I've thought about this a little bit as well, and I'm fine with leaving things as-is, as Yltriss is weakened by withdrawal symptoms and hunger. However, if at all possible, Sabre, please offer chances for response in the future. It makes a tad more sense to have more interaction between characters, especially if grappling over the course of a minute is concerned. I'll put a post up later today for Yltriss and Ruffie and our new necropal. For now, duty calls.- 1,070 replies

I have been thinking about that a lot as well, as in "How far can the thin boundary between life and death be drawn?" There's bodily decomposition to think about (after three days, tissues begin to decay, and a year is a long time), the mind-body-soul ties, the memories that may or may not be tied, and all sorts of other aspects. Through genetic, more specifically, DNA sampling, cloning may be a possibility which will bequeath an astute mind, a perfectly representative body, and potentially memories as well. Perhaps all a necromancer needs is a clone and the ability to snag the original's soul from their eternal rest. This would have any number of potential problems, however, which Kaspar will know. All-in-all, this is heavily enticing. Good ideas, everyone. This is a trilogy waiting to happen, cowritten by us all in the near future!- 1,070 replies

I'm in love with this post in multiple ways, most namely the storyline idea. If you've any ideas in the present or near future, I am all ears! Gabetriss may be star-crossed, but they will prevail! Heck, they're only a cellblock away from being united. As for Gabriel being Eclaire's stepdad, oh golly, this would be all too rich. =P "Meet Gabriel, my new husband," says Yltriss. "Eclaire! I've seen so much about you it's almost as if I know you!" says the AI. "Er, don't you mean 'heard,' and weren't you married for only a day?" says Eclaire. "Nope and yep, but I saw all sorts of security footage and--" says the AI before both Yltriss and Eclaire slap Gabriel.- 1,070 replies

Indeed so! I am very much looking forward to seeing what will go on between these two, and what abominable acts they can accomplish. BWAHAHA! Sabre and I specialise in touching mother-daughter moments, it seems. We stay within the lines of normality while still branching off into uncharted bonding territory. =B- 1,070 replies

Rats . . . that's a pity, but like MA I wish to have you know that you are quite welcome back once you regain access to your computer like before. To help fill the void, here's a new necromancer character, because necromancy is fun and vastly underrated in terms of use. ___________ Name: Kaspar Ulrich. Gender: Male. Age: 60, but with Illusion magic he looks like 25. Side: Seraphim Order Race: Human Appearance: A scraggly older man who has suffered for forty years of the curse of near-death, Kaspar looks like death itself with his sunken green eyes, shadows etched deeply into his sagging skin, and no lower jaw. He smells of a graverobber, the stench of bonemeal and decay following him if one gets too close. A cleverly made perfume prevents this smell from offending the nostrils of others, giving a mixed scent when far away, but nothing can mask the scent of death when near him. He is robed in brown and wears a blue diamond ring of rich beauty and rich power on his bony fingers, augmenting his necromancy skills by channeling magical energy into it over time. Illusion magic disguises his figure into that of a 25-year-old with black hair, chiseled features, and a wry smile, but should his concentration be disrupted the spell can be removed and his hideousness seen by all. Weapon: A ritual dagger. Race abilities: N/A Magic: Dark Clerical (to heal the undead or himself, or harm living tissue), Necromancy, Illusion. Personality: Twisted in mind and unchangably maimed in body, it is a wonder why his soul has not parted from him even with his considerable skill in necromancy. Darkness laps at his sanity like a dog, but he is in quiescent control of his actions at all times, his mind unbreakable and indomitable unless otherworldly powers are concerned. He has bold aspirations to perpetuate the work of death and near-death upon others, building upon the time-founded destruction of his art and attempting to create a world in his image, but he had few pupils, and none in existence any longer. He means to use the Seraphim Order to find a new pupil, one who can work alongside him or otherwise continue his work. Backstory: Once a young man who turned to darkness to save his mother and father from a bandit raid, the evils of communing with the dead and dark spirits has left him broken, changed, and no longer changeable. He is shackled to the curse of near-death, a state of being undead that brings him great knowledge at the cost of his bodily strength, and no longer does he seek to resurrect his mother and father. Death has given him a greater purpose than selfish whims, and he means to enact them with great caution, wisdom, learning, and patience.- 1,070 replies

