  1. I actually have no idea how that works. I mean, it would be cool to implement them but a lot of anime, including FMA and Soul Eater, are based on a manga, where there's the same issue that the characters and part of the story doesn't belong to the studio but the mangaka. So they may have gotten permission to make an anime out of it, but not a game. Though I don't know why they would refuse since KH is a well-known title and it certainly is an honor. Ghibli, however, has Ni no Kuni they're working with and I guess they're just as protective of their properties. I can imagine Miyazaki being especially protective of his works. Would be amazing nonetheless. Not probable, but amazing.
  2. Tbh, I have no idea about law, especially not Japanese law but I'd be careful with the word owned. This all depends on the contracts they made because even if SE is publishing them, they're not the creator of those mangas. There are people behind that who weren't employed by SE to create that manga as far as I'm aware but those mangaka applied to have it published. Depending on the contract, they may have the right to publish it but not do anything else with it. Or the author sells the entire thing to them and they're free to do however the please. But if I was an author, I'd never do that. It's really hard to tell how much freedom they have with a certain property and which restrictions apply. Nomura once said that even though Marvel and Star Wars are owned by Disney, it is actually not that easy to just use them. Probably because they still need the permission from the people who own the idea. It's the same with Tarzan, which was removed in later games because Disney did not have all rights to do whatever they wanted with it.
  3. It would be nice if they could do it but unfortunately, it's like with licensing rights for manga and anime in general. They have the right to distribute it but not use it beyond that, especially not allowing it to be used by other companies. I don't think it would be a bad idea to grant access to it but I doubt Disney has an interest in promoting any other works beside its own property. They allow it for FF and TWEWY because SE develops the games, but taking in other companies would also mean paying them. Though I still think other franchises would also suit Kingdom Hearts. Not really Bleach or Naruto but there are definitely examples which would fit. Especially Ghibli would be beautiful.
  4. Was it even confirmed that the "final information" part was correctly translated or that it means what people think it does? Final could mean a lot. I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. SE has never been one to reveal release windows way ahead of time, especially when the game is nowhere near finished (which the interview in the beginning of the year has shown). Because delays happen and they happened frequently last year. FFXV had the release date revealed around 6 months prior to its actual release I believe as well as 2.8 and they still had to delay the games. Let's say KH3 is planned to come out late 2018, around December or November. That would mean the game will be in development for nearly another 1 1/2 years. If a game is such a long time away from release, that means a lot of things can happen and late 2018 can easily become early 2019 or more. Breath of the Wild made that mistake of a release window and had to delay it more than once. Generally, I only want them to announce anything to do with a date or window when they know that they can stick to it. Delays are unfortunate and can happen anytime but there's no need to promise something they don't even know they can keep.
  5. I was excited too that it actually becomes more than a concept and that they're addressing the problems associated with that, but some of the reactions were a bit over the top. Which is why it's hard to tell if that trailer really lives up to certain expectations and wasn't overhyped by the Famitsu journalist. I'm still hyped for the trailer itself and the world reveal but the last thing we need is a storm of enraged fans attacking Nomura because other people overhyped the trailer. Nomura only said that we will be even happier with the next trailer. Which is, quite frankly, not that hard to achieve because even though I liked it very much, it did not reveal anything too particularly new. Sure, we know Maleficent is searching for the box (which isn't surprising since she is also looking for the Book of Prophecies) and have seen some more gameplay elements, but it still feels like we've seen next to nothing of a game that's said to be massive.
  6. I think the Famitsu interview especially could cause people to be disappointed because it makes it seem like the new trailer is showing something of extreme relevance. While he did say fans will be even happier with the new trailer, it doesn't mean that it will have ground-breaking revelations. I'm not saying that it won't be great, but there are also people who hype things up beyond reason, for example acting like Sora & Co. searching for a way to bring Roxas back is the first time they brought it up in the most recent trailer. I've seen people get extremely hyped from that statement alone as if it wasn't blatantly hinted at in 3D. I am hyped for the trailer and the world reveal because it will show something new, but I won't set the bars unreasonably high because that will only make me disappointed if it doesn't live up to it.
  7. Apart from the world reveal, I'd actually like to see the redesigns/new clothes for some of the other characters like Lea, Kairi and Riku. I don't want them to apoil everything, but I doubt it would hurt to see those, especially when the game is said to me massive. Though in the end, I'd be fine with anything new. And seeing some actual gameplay of the BH6 world since it was revealed 2 years ago... Nothing against Olympus, but we've seen so much of it and I don't want to know the entire world before playing the game.
  8. I normally don't eat breakfast, unless I absolutely have to. My stomach can't handle food in the morning... I just drink a glass of water, but if I had to choose it would be pancakes all the way. I really like those.
