You mean in Dream Drop Distance? I believe it was because Riku's heart was too strong for it to defeat. Riku manages to ward it off, simply by raising his Keyblade. After battling with the darkness throughout the course of his journey, Riku finally overcomes it, and the Guardian--realizing that it cannot stand against him--admits defeat. It's one of the most powerful scenes in the game, and also one of my all-time favorites. Riku realizes he finally has the "strength to protect what matters." But on the subject of the Guardian. I've played around with several theories. For a long time I thought it might be Terra, or even Vanitas, as many of you have pointed out above. More likely than not, though, it could just be an extension of Xehanort's darkness--almost like the ugly blackness that lies at his hearts core manifesting itself in physical form. Perhaps it will always remain a mystery. Perhaps we'll learn more in KH3!

I have to agree here. I was going to say this very thing, but you beat me to it If Kingdom Hearts ever becomes a movie, it would probably only be successful as a CGI film, and NOT a live action movie. I don't think that most movie-goers would buy a live-action anime-kid-with-spiky-hair meets Donald Duck and Sephiroth, etc. Don't get me wrong, I'd still go see it in theaters, but I doubt the majority of movie-goers would share my opinnion That being said, CGI would be perfect for a KH film, and Square has more than proven their abilities with Advent Children already. I think that a new in-between story would be a good idea, as fans wouldn't be able to say that "the game did it better." This would also ensure that the movie was not simply a re-telling of one of the many Kingdom Hearts stories and that it would have appeal to all kinds of fans looking for something new. It would be a good excuse for Square to dig deeper into the characters and bring out some "untold plotpoints." Even then, I wouldn't mind seeing a direct adaptaion of one of the games, much as 358/2 Days has just been done. I'm super excited to see it in English. ^^

I have not personally contacted Disney or Square Enix about this event. However, several Disney employees have contacted me and my team, saying that they want to be a part. A lot of them will be joining us on the event night, wearing cosplay and having fun along with the rest of us Disney may very well be aware of the event already. If not, then they will undoubtedly be aware by October 25th.

We will be doing a lot of filming and uploading it to Youtube. I'm hoping to shoot a sort of mini-documentary about the event on-site as well. Perhaps if you bring it up to KH13, they'll send out reps to film the event too. The more the merrier ^^

My name's Cutsceneaddict. I'm a BIG Kingdom Hearts fan and general video game nerd. My other favorites include Nintendo classics like Zelda and Fire Emblem. Nice to meet you all ^^)/ My favorite Kingdom Hearts character is Riku. I enjoy writing, cosplay, video games, music, and collecting action figures. I am heading up a big Kingdom Hearts project this year called Magic Kingdom Hearts. It's an event day at the Magic Kingdom for KH fans during one of Disney's special Halloween event nights. A lot of people have already committed to attend, wearing their favorite KH cosplay or T-shirt. I'm hoping the event will be a ton of fun for the fans, as well as a means of getting Disney's attention about working more KH stuff into their parks. The Magic Kingdom is severely depleted of KH presence, which is unfortunate. So anyway, that's a little about me. See you around!

Unfortunately, this event is scheduled for the Magic Kingdom in Florida, but we are looking for someone to head up a parallel event in California. Keep an eye on our updates. We currently don't have any Xaldin cosplayers signed up, so you'd be the very first! I think we will all have a very good time.
