  1. I disagree. I would love a unified achievement system, less DRM and the guarantee that I won't need to buy new hardware to play a game. I also would love more local multiplayer as well which PC versions usually lack without having to build a second PC and buy a second copy of the game. I'd also like to be able to play party games, which let's face it, PCs just can't do well for obvious reasons. I've been studying the game industry for many years now, and honestly as I said before: there is no one platform that is superior in every regard, and there is no platform without drawbacks.
  2. No offense, but this is a surprise? Newer consoles of course are going to get the bulk of the development time, while older consoles will get quickly scrapped together ports to cater to the crowd who hasn't upgraded yet. We're entering more or less the cut off point for the last gen consoles soon (Sony announced the PS3 will be serviced until 2016, and I doubt it'll be long into it too, my guess would be around April) and hardware makers are now contracting devs to inspire people to buy newer consoles. Remember, devs work with the hardware companies because they both have a common interest. Well actually, the remaster looked like just that... They ported a PS2 game to PS3, added anti-aliasing, and upscaled it. It was by no means a very graphically appealing game, and definitely was stretching the definition of the words "high definition" but would not be the first time such a thing was done. Was the game still good though? Absolutely! Actually, being a Wii U owner, I can honestly say the Wii U's graphics are inferior to the PS4, however their library is definitely on the better side over Microsoft and debatably Sony if you're only talking exclusives. Sony's ports of next-gen games seems to be better than their competitors so far though. As far as PC gaming goes, I myself am a huge PC guy, and even I can admit... PC gaming has entered a very "eh" age. Our PC ports are becoming sloppy, and devs are definitely giving consoles the better treatment these days. We are receiving games that need massive amounts of user based patches to be playable, on top of this the lack of unified services is kind of an issue. You need UPlay, Origin, Steam, and a million other clients to play games now, whereas consoles you either have Xbox Live or PSN. Our achievements are scattered across multiple platforms, and devs are paying less and less mind to requirements when making games, because we've been seeing a lot of games with fairly high requirements for the time they are coming out. Being someone who has been a PC gamer for a loooooong time, I can honestly say that the whole "PC is master race" thing is ignoring the numerous problems with the platform. Yes, graphically and mod wise we usually get the best versions for that, but in terms of a lot of other things, we usually get the shaft. Not to mention a lot of the ports of bigger games are taking forever these days to come out too. We had to wait what... A year and a half almost just for GTA5? And of course our DRM is becoming a freaking nightmare. In short: PC may be a great platform, one I'll always love, but there are still just as many problems as consoles. There really is no "perfect" platform. Love gaming on all platforms, is really the only way to always ensure you'll get the best experience every time.
  3. The likeness is pretty close. Any clue who this model is?
  4. Well if they put her in the game, I sure as hell would use her. Also, it's possible that she is a DLC?
  5. I spent it with my girlfriend, so I suppose it's off to a good start. Also my bills were paid on time and I no longer have to work for Walmart.
  6. Distribution has become kind of a nightmare for PC gamers these days. Every dev now wants their own distribution client, which is really disjointing the market, and pissing a lot of players off. It's irritating that I need 10 different clients to play with my friends, when consoles I only need one.
  7. I agree there, but it is kind of annoying having to rely on unofficial patches (with no promise of appearing since they do not come from paid devs, or working properly for that matter) to play the game in the same experience as a console when it would be cheaper and easier to get the same game on console. Plus considering Square isn't exactly very big on PC developing, I would wager we are not going to see super stellar ports from them anytime soon. If it DOES come to PC (KHIII that is), then chances are it'll come after the console versions, which hopefully mean they will optimize it with the extra time.
  8. The only other thing I fear is that PC ports these days have been very... Sub par... I am an avid PC gamer (as I stated above), but I have been VERY disappointed with the quality of the ports we've been getting... Which is part of my issue. A lot of the time the experience is stunted by poor ports. Poor performance and poor optimization can make for a very unenjoyable experience. I've noticed the latest trend with PC ports is more or less beefing them up to levels to where people who just upgraded need to upgrade again. When Call of Duty Ghosts was announced with its 6GB RAM requirement, at a time where a lot of other games ran comfortably at 3-4GB showed that developers are not being mindful of the PC ports anymore, they are just trying to get the highest looking graphics without much care for anything else. I have severely lost a lot of faith in PC ports these days because of the recent decline in their quality. Half the time when we get a PC port these days the devs are like "Here, take it and shut up." The same time and care is not really going into them anymore...
  9. Hey, I'm an avid PC gamer myself, I mean I refuse to use monitors that are not BenQs even. However I still enjoy a few of the console exclusives. Not to mention that achievements for PC games are... Let's be honest... Crap. Steam's achievement system is pretty ununified, and the fact that achievements spread across different distribution clients is annoying. That is ONE thing that I feel consoles have done better: achievements are universal. I especially liked how even PS3 trophies carry over to PS4. So as much as I love PC gaming, there is a lot of stuff that consoles just seem to do better.
  10. Alright, now before everyone goes "Oh god, dream on..." hear me out. There seems to be more and more possibility of a PC port of KH3 or even the older games, look at the evidence: -KH3 will be built on Unreal 4 which a lot of PC games are built on. -It will use DX11, also making it easier to port to PC. -Microsoft is even getting a port, thus showing that Square is willing to port it to whomever ponies up the dough. -They have been porting a lot of their other Final Fantasy titles to PC, including 13 and 13-2. -Recent studies have shown devs are more and more interested in developing for PC. Now does that mean I am all "OMG THIS BETTER HAPPEN!" No. But the idea is interesting, and would definitely expand the market for the game. So what are your thoughts on a PC port? Would you buy it?
  11. Hello, Long time Kingdom Hearts fan here, so I thought I'd join, it'll be nice having people who have similar interests. I've played mostly every game in the series, shy of a few. My favorite is definitely still two, but Dream Drop Distance is certainly earning my respect as a close second. I am like 15% of the way through Re:Chain of Memories and I just got Dream Drop Distance, but 2.5 ReMix is sort of distacting me from them. Currently doing Critical on KH2:FM. I also am an avid PC gamer and someone who generally plays all consoles. Currently I have a PS4 and a Wii U for next gen. Little interest in the XBox One really... Oh, I live with my girlfriend whom is also a fan of the KH series! Let's see... What else... Oh I plan on getting two keyblades as my second and third tattoos. I also like piercings and tattoos a lot. So what's up? Enough about me, tell me about all of you.
