  1. So, it turns out, the official English translation replaced the reference mark with a blank space like this: ____ "a ____ world." - The Master of Masters
  2. The scarf thing that the normal Dark Infernos have is more red while the Dark Inferno χ's scarf thing is more yellow. So, if Ephemer is connected to them somehow, it's most likely to the normal Dark Infernos instead of Dark Inferno χ. KHUχ is connected to KH3 in many ways, not just this one example. There was the whole section where Ephemer and the light from the Keyblade wielders of the past helped in the Keyblade Graveyard as Sora rode on top of their Keyblades.
  3. Those are Nightmare Dream Eaters, not Spirit Dream Eaters. And we actually currently have no reason to believe that Spirit Dream Eaters other than Chirithys can turn into Nightmare Dream Eaters. In χ Back Cover, The Master of Masters says that if Spirits get consumed by malice/darkness, they turn dark and become a Nightmare, but he was only talking about the Chirithys in that moment. And Chirithys were the only Dream Eaters that existed at that time. It's currently unknown where all the Nightmare Dream Eaters we see and fight in KHDDD come from/how they are made. I have a theory though. "See you in another dream." Dark Chirithy said this way back in the original KHχ. And we all assumed he was talking about seeing us again in KHUχ because we were brought to the Unchained realm AKA "a world made of dreams." We all waited for Dark Chirithy to show up in KHUχ, but he never did. And we learned that we didn't go to "a world made of dreams," we went to data worlds. But now, at long last, the Dandelions have finally gone to "a world made of dreams." Because their hearts are now sleeping and they are now Spirit Dream Eaters due to forming together with their Chirithys. And now that the Dandelions are in a world made of dreams, Dark Chirithy can still fulfill his promise of returning in another dream. And the way that he returns is in the form of Nightmare Dream Eaters.
  4. The Dream Eaters are both the sleeping hearts of the wielders as well as the wielders' Chirithys. We see the wielders' hearts and the Chrithys form together to create the Dream Eaters. The Chirithys do this to protect and watch over the sleeping wielders' hearts. It can sort of be seen as the Chirithys turning into protective shells over the hearts.
  5. Other than the series always thematically showing that love is the ultimate answer and power, even more so than the power of light or darkness, here are some quotes: From Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep: Aqua: "A pure heart filled with light... It's strange, the Master taught me darkness needs to be destroyed. But how, if not with light?" Fairy Godmother: "Oh, my dear, you're too young to know. Experience more things, and you'll find the answer. Just trust in your dreams." (Fairy Godmother implying the only way to defeat darkness other than with light is with love.) From Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep: Yen Sid: "I will tell you what your friend needs right now. It is not your protection. He needs you to believe. You see, Ventus's heart hangs in the balance. It sleeps in the place between light and darkness. From all I can perceive, that means he will be looking for a friend--one who believes in him, to show him the way home. Just as long as you love him...then Ventus will be able to find you when he wakes. He can follow that love back to where he belongs--the realm of light.” (Yen Sid implying the balance between light and darkness is love and that love is the only thing that can lead Ventus' heart home.) From Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories: Riku: "What are you making me choose now?" DiZ: "Between the road to light and the road to darkness." Riku: "Neither suits me. I'm taking the middle road." DiZ: "Do you mean the twilight road to nightfall?" Riku: "No. It's the road to dawn." (Riku not choosing light or darkness, but choosing what he calls "dawn.") From Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance: Riku (to Ansem, Seeker of Darkness and Young Xehanort): "I walk the road to dawn!" Riku (to Ansem, Seeker of Darkness): "Consume the darkness, return it to light.” Young Xehanort (to Riku): "I don't know how you did it, but you really have found a way to trap darkness inside your heart. And a boy who's immune to darkness is of no use to us." (Riku reaffirming that he wields both light and darkness, and that he turns the darkness into light. That is the state he calls "dawn." And Young Xehanort confirming that by walking the road to dawn, Riku has somehow become immune to darkness.) From Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance: Data-Ansem the Wise: "The heart has always been quick to grow. Each exposure to light, to the natural world, to other people, shapes this most malleable part inside of us. Nobodies are not different from us in that manner. Sora was the only one able to return to his human form without destroying his Nobody. That is a statement to the love in his heart for other people, and the bonds that tie them together. Perhaps...he has the power to bring back the hearts and existences of those connected to him—to recreate people we thought were lost to us forever. Our most precious treasures—even an empty puppet—the trees of the forest, and the petals on the wind—there are hearts around us everywhere we look. And it does not take superhuman powers to see them. Surely we remember as children the way our hearts made everything seem so shiny, and perfect. Sora has a heart like that—uncorrupted, willing to see the good before the bad. When he sees the heart in something, it then becomes real. When a connection seems broken, he may have the power to mend it. He has touched countless hearts, he has accepted them, and he has saved them. And some of those hearts have never left him—whether they fell into darkness or were trapped there—whether they sleep in the darkness of Sora's heart, or were welcomed into its warmth—they can be saved. All Sora needs to do is be himself and follow wherever it is that his heart takes him. It is the best and the only way." (Data-Ansem the Wise saying that Sora's uninhibited undying love for people and his willingness to always see the good before the bad in anyone or anything is the ultimate answer that could solve everything and save everyone.) From Kingdom Hearts III: Ventus: "I didn't ask for this. To be sifted apart nice and neat. We should be free to choose. Not just light, not just darkness. We decide what we are." (Ventus implying light and darkness are choices and you can choose to be both or neither.)
