  1. Well this is kind of a shame. I had quit the game back in 2017 I believe it was out of anger when I lost my level 100 save trying to install an update but have just been feeling some motivation to play again. Unfortunately when I looked it up on my phone only Dark Road came up. That's what I get I suppose.
  2. I can not see him in that image at all but here is some fun trivia about Sora's conceptualization; one of his earliest designs was a feline hybrid with a keyblade that was more of a chainsaw and he was originally intended as a supporting character. As I remember reading it, Mickey and Donald were the top choices for the protagonist but the developers could not come to a decision between them so felt the best solution was neither in favor of an original character. Therefor our guy was promoted.
  3. Aren't all three of those labels the same thing? Marriam-Webster's definition of a protagonist is: "an important person who is involved in a competition, conflict, or cause" or "a Principal character". Marriam-Webster definition of Principal: "most important, consequential, or influential" On a larger scale, all three are supporting protagonists to Sora, and in that regard Ventus' connection to Sora does give him an edge but if we're going to be exclusive to BBS all three roles had equal principal. Ventus could have been the controllable character in the intro because he had a familiar face since he's the source of Roxas' appearance and is the character we meet first as he is certainly the most complex of them. That's the reason he is my favorite. I don't believe we even meet the other two prior to the playable intro so it would have been awkward to have us suddenly controlling them.
  4. I understand that the argument here pertains to BBS specifically, obviously Sora is the lead protagonist of the series as a whole but I was examining how their roles in BBS set up the series for Sora and Co as it's the reason for BBS's significance, their significance. Again, Ventus might be the center peice of BBS but all three are lead roles.
  5. I noticed all these points as well and while valid, I feel Terra is of equal significance to Ventus as he is the foundation of Sora's conflicts with all of Xehanort's forms (Ansam SOD, Xenmas and the complete Xehanort and his younger version etc.) and if I understand correctly, the ultimate source of Sora's and Riku's powers. Right? Terra bequeathed Riku as a child and Sora had intercepted his calling until he himself was chosen by the Keyblade in Hallow Bastian? At the very least he's the source of Riku's power. Aqua, while having a bit less of a direct impact on the overall series plot is something of a guardian character who ultimately assembled the 7 guardians of light by saving Kairi and giving her the pendent that transported her to Destiny Island and by sacrificing herself for Terra-Nort and Riku (saving Terra-Nort also had some obviously terrible consequences but it had to be done for Terra's sake). She's essentially the guardian of the guardians. Ventus might have been the center peice but ultimately, all three of them were puzzles pieces that set up the series.
  6. I just finished watching this film for the first time and I see massive potential in the concept of the magic being extinguished by the Abuela's misguided thirst for the protection of the magic creating and spreading stress, self-doubt and conformity throughout the Madrigal family. It's the perfect recipe for Unversed and the darkness that draws villains such as the organization and Maleficent and Pete (where the heck even are Maleficent and Pete? We didn't defeat them in KHII). Meeting Sora, someone who isn't a Modrigal, someone from another world who possesses a gift could add to Maribel's conflict about not having one and Bruno is even a possible character of interest for the foretellers who were hinted to possibly be the next big adversaries now that Xehanort has been defeated once and for all. The one thing about the film that bugged me was that we don't get an exact explanation as to the reason Mirabel was not given a gift but KH lore could fill that in. There is a subtle suggestion that she is a manifestation of the miracle so perhaps she could be a guardian of light or a princess of heart.
  7. The remnants of the Jungle Book world that was scrapped from BBS despite somewhat at least in Ven's version appeared to share base graphics with a section of Deep Jungle look fantastic. (I have had this video in my Kingdom Hearts playlist for a while and just now noticed that it's Daniel's! Nice work dude!) It would have been a great world for DDD as well, it's a favorite of mine but I feel it needed a few more worlds. I would love for it to be revived in a future game.
