And there's Square Enix' official Sora full-size statues they put on display at the E3 events in 2006. Anyone remember these mind-blowing creations? I think they would perfectly fit in any corner of Disneyland! I wonder what happened to these things? Do you think we will see them again? What about a KHIII Version? Edit: The KH1 Sora was at some other event, you can see Bbs Artwork on the right. (Tokyo Game Show´?)
-
Here are some more pics of the Characters in Disneland: It seems Sora's costume is not finished as the keychain is missing and the training for the actors is not the best as they hold the keyblade wrong. Anyway, these versions of the costumes do not seem as creepy. Aome friends of mine told me they met Sora at the Halloween party and parade at Disneyland, CA in 2005 in his KH1 attire - they told me that Sora looked better than the Japanes costume and the Keychain was there. Anyone got pics of the US Sora? And here are some pics of the Recoded sculpture at TokyoDisneyLand and a poster of the title's swell artwork. Does anyone know if that KH exhibition hall is still open at TokyoDisney? And is that statue still there? I sure hope so because it looks awesome! (I only would love some matted structure on it because it feels a bit too shiny/plasticy)
-
Actually, I think they put a lot of effort into the detail. Sure, they would have to improve the facial expression and change the all too Disney-y felt clothing to leathor or fabric ones closer to the structure seen in the (now) HD material but hey, you can actually meet Sora!!!!!!!!!! And I think the skin parts are amazing! Nearly looks like CG. Anyway, I wondered for a long time if they would go for full-costume (mickey, donald...) or only dress-wearing actors (such as the princesses) and I must say if they only put just a little more effort in the facial parts it would look awesome! I'd love to see if other characters looked just as awesome! And, as stated above, I think Vanitas (masked) would look the most awesome!!! Yeah, defintiely! Seeing more KH costume would be so awesome! I'll be Roxas then - let's hit Disney Halloween, huh? hahaha

Sora's color scheme
TheRoxxiii replied to Raziel's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
Yeah, your're right. You convinced me. I just hope They won't change Sora's other physical appearance. LAst time he got new (major clothes) theay made Sora older - which was pure logic due to the story. I fear they might make Sora older à la Noctis and Riku to make him look cooler, tougher and more appealing to the mid 20 generation. I just really like Sora's 15 year old form and I think it gt way too less screen time (actually only KH II) And I still hope their "mature Sora's new journey" equals "15 y.o. Sora continues his journey right away (like one day after DDD) and finally kills Xehanort for good. The clothes are nor overly important, you see? -
Hey guys. I did some research on the inclusion of the Kingdom Hearts Series in Disney Parks and media. (Besides the thousands of cosplayers and kids playing with their KH action figures in the Parks, hehe) Feel free to read, correct and/or extend my short list if you would like or just skip to the actual topic below. The list is based on what I found online, some friends told me (because they actually were there) or on actual pictures. JAPAN: - Apparently, Sory Donald and Goofy (in KH duds) are available at the Japanese Disneyland as rare character encounters since the release of the game. (Japan has more of the "rare" encounters like Scrooge McDuck or Mowgli) - Special Release or promotion events are held constantly at Disneyland areas (smaller ones according to what I found online) - At the Re:coded relase party, a huge Kingdom Hearts statue of the main characters was placed at a public Disneyland area (not sure if it is still there but you can find pictures of the great sculpture in the archives of this site) - Basically all Kingdom Hearts merchandise is available at nearly all Disneyland shops. - Sea Salt ice cream is sold at Disney Tokyo Sea Park (Mr Nomura's original reference for the game) though not associated with KH in a specific way (?) NORTH AMERICA: - In the United States, Sora appeared in his KH I attire at some "Not so scary" Halloween parades and events in Disneyland and Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World around the first NA release of KH 1. - The Japanese themed corner at Epcot sells Japanese import merchandise such as Play and static arts and soundtracks. - The Original Soundtracks and Piano Collections are available at Disney Parks and recreation area gift shops - Some shops started selling the official KH plushies (currently Meow-Wow and Shadow, maybe Dusk and Flood in the future?) - DisneyStore sells the actual games. -The NA pre-release Event for HD1.5 ReMIX was held at Downtown Disney, CA. -KH collective Pins - rare but they exist EUROPE: - A friend of mine found a heart cut in the bark of a palm tree near the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Disneyland Paris that said "Sora + Kairi" [Although this might be the work of an obsessed fan?] - The KH-styled Heart and Crown styled pattern appears repeatedly in both EuroDisney parks. - In the Walt Disney Studios Park, posters of KH 1, KH 2 and KH DDD have been seen. That's all the references I could find, if you encountered anything KH at the parks, please add. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Anyway, back to the real topic: As KHIII is getting bigger and coming closer, do you think Disney will actually include more of KH in their park. Now that NA teams are more and more involved in the project andpromotion, I wouldn't be surprised if they in fact started selling KH shaped Sea salt ice cream. Although we won't see an actual Kingdom Hearts Ride, I've nevertheless come up with a small list of (possible) things I'd love to see at Disney parks: - Character meet and greets (Vanitas would be awesome!!!) - KH music and Art gallery (not very possible but I would like a KH gallery similar to the Art galleries at Disney Village, Paris - More merchandise being sold - More KH Pins - Organization coats available for sale next to Peter Pan and Princess costumes - Keyblades available for purchase - Aqua's (Eraqus') Keyblade lying at a tropical beach themed area (KHIII Trailer reference, I'm sure many would notice that) - heartless, nobody, dusk characters as suited characters and figurined across the parks around halloween - some of the many signposts pointing towards KH destinations - wayfinders and lucky charms as well as paopu fruits as "Hidden KH" eastereggs, mostly in tropical or grass areas - more KH sculptures like to one in Japan. They would fit perfectly in the many hotels, shops, restaurants. - atl least small KH themed spots ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ______ ___ ___ and at last two ideas I recently had, although I bet they won't ever become reality: - KH Gummi Ship ride: "Hop into a gummi ship and let chip and dale guide you through the lanes between the many worlds of the KH universe. Hold on tight for a super-sonic ride and whitness the ancient keyblade war reawakened as brave Keyblade wielders clash with (bad-ass) threatening villains." <- mock descrition I would love to read in a Park map. - Seeing all the characters as animatronics would be so great, I would be scared of Xehanort in real life, though... - Destiny Islands "Secret Place Restaurant": Opening at sunset , this beautiful and luxurious restaurand offers tropical cuisine with a broad range of caribbean fish dishes and seafood to exotic desserts and coctails. Relax at a memorable dinner with your whole family while listening to the waves rolling in in this beach themed restaurand or book a special table for two for the ultimate sun-down to moonlight experience in the exclusive 'Secret Place' Suite or Pier Diné Table." Sound cheesy but I had the idea of a restaurand opening near the Little mermaid Attraction in New Fantasyland. Extending the tropical beach area of the Little Mermaid you enter the restaurant (a stone builing half covered by plans, palm trees and sand) through a shack door and you fin yourself entering a high-priced luxurious restaurant. The tables are on smaller islands connected by bridges and jetties and real water is coming in from the Little Mermaid area. a second floor offers a quiet view over the beach area and can be booked a s an exclusive event area. The walls feature KH oil paintings and the exclusive area has the stone paitings of the secret place. The lighting is pretty much daylight or artificial moonlight after iot gets dark. A second entry is through the basement through the secret door eith the keywhole and is connected to an undersea Aquarium. You pass though the aquarium and you can see up through the beach of the little mermaid basins and you can exit towards the snow white attraction and beasts castle or go directly to the little marmaid landing area. And of course they offer lobster, clams, all sorts of fish, mushroomy meals, and the paopu cocktail for two. Just an idea... ___________________________________________________________________________________ Finally at the end of my novel, thanks for reading if you made it this far. I'll include a picture of Sora at Disneyland which actually is a great and detailed costume and I definitely could see more KH at the parks. Feel free to post your own Ideas! © Disney / Square Enix , No infringement intedned in any way. Upload didn't work: Here it comes:

KHBbS Isn't bbs a bit too dark for kh?