  6. Here's King Mickey arriving in The World That Never Was in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. Here's the Replica for Roxas being sent to the Keyblade Graveyard by Ienzo, Even, Ansem the Wise, etc. in Kingdom Hearts III. (Which Roxas' heart comes out of Sora and then goes into the moment it arrives.) It's the exact same method of travel/arriving at a world. They have the same animation of a sparkle in the sky and then a beam of light coming down from where the sparkle was, transporting a person or object to a world.
  7. That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying if this was a more typical and mainstream series, such as Marvel, they would just simply call it another universe to make it simpler for the audience even if it's not an entirely accurate descriptor. If this was a more mainstream series, such as Marvel, I definitely think they would use terms such as "dimensions" or the "multiverse" or whatnot to make things easier for the mainstream audience even if those terms aren't really accurate. But, I guess a more mainstream series probably wouldn't even have concepts as crazy as unreality in the first place. Multiverses and alternate dimensions are already a hard concept for most people to grasp, but I guess unreality is even more of an out there concept in comparison.
  8. That's not what he says though. The direct quotes are: "Where voices can't reach... The other side of our world, of reality... Unreality? A fictional world? I'm afraid such mysteries are beyond our comprehension." "Yes, perhaps. The three realms of our world—light, darkness, and between—these are all places we can travel to because they are on "our side." This also includes the worlds of memories, data, and dreams. If I am correct, then this "other side" of our world from which voices cannot reach must be a place outside of our reality. Namely, it must be unreality, or fiction. But...that is the extent of our knowledge." He never calls it a realm or says its "like" a realm. There is their side of the world which consists of realms, and then there is the other side of reality/the world. When I said "Ansem the Wise states it's not a realm like the realms of light, darkness, between, dreams, memories, or data, and is instead "the other side of our World."" I meant "Ansem the Wise states it's not a realm such as the realms of light, darkness, between, dreams, memories, or data, and is instead "the other side of our World."" I was using the word "like" the same way you would use "such as." I was using it as a way to say it's not a realm and is instead something else. I wasn't using it as a way to say it's not a realm similar to other realms. The way people use the word "dimension" in media and stories is completely different than what the actual definition is. I think it's pretty obvious what I was saying. I was saying that instead of calling other worlds or universes or "other sides of our world" or whatever things such as "alternate dimensions", "other universes", "multiverses", etc. like usual mainstream stories and media do, Kingdom Hearts instead chooses to use words to describe things like that that aren't typically used in stories and media. I'm saying the easy thing to do to make things easiest for the audience to understand would be to just use those typical terms that most stories and media use such as "alternate dimensions" and whatnot, but Kingdom Hearts chooses not to. And I explained why I think it chooses to do that and why I love that about it.
  9. We don't know enough about the nature of this new realm to say what for sure? That they used the term "unreality" instead of "alternate dimension?" But, that's what they literally did. Instead of using the term "alternate dimension," they used the terms "unreality" and "fiction." Also, it's not a realm. Ansem the Wise states it's not a realm like the realms of light, darkness, between, dreams, memories, or data, and is instead "the other side of our World."