  8. Terra went an entire decade without being able to do so despite his Lingering Will, therefore he did require a level of enabling from Sora and the other wayfinders however I felt all three of the wayfinders' rescues were rushed and anti-climactic. The whole thing is a bit of a mess. Riku having been the lynchpin in Terra's rescue at the very least would have tracked better with the Lingering Will's chastising Sora for not being his chosen one (secret boss in KHII) as would Mickey having been the one to rescue Aqua with his guilt for having left her in the Realm of Darkness but on the other hand Sora having conducted both rescues on some level were consistent with Coded setting him up as the one who needed to rescue them all. I understand that Sora is meant to be the main hero but I would have preferred more of the team effort Riku's being Terra's chosen one and Mickey's guilt over Aqua seemed to set-up. Having Sora do all of it made it feel muddled and again rushed which reduced some of the strength of the individual predicaments. I.e Sora spent the entire game searching for how to reclaim his lost powers and gain the power of awakening. Ven: "Dude, just call it." Sora: "Oh ok." So when he released Kairi's heart to revive her he created all sorts of chaos via becoming a heartless and Roxas but...uh...ok? That felt like a simple concept to spend an entire game on, essentially several entire games on but sure I guess? One thing in particular that disappointed me was that there was no interaction between Aqua and Mickey after her rescue regardless of his role in it, no relief or apologies from him to address his guilt over her predicament as though it had just vanished. I feel that was inconsistent. I think an entire game devoted to rescuing the Wayfinders with involvement from Sora (Ven), Riku (Terra) and Mickey (Aqua) would have been stronger especially considering there is an entire game devoted to the backstories of their predicaments.
  9. 1. That whole thing is a bit convoluted and my understanding is vague at best but if I am at all correct, Roxas contracted some of Sora's memories, specifically those of Kairi and through him they somehow settled inside of a doll or was it another person? In either case, she therefore didn't need Sora's memories to exist as she had existed without them at some point before I believe. Maybe? I had thought she was a manifestation of those memories hence her facial resemblance to Kairi but I've been watching this Youtuber who did a KHIII prep playthrough/watchthrough of the entire Story So Far series (excellent series, this guy I believe is a professional video game animator, he knows what he's doing and is very entertaining) and am just finishing the Days portion which has been a huge memory refresher. I haven't had anything to do with Days since I watched the movie in 2.5. Granted I am still a little lost as to how Sora's memories got involved in Xion's creation as it doesn't seem as though the organization intentionally pursued them but I am getting more of an accurate gist at least. I think. 2. Namine was used to control Sora's memories whereas Xion was created as a fail safe should the organization lose Roxas, as only a Keyblade wielder could collect hearts. Namine can't use a Keyblade that we are currently aware of therefore she couldn't have served the same purpose Xion did and was otherwise occupied manipulating Sora. 3. See 2 above. Plus this: The Keyblade is the most powerful tool in the universe and again was necessary for the organization to collect hearts. Pre-BBS, Sora, Riku and Mickey were the only wielders still around but Sora was the one creating a spectacle of it and being an amature despite his impressive feats he was the most manipulatable somewhat similar to Terra.
  10. II for me, no brainer. The plot, tie-ins to earlier installments, and battle mechanics (i.e drive forms) are the best developed and most cohesive. Furthermore, It has the most unique uses of the Disney concepts vs. the other two that maintain the main plot points via having Pete or the organization delegate or manipulate the Disney characters/villains to get their heartlesses or Nobodies and the second visits added originality as well as brought substance to Sora's relationships with the characters. The latter is something I'd love IV to resume. The Organization was a fantastic original addition to the villian roster and I feel II best capitalized on their depth as incomplete beings who were taken advantage of, who trusted a leader who is just using them as tools for his own agenda to give them their completion and angry at one of their own who betrayed them. The interactions this created between them and Sora were powerful and meaningful. I (one) was good in some ways but II improved on the format and then III I felt was a step backwards in a lot of ways.
  11. I'm, however still sorry to have not been here, it was after 2am here so I was asleep.
  12. I see, well to my knowledge KH13 (forum) mods don't have moderation abilities here.
  13. Why is 'KH13 Moderator' tagged here? The KH13 mod team exclusively mods the forums. If the issue is here as it seemed to appear it's the Discord Moderators that you need.
