Sea salt trio for sure! I love how Days showed them becoming friends and the way they did it just makes you so invested by them end that even though you know everything had to fall apart you're still rooting and hoping and hoping and praying that it doesnt. You BELIEVE that they are close and that they matter to each other because they show it. Even though Days is slow and the gameplay repetitive at times, the story and characters is where it shines brightest and is what carries it. I love how the game has become more popular over the years exactly for the reason of the characters and all the interactions between them and the ORG members. I honestly think if they had made this game for the psp like BBS, and found a way to make the missions a bit more varried and interesting (without sacrificing how that repetitiveness helped play a part into Roxas' wanting to leave) this game would have been way better loved. Though I sometimes think the very simple nature of the gameplay and graphics were perhaps what helped them spend more time dedicated to the story during development. Which i hate to contrast them with with the Wayfinders where in BBS they just come out and SAY they are close friends before showing them separating and their relationship fall apart. The foundation of their relationship isnt as strong in the story and that really affected how I saw them. Constrasting them even with the Destiny trio who had a very similar situation (3 bffs who very shortly after we meet them get separated) they took the time in KH1 to show us that they were friends and their dynamics. TL;DR: Seasalt-Destiny-Wayfinder Sry about the rant sometimes when this comes up I just get so carried away.

Day 23: Biggest plot twist The time travel...oh god the time travel. I remember playing 3Ds and getting to that point in the story and just stopping and sitting there like, "The heck?! What?!" And going to the forums and trying to suss out with other people the whats and the hows and the whys. Although a very, very close 2nd is when I had just got into the fandom after playing KH2. I jumped into the forums and fan sites life when 358/2 Days was still in development and info about the story and screen shots and translations were still coming out. And when i learned that Axel and Saix had been really good friends when they were somebodies i FREAKED OUT!! I remember slamming my laptop shut, calling my sister and just gushing over what a twist that was and what it could all mean and how so much from KH2 now made more sense and just....oh man haha! It was my first fan freak out moment, it was just such a twist/reveal for me at the time even though it wasnt that big of a reveal.

Leaks: A Warning
Fates Chance XIII replied to DemyxIsBest's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
Oh yeah, I keep getting HUGE SPOILERS IN MY YOUTUBE RECCOMENDED FEED!! AND AS A PERSON WHO HAS A VERY, VERY HUGE WEAKNESS FOR SPOILERS THIS IS MAKING THINGS SO DIFFICULT!!! T^T I dont mind being spoiled on tv shows, movies, or even books because it just hypes me up more to see everything in context and even while I'm watching the thing I get so excited when the part I know is coming up is about to happen. I am the type of person who looks up the full synopsis of almost all movies before i go see them. (Mostly as a way to make sure I'm not wasting my money and time on a movie i wont end up liking) But yeah, I love spoilers when I choose to seek them out. With that in mind can you see why this is so freaking hard?! The titles of these things are even spoilers and I am so SOOOOOO tempted!!! And when i see them, I just wants to know and click SO baaaaaad!!! Even spoilers loving me though has things I want to see for the first time in game but OH MAN are these leaks just everywhere now and it is wearing me down!!! T^T -
Is anyone else out there just kind of freaking out a little bit that KINGDOM HEARTS 3 is actually going to be out in less than a FREAKING WEEK?! This thing that we've all waited for for so long, some of us the majority of our lives, til the point where it just felt like it was gonna be that way forever is actually gonna be in our hands! It just doesnt feel real. It's so weird to think that in a few weeks, it'll finally be the culmination of everything we've been loving and obsessing and theorizing and talking about for such a long time. How it'll be over. It feels so bittersweet. I know I should just be so so so HAPPY but I'm a little sad too. It feels like this was lightning in a bottle, like this whole experience isnt going to happen again, that it cant happen again. And while I know the series will go on, that it has a future, everything going forward is gonna be different. All the KH games were over so many generations of game systems and consoles that to look at all the previous games is like looking at a time so long ago different. And I guess that's why it feels so bittersweet for me. I've grown up with this game and series, and with 3 finally coming out it feels like the final book end of me growing up. And every new game after will be me enjoying it as an adult. I'm just kinda sad, and I dont want to be. It's taken so long to get here and now it just feels like it's rushing right to the finishline and...I dont know...I thought I'd be bouncing off the walls. I know that was rambly and sentimental but idk, is anyone else feeling this way?