  10. He acted as if he was from there to protect the World Order. It's explained right when Sora arrives at Country of the Musketeers. Sora is confused as to what world he's in because it's not Disney Castle but Mickey is there for some reason. Mickey tells Sora to shh when he's about to mention his Keyblade, realizes that Sora is also from another world, and tells Sora he's only in this world being a Musketeer because he's currently working on a problem. And then Sora realizes he's just in a world that Mickey has visited before. Sora: "I'm not in Disney Castle, and that world isn't one of the one's that's asleep. I don't get it." Mickey: "You okay? What's wrong?" Sora: "Oh, um... I was wondering... where I was?" Mickey: "Hmm? Where'd you get that key?" Sora: "This? It's a Keyb—" Mickey: "Shh. I know. You came from another world, right?" Sora: "Huh? Uh, yeah." Mickey: "My name's Mickey. I'm workin' on a problem. That's why I'm in this world bein' a Musketeer." Sora: "Hmm... So, am I in a world the King visited that I don't know about— a world that's trapped in sleep somewhere?"
  11. They're portals that people who have the Power of Waking can create to enter someone's heart/dream. Riku creates one at the end of Dream Drop Distance to go into Sora's heart/dream to wake him up. Inside his heart/dream took the form of Destiny Islands. And Sora creates one at the end of KH3 to go into Xehanort's heart which took the form of Scala ad Caelum.
  12. Country of the Musketeers is not the same world as Timeless River/Disney Town/Disney Castle. Country of the Musketeers is just one of the many worlds that Mickey visited on his adventures.
  13. I think it's possible for Xehanort to be a Nobody that has grown a heart, but he's not the first Nobody to have been created. Nobodies have always existed for as long as Heartless have existed. Which is way before Xehanort's time.
  14. People often ask why Kingdom Hearts uses terms like "hurt" instead of "pain" or "unreality" instead of "alternate dimension." Or why they use the terms "light" and "darkness" so much. The in-universe explanation for this is that the Kingdom Hearts World works very differently than our universe and has its own set of labels and rules for many things. The real world meta explanation for this though is that Tetsuya Nomura seems to like Kingdom Hearts to sort of establish its own labels and rules for things. And there's a reason why. For example, they're now calling the other side of the World that Yozora comes from "unreality" and "fiction" rather than just saying its another dimension or something. Getting used to these terms and the way they're used can be odd and jarring at times, however that's kind of the point as these unique terms sort of make you think and wonder more about these concepts. Something more mainstream such as Marvel uses more common terms such as other "dimensions" and the "multiverse" to bring characters and worlds together that usually wouldn't make much sense to bring together to make it make more sense and easy to understand for the audience so they can just focus on the characters and worlds that are being brought together instead of focusing on how weird and incomprehensible the concepts of other realities and universes really are. Kingdom Hearts likes to use words such as "unreality" and "fictional worlds" to put more focus on what these concepts actually mean and how weird and incomprehensible these concepts truly are. Instead of shying away from how philosophically weird and trippy some concepts are in order to make things easier for the audience to understand, Kingdom Hearts fully leans into it. So, if they were to just use the term "pain" instead of "hurt," you would think you understand what they're talking about completely and not take a closer look at the concept being talked about, while using the term "hurt" makes you take a closer look and examine what the concept of pain/hurt truly means and makes you wonder if you even do understand what it really means. There are concepts in life that we take for granted and think we know what they truly mean just because we've heard the words and the definitions of the words our entire lives, so we don't really take the moment to really think about it philosophically. If they used the word "pain" it would've just become another sentence that passes by and gets replaced by the next sentence without you taking a deeper look into what's being said. I remember as a young kid playing Kingdom Hearts and some of these odd terms would really make me think more about the underlying philosophy and existentialism of it all rather than just focusing on the more generic aspects that overlie it all. People often make fun of Kingdom Hearts for these odd terms and how often some terms like light or darkness are used, but I really do think there's a point to it. The way these terms are used might seem silly in a conventional way, but Kingdom Hearts has never been about thinking conventionally and has always been about establishing and following its own rules. The stuff with Yozora and Quadratum has made me the most interested in the series' future than I have been in a while. The mystique and intrigue of it is on par with after I saw KH1's secret ending for the first time. It's got the same vibes of what got me so hooked on the series so much as a young kid in the first place. It even brings back the same KH1 opening quote, bringing it back to the roots of what made the series so interesting and stand