Noah ------- Upon seeing his reinforcements arrive, Noah removed the cartridge from the plasma knife. Dalian had help now. "I'll leave this to you guys!" Noah shouted. With that, he took off, trusting his teammates with his back. So much for the element of surprise. However, the only thing on Noah's mind right now was for him and his team to stay alive. Don't die, Noah whispered. Noah darted for the nearest vent, dodging and dispatching any guard in his way. Though their cover was blown, he could still get the information amidst the ruckus.

Noah ----------- This didn't look good, Noah thought to himself. He was pretty much a nonbender on this platinum surface and here they were already facing a Red Lotus member - one who looked like he was the one in charge. He couldn't leave Dalian to fight this guy AND the guards. Noah took out the plasma knife he had gotten earlier. If he could just get an elemental cartridge, he would be able to fight near-evenly with the benders. Noah looked at the guards. They should have just what I need, Noah thought. As soon as Dalian was caught with a water whip, Noah shot for the guards, picking them off one by one with hand-to-hand combat. Evade, strike, dodge, strike, roll, strike. All basics of assassination he was taught at a young age. Luckily, a "flame" cartridge fell out of one of the guard's utility belts. "How convenient," Noah said as he picked it up. He placed the cartridge in a socket on the plasma knife. The knife lit up red plasma and extended to the length of a sword. Now, he could fight. Raiden --------- As Raiden was nearing the entrance, loud noises of screaming and destruction could be heard coming from where he had started. "Heh, Zale must be ******* it up back there," Raiden said proudly to himself. That was his partner for him: talented and ruthless, yet good natured. However, while Raiden was running, he heard something mildly disturbing over the intercom. "White Lotus members have infiltrated the base. East Terminal. Near the Emergency Room." Raiden stopped in his tracks. Seriously? He JUST came from there! Raiden probably wasn't going to make it there in time unless he used his powers. "Well, whatever," Raiden stretched and took a runners mark.

(Got caught up with financial aid and registration D:) Raiden --------- "Tch. Guess our conversation will have to wait," Raiden said. The alarm for a security breech rang off. What could have possibly could've infiltrated this base. No, the question should rather be, "WHO would be so crazy to do so?" No matters. Raiden pulled his swords out. "You go after the intruder. I will check outside," Raiden told Zale. With that, he rushed towards the gate. No one can get their hands on this technology. And he will guard it with his life. Noah --------- "I'm on it!" Noah shouted. He rolled to dodge an incoming fireball and retaliated with a sweep, splashing a giant blob of mud at the other guard. Noah then entrapped both guards into a hole he created in the ground. "All taken care of," Noah dusted his hands and regrouped with Dalian. "Let's do this," Noah said. However, as he said that, the alarms sounded as if there was already a security breech. Dammit, Noah thought. Whoever was already in there, was clearly causing a ruckus. This could blow their cover. Wait. No. He quickly recollected his thoughts. "We'll just use this to get what we need," Noah said. However, this operation had to be even faster. Noah found a plasma knife on the floor. Perhaps one of the guards dropped it earlier. Nevertheless, Noah made sure to pick it up. It could be useful in the future. "Let's do this."

(My apologies for my absence. I should be back in North America on Saturday.) With Master Darya and Aang's moves, the operation began. Noah looked at Master Dalian. "Let's go," Noah whispered. They only had a limited amount of time now to get in and out with the time starting at the immobilization of the outer wall security. Noah slid down the mountain with his earthbending, creating a path Dalian can slide down with ease, and sprinted towards the wall. Raiden --------- Raiden continued his pacing. "Yes. And this "Super Weapon" the higher-ups speak of will be a step further than even guns," Raiden continued. This world has become so diverse, bending had little to no meaning at all. When it all comes down to it, what will people like them do? Both Raiden and Zale were in the special forces because of their skill and talent in bending. Raiden shook his head of the thoughts. "Anyway there was something I need to show you... Er.. more like a secret project that passed testing recently..." Raiden trailed off. He heard something going on in the emergency room. Raiden took a quick glance at Zale and pointed to the door. He then put up 3 fingers. That meant in "3", we'll bust through the doors. "3" "2" "1"