Favorite Org XIII members? Oh man, well...I like so many of them! Axel is definitely my favorite but Roxas is a really close 2nd. I also love Xigbar, he's such a character! Always messing around and messing with people. Though I dont think I'd like him very much as a real person I'd have to deal with all the time. Demyx is also really funny, though i think they capture that better in the manga since you barely see him in the games. I'd put Xion up there but she technically isnt a member.

I always got that feeling from Saix too until i read the novels, which made me look closer at his character. In the novels you get more of a window into how this devotion is more of an act. You see the contempt and mistrust a lot more. And even in the games it's there but i never really noticed it from the subtlety. When you get into Saix point of view, he never thinks of Xemnas in any sort of devoted or special way. He sees Xemnas as poweful but doesnt trust him at all. He puts on a face. Something i never took much notice of is how Saix refers to Xemnas. When he and Axel are talking about their plans and stuff, he drops the 'Lord' from Xemnas name. I never thought about it, but those moments showed a difference between Saix mask as a loyal underling to xemnas and how he really felt about him when plotting. The novel actually brings attention to this detail through Axels point of view.

I do wonder what happened between those two to make them so distrustful of each other. Why did Saix start keeping secretes? Why did he start treating Axel like someone to just be ordered arround? I sometimes wonder if Saix literally couldnt tell Axel more or if it was a choice. Like did being Norted make him not fully in control of himself and his mind? If he revealed things to Axel, would Xemnas know somehow since Saix was Norted? Did being Norted chabge his personality? Did Saix think he was being watched? I wouldnt put it past them considering how they really did not trust Saix much and Axel even less.

At least in the Days light novel it does out right say their plan was to take over the Org or more specifically over throw Xemnas. It's not said much but they knew he had ulterior motives than getting their hearts back which is what Saix and Axel wanted. They wanted to find out what Xemnas was planning and to do that they needed Saix to climb the ladder. Have him get closer to the upper command. I think the reason they (A&S) decided to have Saix play this part was 1: Saix tells Axel hes not good at hiding his intentions, and 2: they both acknowledge that Saix is more powerful of the two of them. Which maked it sound like perhaps the rest of the plan was to have Saix get close, find out what was up, and if it was not conducive to them getting their hearts to have Saix take Xemnas out. Or maybe have both of them do it? Or maybe they thought Saix would stand a better chance if he got found out that close to Xemnas? This however i think was ultimately doomed to fail because Xemnas and Xigbar did not trust either of them very far and I'm not convinced they could have defeated Xemnas in a fight. Let alone both Xemnas and xigbar. But whats more, Saix ultimately saw all ills they did as a means to an end and everything other than both of them as tools to get there. He didnt care who or what needed to be sacrificed. And it seemed Axel concurred until that end required him to give up and betray someone he cared about. And as Saix began to also treat Axel as a tool to the end plan rather than a partner, you can see where everything completely unraveled. And Saix meanwhile seems to be feeling like he is the one who was betrayed by Axel. Since he no longer was willing to do what ever it took to get their hearts back. I freaking love their dynamic in the books man! Everytime they are together in the books i just never want it to end. I just want to see more. I never really thought much of Saix or his character until i read the novel and got glimpses into his point of view and their relationship. I really hope we get more of his point of view.

