  1. What to watch this season:

    1. Kyouma-Blade

      Kyouma-Blade

      One Punch Man. That's it.

    2. Xiro

      Xiro

      I'm still playing catch-up xDx

  2. Brawl is great. It improved so much on Melee for the casual experience. Subspace, Online (even if it was a bit shit), and nearly doubled the character roster. Black and White is a close second for me. I'm positive I poured in at least 200 hours in that thing. New Pokemon, interesting story, and an awesome aftergame.
  3. Ah, whoops. Those two I mentioned are the basis, and are generally considered the best starting points. Anything else with the Fate tag usually builds off those anime. And yes, you should definitely watch NGE soon.
  4. By that, you mean Neon Genesis Evangelion? Just keep on watching the television series. After you finish the television series, watch End of Evangelion, the movie that is the "true" ending to the series. Angel Beats has a bunch of things wrong with it, but I rated it a four, because of TK. And the comedy scenes were alright. The romance and drama scenes weren't as great.
  5. "Angel Beats!: 1" Good man. Also, why is NGE on hold at episode one, but you rated it a nine? Looks like you like action, so the Fate series might fit your liking. I think it's better to start with Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works, then watch its prequel, Fate/Zero. The reason is because Fate/Zero is better in my opinion, but watching the better one first will ruin your enjoyment of the slightly worse, but still good, one.
  6. I think the reason you have headaches is because you're not used to the 60fps. In a gameplay standpoint, it's almost always better to have more fps, because then your inputs have more precision. It's more helpful in rhythm based games or shooters.
  7. I'm curious on what anime you've watched to make you think this way. It seems like you guys are picking up a lot of harem shows. There are a lot of bad shows coming out recently, but there are good ones as well. Humor quality has decreased in shows that don't focus on comedy, but I think that's to be expected. If you're interested in shows focusing in comedy, Nichijou, Daily Lives of High School Boys, and Cromartie High School are older, but funny shows. I'd also throw in Welcome to the NHK, which is a mix of psychological and comedy, and Azumanga Daioh, which I haven't watched yet, but heard great things. Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works, Parasyte, Your Lie in April, Shirobako, Koufuku Graffiti, Hibike Euphonium, Ore Monogatari, and School Live are good anime from 2014-2015, with none of the bad qualities Col.Random listed. Of course, the number of bad shows are not to be understated, but no one seems to mention the better shows when talking about the recent years of anime. I'm sure there are plenty of old anime that were bad, yet went forgotten.
  8. That's got to be some sort of record, posting your first post four years after making an account. Welcome.
  9. Interesting, I don't think I've ever heard anyone hate MR. I'd also agree with your opinion, although I don't think the arc was that great compared to other anime that executed something like this much better in terms of the talented person but expected death, like Your Lie in April. I'd blame it on the limited episodes they worked on the arc. I don't think anyone made a good counter point to any of his initial points here yet, so I'd be interested on what your thoughts are. Also, just so you know, it's perfectly fine to enjoy something. I've made a mistake in the past where I thought it wasn't fine to enjoy something, and I regret that. It's absolutely okay to enjoy whatever you like. The line really comes along when someone decides that enjoyment = quality.
  10. That's not exactly proof either. It's a possibility, not that it's happening. There are plenty of creators who said something was a possibility, but ended up not happening, whether or not it was outside of their control. This does add a little bit more to the leak, but it's a water droplet in a fire, in the grand scheme of things.
  11. Based purely on the links provided, it seems like more vapid claims without any solid proof. I have no outside knowledge of this, by the way, so correct me if I'm wrong. From the first link, "Note to journalists: This unofficialdocument is not necessarily accurate." Right at the top of the page. Self explanatory, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's fake. It's also a text document, so it's super easy to make it up. The second link is silly. The person who posted it has no proof whatsoever, just correlations and theories. The Doctor makes a sound argument, but the poster deflects it by asking for proof. Like, what? The burden of proof is on you, Kaito. You didn't prove anything, just posted some things that may or may not be happening.
