I wouldn't be so quick to equate how long a form was useful to how useful it actually was. I mean, if we're strictly talking about how useful a form is anyways.
-
Uh.... what? Jumping out of situations usually leaves you vulnerable with little to no viable options unless you revert->aerial dodge->glide.
-
For y'all saying that Master Form isn't that powerful, you clearly aren't using it correctly. Valor Form is easily the worst form by far. Wisdom has multiple ways to defend itself and dish out damage. Valor is pretty putrid once you get Limit Form.

Let's Support Osaka Team!
bbizkitz replied to The Transcendent Key's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
Let me preface this post by first stating that I do not laugh at anyone that enjoys BBS or DDD. I hate both of these games, and for very good reason, but if anyone ever asked me if they should play BBS/DDD, I would say yes. I always want people to form opinions for themselves on the game rather than blindly follow my point of view. That being said, I think the thing that amazes me to this day about Osaka Team games (more specifically BBS/DDD) is that their fans rarely look at their games in a critical light. In fact, fans of Osaka Teams are VERY quick to be apologetic of Osaka Team even when they do recognize they aren't perfect, and this thread is a perfect example of this. Time and time again, I see fans saying these exact things, that we should love and support they Osaka Team and give them credit for working their butts off and we shouldn't judge them too harshly for the mistakes they CONSISTENTLY make in each of their games (and this includes the ports 1.5 and 2.5 by the way). The only thing I have to say in response to this is... really? Look I want KH3 to be good as much as everybody else, but just being wide-eyed and saying "KH3 will be good" when clearly Osaka Team has not done a great job is in fact the worst thing you can do as a fan. Yeah, acknowledging that BBS/DDD has flaws is great, but then to go back and say "it's no biggie, I'm sure KH3 will be great." Like there is no evidence to back up that Osaka Team will do a good job besides blind faith in them, and do you honestly think blind faith will do that? If you just sit on your hands and say nothing, Osaka Team will just go back to making KH3 with proven flawed gameplay mechanics, and nobody wants that in KH3. I'll never understand fans who think that blindly supporting a game developer whom has made games with incredibly obvious flaws is going to actually make KH3 into a good game. Also, to the person who labeled me a "speedrunner" as if it's some kind of insult. Speedrunners do not just "hate" video games and love using game breaking glitches and "cheating" the game. We're just like you, we're fans of video games and want to see them do well. The only difference between you and me is that we get really in depth with video games and we see these game mechanics up close and personal. I love KH1 and KH2, I hate BBS/DDD, but I do NOT want KH3 to just be a clone of KH1/KH2, I want it to try new things and incorporate new ideas. Heck I like Re:Coded's system a lot and would like to see something like that implemented. I even like DDD's idea of flow motion, even if it was implemented poorly in 3D. The point here is, your conception of how a speedrunner thinks and what he/she feels I feel is very skewed and I hope you think about that differently from now on. -
Ugh. Presentation in the Review is nice and I'm sure he put lots of time into it, but I hate popular Reviews that only look at games from the surface level. I also hate Birth by Sleep, so there's that.

I was hoping for a lot more engaging discussion as a result of Sky's video, you guys haven't even scratched the surface. If I had to label Days, it was a game with infinitely missed potential. Days was a wonderful opportunity to get some backstory and insight on Organization XIII and it's members. Instead the focus is narrowed to just Roxas, Axel, and Xion's relationship, and while I think Roxas and Axel are awesome and getting some insight on their history is great, Xion is just incredibly uninteresting and there a bunch of days where nothing happens and you start to see the plot getting really stale really fast. The combat had some cool stuff about it. There were SO many Keyblade to choose from and a lot of them had their own combo modifications, making them incredibly unique. You also had Keyblades specifically dedicated to Magic, Air Combos, Ground Combos, etc., and adding Ability Units to unlock a new combo or ability within the Keyblade was also super fun. Your Keyblade was just very customizable and I find that really cool. The magic system was really poor, item magic I feel is just an overall bad idea. Why would I run Cure when Hi-Potion is the same thing as Cure but just better? If anything, the -ra and -ga forms of spells not just being a stronger version of the same thing I thought was super cool. Blizzaga being an AOE ice mine I thought was very creative. I think where Days REALLY starts to wear on people is the mission system. The idea is to prepare for each mission, setting up your panels so that you have a better chance of success. The problem is a LOT of these missions just end up being really slow, tedious, and overall boring. Instead of naturally wanting to visit a world and beat up heartless, this regimented format makes going to a world seem like a chore. It's your job now to go to these worlds and do recon or beat a big heartless, and the over combat sadly isn't very in-depth either, which really doesn't help the matter. The backpack system in each mission is also an absolute joke. Your only allowed to carry a certain amount of items, and when you're full, you then have to decide between 2 synth items you're not sure you really need, which was never an issue in any other KH game and it doesn't add to the overall experience, it's just frustrating. Another potential reason for why the mission system failed so much is that your goal was so long-term, I don't think players really cared or got attached. Roxas' role is obviously to defeat heartless which will eventually build Kingdom Hearts, but that goal is so far in the future, you really don't have much to look forward to plowing through these missions. You only have about 8 "real" bosses in the game, and half of them are very poorly designed. Other than that, your reward for each mission is a cutscene usually involving Roxas, Axel, and Xion, and even then, like Sky pointed out, sometimes NOTHING happens in these cutscenes. These are big reasons for why the overall mission system drags on for what seems like forever. It's not the worst KH game I've seen, but it's pretty close.

Mysterious Figure Wins?

If you want advice most everyone has given good advice. This fight is just awful and hardly seems worth it it's so unfair. Good luck to you sir. -
That's cute.

Kingdom Hearts 2's controls are terrible
bbizkitz replied to Spencer Ellis Norman's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Shortcuts make this really easy for the Magic/Items you constantly use. As for actually navigating with the D-Pad, it's really easy to get used to, I've started clawing it with my left index finger and you get used to it after awhile. Just because opinions can't be wrong, per say, doesn't mean they can't be criticized. It's honestly quite easy to get used to KH2's Command Menu, though it is barely more difficult than BBS's Command Deck. On another note, when you title your Thread "Kingdom Hearts 2's controls are terrible", I would think you'd expect a few people to disagree with and criticize your opinion. NEVER equip Dodge Slash. I de-equip Upper Slash after awhile, but most every other attack modifier stays on. -

We're looking for people to livestream on our Twitch channel
bbizkitz replied to DChiuch's topic in General Discussion
Hiya. I'd like to stream on the KH13 Twitch channel as well. I typically do speedruns on my channel, but I'm always doing KH related stuff. I feel as if I'm not quite as familiar with the KH13 community as I'd like to be, so this seems like a great way to introduce myself. Kingdom Hearts Speed running marathon November 14-18
bbizkitz replied to thtwhit3kid's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Just to add to what whit3 said in the OP, we're raising money to get our community members to make it to AGDQ. AGDQ (Awesome Games Done Quick) is a gigantic speedrunning charity event coming this late December, and because of it's popularity, it's extremely hard to get your game accepted into the schedule. After a couple years of being denied, Kingdom Hearts was finally given a chance, so now that we're in, we want to make an impact by having as many community members there as possible. We'll be running just about every single Kingdom Hearts game in the series, so check out the schedule to catch your favorite games. Hopefully you guys stop by and enjoy.