I'm at WDW in Florida today and my sis and i were in line to see Alice. And i thought about mentioning something about Kingdom Hearts because i had on a KH hoodie. But i decided not to say anything cause the face characters usually cant say anything about KH because either they dont know anything about it or they arent allowed. (I've tried before to get an autograph from Queen Minnie to get shut down by the handlers.) But once we got up to her and began speaking she mentioned how the Mad Hatter is having a rough time since being stuck in "That painting" and i laughed and was like, "...wait did she...?" And then she said, "But you know all about that from Sora i imagine." I was speechless. I didnt know what to day back. I just thought, "You know sora?" So i just affirmed and we spoke a few more kh words and hints of being in the know about sora before we had to leave and it just made my trip. I wish i had something better or more interesting to say. I was just so stunned!!

I finished reading the 358/2 days novel a little while ago and by far my favorite parts of it were when the point of view shifted from the main cast to other characters. Saix interactions with Axel were always a highlight while reading it. And especially getting to even be in Saix point of view from tike to time though it was never for very long. But after i was finished I found myself wanting to read more of this story from of all people Saixs point of view. Not only to get to see what the higher members were up to during the story, but also to see Saix and Axels friendship fall apart and get more interactions between them. What do you think? Would you be interested in reading something like that?

This is why I really wanna read the KH2 novel. I just finised Days, fully anticipating it to just be a play by play if the game, but instead it dug into a lot of the points of view you dont get in the games. You learn about stuff that was happening off screen or dives deeper into character motivations or relationships. Ive only read some of the KH2 novel from a sample chapter, but it seems like they are doing the same thing! I need to get me that book! For example, in the Days novel you spend more time in other peoples POV than in Roxas'! You get to see in roxas head, but when you are, you learn about things he was thinking about that you didnt before. It made me want individual books of the story from all the main players points of view. Especially Saixs'!

What you used to believe....

It's even funnier because Aqua in BBS saying he is the spitging image of Ven and I'm just like ???? Um...you sure? In the novels they walk this back though. Axel says Roxas looks only slightly like sora. Just a little bit. He says those two things one right after the other. -

That reminded me of how before the sora ventus roxas connection was known, people would always talk about how nobodies look the same as their somebodies but with slight differences. And how Soras nobodys hair changed color and that was the difference for him. But now we see that nobodies look exactly like their sombodies (axels tats and norted eyes not included). Oh yeah. and how people thought yellow eyes and pointed ears meant someone had fallen to the darkness. Rather than it being a Xehanort specific thing. -

And when we were all confused as to why ROXAS was there?!?!?! Oh man the theories... I miss those days. When everyone's brains were just endlessly trying to figure everything out. It was really interesting seeing where everyone thought things were gonna go. -
I agree. Even though the pacong was slow and dragged at times, that game really gave the friendship of those three and their relationship the time it deserved to develop. You saw that trio become a trio. Saw their trials, fights, make ups, betrayals and everything build up until finally they just fell apart. The scene when Roxas confronts Axel at the end and demands answers and Axel refuses saying Roxas just needs to trust him, and Roxas saying, "I dont, I can't" was one of the biggest gut punches of the entire game! It was the culmination of everything finally just imploding on itself. The final nail in the coffin, the last straw. Days feels like it earned it's sad moments really well. And after playing that then going to BBS, I just didnt feel the same thing from the Wayfinder trio. We just start the game with them talking about how they're best friends and then conflict and they are having hard times. Their relationship didnt feel as close before all the drama happened. I feel like if it had had a slower start, to establish their relationship the story would've been way more impactful for me. Spend a couple days before the exam establishing their dynamic and relationship as a trio. I dont dislike BBS, but seeing the missed opportunity in it frustrates me just a little.