TheRoxxiii replied to Sorual's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Maybe I am. And to be honest Disney doesn't even consider it a fully fledged Disney title and you hardly ever find any references to KH on Disney properties (homepage, youtube, Disneyland - but still they are there) And yet it does feel so sophisticated! - it's definitely not a G rated genre as other "Kids and Family" movies and games are - the story is so much more developed and thought through - It has the best gameplay and constant graphics I have seen so far (better facial expressions than ff etc. and the 2D disney adaption is great) - Disney usually does stand for great and memorabe experiences (more or less / on and off) - Square is a top notch developer for games and graphics And yet they could put more effort in it. I think a little bit more US and Japan cooperation could help. Right now it feels too much like "waiting for Japan to finish and the we start localizing". Maybe they can expan their co-op and marketing in the future like Game freak / Pokemon just did. But maybe the economic "let's save some money" attitude that makes all products post 2005 feel cheesy is just a product of the time... Anyway KH ist still great! And as KHIII has grown so huge they are sure to put a lot of effort and work in it. -
Sorry, man. I didn't mean to rant too much. To be honest it's been a while since I played most of the games except 1.5 ReMIX (KH1 actually) and what really bugs me is this: Playing KH 1 is super nostalgic and great. It feels complete and perfect. But as more and more sequels are considered in terms of story KH 1 feels soo simple and like a mere draft. It's like a story draft you like but what should have been sequels turn out to be rewritten forms of the draft. That's why I said that only KH 1 and KH 2 and BbS (to a certain extend) have that feel of completion and fully fledged story. All other titles are fine on their own but I think their connection to the complete titles destroys their completion and glory. At least that's my opinion because I really love KH 1 and KH 2 as they are and I don't think they need further revision after their Final Mix upgrades. And I fear that their nostalgic feel they have is lessened by the other titles. It could be I am just thinking too much and I better replay the games once more. - Strangely enough each time playing a game it feels all right or complete just in combination it's awkward (and I don't like DDD because of the connection of all the elements and storylines. And I am anxious KH III will be similar just with awesome graphics) But No offense, I do respect MR Nomura, It may be I just have to get used to his witty storytelling.
-
Yeah, you are probably right. Sorry for complaining too much. I just wanted to say that Roxas was more mysterious and "dark" compared to the cheerful personality of Sora. I better go and do my homework by replaying the games once more

Sora's color scheme
TheRoxxiii replied to Raziel's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
Nomura is notoriously changing his mind. And tell me one reason WHY Sora should get any new clothes? And Disney consumerism and Nomura logic (like if Sora gets a new suit he will have to reset all his abilities.) IT would be so cool if you actually started at LV 100 (going towards 200 liek in chi) with all magic and you just learned additional new magic spell and 4th grade spells? -
Roxas originally a mysterious dark version of sora, days made him a mere puppet for xehanort and even just 1/2 due to Xion. Sora in DDD was yopunger than in KHII which is weird and he fell to the darkness which is crazy because he is stronger than in KHI and he resisted Ansem back then. Xemnas was degraded to just another Xehanort offspring and cconglomerate Terranort nobody. Thanks to Nomura's Xehanort inclusion almost every character lost their identity and became either weak or vessel. After KHII I was really curious about ORg XIII and Roxas' background. Days degraded him to a crybaby that was just another way for xehanort to open KH. Xion was another useless character and she even degraded Roxas further by being a buckout plan for the ORg. After DDD I couldn't care less about any Org. because the feel of A (like in one) org. of dark schemers is gone and substituted by several tries of merely gathering 13 people for xehanort vessels. Org XIII was unique many different individuals. Yeah, wanna know more New Org.? - Meh, 13 Xehanorts? Don't care ... It's like with a favorite movie. You love it for personal reasons and because it is the way it is. Then the director comes up with a sequel that tells you the original is inferior and just an illusion and all with that "You fool, I'm the mastermind you suckers, I'll tell you what you have to think of movie 1" and then they make lots of sequels in the new fashion and everyone forgets what the original was like. Just try reshooting a sequel to casablanca which results in telling everyone the original was just a dream and you have to start over telling the whole story in a different way.... I'm sure Nomura and Lasseter cooperated in Cars2!