- Yltriss Hyulli - New Empire - Prisoner on Oathkeeper - Yltriss raised her head marginally and glanced back toward the bars, catching the gaze of the succubus leader of the new renegades. Eclaire Tonnerre, a flash of a soldier and a fearsome woman to meet, given her fierce visage towards her opponents. The elf slowly raised the rest of her body as well, stalking closer to the bars. "Why indeed. Why bother yourself with one such as myself if not for questioning?" She flashed an oily grin as she picked up the portion of bread, scooping out some of its soft interior and hastily swallowing it with relish. "Though your ideas are just in your own eyes, your group -- Salvation, Savior, oh-h-h, right, Messiah -- is nothing more than a ragtag of lowlifes, thieves, and killers believing themselves to be expected deliverers to your world. What better enforcement of this belief but to imprison? But who am I to say? Ask your questions."

- Rufus Contralto - Neutral - Outside Krile - Rufus was flabbergasted at the sight of the Tenno's teleportation, something which seemed like a dimensional tear than anything magical or using substitution, much like his own skill. Harst, his first mate, fell backwards on his fleshy rump at Rufus' right, and Lelita adjusted her spectacles on her thin nose, fascinated as well. "Interesting," she uttered lowly, "this skill is much like the Captain's, but less limiting, and that cryogenic pod is beyond odd in make. I must take a sample of its structure for study." "And what of your head? Are you so sure that it will remain in place before you can get near it?" Rufus quipped, shaking his head. "Lelita, this is no place for you like I thought. Slip back to the sloop. Harst as well." Lelita blinked before balling her fists. "But, Cap'n--" "Enough, please, Lelita. The crew is my top priority, especially--" A woman riding a doglike mount caught his and perhaps everybody's attention, generating golems from the ground and stone in the area and riding towards them. That was the last straw for the pirate captain. "Time to leave. Lelita, Harst?" Rufus made a quick reach with his left hand toward his two associates, the etched tattoos on their forearms making a quick reaction to his generated back-summoning spell and teleporting them both to the safety of the airship, where a sigil was prepared for this kind of situation. Lelita would be furious with him, but a peace offering of the cryo pod should relax her from beating the snot out of him just a little. "So," he heaved, less a sigh and more of a show of exertion as he reached for his weapon, "Deuce, I take it? Have any way of taming your sister before a stone head is hacked off?" - Yltriss - New Empire - Messiah's prisoner - Yltriss grimaced up at the ceiling from her ragged cot, Tanzynite withdrawals leaving her sapped of the energy she usually had in abundance. Being prisoner had left her already thin body emaciated and her mind occupied with thoughts of escape and foolish flights of fancy, be they romantic or the simple desire for a filet mignon to magically appear with all of the dressings. Gosh, was she hungry. Her eyes flickered over to the camera watching her cell, wondering if someone was watching. It was an eerie notion she had that sometimes she was being watched by someone different than the norm, but it was just that, a notion. She had no way of telling for sure unless someone different from the norm paid a visit, though this did not happen for a while. What was it? A month? Three months? Five? She hated the inability to tell the time besides the clicks and whirrs of machinery and the drum of her own knuckles . . . and the growl of her stomach. Her stomach growled a little less than a minute sequentially for quite a while now. Gosh, was she hungry. Images of Feldspar, her governed city and her home for too long, slunk into her memory. It was not a paradise, of that she knew too well, but being there in the flesh would have been beyond Elysian. She would have had free roam within her pantry and refrigerator. Gosh, she was hungry.

That made me chuckle, Scrap. =P Thank you. Hmm, that's a good question, as I cannot think of her having any good start-up role, but then again a lot of us don't, so she could have a lot of chances to insert herself into a sweet position. Maybe she is in isolation, purifying herself of tanzynite fatigue slowly but surely or something of the sort. She seems to be undergoing immense strain on her body from that ingrained dark tanzynite, so the lack of using it would only solve part of the problem, but it's one step closer to the path of redemption and another step closer to cleansing. Love the changes, by the bye. It seems there's a healing-centric character amongst us!- 1,070 replies

