    Judging by the end scene of the opening, maybe it's foreshadowing that Sora will be the one to save her but if 0.2 takes place before Blank Points then it could be about KH3.

    Ven was a part of UX's anniversary artwork with Skuld and Ephemera, its possible he has some sort of connection to them. If Ven was from the time of the Keyblade War maybe he was friends with them and was a Dandilion he would have been saved from the war brought to the time of the KH games.

    It makes sense since Ven and Vanitas can owe their appearance and existence to Sora, so maybe deep within Sora's heart that piece of Vanitas is still there just in a dormant state.