  9. Sorry for my part, too. I guess I should word some things more carefully. It's just very difficult at times to figure out the right amount of detail to prevent it from being too vague and at the same time to reach a point where it doesn't appear to be set in stone. Expired tacos should be a crime though.
  10. It's actually not a misconception since time travel Xemnas still is Xemnas, which implies a return. I never said revival, just return. It still is Terra's body, even if it is not the present body. It's irrelevant fom which time he comes. Another on your list is not a vague statement at all since Ven was shown to be still sleeping in the chamber or waking and Aqua is still in the Realm of Darkness. Since Mickey recounted all the members and Xehanort used present tense, there's not much vagueness involved. Of course I can still be wrong but if I were Nomura, I wouldn't see the need to 100% voice every little thing. Not to mention that the other don't know VATand even Mickey only uses "my three missing friends" instead of their names. To be honest, Xehanort could also use that phrasing to make them question who it is. Ven's heart being possessed may be a possibility but with everything that happened, you make it seem like Terra is completely out of the question when they made it such a huge deal in A Fragmentary Passage that he is still fighting. I'm not saying I have to be right or that you are wrong on this but theories always contain information set to be finite in order for the theory to work. We all know there is nothing set when it comes to the future. We don't even know it's the real Isa we saw and not a time travel one. And yes he had to KO Sora, but it still does not speak against the redemption of Isa or that he did not choose to become vessel. It just shows that it is possible to force someone to become a vessel. I'm not trying to start an argument, but things don't always have to be spelled out to be finite. I'm not saying that I'm absolutely right and that Nomura doesn't have surprises up his sleeve, but your arguments are the same as mine: based on assumptions. And since this is a topic relating to the future neither of us know, I see nothing wrong with speculating. In this case, I just agree to disagree. I don't see any misconceptions in my post since I never said some of the things you think of as misconceptions.
  11. We don't know if his resistance got stronger but just that he is still fighting, which he never ceased to do if the secret ending of BBS is anythinf to go by. That scene plays during KH1 and Terra is nowhere near a point where he could be saved. At least not until KH3. Additionally, just because Xehanort came back in his own body doesn't mean he doesn't have control of Terra anymore. He flat out said that Terra is under his control. Not to mention that Xemnas is Terra's body. Since Xemnas returns, he does still have control over a part of Terra in that regard. There has to be force involved when it comes to vessels, otherwise Sora would have been a poor choice since he would never agree to being used as a vessel. So who's to say Isa's resistance won't grow as well?
  12. I disagree. Neither Terra nor Riku made the choice to become possessed and a vessel and although both fought back, the actions committed in their body weren't their own. Even now, Terra's body is used and you don't see anymore struggling in everything between KH1 and 3D on his part. Who's to say the same thing did not happen to Isa? We haven't seen a lot of him so there is no way to tell how much he thought back and initially, his wish to regain his heart may have been stronger than the will to fight Xehanort. If he promised Isa to get his heart back and he agreed, it may have been to late to fight back by the time he realized it. I think assuming anything that the vessels do to be of their own volition might be a stretch since we have seen how much control Xehanort has over Terra. Not everyone retains full control of their personality and actions. In fact, it seems like Isa lost his control over his body completely at the end of 3D. I don't interpret his actions as having made his choice but rather as him having nothing left of his own being. His face did not show determination or anything, it showed nothing. He was completely apathetic, had no sarcastic comment to add, nothing. He has never been this expressionless in Days. Annoyed, angry, sarcastic, yes, but never this blank. Anothed thing to add is that the conversation between Braig and Young Xehanort made it rather obvious that Isa was chosen as a vessel. He was unconscious together with the rest and I believe he was simply taken to become a vessel. No choice included. Then there's also the matter that we know nothing. Judging by his eyes and ears, Isa already was partly Xehanort by the time he was introduced for the first time. As I said, becoming a vessel is not always a matter of choice. Terra was forced as well as what they attempted to do to Sora. And if they can bring back people like Naminé, Roxas and Xion who shouldn't even exist anymore, there is no real reason why this should not be possible for other characters either just because they're not as popular. This is Kingdom Hearts after all. I doubt there is a too far into darkness there, considering Kairi brought Sora back from being a Heartless...
