  1. Thanks! Glad you enjoy it. The New Kingdom Chronicles Saga 1 – The Abyss Wars Chapter 5: Investigation Fog rolled by the windows of the train, constantly covering the window in a mist that dissipated a few seconds later, only to be resprayed a few seconds later. It was an odd phenomenon, since the train rode between worlds, where fog wouldn’t normally form. The inner workings of the train were still a mystery to Sora, who watched the window process from a few inches away. He sat at the far corner of the single car train. He looked forward to see the rest of the passengers. Terra and Aqua sat in the middle on the opposite side. Both were silent, but each had very different expressions on their faces. Terra was one of complete stone. His eyes flared with anger but the rest of his face showed none of it. He was leaning back on the seat arms spread, looking straight out the window on the other side of the car. Aqua, meanwhile, leaned forward, holding her head in her hands, her arms resting on her knees. She looked depressed, and always seemed like she needed to say something, but didn’t have the strength to say it. On the opposite side of the train was Riku, who in typical Riku fashion, sat straight up, arms crossed and looking down at the ground in front of him. It was always difficult to read what Riku was thinking. Was he thinking about Kairi? Was he thinking about how to get stronger? How to defeat Winda? All those thoughts made Sora sigh. What could he possibly do now that he couldn’t use his arm? He looked down at the thing, hanging by his side. It hardly felt like a part of him now. It was never gonna do him any good now. He had never felt so powerless; not since the incident on Destiny Island that started everything. He took another breath. It’s been so long since that happened. So many things have occurred since then and he’s met so many people and made so many friends. Friends are what made him strong, but how strong could he be without the ability to fight. His eyes started to glaze over when Riku looked up and turned to him from across the train, still completely silent. Sora sighed once more. Riku was right about what he told him in the tower. He’d find his strength again and he would definitely save Kairi and Aerith. It had been several days since the attack now. The four of them were able to heal most of their injuries, with the exception of Sora’s arm, which he always had to remind himself might never heal, no matter how much Merlin tried to heal it. Ventus and Lea, meanwhile, were still too badly injured to make it Yen Sid’s, but they were no longer in danger. There was also still no word about Leon and Yuffie, which only added on to Sora’s troubles, made amplified by the absolute silence they sat in. “So,” Terra broke the silence, making Aqua jump out of her daze. “You have no idea where that man went with Kairi?” Sora frowned and shook his head. “He didn’t say anything about where he was going.” Sora told him. Terra closed his eyes and sighed for a second. “Well we can definitely assume these weren’t separate attacks, so wherever Kairi was taken, you can bet Aerith is with her.” “Those two should be fine together.” Aqua smiled weakly, lifting her head out of her hands. “They’re both strong girls that never give in, so no matter what they’ll stay alive.” She looked towards Sora and tried to give the best smile she could, although it failed to make Sora any less worried. “This guy was strong,” Sora told them. “I’ve never seen anyone who could throw people around so easily. He played with us like we were toys. Especially Ventus.” “Ventus?” Aqua looked concerned. “Why Ventus?” Sora shrugged. “I’m not sure. He tried to get Ventus to remember him the whole time. In fact I think he knew you guys, too. He said his name was Zack as he wa-,” Aqua and Terra both stood up with a jolt, surprising Sora. “Zack?!” Aqua replied with both shock and quickness. “Y-yea,” Sora stuttered. “You guys know him?” Terra brushed his hand through his hair. “We knew him a long time ago. Back before everything that happened. He certainly talented, but he was nowhere near as strong as the man you just described.” Terra told him. “Do you think it’s really him?” Sora asked. “It’s been a long time since then, so who knows what could have happened in between.” “He was always such a nice boy,” Aqua remarked softly, almost regrettably. Terra and Aqua were now in deep thought, completely ignorant of the conversation they had just left hanging. The train ride went on for not much longer and then stopped very suddenly. Sora looked out the recently cleared up window to see Yen Sid’s tower in all its greatness. The tower sat on a tiny island that seemed to float above nothing. Sora wouldn’t even classify it as its own world. The train door opened up – magically of course. There was no one that appeared to actually be operating this train in the first place – and the four of them stepped onto the small stone path that led up to the door to the tower. Outside the tower was luscious flowers and plants, or as luscious as it can be on such a small piece of land. The sky above and around twinkled of different colors, as if this place was just part of a dream. “Sora!” Riku called. Sora realized he was daydreaming for a good amount of time, the others almost at the door already. Sora ran up to grab the door handle when the door opened on its own and suddenly Sora was attacked, pinned to the ground. “Sora!” a familiar voice laughed. Sora opened his eyes to see Donald and Goofy on top of him. “Donald! Goofy!” Sora smiled. It had been a while since he actually smiled, and it had also been a while since he got to see his two friends. He sat up and hugged them more officially. He looked behind them to see King Mickey also exiting the tower. He and Riku had a very enthusiastic handshake. Those two always seemed to get along really well. After a few more minutes of hugging and laughing, he got back up and the two of them took his hands and began dragging him through the door. Sora winced at the tug in his right arm. He hadn’t been able to tell them yet. He decided to smile through it, not wanting to ruin the first nice moment he’s had since the attack. “We heard everything,” Mickey told them as they walked up the spiral staircase within the tower. “Yeah! We’re gonna rescue the both of them!” Donald cheered. “You bet we will.” Goofy agreed. Sora smiled with relief. These two were always able to cheer him up. “Yeah, if that girl thinks she’s good at magic, just wait ‘til she gets a whiff of mine!” Donald said, revealing his staff. “We don’t even have an idea of where to look yet,” Aqua sighed. “Not to worry, Master Sid has an answer to everything!” Mickey reassured her. After an abnormally long amount of time, they reached the top of the stairs. Mickey opened the door for them and they all walked in to a medium-sized circular room. The ceiling never actually felt like a ceiling, since it showed a vision of the space outside, just more twinkling stars in a purple sky. The room was filled with several tables of all shapes and sizes, and most of them covered to the brim with books and loose papers. The group walked through the maze of tables, leading to a large rectangular desk, which stood in front of a blue leather chair that sat in front of a window showing the never-ending space outside. In the chair was Yen Sid, till wearing the same blue robes he always did. He sat as emotionless as usual. It was hard to tell what he was even doing before they came in. “It’s good to see you all,” Yen Sid nodded at all of them. He seemed to scan them with his eyes, and he looked an extra second longer on Sora’s arm, making him feel uncomfortable. “We came for answers,” Sora demanded, enough out of character that everyone stared at him in shock. Even more shocking was that Yen Sid nodded, as if he understood what Sora was going through. “Very well,” Yen Sid replied. “From the descriptions given to me about this Windla woman – what she wore, the ink on her body, as well as her powers – I was able to discern where this woman came from.” Yen Sid stood up and walked over to one of the many tables in the room. This one was small and circular, only supporting a few books. He picked up a book and flipped it open to a marked page. “History speaks of a world that, while primitive, was filled with warring tribes, and magic beyond what we can fathom. Most tribes could only master the magic of the region they lived in, be it the desert, the forest, or the mountains. For centuries the tribes waged war against each other in what seemed like a battle that would never end. But then, as the books write it, a tribe emerged unlike any of the others. They were called the U’erba Tribe, U’erba meaning ‘Godly’. Unlike the other tribes, they had a mastery of almost all of the spells that existed in that world. Even more so, the strength of their magic was much more potent than what the other tribes had been using. It did not take them long to completely wipe out the other tribes and dominate the world.” “Are they still around?” Terra asked. Yen Sid shook his head. “That is most of what these books told me. There was one more book, written by an explorer that researched the biologies of the plants in different worlds. In one world, he denotes an uninhabited world that was filled with empty ancient cities. From the markings he found in the cities, it matched the writings of the U’erba Tribe, so I believe that something must have happened in the past that wiped them out.” “Not completely then,” Riku corrected him. “Correct. It seems some of them have continued their bloodline to this day. Unfortunately, as for the mystery behind their powers, there’s nothing much here.” The group all made a collective sigh. “However,” Yen Sid started again, “Going to that world and researching the writings there might be able to fill in the blanks.” “How are we supposed to read those writings,” Goofy asked. Yen Sid walked back to his desk and rooted out a couple pieces of paper from the pile of books. “As you know, I’m unable to leave this tower due to the magical balance of this tower.” Sora looked in confusion, having no idea that that was the case. “But based on my research I was able to create a simple guide to their language which prove useful.” As always, Yen Sid was truly a genius. “Alright! Let’s get the show on the road!” Donald cheered, before turning around and walking to the door. “We don’t even know how to get there,” Terra frowned. “Not to worry, I already had Mickey program the coordinates into his ship. You’ll all be going together.” Riku looked down at Mickey and smiled. Mickey grabbed him by the hand and began leading him down the stairs. The other soon followed, leaving Sora in the room. Sora turned around to leave. “Sora,” Yen Sid stopped him. Sora looked back at him. “You may be weak now, but you will find your strength again. I’ve never seen a man with more untapped potential than you. Believe in yourself and your friends, and you will find the right path.” Sora didn’t respond, but he gave Yen Sid a quick smile and nod before exiting the room back to the stairs. He looked down to see everyone already at the bottom. They still had no idea of how to defeat those people, the U’erba or whatever, but they were one step closer, and one step closer to finding Kairi and Aerith. END OF CHAPTER 5