Well according to nomura to Sora riku comes first in a gay-like relationship. Kairi's his bff and don and goofy last. But thanks to Disney and Western Ausdiences the games get tailored for it should be Kairi and Sora's love relationship. Riku's his bro and dona nd goofy are best buds. Works fine

Atlantica should never be in another KH game!
TheRoxxiii replied to KingdomHearts123456's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Fool. DDD music looped even more! -
I'm sick of nomura's IDEAS! Keeps messing with already existing facts! Like he ruined sora in DDD, Xemnas in BbS, Roxas in Days... Who's next? Kairi- nooooooooooooooooooooooo

Sora's color scheme
TheRoxxiii replied to Raziel's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
I'd rather keep the current one. Or some enhancements to the existing KHII version. IF they get rid of KHII costume, they get rid of the drive powers, remember? And what reason is there to change his clothes? - Prepare for another irrational nomura backstory - I'm sure there's another keyblade wielder who rips sora's pants or so! What I'm trying to say: Nomura is ruinig ther series with his over the top adding of characters and stories. The Eiffel Twoer would not be so beautiful if the kept repainting it and they added another story each year. -> Equals loss of iconic shape and even existing lovers might hate it if they mess with it. I hope when they say "Mature sora goes on a new adventure" means "15 year old sora wanders on with donald and goofy in KHII garbs" and not "18 year old sora gets new ff fancy suit and teams up with that ffxv guy because nomura loves ff more than kh anyway" Remeber, we love the classic Disney group becase they are more or less the same sonce 1928! If Walt had messed with their attire and attitude so much as Nomura keeps changing KH they would have disapperaed into oblivion by now... -
Everything's about riku. Even hashimoto thinks Riku's the main character. HE IS`NOT! IT'S SORA!!! And KHIII should be about sora only! Sora donald and Goofy! Even Kairi is more important because she's a princess and Sora's beloved. Riku's just number 4 after Sora, Don+Goof and Kairi.
-
Just use your imagination. I loved to good old times when nomura still left some thinking to the fans. Now he seems to get his screenplays off fandom service pages and ghibli movies. I have my OWN theory but I won't tell. I would like to encourage you to think of your own. BUT BEWARE: Nomura is sure to f*ck up your theory when he feels like telling another crazy story involving the real parents. Like Sora being Xehanort and Darth vader's child. ~ I am your father., I'm sure Disney is happy to inclde more of theor "properties" in order to attract more customers.

KHBbS Isn't bbs a bit too dark for kh?
TheRoxxiii replied to Sorual's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
And, yes I only count the main entries because they are the only ones with story value. Sora's the protagonist. Let's stick to him, please. Journeying through I, sleeping in com, traveling again in II, traveling in III. The ONLY ways to extend the story is telling roxas' true story during Sora is sleeping and bbs as a background story. but no DDD or Xehanort crap! Modern KH feels like Nomura exchanged Sora with Xehanort as the main character and he keeps messing withthe story to rewrite everything for xehanort's new prominent role. I definitely wouldn't be surprised if Xehanort wins in III, kills everyone and reforms a new universe without disney and KH. and the new series is: "The new adventures of the once-again-all-new-young xehanort" or so. And he's traveling with marvel characters through ff worlds. aka assassins creed KH version. -
KHBbS Isn't bbs a bit too dark for kh?
TheRoxxiii replied to Sorual's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Well, considering I, com and II + bbs as an entity it works great. Very theatrical and dramatic and makes you excited for III. Add DDD and recoded and days and it's just another useless entry tellling another of nomura's stories he most likely thought of in an elevator or on the toilet. I mean, come on. This is KH and not a Ghibli flick! -
Features of the KH games that you never use.