Noah sensed the feeling of hostility towards Dalian. He wasn't used to leading such a diverse group of benders. "My apologies if I've said something offensive," Noah responded. He had to make this apology quick and apologize properly later - if there was a later. Noah looked towards everyone else. "We are all set. Once Master Aang makes his move, everyone else will follow suit," Noah looked towards Aang, who was already to start moving. "We'll follow your lead," Noah said. "Begin Operation" ------------------------- "Aren't I always so fidgety?" Raiden replied stepping outside the operation room. He started pacing back and forth. They were the only two "special benders" and masters currently in the base. "Well, you caught me. I am kind of anxious," Raiden stopped pacing. The two katanas on his back clanked against its holster. "About this.... technology we've researched. I've been thinking quite a lot about it," Raiden paused. "I just would like your thoughts on it."

"Astral Projection," Noah summarized. He'd only heard about it in stories of Jinora and her fight with the Avatar. However, he'd never seen it in person. Noah took a couple seconds to contemplate the idea. "Your body will be defenseless, which will be an issue. Splitting up in an area we no nothing about is rather dangerous," Noah replied. "Unless someone will guard your body while a couple of us infiltrate, we can't do it. However, if someone will volunteer, then you could make our search much easier," Noah replied to Master Aang. The Red Lotus ------------------ "Well, well, well," A long silver-haired figure walked inside the operation room Zale was inside. "The White Mage saves the day again huh?" The man teases. His codename was Raiden. He was a close friend and colleague of Zale. "Oye, Priest, lemme talk to you outside," Raiden pointed to the door.

Noah placed a hand on his chin to think. This was a mission of infiltration, not attrition. Choosing the path of least resistance was the best option the team had at the moment, as they were both outnumbered and had the home-terrain disadvantage. On top of that, they had no technology. The element of surprise was the only thing they had. Noah first looked at Dalian. "Master Dalian, I believe it isn't best that you use your fire here. We need to use every advantage the night has to offer us. Your flames will only light the place up," Noah responded. With that, Noah touched the ground to get a better view of the area. He looked for every nook and cranny they could possibly use, but to no avail. This was going to have to be a swift, one coordinated attack. "Okay, I have a plan," Noah said. "Master Aang will fly down from his glider and blast the two watchguards in the tower. This will shut down any calls for help temporarily. Right after this, Master Darya will entrap the mecha suits in the weeds next to their patrol boundaries. Apparently they've been patrolling together, so that will be a piece of cake," Noah pointed to the weeds he sensed earlier. "Then I and Dalian will take care of the two guards on the bottom. Since the door is shut, we'll have to find some way to hack it. Unless Dalian could superheat her swords and slice our way through from the back," Noah continued. "Sounds good?"