  2. The New Kingdom Chronicles Saga 1 – The Abyss Wars Chapter 4: Recovery All Sora could see was pitch black. There was a constant ringing in his ear that blocked out all noise, but after a while the ringing dissipated. With the ringing gone, he could hear someone crying. Sora turned around to see Kairi standing a few feet away. She was turned away, but he could see her using her arm to wipe away her tears. “Kairi!” Sora called out to her. With a jump, the sound of Kairi crying stopped and she turned towards him. She was covered in dirt and bruises, as if she had been dragged around. “Sora!” Kairi called back, tears welling up in her eyes again. She reached out to him, and he did the same. Suddenly, for a split second Kairi disappeared and Namine was in her place. Sora jumped at the change and withdrew his hand for a second. “Sora!” She called out, but it was still Kairi’s voice. Sora shook his head and reached out even further, but it was too late. A second late Kairi flew away into the distance, her calling for him stifled by the distance. And once again everything was black. Sora jumped up from where he was laying down. He looked around to see that he was inside a cobblestone house, and no longer at the edge of town. The room he was in was not much bigger than the bed he was in and was barren to boot. Sora slowly rotated his legs so touched the ground next to the bed. He flinched in pain as a sharp jolt shot through both of his legs, as well as his right arm, which had a large cast on it. There was no table to grab onto, but luckily the door was only a few inches away so Sora lifted himself up slowly and reached to grab the doorknob and pull himself to the door. Suddenly, his legs gave out under him and fell onto the door, putting all his weight on it. Sora hadn’t been hurt this badly in a long time. With his head to the door, he could hear chatting going on the other side. “…him yet?” a voice finished off the sentence. “He’s resting. I didn’t want to spring the news on him like that.” Another voice replied. Suddenly the door fell through and Sora landed on the ground in the next room. This room was much bigger, containing a couple beds along opposite sides of the room, with a large cobblestone fireplace lit on the far side. Sora looked up to see Merlin and Cid talking. His crash led Merlin to jump in the air with great enthusiasm. “Sora!” Merlin shouted. “I didn’t realize you were awake.” Sora tried to get up, but his right arm failed him and he slammed back on the ground. “Here, we’ll help you.” Cid said grimly. He and Merlin grabbed Sora by the sides and lifted him up onto a nearby chair. Sora noticed Cid and Merlin looking at each other with caution. Sora wondered why they hadn’t put him in the bed right next to them until he realized it was occupied. Riku was laying in it, with a few minor bruises and his forehead wrapped in bandage. “Riku!” Sora gasped, grabbing Riku’s arm with his left hand. His right arm was still proving difficult to use. “What happened to him? Was he attacked to?” Cid frowned and scratched his head. “I don’t know what happened to you, but the rest of us were attacked by this powerful woman named Windla. It seemed like she could harness a powerful wind spell. Much stronger than the typical Aero spell. Probably even stronger than Aeroga.” “You could say the same happened to us, too…” Sora trailed off, looking at the unconscious Riku, who thankfully was breathing normally. Suddenly it hit him. “Kairi!” Sora shouted out of nowhere. He turned back to the two of them. “Kairi was taken by this strange man! He was able to use the Heartless, and he destroyed the Heartless Castle, and he was incredibly strong.” “That’s not the worst of it,” Merlin sighed. “That Windla woman took Aerith as well.” Sora’s eyes widened, and then he looked confused. “Aerith? Why would they take her?” Sora asked. Cid shrugged. “I’m not sure. By the time we found the rest of them, Aerith was gone along with that freak.” “The rest of them?” Sora asked. Cid looked to the other beds, and Sora’s eyes followed. In those beds he found Ventus, Lea, Aqua, and Terra, all in pretty bad shape. Aqua and Terra was next to each other, both were awake, but silent and covered in bandages. Ventus and Lea, however, weren’t awake, and from the look of it seemed to be in serious danger. “Riku was the luckiest,” Merlin finally answered Sora. “He got away with only a few bruises and a slight concussion. Aqua and Terra were more damaged, but they’ll be fine in a few days. Ventus and Lea, however, have several broken bones, and some serious internal damage. It’s a miracle they survived the fall they had. We found them all the way at the bottom of the gorge. Quite the fall. That’s not even the worst of it…” Merline also trailed off, finding it hard to say something. “What is it?” Sora looked up at him. Merlin turned his head towards him. “Leon and Yuffie attacked Windla and they took grave damage. They were sent flying through town, going through building by building. We tried to find them, but we couldn’t find anything under all that rubble.” “What are you trying to say?!” Sora slammed his hand on Riku’s bed. “We’ll continue searching for them, but it is under the presumption that they didn’t survive.” Merlin tried to say with a straight face. Sora tried to stand up, but his legs failed on him and he landed back in the chair. He became filled with rage. “We have to do something!” Sora shouted, ignoring everyone’s presence in the room, and shocking Merlin and Cid. “We need to find out where they are, rescue Kairi and Aerith, and beat the crap out of those guys.” “I understand, but we need time to heal.” Cid tried to calm him down, but Sora pushed him away. “If you won’t help, then I’ll go defeat them myself!” Sora summoned his Keyblade, but a sudden shock through his hand made him let go, and the Keyblade dissolved into light once more. Merlin sighed. “There’s something else we need to tell you.” Merlin put his hand on Sora’s shoulder. “What is it?” Sora demanded an answer. He was still filled with anger. “That man who fought you, he really broke your arm quite badly. The bones were shattered into several pieces. He must’ve had quite powerful strength and it’s a miracle he didn’t tear your whole arm off.” Merlin told him. “That’s good right?” Sora asked. Merlin shook his head. “I used the most powerful healing spell I know, but your bone was in so many pieces, it’s proving difficult to heal correctly. We’ll keep trying, but for now, there’s a good chance you won’t be able to use your right hand.” Sora was frozen, staring at the cast on his right arm, so fragile. “Bu-but, I use this hand to fight. How am I supposed to fight!?” Sora, with all the strength he had, stood up, pushing Merlin into Cid. “Sora!” Cid yelled at him. Sora glared at him, tears welling in his eyes. “What am I supposed to do then!?” He yelled. He put all his strength into each step he took, and luckily his legs didn’t fail him as he ran out the door. He could hear Merlin and Cid calling out behind him, but he ignored them with all his might. He ran down the street the cobblestone house stood at the end of. It was an area he wasn’t use to and so he couldn’t figure out which direction to go in. Then he was the guard’s tower at the end of the street and began running in that direction. Several times in that run, Sora tripped and fell, taking in a mouthful of dirt and sand. Each time, people would try to help him, but he pushed them away and began running again. He climbed up the stairs slowly until he reached the top. It was odd that no one was stationed there, but it was logical to think that they wouldn’t be attacked twice in such quick succession. Sora made his way to the wall overlooking town. When he reached it, he wished he had stayed in that bed. To say the town was a wreck would be an understatement. Almost half the town was complete rubble, save a few buildings in random places that somehow dodged the attacks. Sora could see people lifting up the rubble, calling out names of people missing. Leon and Yuffie were somewhere in there, hopefully doing okay. He looked out in the distance passed the town, and it was as if there was never a tower there at any point. At this point, Sora couldn’t hold back the tears. Sora fell to the ground and started weeping. He sat there for what felt like forever, as the sun began setting, he could hear footsteps coming up the tower. “Stop crying,” the voice demanded. Sora looked up to see Riku standing at the entrance, holding onto the rail and clearly out of breath. “Riku,” Sora called out to him, before the tears overwhelmed him again. “What can I do? I can’t protect Kairi? I can’t protect this town? I can’t even fight anymore? What am I supposed to do?” Riku didn’t answer right away, but instead walked up to the wall next to Sora. “You learn to fight in your own way. It won’t be easy, and it might not be what you’re expecting, but you’ll be able to fight.” Sora’s tears stopped. As painful as it was, Riku was right. It was like starting with a blank slate, but it was what he needed to do now in order to save Kairi and Aerith. Sora wiped his tears away and slowly stood up. “It’s time to go. We’re heading over to Master Yen Sid’s house to figure out what to do next, and a couple of guests will be meeting us there.” With that, Riku turned around and began heading back down the stairs. Sora turned to look at the town. Next time he was here, he would be with Kairi, and he would be stronger than ever before. END OF CHAPTER 4
