This where I come in: Shadow represents the Past, Sonic represents the Present, and Silver represents the Future. Shadow released Mephiles and that's where Mephiles came to in the story. After meeting Silver, Shadow thought that it would stop him in the present if he sealed him. It didn't...It created a Time Paradox revolving around him releasing and sealing Mephiles. Then Sonic's story, Elise is the holder of the Iblis, the other part of Mephiles. Since he couldn't get close to Elise, he tried to kill Sonic through Silver, which didn't work. That's when he killed Sonic in the last story. Then Silver's story, although I am still trying to wrap my head around this one, this is what I got. At that time, Mephiles wasn't apart of that timeline, so the Iblis was the only one ruining the world. It could've been also that the Iblis was too enraged to control. That's why he needed to form with the Iblis at a weak state. Since they didn't know about Mephiles being the trigger, they tried to stop the Iblis in their time by trying to seal him in another Dimension. So Silver's story is kind of a Sideline story. But this is what it all comes down to: A Time Paradox that leads to one fate...The End of Time....And also, sorry dude, but I feel it's both with Sega and Fans of why this game came out horrible to most....The fans want Sonic Adventure 3 so badly, it wouldn't surprise me that it's them to that made the game the way it is...I mean, come on! They have control over SEGA!!!! Also about Elise...Sonic story was about protecting Elise, if anybody says that she was in the way misses the main objective of his story....