  12. Oh yeah, I keep seeing this mentioned as a good anime, but I've never got around to watching it. Adding that to my massive backlog. In all honesty, I'm probably going to get to the anime when this movie ends up releasing, but hey, at least it'll still be fresh on my mind when I watch the movie.
  13. I keep getting told that the show will get better, but I've yet to see any real improvement. I'll keep following this series, in hopes that it does get better, but I do wish it happens soon. Hopefully, since this is apparently a brand new story coming from the author, I'll get to see the improvement in writing. Cheers.
  14. Funny, but not exactly an in-depth review, seeing as you put in five different anime to talk about in the post. Just want to say that some people in this thread really overreacted to the criticisms you put out there, even if those criticisms were executed crudely. People hide behind the claim that it's all opinion based, but then they turn around and call something like Justin Beiber's music or Twilight shit. In order for something to be considered good, you have to factor in an objective viewpoint, or else everything could be considered good, since some random person thought it was good. Not exactly calling any one person out, since I've run into this kind of thought process multiple times, and it's been annoying me for a while. Want to point out they did imply a time skip and that he solo'd multiple enemies during that time. Not the best way to do an action show though. Also, as a nitpick, the Fairy Dance Arc is a part of the first season. Guns could be cool, but the way they tried to utilize the guns for action was not really fun, since Kirito decided to firetruck it and just use a lightsaber. Also, I found Log Horizon to be quite a jarring difference from SAO. Namely, it paid more attention to the strategies, politics and individual lives of the people living in the game, rather than the action. The action it does have is okay, but nothing to get excited over or watch it for. It's supposed to be a slower paced anime, as far as i could tell. Your other points I essentially agree with. I, again, agree with most of your points here. I disagree that it should be outright overlooked though. I personally liked the ridiculousness of the anime, and it being self-aware made it even better, since they could basically burn the envelope in regards to the limits to the sheer amount of stupidity it contains. In the end, you're right, since at some points you couldn't really tell when it was being satirical or actually playing out the trope, but I'd at least recommend that they should watch the first 2 or 3 episodes to get a feel for how the anime works, and see if they would enjoy it. The other three I haven't watched. For K-On, I've heard it is the pinnacle of the slice of life genre, and made by KyoAni, so I want to at least try it. For School Days, I've been spoiled the whole plot of, so I don't feel the need to watch it, but not comfortable enough to give my opinion on it. For Lucky Star, my sister watched it, and I was disinterested in what parts I saw. As for your whole review, I'd recommend cleaning it up, formatting wise and language wise. Reading through all of that was a bit of an eyesore. Splitting it up into multiple paragraphs would definitely help. As evident in this thread, many people have wrote off your opinion as a troll review, or a hater. It'd help get your opinions taken more seriously if you didn't use cuss words as much. I think it's more effective using foul language less frequently, because when it does pop up, readers would know how much you mean it. I hope you take my criticisms to heart, since it hurts me seeing someone's opinions get disregarded as a troll. Edit: I also want to tack on that some other people's points on here are right as well. Just because an anime has no story, it doesn't mean it's inherently bad. The aim of a slice of life show is to have no overarching plotline. In essence, by thinking that way, you are automatically disregarding an entire genre that actually has some good moments as bad. Also, it would've been better putting as least favorite, rather than outright shitty, since there are a plethora of other shitty anime that went under the radar, since it was that bad.