Noah took his binoculars and surveyed the area. Apparently, the lab was rather high-tech and had EM devices that could detect other technologies in the area that "weren't theirs". How the United Forces got this information was unknown to him. He was just doing his job. Flashback ------------- Noah walked into the meeting room. He was recently called here on some kind of "classified business". Noah was greeted by some of the higher officials that were commonly called "Elders" in the White Lotus. "Good morning," Noah bowed in respect. "Good morning Noah. We've been waiting for you. Take a seat," One of the Elders responded. With haste, Noah took his seat and the meeting began. Noah looked around to see all 10 Elders gathered around the circular meeting table. "Good morning gentlemen. Glad all of you could make it." Noah looked up to see a retired General Iroh enter the room with the newest United Forces General Melanie and some soldiers of the force. "Iroh! Glad to see you are doing well," One of the Elders, Juno, called towards him. Iroh nodded in response. General Mel (short for Melanie) sighed. "Now that the formalities are out of the way, let us move on to the situation at hand," She said. Almost instantly, the room grew dark and the ceiling revealed a hologram projector "We recently have intel of a Red Lotus Laboratory not too far from New Republic City. Apparently, they are researching a certain "weapon" that could, if we turn a blind eye to it, could set this war in their favor," General Mel announced. A clutter of conversation erupted from the unsettling news. This even peaked Noah's interest. "And how would we deal with this "threat"?" One of the Elders, Jeong II, asked. General Mel turned to Elder Jeong II. "I'm glad you asked," she replied, then turning her head to address everyone. "We are all first going to appoint a team for espionage. Getting even a sample of the technology would be a plus. However, this mission is nearly impossible to return from, as they have the entire island locked down with EM detection devices and airtight security. We not only have to send this team in an area with no technology, but there would be no way to contact them," General Mel responded. "Why that sounds preposterous! It's like sending a sheep to the slaughter!" Elder Jeong II argued. "Yes for a normal master. However, we have a solution," General Mel cleared her throat and nodded to Iroh. Iroh nodded back and faced the assembly. "We have be doing extensive research on the best masters of an element or skill. We have found that most of these skillful persons already exist within the White Lotus. Therefore, we present to you all a compiled list of nothing but the best of the best in the White Lotus and plan on sending all to investigate this possible threat," Iroh announced. While Iroh spoke, General Mel had nodded to one of her soldiers to hand each Elder a list. - Master Noah - An member of the Dai Li at a young age and reflexes just as good as the Legendary Toph's. Though not a metalbender, he is no stranger when fighting on metal, being able to fight benders without the use of bending. We suspect he may have Seismic Sense. However, it is not yet confirmed. - Master Darya - A waterbending prodigy with the rare skill of manipulating plant life. Beautiful, graceful, and skill said to closely rival even master Pakku himself at only 23. - Master Dalian - This one we've been watching for a while now. Born in New Republic City. She is part of the Liu family, a well-renown group of people. She's masterful with both Firebending and swordplay, being able to easily defeating her parents and other benders of the same discipline. People call her the "Chuck Norris" (yeah he's alive in Avatar ) of Firebending. - Master Aang - Though the Airbending nation has been reborn thanks to Tenzin, there hasn't been anyone with such natural talent of Airbending than this Airbender since the time of Zaheer. With the agility and maneuverability of an Airbender, drive of a Firebender, serenity of a Waterbender, and the stillness of an Earthbender, we like to call this guy Aang 2.0. "We would like Master Noah, with extensive experience in stealth, to lead this small team." The room was silent for a minute. Noah was in a state of shock. He was elected to take part in a near-impossible mission. On top of that, he was to LEAD them. Finally, Noah stood up and bowed at General Mel. "I am humbled. If it's for the good of this city, I will go and come back with my team, alive..." End Flashback "Alright team, one on the left and one on the right guarding the outer front gate, three Mecha Suits guarding the outer perimeter, and two in the watchtower," Noah reported to his team. A group of members he'd never seen or gotten to know, but he'd have to trust them if they were to get back alive. (Sorry the flashback is too long)

