I don't have any issues with live action movies in KH but rather with Marvel and Star Wars. I don't dislike either of them, but I just feel KH can never do them justice because they are such big franchises on their own. We are not talking about a 90 minutes regular Disney movie which does not have necessary sequels but a whole universe for each respective world. The previous Kingdom Hearts games barely managed to cover the usual Disney movies within the few cutscenes available. Even with KH3 probably becoming quite a bit larger, I still have my doubts whether they will be able to incorporate even a small part of those franchises accordingly without making it feel unfinished and rushed. I think people will be disappointed because both Marvel and Star Wars are not likely to play an amazingly important role in the last part of the Seeker of Darkness saga. Apart from Maleficent and the live action movie of Alice in Wonderland (I mean, there is a Wonderland world already and that Alice is a PoH too. It wouldn't make sense to change that now.), I'm actually open for other movies, I just don't know which. As far as more realistic styles go, I still would like to see a Final Fantasy world. Even more than a live action Disney movie.

The thing is, hype is always build on expectations. And those expectations can be as different as night and day. Same goes for what people deem worth getting excited over. Don't get me wrong, like Ven983 said I also expected more than 2 screenshots and an interview from several announcements like this. The fact remains however that I don't think it was ever mentioned what the news entailed and if there would be a trailer. Maybe our definition of being excited is different from theirs. They could have handled this better, yes. This time it would have been better to be a bit more precise instead of not clearing up the misunderstandings when they arose. It is not a secret that most fans were expecting more than two pictures out of an event like this.

I don't think there's any fanbase out there that does not consist of rabid lunatics one way or another... ^^'Anyway, despite the hype being generated all over the year and the disappointment still lingering, what I would like most right now is some clarity. At least for once. We all know they like to be extremely ambiguous with everything, but it would let the rage die down eventually. As much as I can understand the disappointment, the hate is becoming more and more tiring by the second. Personally, I enjoy the hype because it's fun seeing people get passionate and giddy over it, but all this negativity is not helping. Admittedly, they handled it poorly but what else is new? Then there's the fact that one source says that they received official word from Square Enix that the trailer release is TBD. Another makes it seem like there won't be any at all. If a week has passed after D23 and there still is neither a trailer nor any news regarding it, it would be best just to say not to expect anything anymore. The fans would rage and rant some more, but it would eventually be forgotten and people can move on.But for now, as quite a few have said it already, let them finish D23 and wait for a few more days.

Since the first one starts around 5am where I live and I have university starting at 8, I'd rather sleep, especially since we don't know if it will be streamed by someone on Twitch/Periscope/... and if it's even allowed. Waking up early when I have to attend lectures until 8pm, for something which is not confirmed to be livestreamed nonetheless, is not something I would do. I'll do it like Komali and read the news and/or watch the trailer when I wake up.

I've sent you a message ^-^ The source seems to be trustworthy from what I can tell and from what I researched. -
KHUX Unchained key keeps sending me to the play store

I downloaded the update from a website (don't know if I'm allowed to post it here) because I downloaded it elsewhere too and now it works again. It recognized that the game was on my device (android) and simply updated it. Since my character and everything is still there, I guess it worked. -
I do see your point, especially considering that long-time fans usually have played all those games before and may not need the collections, but I think the HD collections serve a purpose that, speaking for myself, goes beyond simple money making. The thing is that the PS2 is no longer made and while you can get another one at a decent price, it is a console that will sooner or later break. It would leave me no other way but to a) invest in another, probably used, console that may cease to function in a month or two to play Kingdom Hearts b) choose the newer console and buy the HD collections there, or c) stop playing it altogether. Personally speaking, the collections are a way for me to ensure that I can continue playing the series and preserve it without using an emulator should one or more consoles stop working. Then there's also the fact that Europe never got Re: Chain of Memories. I played the original game but, as tedious and annoying the gameplay was in my opinion, I wanted to play the newer version with the improved graphics, the voice overs and so on. I partly agree that the additional content of the Final Mix Versions could have been added earlier and some changes were unnecessary (up to this day I have never understood why the Heartless and the Unversed needed different colors for example.) On the other hand some improvements may not have been possible without releasing the original first. But I don't know that so I can't really argue on that. In the end I'm still glad I got to play them though because there were some very important cutscenes in KH2 that I wanted to experience myself without relying on Youtube so much. Generally I feel that there are several fractions. First there are the fans that complain that it's on too many consoles. They remade CoM for PS2 and remade Coded so people wouldn't need to play a mobile game in an age where smartphones weren't common. (And I think a lot of people asked for Coded since they could not play it on a phone.) Then there are the collections and another fraction complains how they already played those games and SE and Disney are simply milking the franchise for what it's worth. Then those who want KH3, like the collections, but don't want 2.8. Etc. I guess they will never please everyone, simple as that. And I cannot even say a lot against it because you have a valid point as much as the other people have. As I said, I can really understand your frustration when you spent this much money. But buying a console for one game was never really my thing so it was not that much of a waste of money anyway so I cannot relate to it completely. What I do not adhere to is your opinion about thegames other than KH1+2. While the games have obvious flaws, I think most of them were relevant and added quite a bit to the understanding of the plot. New questions arose of course, but I do not think the story is that convoluted, and there will always be questions that will be left unanswered and things which won't make any sense. But if the games are played again, most of it is understandable. At first it seemed like your arguments were against any game that wasn't KH 1 or 2 and even 2 seemed to be regarded quite negatively. But some of the negative aspects can definitely be regarded as such and, while I do not agree with a large portion of your post, I understand your point.

To be honest, I don't care about a release date at this point. While they have decided on some sort of date or release window already, it would only be a major disappointment if, because of certain circumstances, they have to postpone the game. It is quite obvious that a lot can happen, considering how many games of other franchises had to be delayed due to a variety of reasons. And Kingdom Hearts 3 is nowhere near completed. The last thing I want is to get hyped for a game and then they go "Sorry, but we cannot adhere to it." For now, I would be happy to see some new footage of any kind, if only to see they're making decent progress. Personally, I expect another world reveal, since, as we have seen, they can do it without showing an actual trailer. ^^' Additionally, they announced that there would be more worlds than in the other games, so that still leaves a lot of room for further information. But I do expect more to be shown because there will be a special event taking place and they announced beforehand that they will provide more info during the D23 in Japan. As far as I was concerned, their presence at the D23 in Anaheim came as a surprise.

While Big Hero 6 isn't my favorite movie and not in my top 5 worlds I'd like to see in Kingdom Hearts, I am quite content with the amount of information shown. Personally, I would have liked a world from an older Disney movie to be announced next, since both Tangled and Big Hero 6 are rather new, but there are still many more worlds to be revealed so my hope for an Atlantis or Treasure Planet world is not dead yet. For now I'm happy that it wasn't a Star Wars world and neither a Marvel world (in the sense of including movies with real people as actors). However, the amount of information given shows clearly that Kingdom Hearts is not nearly in the finishing stages. It is more like Nomura said that they're almost finished with the basic stuff. Whether they could not show anything more on the visual side or did not want to is debatable, but since we just received a rather long trailer during the E3, I am satisfied either way. I'd rather receive tiny bits of information from time to time than wait 8 months+ for anything new, as much as I enjoyed the lengthy trailer.
