for your deck during battle, I think they're up and down on the control pad, one of which is a shortcut to the card you use to recharge your deck, and the other is one you personally set to any card in your present deck. This is explained at the beginning of the game, but I forgot it instantly and suffered through the majority of the game without it. lol 2. Although you can run around and dodge in battle, it's usually best to just use your cards to cancel enemy attacks. I used to have the habit of running when a heartless approached me like in any other game, but it helps to remember that they can't hurt you unless their card appears on-screen, and in most cases there's enough of a lag for you to counter them. It's good to keep in mind because otherwise you might run away from them while trying to go through your deck, and that adds unnecessary tension to the game when fighting regular heartless. You can stand in their faces as long as their cards don't appear on screen yet. 3. I don't know if you've started the game yet, so I'll give a slight explanation on the "0 card." If an enemy uses a card with a number on it, and while their card is still on screen, you can use a card with a higher number than their's to cancel their attack and perform your own. And if you use a card with the same number as their attack, then both your attacks with be nullified. 0 cards are special, because even though any card can cancel them out, they can cancel out any card as well. I think it's good to keep the 0 card as your customized shortcut, since it can even cancel out the special moves in boss fights (which can be up to number 27). 4. You don't have to hit the enemy to cancel their move with your card. You can be across the screen and as long as your card is greater, they'll be canceled. Overall, the best thing to do is practice it. It's really hard and weird at first, but as you go through the game you'll learn it. I really like the system now, and I was awful at it when I started. But if the system stays uncomfortable for you, I think Everglow on Youtube had a tutorial video on COM. And while others have said this, I agree that the Days cards are just extras. Unless you want to 100% your deck, you don't actually need them. Anyway, good luck with the game, and I hope you enjoy the rest of the series!- 19 replies

Please just stop pulling. Take my advice. I totally understand how you feel with the frustration of not getting the medal you want, but when you pulled HD Aqua EX on your first try, that was a freak accident. Do not use that as a gauge for the pull rates. The pull rates for featured medal's are ridiculously low, so you're much better off just saving your jewels for when his banner comes back because he'll probably be guaranteed within five pulls then, whereas the current banner has no guarantees for the medal itself, just its trait medal. If you want a Ven medal right now, your best bet is to build up your jewels for Stained Glass #2, because it lasts three weeks, so there's no frustrating time restraints, and the first pull is free, and you're guaranteed it after five pulls. It's a Reverse medal, which is not the most useful thing to have starting out, but it has so many good buffs on it (which is a huge thing in this game) that it would definitely do you way more good than HD Ventus EX, on top of being an excellent medal. Once you get the hang of the game, it's not hard to get jewels. If you do all your daily missions every day, log in every day, and do all the weekly party missions, then you can get about 4,000 jewels a week. And by the time Stained Glass #2's deal is almost up, you should have 12,000 jewels which should be enough to get it, and that's not counting the jewels you get from story mode. As a rule of thumb, just don't bet on getting a featured medal if it's not guaranteed within a certain amount of pulls. You can pull on no mercy banners (banners without guarantees) if there's something you want and it's not frustrating you, but make sure you can curb it after a certain amount of jewels. So if there's a medal you want, always keep an eye out for the "guaranteed within (however many) pulls" in the notice or the scroll-y box under its banner in the store. I'm sorry this is has frustrated you, we've all been there at some point (this is coming from a fellow BbS medal collector), but try no to let it get to you. It's a just a game. I know this game can cause a whole lot of stress for people, so if you need to, don't feel bad to break for a while or quit the game altogether because it's not worth it.