Sorry guys, between running errands all day and deciding on my character's bending element, I ran a bit late! I appreciate your question! Unfortunately, there will be no active Avatar in this part of the series. I plan for this roleplay to be sort of laying the "foundation" of the kind of world the next Avatar would have to fix. This roleplay shifts its focus from the Avatar to the White Lotus and their search for the next Avatar while maintaining the safety of the world in the Avatar's stead. With that, here's my character! Name: Noah Age: 21 Gender: Male Appearance: Bio: Abandoned as a child, left to walk the streets of Ba Sing Se, Noah's early life hasn't been a pretty one. Some days, he would starve and others he would survive on whatever scraps were dropped on the floor or in his beggars bowl. However, one day, upon seeing his talent for Earthbending at the age of 7, Noah was taken under the Dai Li. Noah was put in a secret underground training program that prepared children for the war ahead, constantly honing their skills. It was hell, however, Noah's friends managed to get him by. By the time Noah was 10, he had already mastered the basics of Earthbending and developed sort of what he called a "sixth sense" (seismic sense). However, he told no one about this ability and honed it himself. By 13, Noah was a master Earthbender and one of the youngest members of the Dai Li. At the age of 18, the Dai-Li finally admitted Noah part in the war and he quickly joined the White Lotus. They're very well skilled, Shiro noted. As the two sand ninja made their counterattack, Shiro reacted quickly with his defense. He quickly retracted one of his chains that was targeted at Arashi to block the incoming senbons. He powered an orb of blue chakra in his right hand and dug it into the ground beneath him, creating a simple smokescreen. "Looks like I'll have to separate them and defeat each one by one," Shiro said. His sensory was nearly second to none, unlike his opponents, he had assumed. He quietly waited patiently for the target ninja to make their move. ---------- Sai and Ren could be found fighting a tough battle against the enemy kunoichi. They tried to subdue the girl, but it was as if she knew all of their moves seconds before they even did it. "Sai," Ren called to him, panting a little. "Yeah, I know," Sai said as he gazed into her glowing, red eyes. The Sharingan. "Don't look into her eyes. They haven't trained you for this at the village," Sai shouted. Ren nodded. What exactly were these eyes? They were a mystery to him. Nevertheless, she was an enemy that stood in his way. "This might be a chance for me to try THAT out," Ren said, weaving a tiger seal. Combining chakra natures for the first time was a bit difficult for Ren to do. The texture of this new nature took some getting used to. The air around him grew colder. He was combining the elements of Wind and Water. "Ren what are you doing in the middle of a battle?!" Sai shouted. "You're open boy!" The enemy kunoichi shouted and rushed towards Ren. "Super Beast Scroll: Tiger Vision Staring Bullet!" Sai shouted. Four ink-drawn tigers shot out of Sai's scroll to intercept the kunoichi, which made her fall back a little. This chaos broke Ren's concentration as he tried to get a hold onto what was going on. Maybe this wasn't the time to try something new. Instead, he quickly weave other handseals and took a deep breath. "Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!" Ren thought, releasing an immense gust of wind from his mouth. It was more than enough to blow the kunoichi back.

Shiro barely managed to dodge the blast waves, as they were unexpected. However, his cover was blown and he was forced out in the open. This wasn't a situation he particularly liked. Shiro shook his head. He'll manage. "So, I see you've got an interesting ability," Shiro said. Her ability to use jutsu without weaving a single handseal would be very detrimental to their cause. But Shiro had a few tricks up his sleve. Shiro's bright red hair blew in the gentle breeze as the trees rustled near the path they faced each other on as he contemplated his next move. He weaved one seal for the body flicker jutsu. Within milliseconds, he was in the air, angled at the southwest side of Kankuro and Arashi. "I need to dispose of you, girl, before you become a nuisance to us!" Shiro shouted. He formed the tiger sign. "Sealing Jutsu: Adamantine Attacking Chains!" Shiro shouted. As gravity slowly pushed Shiro to the ground, five chains exited from his back. Three launched themselves at both Arashi and Kankuro, while the other two stuck itself into the ground to make sure he landed safely. ------------------------ From the distance, loud explosions could be heard, which worried Ren. Ren stood up to see smoke rising from a bit further that the actual meeting point. "Let's go," Sai responded. Ren nodded and the two made way to the meeting place in a hurry.

Two mysterious ninja, in all black clothes, waited patiently in the bushes ahead of Arashi and Kankuro. "That them Shiro?" One asked. Shiro nodded as the two Sand ninja gradually walked the path towards them. They were on a mission to intercept the reinforcements. "Mahiro. On the count of three, we'll split up. I can sense another group on the other side. Take care of them," Shiro ordered. Mahiro nodded. One The two sand ninja grew closer. Two It seemed as if the girl in the group hadn't noticed their presence. But the other one, seemed on edge. No matter. It's gonna be an easy mission, Shiro thought. Three The mission commenced. Shiro threw a flurry of kunai with paper bomb tags attached from his position to cause a bit of confusion. Mahiro bolted in the other direction to pursue the ninja on the other side.

