Will Sora Lose His Keyblade?
MarkXIIII replied to xCarlisle's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
He wasn't intended to get the keyblade by inheriting it, but the keyblade in its true form (Kingdom Key) itself chose him. -
Aw, so cute!

WTF? This really happened? I know not in this context but, really?

I was thinking and I realized that in DDD we already had the chance to defeat Xehanort once and for all! I'm serious! If Riku had killed Young Xehanort, he would not have been able to return back in time and grow into old Xehanort. Therefore he wouldn't have been there to become Apprentice Xehanort and also there would have been no Ansem and Xemnas. Or does this fall into one of the two time travel theories: * If you return back in time to tell your grandfather not to go where he would meet your grandmother, and they would never meet - theoretically you would cease to exist. BUT as you have existed once, how can you go back in time and tell your gramps NOT to go there? Therefore you basically create a parallel universe! * The second theory suggests that even if you travel back in time to prevent, say a window from being broken, some other event would break it. The theory says that everything is laid out in a straight and preset universe and even going back in time does not change anything because the outcome is set and we can only move towards one final destination. -> This also sounds familiar, right? Destiny cannot be changed is one of the Time-Nort rules, right? What do you think? Will the heroes in III defeat Young Xehanort and therefore end all the north? And how would this affect Ven as Vanitas would never have been born? Aqua and Terra and Eraqus who would have has their happily ever after in the LoD? Sora and Riku who never would have set out to save the world? Kairi who never would have left Radiant Garden? NAmine and Roxas who never would have been born? Same for Xion. No Heartless and Nobodies and Dreameaters. No darkness would have threatened the worlds and Mickey and Donald and Goofy would never have left their Castle... Now that would be one shitty ending for KHIII, eh?

I think it looks like it was folded up in the neck-part of the Armor. Like they can unfold it when they want to look cool but store it when traveling. It's armor. And it does look like it pops out of some pocket back there. Like those Jackets where a hood is curled up and hidden in the collar, know what I mean? Anyway, I don't think it makes a difference because a FULL-BODY armor that is stored inside a 1 foot sized device on the shoulder and activates and magically envelopes the whole body, is not realistic in the first place. PLUS: It makes this epic cape sound, so I love it haha.

Oh no you're perfectly right! I agree. For the anthem, it's just one of these things that just happened to be chosen back then and it doesn't really need to be changed. Austria for example had this huge controversy because they changed their Anthem. this anthem praised the country's great sons (as in people but they just used sons as a common plural for all people) but then they changed it to include daughters as well. This is just stupid to me because it was meant in the sense of 'children' back then. So they had this recent controversy because some people would not sing the new version, no one knows the lyrics anymore and the government made the new version mandatory. You see, the people who came up with the original version are dishonored by the new one because they didn't mean to be offensive towards women but it was just not common to genderize things back then and sons meant 'everyone who did great things'. That's just stupid to change that. They had better look at the historical context there. I dunno if that's true, though, got that from history class.

I think it's great! They show that they care about that inconsistency and they opened up a whole new possibility to view the KH series: Armor has a cape that can be used at will or stowed away while traveling. That also explains the Capes appearing in KHII Secret movies and BbS opening. And maybe even the Keyblades can store the keychains for smoother battling The only thing inconsistent remains is Ven becoming right-handed after KHII (made more sense for the dual wielding theory) and his Keyblade changing shape with the blade teeth facing the other way.

I think they want to include all worlds with the 7 princesses. So far we have Daybreak Town Dwarf Woodlands - Snow White Agrabah - Jasmine Wonderland - Alice Olympus Coliseum but they also had some data for Beasts Castle - Belle Enchanted Dominion - Aurora Castle of Dreams - Cinderella So I think they might include Radiant Garden - Kairi and for the story Destiny Islands - Xehanort

Sorry if it came across that way. I did not mean to offend you and I did not mean to say you offended nations. I was just saying that generally people (not just you) think that the US anthem has pointless violence in it but the history of the anthem (and the flag) do explain where this comes from. I DO agree that some of our methods, like having kids do the pledge of allegiance every morning, our plain indoctrinating and I totally agree that the anthem is too violent for some kids - why? because they are too small to understand the complicated outcomes of the war of 1812, and some historical topics in general. Sorry, I repeat that I did not mean to blame you for anything. I just get very upset with this image people have of the US as a stupid, fat ignorant nation that recklessly invades other countries and territories. And while this is even TRUE to a certain extend, and really bad things happened in the past of this nation (Indian removals, slavery, annexations, wars, espionage etc.) the Nation is truly based on a concept of FREEDOM and PEACE, the opposites of what people think. If you read the founding documents, you'd be surprised by how tolerant and proactive the founding fathers were back then. History is a HUGE subject and I'm still a kid myself and cannot understand all of history, so I apologize for my own mistakes. For the 21st century: Yes, I do think it is important to spread good cheer. But here in the States we have zillions of songs doing just that [America the Beautiful, God Bless America etc] so I think it's important to KEEP those original songs in honor of the people back then. We can't just get rid of the constitution just because it is not written like people nowadays would, you see? The danger of people not knowing where they came from, and people not knowing their rights leads in others suppressing them. That's what happened in World War II. So I do believe that upholding connections to certain things is mandatory. [Here, the founding documents are as crucial to the country as the Bible] So sorry again for my heady tirade but I do believe history matters. And my sincerest apologies for offending you, I hope we can become friends nonetheless. That's not a bad thing, I guess?! Haha Sorry dude, didn't mean to be like that. Just spreading some US history.