  13. I don't think Isa made that choice willingly. Despite his behavior, I always got the impression that he was the one who wanted his heart back the most out of all of them. Which made him an ideal target to become a vessel. I'm not justifying his treatment toward Roxas and Xion in particular, but people do terrible things when they're desperate and to him, it probably seemed like Lea was easily replacing him. We don't know much of their backstory, though so that's merely my opinion. But with what happened to Sora and Terra (and even Riku), becoming a vessel is not always a matter of choice. And who knows how many of his actions are actually based on voluntary decisions. That's why I'd like him to be redeemed and live. I feel like they will just kill him off to avoid awkward moments when Lea reunites with Roxas and Xion due to his previous treatment, or just to create an emotional scene, not because it is absolutely necessary plot-wise since Isa wasn't evil before. I don't see why Riku should get his redemption and other characters shouldn't, that's all. Let's not forget that he also made that decision on his own back in KH1 and he was still forgiven. I don't want Isa to be disposed of just out of convenience to avoid him from being friends with Lea again. Especially for reasons such as fan-favorites like Roxas and Xion not fitting into that beloved trio picture anymore.
  14. I don't think it will. An episodic release works for FFVIIR because the game is a remake and not an entirely new title. Fans can be patient with that because the story is known and while there may be changes/additions, it is, essentially, still the same story. Then there's the fact that it was revealed right away that it would be episodic in nature, which was to be expected since someone from SE once said a remake would take at least 10 years to develop. Revealing an episodic KH3 now is not the smartest idea after such a long development time already and fans would probably not appreciate it. Mainly because people want to experience the story as a whole and not divided into parts which may be released years apart. It worked for Life is Strange because the game is still relatively short and each episode was released within months of the last. KH3 is a lot bigger than that and it could mean that the first episode may be completely different in terms of quality than the last. To be honest, I want to play the whole game without having to play that part again and again to remind myself what I was doing before the next part comes out... I don't think final information implies that. At least I hope it doesn't.
  15. Yeah, you're right. You could see the scenes where the screenshots were taken from back when they released them with 0.2's intro. So quite a bit is probably a few months old. I don't mind if they don't spoil too much, but they have to show something new to make it appealing, especially to people who are not die-hard fans. Promotion is also an essential part, unless they want to release it 2019/20, which isn't impossible. I'm not expecting a 30 minute synopsis trailer of KH3's story with all worlds included in a neat list with a corresponding trailer to show for each, just something more substantial to make it more interesting. To make people want to know what the hell is going on. Of course it shouldn't spoil too much, but BH6 was announced so long ago and they still haven't shown us anything from that. Then there's the interview where Nomura said that some worlds are not even in anpresentable state yet... That all doesn't really make me believe we're near a point where anything could be considered final.
  16. I somehow also feel like there was some kind of misunderstanding or mistranslation? Not to be too optimistic, but usually, final information is provided close to a release date. 2.8 had its last trailer one month before its release and quite frankly, KH3 seems to be very far away from that. 2017 doesn't seem to be an option, which is good because we haven't really seen much of the game and quite a few things still need some work. I don't know either what that should be interpreted as, but I doubt the word final refers to last in this case. Might be final before they go into full promotion, set a release date/year, go on a merry break to let us wait, etc.
  17. I don't see why drama would make a game more epic... Games can be amazing without a lot of people dying and without being edgy, dark and gloomy. Those features don't automatically make a story more profound or intriguing. If you like those, okay, but I feel like quite a few are under the impression that good stories can't have happy endings for a majority of characters
  18. I don't think it is that bad. Yes, the models still need quite a bit of work and I still think the eyes are a bit too small, along with the fact that the skin looks a lot smoother on the Disney characters, but I expected worse for the first appearance of another character. Yes, his face is a little too broad in that perspective and the eyes really could be a bit larger, but in comparison to what we've first seen of Terra, this is actually not terrible and shows they're improving little by little. Personally, I'm a bit more inclined to believe it will turn out alright in the end because look what a few months have done (and partly overdone) to 0.2. It wasn't perfect but improvement is definitely there. In terms of first appearances, I'd cut those characters some slack because who knows when those models were done. I agree that the models still look off, Sora included, but it's also noteworthy that they've made some progression, if only little by little. Some of it will also just take time getting used to because no matter what, we stuck with nearly the same graphics for over 14 years. While most of us wouldn't have minded them for KH3, it's probably a step which needs to be done to make it appealing for new people, too. I totally agree with you that they need work, especially on details and faces, but it is not absolutely terrible anymore. Not in the state in which I would like to see it in the end, but that end is still months if not years away and finishing touches are still to be made.
  19. I'm not trying to expect too much so I won't be disappointed when there's nothing, but I sure would like a trailer or a world announcement. I absolutely love concept art, but I don't think E3 is the best place for that. Though it's hard to determine what falls under concept art... I don't really want a release date... I feel like that can potentially lead to a disaster if they have to delay it and the fanbase gets riled up. Either that or they'll release it anyway with major flaws. I think, at best, a release year would be suitable, but only if they know they can manage that. People were extremely disappointed when Zelda Breath of the Wild was delayed again and some fans already seem fairly agitated with KH3. It's generally better when companies reveal a release date when they're actually at a point where such promises can be kept because it's close to being finished. Not to appease fans who are demanding a release date and then complain when it's delayed. We all want KH3 but knowing when it will release won't get it to us sooner and delays happen anyway. It would be nice if Nomura was there but at the same time, I don't know why he would be present. They can record a video for a message and other than that, he won't answer any relevant questions anyway even if he was to present it in person. It would only add up to "please be patient" and "I can't talk about that yet", or something along the lines of "please look forward to upcoming announcements". The only reason I could see for an appearance would be the closeness to the concerts.