Tainted Universes: A Video Game Crossover RP(Sign-ups/Discussion)
Vaude replied to Pangoro "Sen"'s topic in Roleplaying
Okay, this calls for a delightful pair! Character's Name: Guybrush Threepwood Game/Series of Origin: Monkey Island series Description of Looks/Image: Primary Weapon: Cutlass. Secondary Weapon: N/A Alternate Forms: N/A Special Powers/Magic: Occasional wit. Typical Role in Combat: Using intuition and a sharp tongue to curb foes. Typical Role Outside of Combat: Finding out how to be a pirate, puzzle solving, and pointing out a (sometimes) nonexistent three-headed monkey. Personality: Weak in almost every virtue out there, Guybrush is lacklustre in almost every way, shape, and form, but his rapier wit, resourcefulness, clever skills in advancing where others would give up, and sheer tenacity make up for his poor qualities. He is cowardly, an amateur with a sword, and an unlikely candidate for anything villainy-related, but that is what makes him successful: people's expectations of him are so low that he excels them incredibly. Backstory: Thrust into a Caribbean environment desirous of becoming a pirate, Guybrush is put through trial after trial in pursuit of his dream, resulting in a confrontation with and victory over one of the most black-hearted pirates of his day. Strengths: Exceeding expectations, intelligence, and perseverance. Weaknesses: Practically anything else, but swordplay and romance come as top picks. ------- Character's Name: Gau Game/Series of Origin: Final Fantasy VI (6) Description of Looks/Image: Primary Weapon: Fists/Claws/Fangs. Secondary Weapon: Companion Animals' Claws/Fangs. Alternate Forms: N/A Special Powers/Magic: Rage (taking upon the characteristics of an animal Gau had previously spent time with on the Veldt, a grassland in Final Fantasy VI). Typical Role in Combat: Fighting on the front lines, engaging in hand-to-hand combat. Typical Role Outside of Combat: Being a very curious, childish boy, exploring, eating meat, eating pets, eating in general. Personality: Gau is a feral child raised by animals on the plains called the Veldt from nearly birth. He had learned speech through mimicry of caravans passing by and the Final Fantasy 6 cast, and is altogether very curious of everything outside the grasslands. Technology is not his strongest suit, as a result, and commonplace things become a matter of intrigue, but he has a sweet personality and a loyalty beyond that of any dog to those who give him jerky. Backstory: As indicated before in Personality, Gau is a feral child raised from birth by animals. Somehow he managed to spend enough time with each animal on the Veldt to gain their respect, and he in full effect became the guardian of the land as a result. After finding Cyan and Sabin on the plains, he palled along and became friends with a number of freedom fighters who combated against nefarious rulers. Strengths: Raw strength, mobility, agility, and beast-like tactics of patience and effective strikes. Weaknesses: Almost unintelligent to anything technology-related, has childlike innocence, and extremely linear assaults. Obsidian Entertainment- 29 replies

I--wh--y--okay, this is too true. =P Sorry, boys and girls; nothing can match the power of mechromancer-generated romance, but a little word of advice for Gabriel: if he even looks at another girl in interest Yltriss will bite his face off, visor or no. Also, no kitchen duty for Gabriel, as he may make something like this with his knowledge of science:- 1,070 replies

Back-summoning is reverse summoning, essentially taking you to a location by ripping you from your original location. It is a faraway teleportation of sorts like, say, Nathan's from Heroes Reborn, or jumping from the movie Jumper, however its chance of success is proportional to the time invested in the spell and inversely proportional to the mass transported. There's a number of rules I'm applying behind the scenes like first being in that location and marking the location with some sort of sigil, but they're there. Yeah . . . I need a more active hobby than thinking of these things.- 1,070 replies

Oh, right! Sorry about that. I have read the rules, but forgot after tweaking these long bios. PURPLE, KING OF COLOURS! Regarding Rufus, he has merely fire and ice at his disposal, but is still a rather weak user when it comes to magic. Instead, he puts special emphasis nowadays on summoning and back-summoning, a skill passed down from his now deceased sister. Regarding Yltriss, because she is a prisoner, I intended her to be deprived of whatever dangerous tanzynite she has and her weapon, though now that I think about it the tonic chemicals may still be in her system, and you probably meant the intended weapons in her future disposal. I will correct this shortly.- 1,070 replies