out. The theme of existential confusion that underlies the whole series. "I've been having these weird thoughts lately, like is any of this for real, or not?" "None of this... makes sense to me." Nomura has even said that the KH1 opening quote is what got KH approved in the first place. Q9: What can you say about the secret boss & episode? Nomura: "The secrets contain my thoughts about the future of the series, but with the information out at present I don't think you'll be able to guess any of it. Some parts of the battle ended up very different from what I requested. But it surprised me in a good way, so take it as it is." Q10: Why did lines from KH1 appear in the final trailer? Nomura: "Those were lines I'd long wanted to put together if I ever got the chance. You may not understand, but the inclusion of those lines is what got the world of Kingdom Hearts approved. There is no mystery to solve this time, they stand at the doorway." While many aspects of the story weren't planned by Nomura in advance, I definitely believe there has always been underlying themes and meanings that Nomura has rooted in the series and stayed consistent with and has had plans for ever since the first game. And now that the main story that has been going on with Xehanort is finally complete, it seems like he will finally bring out those underlying themes and meanings in full force and bring them to the forefront rather than in the background. Things are going to start getting really existential, meta, and trippy going forward. And I think this is what Nomura has planned for, hoped for, and always wanted to do since the first game. And I think those quotes of his prove that. The ongoing story has concluded. The ongoing mysteries have now been concluded. The time has come for the underlying themes of existential confusion, hearts, fake worlds, data worlds, dreams, other versions of yourself, not knowing what is real, etc. that have been built up and built up to finally explode and to get what Kingdom Hearts has always truly been about. "There is no mystery to solve this time, they stand at the doorway."
  15. Namine is not Ventus and Kairi's daughter. And Roxas is not Ventus and Sora's kid. Kairi is a Princess of Heart, so she has no darkness in her heart, so she can't form a Heartless. If her heart is lost, it doesn't become a Heartless. And therefore, she doesn't form a Nobody. In order for a Nobody to be created, a Heartless needs to be created. Instead, her body just lays comatose with no heart. Kairi's heart was within Sora. When Sora stabbed himself with the Keyblade of Heart, his heart and Kairi's hearts were released. In order for a Nobody to be created, a heart needs to be released from a body and a Heartless needs to form. Sora's heart was released from his body, which turned into a Shadow Heartless. Which also created Sora's Nobody, Roxas. Kairi's heart was released from a body, Sora's body, so a Nobody was created, which is Namine. Since it was Kairi's heart that was released from a body, then it's Kairi's Nobody. Sora's Heartless acted as the Heartless needed to form a Nobody for both Sora's Nobody, Roxas, and Kairi's Nobody, Namine. Roxas is made out of Sora's body and soul, and Namine is made out of Sora's body and soul, even though she's Kairi's Nobody. At the end of BBS, Ventus' heart was fractured, so it went into Sora's heart to recover. Ventus' heart was still within Sora's body when he stabbed himself with the Keyblade of Heart, but instead of getting released like the other hearts, it stayed behind within Sora's body, therefore staying within Sora's Nobody, Roxas. Ventus' heart within Roxas is what causes Roxas to take on the appearance of Ventus. If Ventus' heart wasn't within Roxas, then Roxas would look like Sora. And now that Roxas is within Sora currently, Ventus' heart is back within Sora as well.
  16. Kingdom Key is not "the Keyblade of the Realm of Light" and Kingdom Key D is not "the Keyblade of the Realm of Darkness." As far as we know, they are not special Keyblades in any way. There are no Keyblades that single handedly represent a realm. There are three types of Keyblades: Keyblades of Light, Keyblades of Darkness, and the Keyblade of Heart. Keyblades of Light are Keyblades forged in the Realm of Light (by The Master of Masters). Keyblades of Darkness are Keyblades forged in the Realm of Darkness when a world falls to darkness that a Keyblade of Light was obtained at, and the Keyblade of Heart is the Keyblade created from the Princesses of Heart's hearts. Keyblades of Light were all forged by The Master of Masters way back in the Age of Fairy Tales by him reaching into the depths of people's hearts, Keyblades of Darkness are forged on a world that a Keyblade of Light was obtained by someone at once that world falls to darkness, and the Keyblade of Heart can be forged/reforged out of all of the Princesses of Heart's hearts. Kingdom Key is just simply a Keyblade of Light and Kingdom Key D is just simply a Keyblade of Darkness. Any Keyblade of Light and Keyblade of Darkness can be used to seal the Door to Darkness. Having a "Keyblade of Between" or a "Keyblade of the In-between" wouldn't make any sense since Keyblade forged in the Realm Between are just Keyblades of Light. I'm guessing the Keyblade that Aqua is using is Mickey's new Keyblade. It looks like a mixture between the two Keyblades that Mickey owns: Kingdom Key D and Star Seeker. So, I'd say he finds a way to fuse or mix his two Keyblades into one.