TheRoxxiii replied to RoxSox's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Definitely Flowmotion, also fusing with spirits, shot lock, and manual drops. -
Atlantica should never be in another KH game!
TheRoxxiii replied to KingdomHearts123456's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Stop complaining! KH 1 is perfect as it is. everything was simpler and cleaner (hah, pun) before they reformed all storylines with that xehanort gramps weirdo. Anyway, you are just not good enough to survive in Atlantica. You do get new abilities you can use and you have to fight in 4 dimensions basically, which is hard but great. Neverland is the same while flying. KH II Atlantica was pointless but I do hope they have it return as fully-fledget world in III along with Treasure Planet, Black Cauldron, Tangled, TPatF, Frozen and PotC II and III. ALso 101 Dalmatians, Jungle book, Dumbo (although Dumbo's world is not very appealing), Bambi (kinda like pride lands), and other worlds. -
Everyone calls Sora the "Keyblade master"
TheRoxxiii replied to Sora96's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
This was before they dumped all plans to deliver a at least somewhat coherent consistent and logicalstory aftwr kHii. Nomura seems to include too much fandom service lately. Fans love axel, so let's bring him back as lea the keyblader. Come on! How about letting Walt Disney Animation studios do a cooperative movie? Glenn Keane and Nomira working on a 2D/3D hybrid kh movie wuld be heaven! -
Yes indeed. I meant the manual slip thing.Japanes version included a story line and beautiful artwork.English version was just bw and two pages only. But finally we can enjoy it as a digital versio. In fully translated andColorful download.(I only checked the US version, though. I'm not sure about the european versions but I suppose it's different in the ratings and legal policies parts only)Enjoy and support KH in HD and keep asking for an HD1.5 patch and 2.5ReMIX
-
And one last phrase for all those who don't see modern Disney consumerism: "song of the south" - too much trouble to set it in the right light and nothing we can turn ito a toddler-magnet. So they neglect and deny the film completely. (Like some tv series and movies that they release without ANY promotion as movie club exclusives - like they are afraid anyone would remember how great "blue logo disney" was / goof troop or so dear to the heart) And for all who hate home on the range: Surely it is convenient and cheaper to work on cg movies compared to animated 2d movies. But to be honest 2d animation is much more sophisticated. (Michelangelo is honored for one painting at a time, compare it to connecting a few 100,000 of paintings aka animation) I still think cg is lazy and money milking business that lacks heart. If you see animation as art and nor kiddies's entertainmet that is. (Therefore the recent movies lack quality)

Haha, seriously? Pokemon like critters you can't even get rid of?Xehanort telling you everything in the serious is not as it seems? Time travel and ONE villain in several versions at once?A second organization? (At first tey took us roxas and now the whole org??)More versions of the same characters as revived somebodys?Another handheld console to buy for more money?!More crappy graphics i a pixel and none hd world?Huge worlds you get lost in!?Empty worlds and no characters to interact, not even talk?Messed up storylines- two heroes meet two versions of inhabitants but the same version of enemies and yet there's only one twewy gang and two quasimodos??Strange music, too digital, no familiar melodies whatsoever, not one catchy tune either. An even uglier mickey mouse cg model?"Growing hearts"???????? (-> so sora has his, kairis, roxas, namine's, xion's and ven's hearts inside?????? 6!!!)Hard to control mechanics?Pointless 4th grade magic?Xehanort as some ghibli like 'i'll swallow your hearts' villain taking every bit of individuality?Sora having a tea party with phony glasses??????? WHY? The same keyblades for sora and riku?No patch for the glitches!!!Rushed release and marketing?Too many production errors in the special edition.Sorry I don't really see your point. But feel free to pick one of the above. Let's hope so. I would love to have the drives back and the magic bar.I really hate the cg avatars of the character's, and this is what makes me concerned. They should stick to the classic 2d ones. Why fix something if it isn't broken. And hence my comparison to new-era Disney's unnecessary 2D animation hating.