Vaude replied to Mystics Apprentice's topic in Roleplaying
Spiffy! Everything looks quite nice, MA. Here come Rufus and Yltriss yet again. Name: "Captain" Rufus Contralto. Age: 37 (previously 36). Gender: Male. Race: Human. Side: Neutral, No Side. Appearance: With a black wild mane trimmed only enough to cover his head with a tricorne hat, chiseled aquiline features, and sharp green eyes, Rufus can only be considered similar to a scrawny excuse of a pirate of old, and whoever does this consideration is correct for the most part. His noble house's fortune was long spent except for a small purse of funds which keeps shrinking, and his clothing is starting to represent his impoverished self. He still wears the Serpent Baron's signet proudly on his red tattered doublet, baronet and commoner though he may be, and his matching trousers show many patches of lemon-hued cloth. Bio/History: Born as a commoner who worked his way into the favour of the Serpent Baron of Godolvia, Rufus was a baronet (a non-noble patron of the noble house). He remained such until the Korbenic Empire claimed its control over tanzynite masterfully enough to remove the principalities of Godolvia. The only reason he remains with coin in his pockets and not working in factories is that he was blessed with a boon found through gambling with a sorcerer: magic itself. Elemental and summoning magic were woven intricately into a sigil wheel on his left hand, which he commands feebly but with a practiced hand. The subject of ridicule, laughs, and mountains of shame, he dedicated his life to the arts he loves and survival, and now he has developed a taste for something else: piracy. Over the past year of getting involved with the Empire, the Rebellion, and even the criminal underworld, he has set off on an adventure few live long enough of which to tell the tale. His crew is a sorry lot of miscreants, but for some reason or another they have loyalty enough to not mutiny. Enshrined in the captain's cabin of his magnificently patched-up airship is a play of his own, still unfinished, entitled "Aye, from Rags to Ragamuffins, Arr." He's still working on that title. Personality: Rufus is a megalomaniac turned pirate with a deep-rooted love of the thespian arts, often depicted in his eccentric behavior. He boasts a considerable wealth of knowledge in lore and can be considered a poet as well as a scholar, but his hatred for the Empire for destroying the Serpent Baron burns brighter than the flush on his cheeks when talking about the play Loveless (kudos if you get the reference) or any bit of intelligent literature.Weapon(s): Kindjal (curved, double-bladed short sword from Dune with a neat backstory behind it). Power Status: Mage. Magic: Elemental, Summoner, Back-Summoner. Race Abilities: N/A. Name: Yltriss Hyulli (il-triss hyoo-lee). Age: 195 (previously 194). Gender: Female. Race: Elf. Side: New Empire. Appearance: Silver-haired and once with a beautiful face, this elfin woman has fooled many with her appearance of an eighteen-year-old and almost two-hundred years of experience, but deep furrows are carved into her that cannot be healed. Scars cross each other visibly on her neck from two attempts of her life, and one can be traced along her cheek. More used to lie hidden behind a once-flowing machine-knit robe, but now her robe was replaced by prisoner's garb, revealing a horrifically knitted series of circular scars and slash marks. Her pointy ears were snipped long ago to be similar to a human's. Her long hair was cut short. Penetrating and hard green eyes and long-formed tear troughs reveal her age, yet with the right touch of make-up she can convince even the most trained eye. Bio/History: Born to nomadic elves, Yltriss spent much of her youth learning the ways of foraging, picking the right fights, selling exotic tapestries woven from grass, and using every material in her disposal for some purpose. She knew love and birthed a daughter, but to her terror it was a cambion, a demonic abomination of a stillborn. Learning of this, her husband slew the child, exiled her from the nomadic clan with only the clothes on her back and countless bruises from pelting her with stones. She took shelter in a ramshackle town of fifty and learned to coexist with humans, furthering herself from elfhood. Nightmares still haunt her of her past, augmented by age, and she took medication to quell her anxious nerves, her latest and most addictive trial being tanzynite. Not much else is known of her, but history shows that she took offices and progressed further and further up the political ladder, becoming not only an ally of the Empire but also a powerful influence. She maintained close contact with Emperor Korben before his demise and offered much to further her secretive goals and aspirations, but currently lies as a prisoner, forgotten by her previous subjects in the city of Feldspar. Personality: Passive in her speech and aggressive in her calculations, Yltriss is not what one would first expect, but she is as sly and as shrewd as a crooked politician. She has ambition aplenty, but in the very apex of her power and plans she was cast down before they were put into action, resulting in a desperation to get back in power again. She does not discuss much of her past and hates her elven lineage, wishing to be human in both guise and reality, and harbours some secret liking towards Gabriel for some reason or another, though whether it is love or not she does not know or really wish to know. Weapon: Stiletto. Power Status: Tanzynite User Instigator Chemicals: Rocky Road. Tonics: Animal Instinct, Scamper Speed. PURPLE, KING OF COLOURS!- 1,070 replies

