  1. For what it's worth, I thought VIII had a pretty fun battle/character development system and that it was a different twist on the genre. I wouldn't want it on every FF, not even close, but I thought it was very interesting and required more strategy, care and attention than your usual "level up and advance in a development grid" system. Personally, I think you should at least try it. Most people I know enjoyed the game quite a bit. It is my second favorite FF.
  2. That's a pretty extreme generalization. I can tell you I don't like X-2 simply because it's not for me. I dislike a lot of the mechanics.
  3. My younger years were spent playing VII-XII as I grew up with these games. Without counting replays among "newplays": - FFVII - FFVIII - FFIX - FFX - FFXII - FFVI - FFIV (Not sure what order FFV, III, II and I). - FFXIII - FFXIII-2 - FFXIII: Lightning Returns - FFXIV (Didn't complete though) Since I had so much time between XII and XIII, I simply played all of the ones I had missed out on. BTW, if anyone's curious, this is how I rate them from best to worst:
  4. PS4 would be great, it just doesn't feel as good on a portable console (and even less as a MMOG). DQVIII is still one of the best RPGs I've ever played, and I'm pretty sure it always will be.
  5. I bought them, platinumed X, downloaded X-2 to see if it was still as unappealing to me as it was a few years ago. 30 minutes was enough for me to realise I haven't changed that much.
  6. I've played all of them indeed. Plus, neither are VITA games, they're either PSX/PSP games. Chaos Rings III is the only game for the VITA as far as I can tell, and it'll be out in October. I played the first one on iPhone and it was pretty fun actually.
  7. It's almost non-existing unfortunately. I've played FFX on the PS3, and they're publishing Chaos Rings III in October. That's pretty much it.
  8. Great suggestions, thanks! I'm really interested in the SAO game, since the anime was pretty cool. Any opinions on the Atelier franchise? I've never played any of them, but have been curious about it for a long time.
  9. Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. I bought the system for it. I had played a bunch of DS games before it on my DSi though.
  10. Hey everyone, So I took the plunge and got the VITA today, it felt like it was the right time. I already have a bunch of good titles from PS Plus (Soul Sacrifice, Uncharted, Sly Cooper, Virtue's Last Reward, among others), but I'm missing JRPG goodness. A given is Persona 4: Golden, which I will definitely get but I played it (and Persona 3) on PS2 too recently, so I'll wait a little bit before I get it. I've also platinumed FFX on the PS3 already, and don't like X-2, so I'm not planning on getting that. Any recommended JRPGs? I'd like some opinions from actual JRPG fans, reviews are terrible for the genre. BTW, I don't mind playing imported as well, since my Japanese isn't half bad and I can get around pretty ok playing Japanese versions, so throw import suggestions if you've got any. Thanks in advance!
  11. I'll get it on release day, but will only start playing it by the 23rd or something like that. I'll beat the games themselves in about a week. But to get the platinum, maybe 3 months. (I'm currently working on KH 1.5's platinum).
  12. Uhm, no. Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm pretty sure it'll be a 2016 release.
  13. Personally, I'd get Tales of Xillia 2. Tales of Xillia was awesome. But Bravely Default is really interesting, and it seems to me like an old-school Final Fantasy, which is a good thing. But I always go for the console, sit on couch, big-screen game when I have to make a choice like that.
  14. The Witcher 3, Persona 5, and Arkham Knight are at the top of my list.
  15. Obrigado, tenho a certeza que sim.
  16. I'd have to say Guild Wars 2. It is the most fun MMORPG I've played to date. Quickly: I can't recommend any other MMORPG more than Guild Wars 2. I've played FFXIV, and it is quite fun as well but some of its mechanics are very generic. Check reviews for both, they'll help you make a decision.
  17. I will feel a clinch in my heart because whatever time I have to wait will be too much.
  18. I loved that mechanic, but I don't think it'll be around, nor do I think it should be. Like others have said, KH3 needs its own mechanics. I hope Synch Blade is around in some form though.
  19. Hey everyone, I've been a longtime reader of KH13, and a fan of Kingdom Hearts since it first came out in 2002. I've been playing JRPGs for years, and Kingdom Hearts is the game I fell in love with. I'm not sure how active I'll be, but I hope to have fun around here, and contribute in as many ways as I can. I am a 22 year old dude, and I write from Portugal, kupo!
  20. The games I mentioned aren't anamorphic. They're 16:9, 1920x1080. I'm not arguing that they are "demanding to the hardware" (albeit the PS3's main problem isn't the processor, but the limited amount of memory available), I'm just saying they exist and that it is possible.
  21. Well, you didn't say all Square Enix games, you said all PS3 games. So that's how I interpreted it. If what you meant was Square Enix games, then you'd be right (I think), but I can't interpret what isn't there. There are plenty of games that are native 1080p. Virtua Tennis 3 is an example. A handful of PSN games are another. You don't need an incredibly large amount of memory to output at 1080p resolution, the main problem are textures. It'd be hard (if not impossible) to produce FFXIII, or even KH HD, in native 1080p, but it is still possible for "lightweight titles".
  22. I can't wait for December. I NEED this. This is not true. I'm sure it is true in the case of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 though (and almost certainly of 2.5). But not all games are upscaled from 720p.