And I'm terribly sorry if I offended you with that. It is just very important to me to point out that the historical backgrounds do matter. I have no problem with jokes or the like on these topics, but especially in humorous topics, these things MUST be handled with care. It is MOST important to understand the historical backgrounds and contexts before even just joking about it because these things - ignorance of history - have led up to major hustle and mayhem in the 20th century! And I'm NOT saying this discussion is of ANY importance to world history or political developments but I just want to raise awareness that there is more to most things and some answers are hidden in the history of these texts.

There's been some BAD handling of old-time media by contemplate companies, like Disney shutting down their 2D department, or their pretending Song of the South never happened. Or them trying to get rid of classic fairy tale stories (Frozen, Maleficent) It's OK to have media that is offensive because it FEATURES the "slave" the "weak woman" or the "naive prince" because that;s how people thought back in times these tropes result in. While it's important to draw a line that says EQUALITY AND FREEDOM are important - slavery IS wrong! These are UNIVERSAL truths but people BACK THEN didn't think so. So there's nothing wrong with portraying people who thought like that back in their original contexts. It does not contradict the fact that certain things were wrong and redefined in history's course. Like there's nothing wrong with portraying a world where the people thought the Earth was a disc. People didn't always know it's a sphere. we KNOW it is now, but back then they didn't. So why should we restrict our media to display ANY views that convey that as long as it is within the right CONTEXT! See where I'm getting at? No, I'm not offended. I just wanted to point out that it IS important to know where things come from before I complain. Even if it is a joke. Because It helps to understand the backgrounds and reasons of people back then.

Oh come on, that IS disrespectful. You have to tak into account these anthems are OLD and you have to look at them within their historical context. America's anthem is based on a text that was authored during the war of 1812. Basically it describes the joy Americans felt when they saw that their flag (star spangled banner) was still waving after an important fort was under attack. Hence, it was waiving despite rockets and bombs attacking the, then young, nation. You see, it has nothing to do with the US bombarding other nations! I'm not going into detail here but please, do consider that there is more to the origins of these anthems than meets the eye. I don't know which country you are from, but please be respectful toward other nations. Don't get me wrong, I do not at all approve of some US interventions lately but the nation's birth truly is an avant-garde example of freedom and enlightenment that resulted in many European nation copying them (for the good). Take this from a US history honors student. It took me so long to type this, I missed you are from Australia. Sorry about that. Oh COME ON! The world nowadays is more like that than just America. Ever heard of globalization? Anyway, I think a CLASSIC anthem is great, because most people and companies in modern times tend to get rid of the old and replace it with new. I think it's GREAT they do not replace the anthem or the constitution with creations that seem more appropriate for modern times. That's what history is there for: EDUCATE people where they came from, how things led up to where we/ state of affairs are now and also WHY and HOW things worked back then. If we replaced all OLD things, we would be lost! Also, I do not see anything wrong with offensive media, as long as it is handled in the right context and does not offend anyone personally or infringe freedom.

New Aspect ration in 2.5 and 2.5's perfection
MarkXIIII replied to MarkXIIII's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
I doubt 1.5 and 2.5 delayed III by much. I think a DDD HD ReMIX would delay III even more and that's what's most likely gonna happen. And I'm not even mentioning the efforts they put in CHI. Seriously, I'd rather not have another game until KHIII. The ReMIXes were a great idea but they better stick to the plan now. -
Hey guys, I've been following all the news about the changes in 2.5 ReMIX and I have to say it looks like this time Square outdid themselves. Not only did they go all the way and remaster everything in HD, but they also made some more great changes: * They translated everything! Even the previously Japanese text in the Secret Movies * They dubbed everything! They fully voiced the new scenes in English! * They included capes to make the series consistent! And finally, what I was most afraid of, they handled the KHII Final Mix Secret movies with care: the original movies were in a 4:3 aspect ratio. As I love 16:9, I was hoping a full HD version existed of the Sunset Horizon adn Birth by Sleep movies, as most of the stretched or cropped versions on the web look way off. Here's the final result: Square apparently remastered the movie scene by scene to achieve a perfect movie in tghe new Ratio. Apparently they opened up the ratio to fit it to 16:9 but they also used some zoom and strech to make the characters look more realistic. Anyway, the result is perfect and worthy of an HD Final Mix: STRECH: While in the 4:3 ratio some characters, most of all Xehanort, look kind of distorted, the new stretch is used to make the characters look more realistic. They could have stretched the 4:3 fully without too much distortion but they just wanted to make them proportional again. (Xehanort; also in Mickey and Ven scenes) ZOOM: The new video is slightly zoomed in BUT only in some scenes. It seems the ration the video was created in is not fully 16:9 but they handled this with care. (Mickey Scene and Ven Scene) OPENED UP SIDES: the sides of the video was opened up to show more info. the source material clearly is wider than 4:3 and this opens up a new perspective with landscapes and details we have not seen. (clearly visible in the Xehanort scene) As can be seen in the Xehanort scene, they must have gone through the movie scene by scene because the Xehanort scene uses stretch and opening but no zoom to ensure to have a most authentic presentation. RESULT: Square did handle these techniques with care to achieve a stunning result. With the use of streching the video to make characters look right, zoom to fit the video to the screen and opening up the sides to accomodate the new ratio. In sum, we lose a tiny bit of material in hight but only in some scenes and what we gain in width is much more than what is cropped off. Seems they finally made something right by treating the source material respectfully. What more proof is needed until people recognize HD 1.5 and 2.5 are Square's most perfect remasters and they truly unite KH on one console in the games' best and most complete versions. Well done!

KH2 A scatt red dream is like a far off memory
MarkXIIII replied to Skhyatze's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
What Simba face?? I'm sure it wasn't there in the Original American version. As they have several versions of those videos (like the Sunset horizons vid with English text) I hope theys use the correct one for the American release. Also, I hope they come up with a new expanded ratio version for the secret endings...