  3. Started this a long time ago and decided to come back and try to continue the story, so if you enjoy it let me know and I'll keep writing. Enjoy! The New Kingdom Chronicles Saga 1 - The Abyss Wars Chapter 3: Annihilation Kairi stared at the two boys in front of her. She hadn't seen Ventus or Lea since the end of the battle against Xehanort, but it felt like neither of them had changed at all. Ventus, Terra, and Aqua were all much older than them, but because of what happened to them, their body never aged. Now it was as if they were all the same age. "What are you guys doing here?" Kairi asked them. Ventus turned toward her, Lea blocking them from the man. "We got the signal just like you guys! But Lea made us late by constantly trying to show us his 'super cool attack'." Ventus frowned at Lea. Lea looked back and smiled at him. "Well now you'll get to see it in action." Lea turned back to the man, wielding his Keyblade. "Who the hell is this guy?" "I should be asking you the same thing," the man smiled back. "I didn't know Ventus had many other friends." Ventus looked shocked. "How do you know my name?" Ventus yelled at the man. The man frowned. "Aw come on Vent! I'm disappointed in you!" The man lifted his hands and more heartless appeared. "I don't like to be forgotten like that!" "Me neither!" Lea pointed his Keyblade at the man. "The name is Lea and don't you forget it!" Lea thrusted his Keyblade into the ground, sending fire waves across the ground and wiping out all of the Heartless. The man paused. "Impressive!" The man laughed. "I think you definitely have what it takes to be a hero!" Lea and Ventus looked confused. "Wow Vent, still not ringing any bells? That makes me angry!" The man leaped at Lea and punched him in the stomach, sending him into the wall. "Lea!" Kairi yelled. Lea landed on the ground and got back into attacking stance. "I'm fine! You just try to wake up sleeping beauty there and we can handle this!" Lea jumped back at the man and began attacking. Ventus looked back at Kairi and knelt down next to her. "You should probably get further back. We don't want the two of you getting hurt." Ventus smiled and stood back up. "Are you gonna be okay?" Kairi asked. Ventus hesitated a moment but grinned widely after. "Everything will be fine." With that, Ventus summoned his Keyblade Lost Memory and went onto the battlefield. But all Kairi could think about was that hesitation. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "We can take care of this girl," Terra told Riku without turning to him, keeping focused on the enemy in front of them. He had already summoned his Chaos Ripper. Aqua looked at Terra for a second before looking back at Windla and summoning Master's Defender. "Don't die," Riku smirked before passing out. Aqua smiled a little before speaking. "Who are you?" Aqua asked her. Windla smiled as she rubbed off the blood on her fingers. "I don't see any reason for me to tell you." Windla responded. She flicked her hand and a blast of wind was shot at Aqua. Aqua jumped into the air, flipping over the blast and landing back on the ground, going into a sprint at Windla. “Quite the versatile little missus.” Next, Windla began throwing her arms around, sending waves of wind in Aqua’s direction. “I’m more than just versatile.” Aqua smirked. She easily dodged all the waves and in seconds was right up at Windla’s body. “What?!” Windla gasped. Aqua swung her keyblade at Aqua’s stomach but Windla caught the keyblade with both of her hands. “Heh. You think a measly attack like that could do damage to me?” “That was no attack. It was a distraction.” Aqua smiled. Windla flinched and looked back at where they started. The other boy was nowhere to be found. Suddenly, Terra appeared behind her. “It’s over!!” Terra declared as he swung his keyblade. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kairi screamed, running to the edge of the guard wall. She could see Ventus and Lea falling, but there was nothing she could. There was never anything she could have done. It all happened so fast, Ventus and Lea seemed to be doing really well, using their teamwork to take hits at the strange boy. But every time they got close, he merely pushed them away with great power. Sora wasn’t doing well either. He was in and out of consciousness, agonizing in pain from his hurt arm. “Why won’t he fall?!” Lea growled. They were both tired at this point. “I don’t know, but I’m getting tired of being toyed with.” Ventus readied his stance. Suddenly, the boy started laughing. “I’m tired of toying with you too.” The boy stopped laughing. Within a second he disappeared. “Wha-!?” Lea gasped. Suddenly, the man appeared between Lea and Ventus. The boy kicked his leg back into Lea’s stomach, who was then sent flying back and over the wall. “Lea!” Kairi yelled. Ventus stood frozen in fear. “I’m disappointed you didn’t recognize me in time. But sadly I’m all out of that.” The boy grabbed Ventus with both hands and lifted him over himself, throwing him into the wall, which crumbled with the impact, leading Ventus to fall down into the gorge along with Lea. “I’m so useless.” Kairi began to cry. “Yeah you kinda are. But I’ll make good use of you.” The boy suddenly appeared behind her. She swirled around and swung her keyblade at him, but he merely grabbed her hand, stopping the swing. The boy took his other hand and hit Kairi in the back of the neck. She made a quick groan and then fell unconscious into her hands. “Thank god that’s over.” The boy chuckled. He stretched out one of his hands and created a dark portal. Before he could enter, he felt a hand on his leg. He looked down to see Sora grabbing him, having crawled all the way over. “Who are you?” Sora could barely let out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Over?” Windla taunted. Terra’s eyes widened as he saw his keyblade being stopped by one of her hands, the other one still holding onto Aqua’s, who was also in shock. It was as if she had seen all of this coming. “Sorry I don’t have anymore time to play.” With a sudden act of aerobatics, she flipped herself over onto a handstand, using the two held keyblades as a weight. “So it’s time to get my prize.” She started spinning herself creating a large hurricane force. The force drilled Aqua and Terra into the ground, and then pushed them out in opposite directions. As Windla stood up, she took in the silence that surrounded her and smiled. “I love the quiet after the storm.” Suddenly, she turns to Riku, who has started to get up. “Putting up a fight still I see? Then it’s time I kill you and finish this up nice and neat.” Windla sprinted at Riku and stretched out her hand. “Stop!” a voice shouted. Before Riku could react, Aerith stepped in front of him and Windla stopped in place. “A-Aerith,” Riku stumbled. “I know it’s me you want, so just take me and leave them alone!” Aerith began to tear up. Windla stood up straight and smiled, fixing her hair. “Glad you decided to give up, Aertih,” Windla chuckled. “Aerith!” a voice shouted. “No! Don’t!” another voice continued. From out of nowhere, Leon and Yuffie appeared behind Windla, ready to attack. “Now, I’m annoyed,” Windla growled. She turned and swung her hand across the ground, and with a great blast Leon and Yuffie were sent flying crashing into the wrecked buildings across town. “Leon! Yuffie!” Aerith cried before Windla knocked her out with a hit to the stomach. Riku growled as Windla threw Aerith over her shoulders and opened a portal. “S-stop…” Riku tried to start. Windla didn’t even look back before going through the portal and disappearing. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “The name’s Zack.” The boy said before disappearing into the portal with Kairi, leaving Sora to fall unconscious. 