  14. Ever since KH3 speculation I've been most longing for Treasure Planet and Atlantis in particular but I'd also love to see Emperor's New Groove with the original Kingdom Of the Sun Yzma and Zootopia. Silver's double agent thing in Treasure Planet would be a unique villain plot in the KH-verse and the Crystals in Atlantis could be related to the original light and/or the powers of the keyblades. KOTS Yzma's desire to destroy the sun to reclaim her beauty and the night howlers in Zootopia would be a bitchin' darkness tie-in with the KH-verse. Moana also has some fantastic material. The concept of an island/land mass having a heart speaks for itself. After the flower in Tangled was ignored which pissed me off I don't trust them to use any of this potential but it's there begging to be used.
  15. Which console version of Melody of Memory will you purchase?
  16. What I meant by "the film's plot was so misused" is that it had the potential for a brilliant incorporation into the main plot but were utterly lazy with it and yes, Swiss-cheesing it was another part of that. For example, the flower could have been made of one of the last drops of light that was fought over in the Keyblade War or because Mother Gothal hid it to keep it to herself, it's a fragment that was never known of. Mother Gothal being centuries old could have been alive for the KW and served the organization with her intel. They did vaguely establish that Rapunzel had a connection to the 7 hearts but didn't follow through with it. One of quite a few holes Instead, the entire goal of the world was just to get Rapunzel to the festival to see the lanterns which had no significance whatsoever to the main plot, wasn't something Sora and Co. really needed to be there to assist with, other than defeat Mother Gothal they did nothing but observe the film plot and I wasn't clear on what Marluxia was doing there. The satchel in the boat was just one of the Swiss-cheese holes. There was also how Sora suddenly knew that Rapunzel had found out that she was the lost princess but was surprised to hear her call Flynn by his birth name, Eugene. There also seemed to be no purpose to Marluxia putting the trio to sleep. It hindered absolutely nothing as I recall and it made no sense that shaking and yelling failed to lift the spell but a horse lick succeeded. I concur with you about the thugs being removed. That created the biggest of the holes as in two instances their roles seem to have been given to thin air. 1 . Flynn being set up to appear to be ditching Rapunzel with the crown. 2 . Mother Gothel using her film line: "Let's go quick before they come to". Even considering that most players have seen the film, this was horribly in-cohesive and senseless.
  17. I played the GBA and I found it difficult at times to see where I was aiming during a battle particularly when there were multiple foes as in a random heartless battle so I while I'm not a fan of this installment at all I disagree that it's better on GBA. I was a bit more comfortable with it on PS3 in 1.5.
  18. As has already been stated here multiple times the film did quite poorly. From the sound of it, it might possibly be Disney's greatest failure. It has a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 9% which is the lowest rating I've seen since The Host with a critic statement: "A would-be franchise-starter that will anger fans of the source material and leave newcomers befuddled, Artemis Fowl is frustratingly flightless." Critics also called it not entertaining enough and the execution poor. Peter Debruge of Variety said the film feels "tortuously long at just 93 minutes" and that "we get a movie with a loosely defined hero, an even vaguer villain and a whole lot of things flying at the screen, in service of one of those endings that suggests we've just watched the origin story for a character we'll never hear from again." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artemis_Fowl_(film) I'm not familiar with this franchise myself, I recall roughly in 6th grade trying to read the first book but failed to get into it and while my family watched the film over the weekend, I admit I got distracted with a Pokemon fan game I was playing for a good chunk of it. I did find what I did catch interesting enough to consider giving the books another go. I did somewhat want to watch the film again as well just to get a better idea of the plot but now I'm wondering if that's possible. I can safely assess, however, that with this terrible reception, there is no chance KH will touch it.
  19. Yes since the issue has been resolved I'm outta here, I don't even use this channel and have notifications turned off.
  20. I'm honestly not sure if there is a ping for the team as a whole.
  21. The specific members of the forum moderation team are taggable such as myself and Wakeless, they are listed on the right.
  22. Not all the staff here are involved with forum moderation.
  23. Great. In the future @Inçendyne you should tag members of the KH13 forum moderation team for an issue like this, which I am among.