Saddest moments: CoM: Riku meeting the King in person in CO. That was more bittersweet than sad, but the way he reacts to it avout not being alone anymore just T^T KH2: "Lets meet again...in the next life" "Yeah, I'll be waiting." "Silly....just because you have a next life..." Roxas disappearing to Sora, the line he says about sora being lucky still gets me to this day. Sora crying when the twilight town gang comes to see him off. Axel dying. That is the first time a video game ever made me cry. Seeing them kidnap Roxas and put him in the digital TT. When Riku says, "Poor thing..." you can see the remorse for what he's doing for just a moment. Though it is undercut by him calling roxas a "Thing" Ansem the wise saying, "Roxas...i doubt you can hear me...but I am sorry" Axel and Roxas last good bye on the clock tower. DAYS: Axel, Roxas and Xions friendship falling apart. Axel and Xions confrontation (though this one made the list after i read how it was done in the novel.) "THEY'RE GONNA DESTROY YOU!!" Axels point of view in the novel really. You feel the conflict in him a lot more of what to do and how desperate he is to save both his friends, and coming to accept that he can only save one. Xions death in Days, I cried. BBS: Ummm....i know I'm in the minority here but BBS didnt resonate with me as sad as the other games. There were sad moments, but nothing that made this list. 3Ds: Sora meeting Xion and Roxas Riku meeting Xion, Roxas and Ven and being asked those questions. Coded: Data sora being confronted with Data Roxas.

I remember reading that Zexion was the youngest memeber until Roxas joined so that gives us a start for his age. I dont imagine hes that much older than Roxas and them- probably~18-20. On the if Nobodies age front I remember this changed along the way. Nomura was asked once in an interview i think back before BBS if Nobodies aged and he said yes they did age. Even without a heart, the body would continue to age. Then after BBS came out and we learned that if you kill a nobody and heartless the person is reformed, people started to ask again if Nobodies aged again because of Xemnas' connection to Terra. Because that would mean Xemnas body (which is Terras body) had aged and therefore if Terra came back he'd be nearly in his 30s. That was when he changed it to no they dont age. Which i assume happened so Terra would be able to come back not having aged a day to keep him closer in age to everyone else. However it's pretty clear they do age just from their heights and looks and the fact that they came back in the same aged bodies. I also just finished the Days novel and at one point Axel acknowledges that he is about 10 yrs older than Roxas. I personally would be fine with Terra coming back aged because it wouldnt make sense for him not too have aged like everyone else. They are always calling him a vessel, and he clearly looks older than Terranort so it would be kindof annoying if he came back looking the same as he did in BBS. Maybe they'll explain it, probably not. I cant imagine them keeping him looking like Xemnas just with brown hair.

Yeah, you really cant beat that, "You're home." Moment in KH2. and seeing Soras form fade away to Roxas and have him look up to see Namine smiling oh MAN that hit me so hard when i first saw it. Because when i first played kh2 I went into it pretty blind only ever having played some of CoM. I didnt know roxas had any connection to sora or even who this new character was and why i was playing him. But after the prologue, i was devastated at his fate. It was just so unfair and tragic and seeing Roxas accept his fate in Sora, and smile up at Namine, that was what i wanted for him, to be happy dang it! And before Days came along, before i even knew there was gonna be more games, when I was so new and didnt know this wasnt the end, that moment was just so powerful the first time arround. Also i gotta say in 3Ds when Axel came in for a last min rescue, that was also a moment when i was so happy and excited for him to be coming back into the story and it made me like squeal when i saw it on my ds for the first time!

Day 10, Favorite original world Twilight Town without a doubt! Twilight (dusk) is my absolute favorite time of day so when i first saw it I was already in love with it. Also the atmosphere, the colors or the world, the music! It is just such a beautiful place! I used to listen to the music on my ipod all the time when i was a kid. Also it has ties with my favorite trio, the sea salt trio. I also really love Traverse Town because it is just such an interesting concept and place to explore (i hope we get to see it again!). And i think it is a really beautiful town. I also like the world that never was because of its connections to the organization and I wish we couldve explored it more.

Day 9: Favorite FF character. Hm...I've never played any FF game all the way through so this is pretty much based only on them in the KH games. I really love Tifa cause she is awesome! I also like Leon, I just find his personality funny, and Cid too. Oh and Zack in BBS was cool too! I hope we see more of him. Though with FF7s story probably not... I think those are my favorites, yeah.