4. Thanks! Here's the next chapter! The New Kingdom Chronicles Saga 1 - The Abyss Wars Chapter 2: Greetings Sora's ears were filled with a ringing sound as he adjusted to the explosion. He could barely see around him with the dust and sand still settling from the blast, but he could see Kairi a few feet from him on the ground. She was coughing on all the sand that was filling their lungs. No matter where he was, he always ended up coughing on sand. She was trying to say something, but with his ears filled he couldn't figure out what she was saying. Kairi started looking around suddenly, before standing up and walking out of Sora's view. "Kai-" Sora tried to say, but he started coughing on more sand. It took Sora another few seconds to get up. He wiped his eyes of all the remaining sand, finally becoming able to see. He looked back out to the outskirts of the town. The Heartless Castle that used to symbolize all they were fighting against was taken down in seconds. Nothing remained out there. Sora turned back to the town when his ears began ringing again. He ran to the edge, where Kairi was looking over in silence. They could see most of the town from there, or at least what was left of it. All over the place, explosions were erupting, taking apart all that was left of the city. "This is awful," Kairi said shakily. Sora grabbed her hand and she looked at him. She took a deep breath and then turned back to Sora. "We need to go help them." Her eyes lost all of the fear she was just holding and was replaced with determination. Sora smiled and the two of them began running down the wall to the stairs into the city. They could see some people running in front of them as they reached the stairs, but before the could even enter, an explosion erupted at the bottom. The energy rushed up the building. Sora was able to push Kairi aside right before the eruption blasted him back where they came from. "Sora!" Kairi ran to Sora, some of his clothes torn to shreds. He got up, wobbling for a few seconds. Kairi supported him as they walked slowly back to the stairs. Kairi peered over the ledge. The stairs were almost completely wiped away. "The stairs!" Kairi sighed. With Sora like he is, there was no way for them to get down. "Well isn't this a pickle!" a voice laughed haughtily. Kairi and Sora turned to see a tall man, probably a few years older than them. He wore the Organization XIII black cloak that Kairi and Sora came to despise. His hair and eyes were also both black. The man waited for a second, noticing the two of them staring at his outfit. "Oh, you like?" He did a small twirl to show off the outfit. "I found this little outfit out at the castle." "You did that to the castle?" Kairi gasped. The man smiled mischievously. "Oh, I did a lot more than that, girl." The man raised his left hand, and with it, several Heartless of all sizes began to appear around him. Sora lifted himself off Kairi. "Thanks Kairi, I'm feeling better now." Sora smiled. He turned back to the man and took out his Keyblade. "I'll go for the big guy while you deal with the Heartless." Kairi nodded and took out her Keyblade. The man began to laugh. "That castle represented the failures Maleficent and her Heartless achieved. Today, the Heartless are reborn a new. And they are not to be trifled with," the man smiled greedily. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "They're here," Aerith repeated. She fell to her knees in shock. Riku and Cid ran over to her. "What do you mean?!" Cid asked her; but she didn't respond. Suddenly, the group could hear explosions and screams coming from outside. "What's going on out there?" Riku mumbled. "I'm going to investigate outside!" Riku ran to the door and went through. "D-dont," Aerith whispered under her breath. Riku ran outside as people ran past. The explosions were coming from all over. "Everyone get to safety!" Riku yelled to all those around them. For a moment, Riku heard a rustling around him, but before he could turn he was knocked down. Riku looked back, but no one was there. Riku got back up, but a similar occurrence happened and Riku was back on the ground. "Who's there!?" No one responded. Riku growled and took out his Keyblade. "A Keyblade, eh?" a voice retorted behind Riku. Once again Riku was shot to the ground. "Reveal yourself!" Riku yelled louder. "Maybe if you can catch me," the voice responded. Riku, angry as he was, took a deep breath and remained completely still. He closed his eyes, trying to sense the presences around him. He could find Aerith, Yuffie, and the others inside the house, but the presence that was running around him was going too fast. "If I can't trace you, looks like I'll just have to destroy everything around me." He lifted his Keyblade to the sky. "Dark Firaga Storm!" Riku shot several Dark Firaga's into the sky. They all collided, forming into one giant orb. The orb then rained down on the ground, destroying everything around Riku. The ground was torn to shreds. "Ooooo, good job boy." The voice laughed Riku turned around to see a tall woman lying on the ground, her right foot trapped in the ground. But she somehow took it out with a small kick. The woman had long, dark pink hair that ran down to her waist. She wore the same clothing Yuffie described. Her clothing was made up of very small clothing pieced together and she wore a mouth guard that covered her nose and mouth. "Who are you?" Riku asked as the woman stood up. "The name's Windla," the woman made a small bow, almost haughtily. "And you are?" "Ri-" Riku started. "You know what? I don't want to know. Killing people I know the name of really makes it a buzzkill." She lifted a finger and suddenly Riku was blown upwards. He went up fifty feet before falling back to the ground, barely landing on his feet. "What was that! Aero?" Riku asked. The woman shrugged. "I don't know what this 'Aero' is, but it's definitely not as strong as my power." Windla showed her palm to Riku and then twisted it. Riku suddenly lifted upwards and then flew backwards, spiraling chaotically, into a nearby building. "This is gonna be fun," Windla smiled. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Kairi, duck!" Sora yelled. Kairi ducked just as a Soldier flew over her and dissipated. Sora smiled. Yen Sid really did train Kairi and she was having no problem with these Heartless. Sora turned to the man. He, however, was proving difficult. The man smiled at Sora. "What's wrong with you. Cat got your tongue?" The man laughed. Sora jumped at him, swinging his Keyblade fiercely. The man merely grabbed the Keyblade and threw it down, Sora with it. "You think that's gonna be enough to defeat me?" "Gravira!" Sora thrusted his hand out. A dark ball of power appeared above the man and pushed down on him. The man bent his knees and grabbed the ball with his hands. He was forced down a little, but suddenly the ball dissipated. "Not even your magic is good enough to take me to the ground." The man grabbed Sora by the arm and began squeezing on it. Sora screamed as his barely healed bones began to break again. "Sora!" Kairi yelled. She finished off the remaining Heartless and ran full speed towards the man. The man looked at Kairi and threw Sora right at her, knocking both of them into the wall. Kairi sat up and grabbed Sora. "Sora, are you okay?" She shook him, but he was unconscious. "You should be happy he is not awake," the man smiled, walking towards Kairi. "He wouldn't want to see you in pieces." Kairi began to scream. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Windla walked over to Riku, who was barely conscious. He was bleeding all over the place. He never even got to touch her. All he did was get blasted into the ground by some strange force. "This is just too sad," Windla wimpered. She stepped on Riku's arm, nearly breaking it. Riku began to scream. "What was that? Sorry, I couldn't her y-" Suddenly, Windla was pushed across the opening into another building. Riku looked up to see two figures standing in front of him. Windla walked out of the building, wiping a bit of blood off her chin. "Who are you now?" "Not to worry," the man to the left said. He had a low voice to go with his tall build. "The King's Royal Guard is here!" The other person said, having a much more feminine voice and slim physique. Riku squinted a little and realized it was Aqua and Terra. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kairi was staring at the backs of two men who were blocking the man from her. She recognized them as Ventus and Lea. "The King's Royal Guard is here!" Lea smiled back at her. Ventus smiled as well and the two faced the man, who had a confused look on. "Ventus, eh? Well I guess I never did get to fight you." The man smiled eagerly. END OF CHAPTER 2
  5. Hey guys! It's been a long time since I posted any fanfiction here and I came up with some great ideas for stories so I decided to let them out here. Let me know if you like it or if you have any suggestions! Thanks for reading! I do not own the copyrights to anything, these are just my ideas. The following series of stories takes place in the same Kingdom Hearts universe as the games, but takes place post-Xehanort saga. In this world, assume the only villains not defeated are Xigbar, Saix, Maleficent, and Pete. The New Kingdom Chronicles Saga 1 - The Abyss Wars Chapter 1: Reckoning Sora coughed as he swallowed some sand picked up by the gentle breeze. No matter how long he lived on this island he never figured out how to avoid eating this sand. The sun was high in the sky at this point in the day, so he figured that Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie would be back from school ay time now. Thanks to everything that had happened, he, Riku, and Kairi had missed so much school they couldn't even get back into their own grade, so the three of them decided to just drop it entirely. Sora sighed loudly. Even if he lived on a great beach and hung out with his friends all day, it become old very fast. "More sand in your mouth?" A voice giggled. He jumped at the sudden presence of Kairi right behind him. She stood over him, hands behind her back, smiling brightly. Sora stood up immediately, brushing off all the sand that had collected in his clothes. "Kairi, you can't just jump out at people like that!" Sora told her. Kairi merely shrugged and began pacing around him. Through the corner of his eye, Sora could see that the smile Kairi had on had already disappeared. It had been three months since the three of them returned from fighting against Xehanort and Organization XIII across the several worlds, and they had left some heavy reminders on all of them. For Riku, it was a nearly fatal scar on his back; for Sora, it was several broken bones that had almost healed; but for Kairi, she saw devastating things that hurt her mentally. Most days, Sora longed for Kairi to return to the person she was before any of this happened. The innocent, kind girl that never saw the darkness in anybody. Two years of fear, hopelessness, and constant fighting have left her worn out and stoic like a warrior. "Kairi, are you okay?" Sora asked. Kairi turned to him in confusion, before realizing what he was asking