All the Problems Of KH 1.5 + 2.5 Remix
smellslikejavier replied to CursedKeyblade1's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
This is a little disappointing to me considering that I never played a KH game in my life and I was expecting this PS4 collection to be the "definitive edition". I mean I'm still really excited to get it and I'm sure some of these problems might not be present on every playthrough, and maybe the Western releases will either perform better (or worse but let's hope it doesn't ) or Square will patch some of them before its US/EU release or release a patch for it some days later. -
All the Problems Of KH 1.5 + 2.5 Remix
smellslikejavier replied to CursedKeyblade1's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Considering that KH 2.8 got 2 patches (maybe more?) then maybe this time Square will actually do something to patch 1.5 and 2.5 now that they are on PS4. -
1.5+2.5 load times comparison: PS3 vs PS4
smellslikejavier replied to smellslikejavier's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
You mean the PS2 one? are the load times as short as the PS4 version here or are they some seconds longer? -
The price has been known since months ago, on both SE official website and the PS Store: $49.99

A KH Game Could Work Well On The Switch
smellslikejavier replied to Tails's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
I can't believe some people are still complaining to Square for not releasing more KH games on Xbox, I'm not being a fanboy here I'm just looking at the facts: 1- The Xbox One is a huge failure on sales on Japan, reason why the majority of Japanese games never gets released on Xbox (to name some recent ones, FF7 remaster and remake, FF12 Zodiac Age, Ni No Kuni 1 and 2, Nier Automata, I Am Setsuna, Danganronpa Collection, Yakuza, etc...) 2- Both FFXV and FFType-0 performed badly on Xbox One, the former sold 80% of its copies on PS4: https://www.gamereactor.eu/news/487863/Almost+80%25+of+Final+Fantasy+XV+UK+sales+were+on+PS4/ while the later didn't even charted within the Top 50 of X1's releases: http://www.dualshockers.com/2015/03/27/xbox-one-final-fantasy-type-0-misses-the-top-50-battlefield-hardline-manages-as-ps4-dominates-japan/ 3- The PS4 being the best selling home console of the current gen, being 20-30 millons units sold ahead of the X1: www.vgchartz.com 4- The reason why the X1 is getting a KH 3 port to begin with is just because it was decided before the new gen started and seeing the success of the X360 last gen Square Enix thought the Xbox One was also going to be selling huge this new gen, it turns out that didn't happened and the PS4 became the leading system and their latest releases on X1 performed badly like I mentioned before. I think X1 users should be glad that KH 3 didn't end up being cancelled for their console after all that. So being honest I don't think KH 3 will perform that well on X1 either, if FFXV which was a super hyped game before its release sold 80% of its copies on PS4 then KH 3 and it's "childish and Japanese" look will appeal even less to the general X1 fanbase. With all that said I do believe they should port KH 3 to the Switch, it would at least sell far better there than on the XOne. Also what are the spin-offs you guys are talking about? I thought every game on the KH franchise was important to the overall storyline, maybe excluding Re:coded? -
Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX PS4 Trophies released
smellslikejavier replied to Jake's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
But not for the thousands who either never owned a PS3 or just didn't played any KH game on it, the later is my case but no we're already 1 day from the Japanese release and still no trophy lists for those two, so yeah they have been removed :c -
Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX PS4 Trophies released
smellslikejavier replied to Jake's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
I also noticed that they removed the "Final Mix" subtitle from the PS3 trophy lists too: https://psnprofiles.com/search/games?q=kingdom%20hearts Too bad they removed the trophy lists for Days and Re:coded since I like to collect trophies, but oh well it's fine! -
Thing is Japanese games (JRPGs, visual novels, animes, etc) never really sold that well on Xbox. 1- The Xbox brand was always a failure on sales on Japan, nowadays even the PS3 is selling better than the Xbox One there every month according to sales charts numbers. Reason why there are and there will be way more Japanese games on PlayStation 4 than on Xbox One: Danganronpa collections, Yakuza 0, Star Ocean 5, Persona 5, Ni No Kuni 2, Shenmue 3, Final Fantasy 7 remaster and remake, Final Fantasy 12 Zodiac Age remaster, 999 and Last Reward The Nonary Games, I Am Setsuna, etc... 2- Recently FFXV and FFType-0 were reported to have sold 80% of their copies on PS4 while a minimum of copies were sold on Xbox One worldwide. 3- The reason why the XOne will get a KH 3 port was considered before the new gen started, and due the success of the X360 last gen SE thought the XOne was going to be selling really well this gen, but it turns out that the PS4 became the best selling console (50 millions PS4 sold vs 20 millions XOne sold: VGChartz.com) and like I said the last FF releases on XOne didn't sold really well. If Square would've know this beforehand I doubt they would have green-lighted an XOne port.