About a couple of hours into traveling, Ren could see the temple in the distance. Trees surrounded this immense, red structure and people could be seen in the distance. Ren looked around the forest scenery. He and Sai never really talked much throughout the trip. Then again, Sai didn't talk much at all. All of a sudden, Sai stopped walking. "We'll break here for lunch here," Sai said. Ren nodded in response and the two sat near some trees and began to eat. They would need their strength just in case they would be ambushed once they've rendezvoused with the rest of the group. Village of the Heavens -------------------------- "King Julius, our enemies are gathering around the "alert line" of the Holy Land," A knight reported to King Julius. The Village among the Heavens has been fighting the Shadow Villagers for quite some time now and despite their small numbers, they have been fighting on equal footing with the Heaven villagers. King Julius placed his hand on his chin to stroke his beard. "Send all A-Ranked Knights and above and flank them from the sides. We'll hold them off with that for now," King Julius replied.

This was going to be a long journey so he had to carefully prepare. He looked at a picture on his dresser of friends from his village. He already missed him since he moved to the Leaf Village and he was going to miss them more because of the place he was going. He put his bag on his back and opened his door. He was supposed to meet up with Sai at the front gate. Ren thought back on his conversation with Naruto. Mixing elements huh? Guess I'll try it, Ren thought as he left his room. "Oi! Ren. You're late!" Sai shouted from the front gate. "Only by 5 minutes!" Ren joked. He had been lost in his thoughts from since he walked out his room. Ren loses track of time when he is in his thoughts. "Yeah, yeah," Sai sighed and pointed to the gate. "Let's get moving," Sai said. ~Meanwhile~ Nazo respectfully knocked on the giant doors leading to the throne room. His bothers were recently captured by Leaf Ninjas and he was the only one left. "Come in," A voice called to him. Nazo pushed on the door and knelt before the king sitting on the throne."Ah. Your brothers are strong and I'm sure you could've beaten them all had the mission been different," The king responded as the knight gave him the intel. "Your brothers will come back. I can assure you of that," The king finished his sentence. His eyes dilated into a familiar red glow with three black tomoes - The Sharingan. "That is, because, we... are the Enlightened Ones." Welcome on board ) As nightfall came fast approaching, Ren could be seen sitting on the roof of a house staring at the Hokage faces carved into the mountain behind the village. So much was on his mind already, like the history of his clansmen, and now this? He, a genin, going into the midst of a war that the village knew nothing about. "Yo, Ren," A voice called from behind him. Ren turned around to see Naruto standing over him. "Whatareya doing here bud?" Naruto questioned. "Well I've just been thinking about Hashirama," Ren replied. Naruto took a seat next to Ren. The moon slowly became more and more prominent as the evening sun took it's leave on the village. "See, from since I was young, my clan had always talked about Hashirama and his brothers. They would always talk about how amazing they were. And since I'm a pride of my clan, they expect much from me as well. However, I've studied extensively in the elements I was blessed with, and I feel like I am at a point where I just can't learn much anymore," Ren paused to look up to the beautiful array of stars shining over the village. Night was always beautiful for Ren, mysterious yet comforting for him. "I have a mission tomorrow. I'm supposed to help out the village in the Heavens in their war against the village in the Shadows. I'm nervous," Ren concluded. The winds bristled past the two, brushing their hair to the side a little. "You know, Ren," Naruto began. "The Senju clan is pretty amazing. I fought alongside gramps, all three of them, in the war. They're pretty amazing, yeah," Naruto finished his sentence. "However, Ren, you're born with three elements. Have you ever tried combining them?" Naruto asked. Ren looked confused. He had never thought of combining elements before, though it'd make sense. The wood style was created from mixing both water and earth, elements that Ren had. "Yeah kekkei genkai is made by mixing two elements together. When I was young, I fought a pretty skilled Ice user," Naruto laughed, remembering old times of when he and his team fought Zabuza and Haku. "But don't worry, Ren. You'll do great on the mission. You've got the skills of that rivaling among many jounin in this village. I believe in you," Naruto stood up to give Ren a fist bump. Somehow, Naruto's words gave him strength. "You got it," Ren replied happily. He was going to come home, stronger than he had been before.