about. She sighed quickly and that smile - that almost fake smile - returned to her face. "Yeah silly! I'm fine." She smiled a second longer before turning away to look across the basically endless ocean. Her stare showed an age much older than her true one. "We're fine now. Xehanort and all of those people washed in the darkness are gone. We're safe now." "Well, everybody except Xigbar and Saix," a voice said sternly. They both turned to see Riku walking towards them. "Riku!" Sora growled, seeing a frown appear on Kairi's face. Riku stared back at Sora. "There's no use in protecting her from this anymore, Sora. She's faced it all with us and she needs to understand that the darkness will disappear completely. As long as there is still a threat out there, she needs to know." Sora looked back at Kairi. Kairi was not only a Princess of Heart, but also became a Keyblade Warrior to help fight Xehanort. She trained under Yen Sid just like Riku and all other Keyblade Masters did. But first and foremost, she was a Princess and she needed to be protected, and that was exactly what he and Riku were gonna do. "You're right Riku," Kairi said straightforwardly. "I can't pretend that everything is completely fine now. While it's the most peace we've had in a long time, we can't be off our guard completely. Who knows what those two are doing right now in some other world?" Riku and Sora nodded in agreement, if not a bit reluctantly on Sora's part. Suddenly, a beeping sound began ringing off in all their pockets. They each took out the item in their pocket even though they knew what it was. It was an alert device shaped like a crown that went off whenever one of their friends needed their help. Most of the time it was just some Heartless or Nobodies that was a little too strong. But they never called on Kairi, and definitely not all three of them at the same time. "This must be bad," Riku frowned. "Let's go!" Kairi yelled. Riku and Sora looked at her. "Why are you guys looking at me like that?! I got the alert too which means they need me too. I'm going and you can't stop me!" Kairi faced showed possibly the most anger Sora had ever seen. but that's not saying a lot. Riku and Sora looked at each other for a moment before Riku nodded. Riku and Kairi began running to the "secret place" while Sora faltered for a second, hesitant to let Kairi go. I'm going to protect her this time, Sora thought before chasing after the two of them. He caught up to them at the entrance to the "secret place." This place held the door that connected them to all of the other worlds. After everything that happened, King Mickey gave them the alert devices which could help them connect to a specific world, as long as someone in that world connected back. The three of them went down to the end of the path, where the room with all of their drawings was as well as the elegant, ornate door stood at the opposite end. "Ready?" Riku asked. The other two nodded and the three of them took out their Keyblades, Sora with the Ultima Weapon, Kairi with her Destiny's Embrace, and Riku with his Way to the Dawn. The three of them pointed their Keyblades at the door and tiny light beamed from the end of their blades to the door. A second later the door opened and the three of them ran into the bright light that exuded from the door. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The three of them landed a few moments later on the gate at the edge of a large rubble. "Where are we?" Sora asked. None of them had checked to see where they were even being connected to. All around them was crumbled buildings and fires roaring all over the place. Sora turned when he heard Riku grunting. He was hitting his alert device. "This thing must be on the fritz," Riku sighed. "It says we were supposed to be transported to Radiant Gardens, but it took us to the wrong place." "Guys," Kairi said. "It's never broken like this before," Sora said curiously. "Guys," Kairi repeated. "When we get there we should repor-" "Guys!" Kairi yelled, interrupting Riku. They turned to her quickly. "I think we are in Radiant Gardens," she said with a shaky voice. She pointed upwards, and the two turned to see what she was pointing at. They gasped when they saw the castle that also held Ansem's study in it. It had also partly been destroyed, one of the tower's completely broken off. The three of them stood in silence for several minutes, taking in their surroundings. Everything was destroyed except for some of the more stable structures. Half the buildings in the market were completely wiped away. They were beginning to see people leaving the intact buildings, but they began worrying about the people that, Sora could only assume, were in the destroyed ones. "We still got the alert and we should find the others." Riku broke the silence. Kairi and Sora nodded barely. Can Kairi handle this? Sora thought. Almost on cue, Kairi turned to him and gave a weak smile. "I'm fine," she said gently. With that, the three of them began running through the interweaving streets or what used to be streets that now had ground missing and buildings on top of it. People all around them were yelling and crying, and it made Sora wince every time. After several minutes they reached the house of their friends and flew inside. They were welcomed by a bunch of screaming and Yuffie about to attack Riku with her ninja stars. When she realized who it was, she put them down and hugged Riku. "Don't take us by surprise like that you dummies," she sighed. She took a few steps back and smiled. "I'm glad you guys are okay." "What happened?" Sora asked. He could see Cid by the computer with Merlin, but that was it. "Where's Leon? Or Aerith?" "Aerith went into town to check on the status of the citizens." Yuffie told him quickly. "And Leon?" Sora asked again. Yuffie hesitated a moment. "What happened to him!?" "Sora!" Kairi pointed to the corner of the room, Sora turned to see Leon lying in a bed, bandages covering him from head to toe. His sword sat next to him. It took Sora a second to realize his sword was broken in two. "Leon!" He ran quickly to the bed and grabbed Leon by the shoulders. "Are you okay?" Yuffie hit him on the head and grabbed him by the collar. "You idiot, he's trying to recover!" Yuffie growled. "I'm sorry," Sora frowned. Seeing the depressed face, Yuffie sighed and put him down. "What happened here?" Yuffie crossed her arms, looking away in embarrassment. "We were completely annihilated." Yuffie admitted to them. "One second everything was fine. The next, several people appeared across the town. They were strange clothes, like several fabrics barely put together properly. With weird mouth guards and hoods it's like they came from a desert. They suddenly began attacking the town. They didn't use Keyblades or anything. It was like magic, but it wasn't the type that we use." "Who were they?" Kairi asked. "I didn't really hear what they were saying, but I did hear two words. The Abyss." The sound of the words made Sora shiver. "Leon was almost fatally wounded, but thanks to Merlin and Aerith he's stable now." "His sword," Sora looked down at the ground. Yuffie put her hand on his shoulder and smiled. "He'll just have to find a better one," Yuffie lifted Sora's head with her other hand. Sora smiled weakly. Suddenly, the door slammed open again. Yuffie almost attacked when she realized it was Aerith. "Stop doing that people!" "I'm sorry Yuffie. I heard Sora and Riku were here." Aerith huffed and puffed, clearly out of breath. "I'm glad you guys made it." It took her a second to realize Kairi was there as well. Aerith froze, sweat forming on her face. "Kairi what are you doing here!?" Aerith nearly yelled, which shocked everyone. "I- I- I came here to help!" Kairi replied. Aerith began gritting her teeth. "You need to go back to Destiny Island!" Aerith immediately responded. Kairi gasped. "Why!? I can help, I know I can!" "It's true that the more power we have the better." Riku told Aerith. "She wouldn't be able to help us! She'd just be another hindrance!" "Aerith!" Yuffie yelled. "What's going on with you!?" "Nothing's wrong. She just needs to go!" Aerith yelled back. "I'm not going!" Kairi looked determined. Aerith turned to Kairi, her hands forming fists. "Kairi you aren't strong enough to deal with these people. You're basically powerless and fragile and you'd only be an obstacle for us if you stayed longer. You aren't welcome here!" The room was silent for a second. Then Kairi ran out of the house and into the town. "Kairi!" Sora yelled, chasing after her. Riku stared at Aerith. "Now tell us the real reason you don't want her here." Riku beamed at Aerith. Aerith frowned, turning away from them. "She's in danger unlike anything that's happened before." Aerith said. "None of us are strong enough to protect her." "Protect her from who?" Riku yelled. Aerith turned to him, but before she could reply, she gasped loudly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sora caught up to Kairi at the edge of the town, on the guard's wall. Sora looked out and saw the Heartless Castle, far off in the distance. "Kairi are you okay?" Sora asked. Kairi stayed quiet for a second. "Aerith didn't mean what she said. She's just trying to protect you." "I can take care of myself!" Kairi yelled at him. I'm not a child!" "I know you aren't!" "Then stop treating my like o-" That was all she could say before the Heartless Castle exploded. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "They're here," Aerith froze. 6. Sharpetto sat at the base of a tree. After a long walk, his strings were getting very dry and fragile, so he needed a minute to rewet and retighten the strings. As he sat, he could here the sounds of the wind brushing against the trees. The sounds of the animals coincided with the plucking of his strings. He smiled peacefully, placing his violin back in the case. "It's times like these that I wish the sound of death wasn't filling my ears."