this game has gotten amazing reviews on nearly all sites, so it seems its going to be very good! people who says they aren't interested on it either don't have a PS4 (which is weird, considering they are on a KH site and 1.5, 2.5 and 2.8 are PS3/PS4 exclusives) and might be jealous or well they just aren't interested on this type of game which is fine. i don't read my notifications by the way*

I was actually comparing their difficulty to KH's difficulty, I didn't explicitly said that FF games were hard although personally I find it hard to accomplish 100% on them based on all the extra stuff or at least very time consuming, but it might just be 'cause I'm a little impatient with that kind of stuff.
-
I think the most popular/beloved FF games are FF 7 (undoubtedly the most popular one, is even getting a current gen remake based on its popularity, even though is gameplay and of course graphics are pretty outdated for nowadays standards) and FF 10 (besides others) so I would recommend you to play those. I had more fun with 10's gameplay, although 7's story and characters are far more superior in my opinion. They aren't connected story-wise at all (maaaybe some of them shares some monsters, name references, etc but overall pretty irrelevant stuff) unless otherwise noted in their title's numbers (FF X-2 is a direct sequel to FF X, Dirge of Cerberus FF VII is I think a prequel to FF VII), etc Gameplay-wise I believe the FF games are harder (specially the older ones) compared to KH's gameplay (which is kind of obvious considering their target audiences) but still pretty enjoyable. And I believe their stories aren't convoluted but personally I find some of the terms, mythological stuff, background stuff, etc somewhat confusing but that's just me.

With the way things are on the current gaming market there's probably not going to be one, all additional content will most likely be released as DLC or have a Season Pass. Maybe they could release a Complete Edition afterwards with the subtitle Final Mix as a reference to past similar editions, that would be cool at least.

Ow they replaced my whole thread would've liked that they kept my original underneath the new one but it doesn't matter. Yes that's very sad but since the physical gaming market is still very healthy on consoles (and I think in many cases most of the sales comes from there) you shouldn't worry about it at all for now I strongly believe everything will still be physical when the PS5 comes and maybe the PS6 too, so companies won't get rid of the physical format until the digital one really takes over and physical stops being profitable, but like I said that won't happen in the nearly future so just don't think about it ;P

Maybe they just got the information wrong or added it just to go along with the "4K" words, it wouldn't make sense otherwise considering KH DDD already runs at 60fps on the standard PS4 and it is capable to run PS3 remasters such as The Last of Us and the Uncharted Collection at 60fps too, so some PS2 ones should be even less of a problem. And I mean the fps thing is one of the best incentive for those people who already played the PS3 collections to buy the PS4 ones anyways.

I hope this doesn't come as off-topic, but could somebody answer this 2 questions for me regarding cutscenes?: 1- Why is it that KH 2 has so many hours of cutscenes? is the game much longer than the first one or did they just added more cutscenes while maybe sacrificing a little bit more of gameplay time? 2- Since 358/2 Days and Re:coded are movies, is there a way to pause them, quit the game, and then resume watching them in the same place I left it? Thank you, and as for your question I would say it will probably be as long as KH 2? after all there's a lot of hype surrounding the game so I doubt it would be shorter than the previous one, the game its like a FFXV 2.0 at this point

I used to think Utada's music was the reason behind these after seeing all those people saying the same thing, but after I made that other thread asking if this collection would end up being released on the PS Store or not some user shared this article with me: http://www.siliconera.com/2011/02/23/nomura-comments-on-kingdom-hearts-birth-by-sleeps-absence-on-psn/ in which Nomura explains why BBS wasn't released on PSN: "The problem does not lie with Square Enix, Disney or Hikaru Utada who performed the game’s theme song. "It’s difficult because of a reason I cannot say," Nomura explained. Nomura says he is thinking about how to make a downloadable version available, but he needs more time." Well its not really an explanation since he "can't say" the real reason , but at least we know it never had anything to do with Utada, although that rumor is still circulating even to this day. Like someone else told me some time ago it might have had something to do with piracy, but yeah unless Nomura is allowed to explain the real reason someday we'll never know for sure.

Thank you man!! thanks for all your support on my other thread I couldn't be happier to read about this news ^_^ will be pre-ordering it day one for sure! Haha yeah you're right, there was pretty much no reason for it to not have one! but I was still scared that it wouldn't for some reason x3 Even though I only buy digital stuff I really support physical copies, and I hope that digital doesn't take over at least not anytime soon But yes, hooray for PS4's mandatory releases!! -except for Lego Dimensions, Skylanders and Puyo Puyo Tetris- although the first two are understandable since one still needs physical stuff to play with them, but that last one is a weird case That's true, in my opinion at least it should be available only as a temporal exclusive for digital pre-orders and then be available on the PS Store for all the other people who got the physical release

Yes I do love physical copies so I hope that trend never dies even though for accessibility and some other reasons I buy all my games through the PS Store nowadays. But yeah I fully support all those people who prefers physical over digital! and I'm really glad I'll finaly get to try this series.
