So someone asked my math teacher if we would ever use what we are learning and she said "no" and I said "so why are we learning it?" and she didn't answer...
It's because you build other stuff off of it. Yeah, you may not ever use that exact math ever again, but you do keep using the things you learn that are built upon those fundamental pieces.