  8. Chapter 6: New Enemies (?) The Class bell rang right when Asuna ran through the door. "Made it," Asuna huffed, out of breath. Konoka laughed from behind, along with Setsuna. "Nothing seems to ever stick with you," Setsuna smiled. Asuna looked up at the class, which was almost completely silent. "What's wrong?" Asuna asked. "This isn't a typical morning aura." "They're gone!" Makie cried. "Eh?" Setsuna asked. "All three of them, they're gone!" Yuna cried with Makie. "Who's gone!?" Asuna yelled. "Ako, Chisame, and Nodoka!" "EH!? Chisame and Nodoka went missing too?" Konoka worried. "Yue how did not know about this you room with her!" Asuna yelled at Yue, who was sitting at her desk. Yue remained silent, looking away. "What about Chisame-san? Who would want to take her!?" Fumika whined. "Settle down!" a voice rang. The girls turned to see Mr. Matsumoto standing in the doorway. "But Matsumoto-sensei, we have students missing. Plus... the person who typically tells us to bow is one of them." Fuka told him. Mr. Matsumoto sighed. "The principal has received letters from all 3 students, telling of their absence." Mr. Matsumoto reported to the class. "He did?" Konoka asked. Mr. Matsumoto nodded. "Now then, can we please get to class?" he smiled. The girls whimpered before going to their seats. Yue turned and stared at Daisuke, who remained silent at the back of the class. She growled softly. The bell rang and Mr. Matsumoto left the room immediately. Konoka got up. "Let's go see grandfather!" Konoka told Asuna. She nodded and got up with Setsuna. "We're coming with you," Haruna told them, with Yue, who remained silent. "Us too!" Makie told them with Akira and Yuna. They all left in a hurry and the other girls remained, chatting. "You're not going to go, Ayaka?" Chizuru asked her. Ayaka sighed. "If the principal has notes, then there isn't a problem is there?" Chizuru nodded. "You're not going to go master?" Chachamaru asked Evangeline. She shook her head. A second later, Chachamaru left the room after the rest of the girls. "Let's go Kotaro!" Natsume grabbed Kotaro by the ear and dragged him out. "This is quite a spirited class," Daisuke smiled. "But they're also a bunch of fools." Evangeline walked over to him. "I hope you won't bother me and my work Evangeline," Daisuke smiled. Evangeline frowned. "Do what you like, but I warn you. They won't like it." "Yes, I have received notes." Principal Konoe said, taking out the three notes. "They have even been examined for forgery but they're 100% matches. Ako's note says she is visiting a sick relative, Nodoka's that she has to work overtime at Library Island, and Chisame's is that she is spending time working on her... website? Now all of these, at least two of them, are valid excuses and they will not get in trouble." "You don't even believe that do you?" a voice called. All of them turned to see Evangeline standing in the doorway. "Evangeline-san?" Natsume gasped. "You know who we're going against right? A day after receiving the news about the Dark King and there are already 3 girls missing? You know the power that that possession spell has. He could have easily made the girls write those notes themselves and send them." "Well... you do have a point." Konoe rubbed his beard. "It's the truth grandpa!" Konoka cried. "They were taken or whatever!" "I will inform Negi and the rest of the magic teachers right away. Don't worry, I won't allow anyone else to be taken! Now be gone! I have work to do." The girls slowly left the room. "Thanks Evangeline-san!" Akira bowed. "I warned all of you yesterday but you didn't listen! Now Ako, Chisame, and Nodoka are gone. If you are not careful you'll be next." Evangeline left with a huff, Chachamaru following after her. "That Evangeline really does care about us!" Yuna smiled. "What are all of you still doing here?" a voice asked. They turned and Daisuke was standing there. "What are you doing here Daisuke-kun?" Asuna asked. "I need to have a word with the princ-" Suddenly, Yue slapped Daisuke. Everyone gasped. "Yue!" Haruna yelled, grabbing her. "It's your fault!" Yue cried, tears rolling down her face. "Because of you, Nodoka is gone!" "I have no idea what you're talking about!" Daisuke yelled. "But from what I've seen with you and Nodoka, I suggest you re-examine what you think the problem is." Yue froze and then ran off in the opposite direction. "Yue!" Haruna ran after her, followed by Konoka, Setsuna, and Asuna. "Well this just became awkward," Yuna rubbed the back of her head. "We're just gonna... go." Yuna dragged Makie off, followed by Akira, Natsume and Kotaro. Daisuke stood there, looking down. "No," he frowned. "Maybe she was right." "What!? You had a fight with Nodoka last night?" Asuna jumped. She, Yue, Haruna, Negi, Konoka, and Setsuna all sat outside on the steps. Yue nodded. "This is all my fault." Yue cried. "But it's Daisuke I just know it!" "I think you're right!" Negi stood up. "I've already let 3 students down I won't let another!" Asuna smiled. "Then we've got to figure out how to defeat the Dark King!" Haruna stood up. "I think finding him will be the bigger problem." Setsuna sighed. "It appears that he only comes out at night," Negi began to think. "If we can lay some sort of trap for him, then we can catch him." "But who would be the bait?" Asuna asked. They all stared at her. "Eeeehh!?" "I don't like this plan," Asuna sighed to herself. It was now the middle of the night and Asuna was standing in the middle of the space right in front of the dorms. "Ummmm, hello?" There was complete silence and Asuna began to shake. "This isn't working." "What isn't working?" someone placed a hand on her shoulder. She jumped back. It was Mr. Matsumoto. "Oh Matsumoto-sensei, you scared me!" Asuna smiled. "What are you doing here?" "Well... I was just... standing here?" She lied to him. "What's wrong?" "I don't know, I'm just lonely?" Asuna says, finding it hard to come up with a lie. "Lonely?" he asked. She laughed. "Nevermind! I'll just go in, this was stupid." As she began to walk, Mr. Matsumoto stopped her. "I can help you feel better," Mr. Matsumoto whispered. Asuna jumped back. "Eh?" She said. "I can help you make friends! You'll be in a better place!" Suddenly, he tried to grab her mouth. "Adeat!" Asuna tried to yell. Suddenly, Asuna's Ensis Exorcizans appeared and she slapped Mr. Matsumoto, jumping back. "It's him!" Suddenly, Negi, Konoka, Setsuna, Yue, and Haruna jumped out of the bushes. "It worked! I can't believe my crappy lie worked! How could you fall for that!?" "Matsumoto-sensei?" Konoka frowned. "How could you?" "You might as well call him by his real name, Dark King!" Mr. Matsumoto began to laugh maniacally. "I was wondering how long this charade would last!" He laughed. "It lasted two days, nice try," Haruna rubbed the back of her head. Everyone pulled out their weapons, getting ready to fight. "You have your army? Well so do I!" Matsumoto waved his hand and suddenly three portals appeared. From within, Nodoka, Chisame, and Ako appeared. "Ako!" Negi yelled. "Nodoka!" Yue yelled. "Chisame!" Asuna yelled. "Well somebody had to worry about her." All three of them remained still. They were wearing their uniforms, but they were painted entirely black. "They're no longer your students Negi Springfield, they're my slaves!" Matsumoto laughed. He held out his hand and shot out an arrow of light at the group. It was going right for Negi when suddenly someone got in the way and blocked it. Negi closed his eyes and when he opened them, Daisuke was standing in front of them. "Daisuke-kun!" Negi yelled. "Please, call me Daisuke," he smiled.
  9. Chapter 5: Missing Negi sat at the table in his room with Asuna, Konoka, and Setsuna. He sipped his tea quietly while the door opened. "Oh Negi-sensei!" a voice called. From around the corner, Haruna appeared, along with Nodoka, Yue, and Chisame. "Geez, why did I get dragged in here?" Chisame mumbled to herself. "Ah, Haruna-san! And Nodoka-san, Yue-san, and Chiu-san!" Negi smiled. "Don't call me that!" Chisame yelled. "What are you guys doing here?" Asuna whined. "We just stopped in to see how our favorite teacher was doing! I'll just take a spot." Before Asuna could complain, the four of them sat in between the four that were already there. "Can't we ever have a peaceful night here?" Asuna sighed. "But I like everyone here!" Konoka smiled innocently. Suddenly, Akira ran in, huffing and puffing. "Negi-sensei!" Akira cried, sweat and tears rolling down her face. "Akira-san? What's wrong?" Negi stood up, worried. Akira fell to the ground. "Ako," Akira stuttered. "I can't find her anywhere!" "Eh?" Negi gasped. "Are you sure she didn't just wander off into the academy?" "No! She was going to meet me, Yuna, and Makie at the café after getting some stuff from her locker. She was gone a while, so I decided to see if she was still at her locker, but when I got there, all her stuff was lying on the ground and her locker was open and she was nowhere to be found! She's gone, Negi-sensei!" Negi remained silent? Could it have been the Dark King? "Let's look for her Negi-sensei!" Setsuna told him. He looked at her and nodded. "Let's go ask the other kids in the class if they have seen her!" All the kids got up and left the room except for Chisame. "Why can't I have a normal day!" Chisame sighed before getting up and walking out the door. When she exited into the hallway, it was completely silent, nowhere there. "This place is kinda creepy at night." Chisame walked down the hallway, following the sound of Negi's voice. Suddenly, she heard something behind her. She turned around, but there was nobody there. "I hate this place." She turned back around, and standing in front of her was Ako. She screamed, freaked out a little. "Ako, there you are! You scared me!" "Hello Chisame-san!" Ako smiled, rather creepily. For a second, Ako remained completely still. "Um, Ako-san? Are you okay?" Chisame asked, taking a step back. "Do you want a normal life?" Ako asked. Chisame sighed. "Haah, I wish. But considering our situation, I think it's sort of impossible at this point." "It's possible," Ako smiled again. Chisame froze. "Chisame-san?" Chisame grabbed Ako by the shoulders. "It is!? Tell me! Tell me! TELL ME!" Chisame hissed. "Chisame-san, that hurts a little," Ako laughed a little. Chisame took a breath in before taking her hands off of Ako. "Sorry, I just got a little excited." Chisame cleared her throat. "So, how is it possible?" "It starts with this!" Suddenly, Ako jumped at Chisame, covering her mouth. "Eh? Ako-san?" Madoka asked Negi, who was huffing alongside Akira. "We didn't even have band practice tonight," Kakizaki reminded them. "So we haven't seen her at all." "Is there something wrong?" Sakurako asked. Negi paused. "Nothing! We just haven't seen her and I... need her help with something," Negi laughed. "Goodbye!" Negi dragged Akira outside. "Why didn't you tell them?" Akira asked. "I don't want to get everyone involved again!" Negi pleaded. "Let's just keep it a secret with those who need to know." "I will have to tell Makie and Yuna though," Akira told him. Negi sighed. "Okay, but let's keep searching first." Negi and Akira ran off. Soon they ran into the Asuna, Konoka, Setsuna, Haruna, Yue, and Nodoka. "Have you found anything?" Akira asked. Asuna shook her head. "No one has seen her," Yue told Negi. "Negi-sensei?" a voice asked. They turned to see Daisuke standing there. "Daisuke-kun!" Negi jumped, startled. "What is everyone doing out here so late?" Daisuke asked. "We... were just watching the stars!" Haruna interrupted. "Um, there are no stars out," Daisuke laughed. "Exactly why we were going inside!" Konoka smiled. They laughed for a minute before heading inside. As Nodoka walked, Daisuke stopped her. "Eh?" Nodoka hesitated. "You should be careful," Daisuke smiled. "It's dangerous at night." "She'll be fine," Yue appeared out of nowhere. Daisuke smiled before giving one last look at Nodoka before walking off. "T-thanks Yue," Nodoka smiled. Yue frowned. "Nodoka you need to make up your mind!" Nodoka jumped. "You can't string Daisuke and Negi along. It's not fair for either of them and it's only going to get in Negi-sensei's way!" "Yue!" Nodoka tried to talk. Yue sighed. "I'm sorry. It's not fair to them... or to me." Yue walked off, leaving Nodoka alone. "She's right," Nodoka thought. "It's dangerous at night," a voice whispered. Nodoka jumped and turned around. Behind her stood a man, hidden by a long cloak. Nodoka backed up. "A-are you?" Nodoka quivered. The man said nothing. Nodoka gulped. "Adeat!" Nodoka chanted. Her Diarium Ejus appeared in her hands, and Nodoka pointed the Comptina Daemonia. "What is your name!" Nodoka yelled. Suddenly, the man was gone. In a second, the man stood behind her. "I was going to handle you later, but you're too dangerous to leave around." The man grabbed Nodoka's head and with a small chant, Nodoka fell to the ground. "Plena Possessione Corporis." The rest of the gang sat inside of Negi's room. "We couldn't find her," Setsuna sighed. Konoka passed everyone another cup of tea. "We'll just have to continue tomorrow," Negi frowned. "I'll notify Takahata-kun about it in the morning. I'm sure he'll know what to do." "Thank you Negi-sensei," Akira bowed. She quickly left the room. Haruna and Yue got up and left soon afterwards. "This is going to be a mess," Negi sighed. Asuna comforted him. "It'll be okay," Asuna sighed. Meanwhile, Haruna and Yue were walking down the hallway, when Yue flinched. "Wait, where's Nodoka?"