  17. Kingdom Key and Kingdom Key D aren't any different from any other Keyblade of Light and Keyblade of Darkness as far as we know. There are Keyblades of Light, Keyblades of Darkness, and a Keyblade of Heart. Keyblades of Light are Keyblades forged in the Realm of Light, Keyblades of Darkness are Keyblades forged in the Realm of Darkness when a world falls to darkness that a Keyblade of Light was obtained at, and the Keyblade of Heart is the Keyblade created from the Princesses of Heart's hearts. As far as we know, Kingdom Key and Kingdom Key D are not special in any way. Kingdom Key is just a Keyblade from the Realm of Light (a Keyblade of Light) and Kingdom Key D is just a Keyblade from the Realm of Darkness (a Keyblade of Darkness). It wouldn't make sense for there to be any Keyblades of Between since Keyblades forged in the Realm Between would also just be Keyblades of Light as far as we know.
  18. Sora got a new outfit in KH1, KH2, DDD, and KH3. Riku got a new outfit in KH1, at the end of CoM, in KH2, DDD, and KH3. Kairi got a new outfit in KH1, KH2 and KH3. Mickey got a new outfit in BBS, KH1/CoM, KH2, and KH3. So, why don't Donald and Goofy ever get new outfits? Sure, they have different outfits that they alternate between, such as their royal Disney Castle outfits, the outfits they wear when they adventure with Sora, and their casual classic Disney outfits, but they never get any new outfits like Sora, Riku, Kairi, and Mickey do. They've had the same three outfits ever since KH1. They need new adventure/battle outfits that maybe sort of match Sora's KH3 outfit, just like how Riku and Mickey's KH3 outfits match. What do you think? Do you think Donald and Goofy should get new outfits? And why do you think they've never received new outfits?
  19. From what we've seen in Kingdom Hearts III trailers so far, we'll be fighting a Heartless boss in each world, and possibly an Organization XIII member in each world. The only Disney villains that we have seen so far, aside from Maleficent and Pete, are Hades and Lythos. I hope we will still be able to fight against the Disney villains for each respective world. I want to fight Zurg from Toy Story. I want to fight Lythos, Hydros, Pyros, Stratos, and the Cyclops from Hercules. I want to fight Randall from Monsters, Inc. I want to fight Mother Gothel from Tangled. And I want to fight Yokai from Big Hero 6. We fought against Heartless bosses in KH2, as well as the Disney villains, but for Beast's Castle, we fought Xaldin instead of Gaston. I hope that the Organization XIII members in Kingdom Hearts III aren't taking the place of the Disney villains for each world like how Xaldin took the place of Gaston. It's possible that we don't even fight the Organization XIII members in the Disney worlds that they show up in in Kingdom Hearts III, and they just appear and talk to Sora to try to manipulate him like they did in Dream Drop Distance, but it seems like they are trying to make the Disney worlds more relevant to the overall plot (which is a good thing), so it seems sort of like the Organization XIII members might be taking the place of the Disney villains in order to make that happen. If we are going to fight the Organization XIII members in the Disney worlds, then I hope it doesn't replace the Disney villain boss fights, and they are just another separate boss fight instead. Another point of concern is the fact that most of the Disney worlds will have new unique original plots that differ or continue from the respective Disney movies. This is a good thing because it's fixing something many people complained about from the previous games, which is having to play through the exact plot from the Disney movies, but it's a point of concern in regards to which characters will appear in the worlds. The fact that some of the worlds are having plots that continue from where the Disney movies left off could mean that we won't be fighting the Disney villains from those worlds, since they were defeated in the movies. I hope they find a way to make the villains return somehow, because not having a boss fight against Yokai in the Big Hero 6 world or a fight against Zurg or Stinky Pete in the Toy Story world would be a really big missed opportunity. I might be overthinking things, but who knows. What are your thoughts on this?