  20. Definitely Sony. Not only because of the obvious reasons but also because I own a PS4 and want to see what happens in that department. I usually enjoy Nintendo's stuff but this year's focus will likely be the Switch, which I don't plan on buying anytime soon. I'm still looking forward to it but seeing all the games which I won't be able to get is also a bit sad.
  21. True that, though in the case of FFXV, the director change certainly changed the development time quite a bit. It's not like they hae to start fom scratch, but a lot of content was changed, the Luminous engine isn't exactly the easiest to work with and all in all, the game was not in development for that long if all that is taken into consideration. No wonder it felt rushed. As for KH3, the game probably started its active development 2012. Sure, Nomura certainly did some planning beforehand, but they seemed more focused on 3D until 2012. Then the engine switch in 2014, which certainly did not aid the developmemt at first since a lot had to be done again and there were some problems, or still are, obviously. So all in all, the game has been in actual development for maybe 3 1/2 years. At best. This is not a lot of time so if the game really would have been released this year, it would have been rushed. Let's not forget that a lot of big titles use technology they are familiar with and quite frankly, a lot of games are quite a bit of copy and paste. Which isn't a bad thing in terms of development time. But it's a luxury KH3 didn't have. But alas, it wasn't released this year and very likely won't be or they wouldn't make such a mystery of its appearance at E3. But 2018 would be around 4 years. Anything beyond 2019 would make wonder what they've been doing all this time and would make me question if the management is completely off. Be it perfectionism, unqualified staff or not enough employees. But I honestly doubt it will be rushed. It's a bit of a topic that tears people apart. I don't want it to be rushed but at some point, people cannot be patient anymore, especially for a series that will have a continuation afterward. It won't get easier to win over new fans, but while the models looked better in 0.2, they still varied a lot in quality. Sometimes they didn't do enough, then they did too much (which is sometimes even worse) and sometimes it felt pretty good. If they can prevent it, they will, but some parts will seem rushed regardless because there's just too much they have to explain for everything to be answered.
  22. I also would not rule out the possibility. There's this trailer line-up mentioned in the schedule and there's also the Sony conference. Let's not forget that most of these panels are around 15-45 minutes long. While KH3 is likely more developed than it was 2 years ago, I doubt they will have a panel exclusively about it at this point. At least none that exceeds the length of a few minutes. Additionally, most of the games featured here are games which have either been released or will release soon. Basically, games which are at a more presentable state and need more marketing or could use to have more background info since their release. I'm not saying there will absolutely be something regarding KH3 at E3, but panels are what they are. Mostly talking while showing off the games. And KH3 is not anywhere near having such a panel when the interviews have always been so cryptic up until now. You have to be able to fill at least 15 minutes in such a panel, which I cannot see when that amounts to everything that we have seen since 2013. But it can still have a regular trailer, just like FFVIIR could have one.
  23. I agree with you that it is definitely that should be considered since they could have easily postponed it, but at the same time I can't help but think that those kind of announcements cannot be taken as face value anymore. Things seem to change so quickly as seen with the winter announcements which did not happen in the end. Unless they meant that one screenshot we got, which would be ridiculous to announce at the end of a trailer. I'm just not sure what to trust in terms of news concerning the future. I do have faith in the interviews regarding the game itself, but their schedules don't seem as precise. Still, you are right that marketing will start sooner or later and we will probably reach a point where we will get "non-stop" KH3 news. I just don't know when that will be because once we reach that point, the game likely won't be released toward the end of the within 3 years or so announcement but rather in the next 1- 1 1/2 years. Because it wouldn't make sense to hype people up with that much information and then go MIA for a year or two again. That being said, I still believe we will receive at least something. Maybe not an entirely new trailer, but something.
  24. Considering I mentioned the RB/GY arc, I thought it was pretty clear I was talking about Pokemon Special, since no other manga I know of is divided into several arcs from several different games. As far as I know, most other manga are either spin-offs or focus on one particular game. No offense, but I don't really care what annoys some fans because it doesn't mean any harm... I'm not insulting anyone by calling it "the manga" and then proceeding to mention a specific arc to clarify. It just takes a google search to see there are more but once you google the arc, it's mostly clear which manga I was talking about. ^^' And you obviously knew what I was referring to and those who don't won't care either way or will just ask.