  10. Chapter 4: A Quivering Heart As the girls prepared to leave the resort the next day, Yue halted Nodoka. "Did something happen, Nodoka?" Yue asked. Nodoka immediately staggered, still hiding the rose in her bag. "Nothing happened, I swear," Nodoka persuaded. Yue spied her for a second and then turned away. "You know, rumor has it that Daisuke is the Dark King." Nodoka gasped. "But-but that's not possible! Daisuke-kun is really nice!" Yue stopped and pointed at Nodoka. "I knew it! Something did happen!" Yue accused Nodoka. "A-after you guys left me, I ran into him. He was really nice and he gave me this rose!" Nodoka took the rose and gave it to Yue. Yue stared at the rose for a couple minutes, and then ran off with it. "Yue!" Nodoka yelled. She chased after her until Yue stopped by Evangeline. "Evangeline!" Yue called. "What is it girl?" Evangeline asked. "Is it possible to enchant an object, or make an object out of magic?" "This seems like a very random question. Why?" Yue showed Evangeline the rose. "I want you to see if this rose has been enchanted," Yue told her. Nodoka jumped. "Yue you don't have to!" Nodoka tried to stop her. Evangeline took the rose. "Who gave you this?" Evangeline asked. "D-Daisuke-kun," Nodoka told her. Evangeline sighed. "It'll take a couple days, but I can get it checked out." "Thank you, Evangeline-san!" Yue bowed before leaving the dome with Nodoka and the rest of the class. "What is that boy up to?" Evangeline frowned. "Hey Ako, what're you thinking about?" Yuna slapped the back of Ako's head, who was staring off into the distance after leaving Evangeline's house. "Um, yeah I'm fine!" Ako smiled wryly. "Man! Those resorts were so cool! And we only lost an hour in the real world!" Makie smiled. "Do Negi and the others go there all the time?" Akira asked. "I don't know, but I plan to go there a lot now!" Yuna laughed. The four girls laughed as they walked back to the main part of Mahora academy. "Okay! Let's go get some dinner!" Makie cheered. "I have to quickly get something I forgot at my locker!" Ako smiled. The other girls looked at her for a minute. "Um, okay," Yuna told her. "We'll meet you at the usual café!" Ako nodded and headed for the school. Yuna and Makie began walking down the road while Akira remained still, watching Ako run off. "Ako," Akira worried. Ako reached the entrance to the school. When she entered, she hit something and fell to the ground. "Sorry!" Ako winced. "You should look where you walk," a voice told her. Ako looked up to see Fate standing in front of her. "Fate-kun, what are you doing here?" Ako stood up quickly. "You forget, I work here," Fate replied stoically. Ako laughed awkwardly. "You're right, I'm sorry. If you'll excuse me," Ako bowed before walking by. "You're still troubled," Fate told her, stopping her in her tracks. "Eh?" Ako mumbled. "You have a silly little crush on Negi Springfield," Fate faced her. "Eh!? No I don't!" Ako yelled. "The saddest part is that you still don't admit it." "Stop it! I don't have a crush on Negi-sensei!" "So, it's 'Nagi-san' then?" Fate took a step towards her. Ako froze. "What?" She paused. "I'm going to go check up on Ako!" Akira stood up at the café. "What?" Makie asked. "She's been gone for a while now!" Akira told her. "Ok, we'll... just be here then," Yuna tried to tell her, but Akira had already set off running. "What's with her?" "I don't have a crush on Negi-sensei!" Ako screamed, a tear rolling down her face. "But you do have one on Nagi-san?" Fate asked. Ako remained silent, knowing that it was true. "Nagi-san, as you know, is just an extension of Negi, so you really do have a crush on Negi." "That's a lie!" Ako cried. "It's sad that you think you are tied down by him when really, you're tying him down." "Eh?" Fate walked closer and closer to Ako. "By hanging on to him, you're only causing trouble for Negi-kun. What if you bothered him while in battle, and he ended up dying?" "But-but-" "It's different for the other girls like Nodoka or Yue because they are strong enough to handle themselves in battle, but you. You are useless to everyone here and are only in the way." "Stop!" Ako bit her lip, trying to hold back the tears. Fate sighed, walking back to the doorway. "Maybe you should mature a little before even thinking about Negi-kun or Nagi-san or whoever you believe you have a chance with." With that, Fate walked out, disappearing into the forest towards Evangeline's house. Ako fell to the ground, crying nonstop. "Is there anything I can do for you?" a voice called. Ako turned around, but couldn't see anyone. "Who's there?" Ako asked. "I'm a friend," the voice called. Ako stood up and walked to the hallway. There, on the opposite side, was a man wearing a long cloak and hood. "I'm sorry, but I'm not suppose to talk to strangers," Ako half smiled. "You want to be strong?" the figure asked Ako, who was turning around. Ako stopped. "What?" "If you want to be stronger, and help your friends, I can teach you." "You can?" Ako asked, stepping closer. The man got off the wall and took a step towards Ako, who didn't retreat. "Yes, I can. With a little help, you can be amazing," the man said. All of a sudden, the man took out a bright red rose and gave it to Ako. "A gift, for the young damsel in distress." "Thanks! I'm really thankful-" Suddenly, Ako fell to the ground, the man catching her and holding her in his arms. "Plena Possessione Corporis," the man chanted. "Ako!" Akira ran inside. She saw Ako's locker open and ran to the hallway, but there was no one there. "Ako? AKO!"