  16. It's good so far, but the hype is really coming from the manga readers. Apparently, there are a lot of talented animators working on this anime, so it's at least going to have really nice animation. Here's a video that talks about that.
  17. Honestly a bit sick of all of these non-leaks coming out recently. "Hey guys, I know who's coming and you don't!!!" It's stupid, and people are eating it up. Whatever comes out of people's mouths, it's all hot air until they give something substantial. I don't care if the people saying it are allegedly credible; it's still stuff that has no evidence. I think it's believable that the Inklings are coming, but this is ridiculous.
  18. Hmm, I think so. This person seems like they want her in a bit. Just a tiny bit.
  19. ZeRo won Sm4sh at TBH5, after being knocked into losers bracket by Seagull Joe, and taking it over Nairo at Grand Finals. ZeRo was probably on edge after losing to Seagull Joe, so props to him for keeping it together and taking the tourney. Armada won Melee at TBH5, after taking it over Hungrybox. The Sweds are winning the tourneys. Armada is playing amazingly well right now.
  20. Patch Notes for this update are included here, if you want to check your individual character and see if they changed at all. Shield Stun has been increased a couple more frames. This is probably the most important change in this patch. Let me explain what this means to those who don't know. Shield stun is a mechanic where if an opponent is shielding and you attack their shield, the opponent cannot act until a certain amount of time later. For instance, if you were to attack a person shielding with Marth's Down Air, the person shielding would not be able to do anything for a few frames. However, since Marth's Down Air has an extreme amount of endlag when landing, the opponent would be able to attack them before Marth could act again. Now, with the increase of shield stun, the person shielding will have a tighter time frame to be able to do something against Marth. This could fix one of the complaints about the nature of this game, which is its defensive options. With shielding not being as viable, it may force players to play more aggressively.
  21. Summary of my thoughts of the past two seasons: Spring: DanMachi - SAO with a fresh coat of paint. But, it has Hestia, so 4/10. Hibike! Euphonium: Semi-interesting story, with deep, but unexplored characters. Appealed to band people, so my bias gave it an 8/10. Nisekoi: - It's shit. Except for Kosaki, she's best girl. 4/10 Ore Monogatari!! - Cute story, cute characters, so firetrucking cute. Doesn't do much else though. 7/10 Plastic Memories - First half was better, romance was weak, though it got me with some emotional cheap shots at the end. 5/10 Shokugeki no Souma - If you ever wanted to fap to food, this is that anime. Enjoyable, but Koufuku Graffiti is better. 6/10 Summer: Charlotte - Biggest disappoint of the season. Beginning was meh, but the ending was rushed and shit. 3/10 Gakkou Gurashi! - Threw me for a loop on the first episode, and stuck in that loop ever since. 9/10 GATE - Not finished yet, taking a cour break. I'm not sure why I'm enjoying this, but I am. So far, 6/10. Gangsta. - It was cool the first few episodes, then went in a spiral down, both animation and story wise. Read the manga ending. 4/10 Durarara!!x2 Ten - Not finished yet, taking a cour break. Interesting story, but I still feel lost. Mikado's finally interesting though, so that's good. 7/10 Shimoneta - I'm behind on this, since I'm watching the uncensored version. It's funny so far, but not much else to say. Overlord - Not finished yet, one episode left as of my writing this. SAO with a fresh coat of paint. Seriously, how could someone enjoy this crap?
  22. Judging from the anime you gave us, you seem to prefer action anime. Off the top of my head, you might like Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works - There's another anime under the same name made by Studio DEEN, but I was recommended against watching it, so make sure you watch the right one if you decide to not watch it on Crunchyroll. I found the anime really fun. Spectacular animation and art direction. The story is a battle royale between seven people who team up with a person with historical impact, so they can claim the Holy Grail, the ultimate wish granter. I found the story is a bit weak overall, but I didn't find myself bothered by it, since the characters made up for that. The main character is a bit of a dumbass at times, but he evolves to a better character towards the end. If you enjoy this anime, I recommend watching Fate/Zero afterwards. Parasyte: The Maxim - As a fair warning, there's quite a bit of body gore in this anime, though it doesn't use that as its gimmick. If you don't mind that, I found this anime to be very deep. It starts off with a teenager whose arm is taken over by an alien parasite bent on eating all of mankind, and how the main character lives with it. It talks about the bigger picture about the human race, and what it means to be a human. Baccano! - This anime tells its story in a different way from usual. There are three concurrent plot lines going on at the same time, and the anime switches between the three of them at will. You might be mildly confused at first, but after a while you should be able to catch up on what's going on. This takes place in the early 1930s in the Chicago area, rampant with gangs. There are many main characters, each blessed with the power of immortality. Between those three, I hope you find something of interest. I see you didn't mention Attack on Titan, so if you didn't watch that, try it, since it's not bad.