I just love how Gabriel and his AI are reacting to Yltriss. =P Keep it up and the poor ol' gal would react in turn, I'm certain, blushing and ushering in a new age of romantic chatter. Regarding Warframe . . . hmm, I should check that game out sometime. I do not have the computer for it at present, but it is enticing to see that there is a really cool plot beyond what I thought was strictly a multiplayer experience. -

This will be a short-lived character, an NPC of sorts, but here's a character sheet all the same. I can edit it should the character not be accepted, or swap to a more fitting candidate. Name: Zeg "the Butcher" Vaas. Age: 16. Gender: Male. Race: Human. Side: Lone Wolf / Merc-to-Hire. Appearance: Hideously thin, misproportioned, malnourished, and covered with green veins from Pack-A-Punch overuse, Zeg is not what one would consider healthy but rather a death's head with a hideously sculpted body. His dolman and trousers had to be fashioned by a master designer and tailor, his tricorne hat shrouds his head with woven magic, and thick boots cover his legs and feet. His face and hands are the only parts of his person visible, excepting when he rips off his dolman for easier mobility. Weapon: Kukris. Power Status: Tanzanite User. Magic: N/A Instigator Chemicals (If a Tanzynite User, can become one if Human and if not already one, Limit of 3.): Telekinesis, Pack-A-Punch. Tonic Chemicals(Same as above. Limit of 3.): Scamper Speed. Experimental Compound(If a permitted user, limit of 1. Can have 1 other Instigator and 2 Tonics.): N/A Race Power(If Non-Human): N/A Bio/History: Not much is known about Zeg's past, not even by Rufus, who once had paired with the kid years ago when he fled the Imperial law. He was eleven at the time, a scamp who killed for what few coins lay in the dead's purses, but he became vastly more intelligent with his methods and grew his treasure hoard underscrupulously with every outing. A handful know of his massacre involving those who found one of his many caches, but his name is rarely whispered in fear by the living. Personality: Bloody, merciless, and avaricious, Zeg desires two things: enjoyment through murder and enjoyment through coins and gems flowing through his hands. Once he had a tender side, but years of killing leaves few words for those who are able to confront him, those being "What's in it for me?" and "Die." -
-Rufus Contralto- ~still earlier~ The bushy-haired man knitted his brows and nodded in agreement, knowing Zanza's situation only too well. Korben's executions was how he lost Eren -- for petty crimes and his status as a magician -- and the main reason why he took such an affront towards the imperials and the rebels alike. The Rebellion was organised and large enough to save more than a few people, especially when one of their key orchestrators was alongside Eren, in line for a horrible, grisly death. "A cause of our own . . . a rally. A strong and sound argument this is, but precious little time lies available before the airship docks. I've a solution with this in mind, though chances be there that thou would not like it: we recruit Zeg the Butcher, an . . . acquaintance of mine. He resides here for the now." Zeg the Butcher was a decorated villain at heart and, for those that confronted him, hardly a scoundrel to be trusted. His Tanzanite-infused blood boiled with a passion for murder, but burning within his eyes lay a love greater than that of the thrill of death: avarice. He loved the clink of two coins against each other, and hoarded the money he stole and looted in various caches. The truth of this was never known publicly, but one time a cache was stumbled upon by the resident of the land it was on, who selflessly distributed the wealth to his neighbors and family. Zeg, true to his name, butchered them all to reclaim the lost coins, and people near and far clamoured that the trove was cursed by that of an age-old evil.