  11. Hey, so if anyone could just comment on if you like the story, that'd be amazing. No pressure or anything though haha Chapter 3: News Nodoka, Asuna, and Negi sat on small wooden chairs in Evangeline's resort dome. As they sat quietly, Chachamaru came in with a tray of cups. "Tea, Negi-sensei?" Chacharmaru asked, placing the tray on the table in front of them. "Ah, thanks Chachamaru-san!" Negi smiled, grabbing a cup along with Asuna and Nodoka. As they sipped their tea, Nodoka made sure to keep the rose given to her by Daisuke hidden so as not to start questions. Just then, Evangeline stomped in. "Where is everybody!?" Evangeline growled. "I told you to bring them here!" "I sent them all telepathic messages with their pactio cards, so they should be here so-" "WOW!" a voice screamed. They stood up and walked out of the pavilion to see everyone in the class there. Makie ran over to Evangeline. "Evangeline this place is so cool!" Makie smiled. "Since when have you had this place?" "Wh-wh-what is everyone doing here!" Evangeline ignored Makie. "Well, since everyone in the class knows about magic, and really only like 6 of us don't have pactios, so we thought we might as well invite everyone! Except for Daisuke of course," Yuna rubbed Evangeline's head. "Wait, wait WAIT!" Sakurako screamed. "Why does Evangeline have a place like this!?" "You didn't know that Evangeline is a vampire?" Kazumi asked. "What!?" Sakurako, Madoka, Kakizaki, Fuka, and Fumika gasped, being the only ones in the class that didn't know. Yotsuba just bowed her head, as if knowing for a long time, which didn't surprise anyone. "Wait, so that Sakura Lane incident: that was you?" Fumika asked. Evangeline nodded, causing Fumika to faint. "Fumika!" Fuka screamed, holding the unconscious Fumika. "Why are we the last ones to know everything!" Madoka sighed. "Okay! Enough with the comedy routine!" Evangeline growled. "Just get inside." Everyone followed her inside. "Nodoka!" Yue called. Nodoka turned to her. "How was Library Island? Did you do that work?" "U-um," Nodoka stuttered. "I didn't have time before Evangeline called us." "Oh. I see." Yue mumbled, feeling suspicious. "Anyways," Evangeline began, everyone now sitting in the large main room. "I recently got a message from an old friend." "An old friend?" Asuna asked. "I mean Chao Lingshen." Everyone gasped. "Chao-san!" Fuka and Fumika cheered. "Where is she!?" "She's still... wherever she is. She just sent me a message over communication." "What did she say?" Hakase inquired. "She told me about an escaped convict." "Convict!?" Haruna gasped. "Like a murderer!?" "No, no. He wasn't a murderer... I think," Evangeline paused. "What about this guy?" Mana continued the conversation. "Well apparently he's come to Mahora." "Why!?" Ako screamed, getting freaked out second by second. "Chao didn't say. I just thought I'd let you all know." Evangeline said. "So, we can go now?" Kakizaki asked. "Well technically, but you can't leave the dome for 24 hours," Evangeline told them. "What!?" The three cheerleaders screamed. After a couple minutes of disheveled explanation, the cheerleaders, Fuka, and Fumika and other classmates began a tour of the series of magical resorts. Meanwhile, the rest of the class remained with Evangeline. "There's something else you want to say, right Evangeline?" Kazumi assumed. Evangeline remained silent for a moment. "He goes by the name of the Dark King." Evangeline finally confessed. "Dark King?" Chisame huffed. "What kind of amateur name is that!?" "He's not to be taken lightly Chisame, or should I call you Chiu?" "Shut up! That's a screen name that's totally different!" Chisame freaked. "What's so powerful about him? Also, how did he get to our time and why is he here?" Yue ravaged Evangeline with a series of questions. "Okay I'll just give you a summary: This man, the Dark King, used to work for the same group as Chao in her time. One day, he went mad taking a hold on some powerful forbidden magic. They threw him in prison where he stayed for almost five years. But then, he escaped and stole one of Chao's time travel machines." "Why do you think he came here?" Kaede asked. "In his prison cell, the walls were covered with one name: Negi Springfield." Everyone stared at Negi, who looked around in confusion. "Wh-why me?" Negi breathed heavily. "Even Chao was confused by it. We just need to be careful, because he'll be going after everyone in the class." "Come on! I can take him!" Kotaro butted in. "Unlikely. Chao said he was much stronger than her, and with the forbidden spell he got even stronger." "What spell was it?" Negi asked. "It was a spell of possession. But it's the strongest one ever created, to the point where the possessed would die for him. It's bad, in short. That's all I know." "So I think we should guard all of our classmates, especially the ones that don't have pactios," Negi told the girls. They all nodded in agreement. "I told old man Konoe, so he should have told the magic staff around the school. But still, this man is strong. Beware." "Anyways," Asuna smiled. "Since were here for a while, beach time!" The girls cheered, running to the portal to the jungle resort, dragging Kotaro with them. Negi stayed where he was with Chisame, Evangeline, and Chachamaru. "Look, as long as I don't get dragged into this, I'll be fine." Chisame told them, leaning on the table with her arm. "Daisuke." Negi said. The others looked at him. "What, Negi-sensei?" Chachamaru asked. "That Daisuke-kun is the most suspicious." Negi admitted. "It appears he was very interested in talking to me and meeting me, which makes me thinks its him. Right Evangeline?" But when Negi looked, Evangeline was gone. "Where did she go?" "She got bored and went to sleep," Chachamaru said blatantly. Negi waved his arms in fury before walking off. Chisame got up and walked over. "So what is Evangeline going to do about it?" Chisame asked. Chachamaru shrugged. "My master seems ignorant of the topic." "What does that mean?" "I don't have an answer for that." Chisame sighed and followed after Negi. Just then, Evangeline returned to the room. "What are you going to do master?" "I'm going to wait and see what happens. The boy cannot depend on me forever." "Do you think he can beat that man?" "Who knows."
  12. Any advice would be lovely for future chapters. Thanks for reading! Chapter 2: Meeting "Slow down!" Haruna called to the girls, who were continuously pushing Daisuke down the hall. "I feel bad for the new kid," Asuna smiled, walking with Nodoka, Yue, and Haruna far behind the rest of the class. "First day and the girls are all over him. "He's nothing special," Yue sipped her juice box. "right Nodoka?" Nodoka hesitated before nodding quickly. She quickly looked down at the ground, Yue staring at her curiously. "Oh, I see," Haruna chuckled. "It seems Negi has competition for Nodoka's heart!" Nodoka jumped, her face turning red. "N-no! That's not true!" Nodoka tried to persuade them. "We know Nodoka," Asuna cracked a suspicious smile along with Haruna. "Guys, stop it!" Nodoka whined. Yue remained silent behind them. The four of them reached the teacher's lounge, where all the girls already were. The entered to see Daisuke and Negi bowing to each other. "It's a pleasure to meet you," Daisuke shook Negi's hand. "I've heard many great things about you." "I hope you haven't heard everything," Negi laughed. Daisuke joined in and all the girls froze. "They're actually getting along!" Madoka whispered as the girls huddled together while the boys chatted. "I was hoping there was gonna be some sort of fight!" Sakurako sighed. "For the love of the girls of 1-C! A battle of wits and physical strength!" "I think you're being a little too dramatic..." Ako frowned. "Can we help you?" Negi asked. The girls turned around, forgetting where they were. "Nope! We're good!" Yuna laughed uncomfortably. "We're just gonna... go!" Fumika hesitated. All the girls ran out, leaving Negi, Daisuke, and the four other girls. About 30 minutes later, Negi and Daisuke were walking down the main street of Mahora academy, with the four girls trailing behind. "So you grew up in Wales?" Daisuke asked him. Negi nodded excitedly. "I visited there when I was younger." "Really?!" Negi exclaimed. "It's so nice to meet someone who has similar experiences to me!" Asuna watched Negi from behind. "He seems too excited!" Asuna frowned. "Well he is only eleven years old Asuna!" Yue smiled. "It's probably still exciting for him to meet new people." As they walked down the street, Negi stopped. "Asuna! I need to pick up a book from the store!" Negi yelled, walking into the building next to him. Asuna called to him, chasing him in. "You going home Nodoka?" Haruna ask her. "I have to do some work at the Mahora Library, I'll be back late." Nodoka remembered. She waved goodbye to Yue and Haruna who left through one of the alleys to the tram. Nodoka began walking down the street to the Library. "So your name is Nodoka?" a voice asked. Nodoka turned to see Daisuke leaning on a bench on the sidewalk. "U-um, yes... it is," she replied quietly. Daisuke smiled and stood up straight. He held out his hand. "Eh?" Nodoka paused. "Where I come from, people shake hands when they meet each other for the first time." Nodoka hesitated for another second before grabbing his hand. Suddenly, out of nowhere, Daisuke lifted his other hand, holding a bright red rose. "A...rose?" Nodoka asked, holding it in both her hands. Daisuke smiled again. "You're cute, so I think we'll be seeing each other a lot more, Miss Nodoka." Daisuke began walking away when he stopped. "Also, one more thing. Beware who you trust in this town, because not all is what it's meant to be." With that, the boy disappeared in the crowd. Nodoka looked down at the rose, her face burning and red. "Nodoka?" a voice called. Nodoka turned, hiding the flower. It was Asuna and Negi. "What are you doing here still?" Asuna asked. "Um, I was just go-" "Hey! Brat!" a voice interrupted. They looked to see Evangeline and Chachamaru standing behind them. "Evangeline-san!" Negi called. "What are you doing here?" Evangeline frowned. "Call all of your partners to my house. Now." Evangeline yelled. "Eh, why?" Asuna asked. "There's trouble. Lots of it."
  13. I do not own the copyrights to Mahou Sensei Negima or anything, but I just loved the manga and wanted to do a fanfiction of it. This fan fic won't really include spoilers except for the pactios of the girls who have already as well as some characters who appear later on in the story. There won't be any real plot spoilers though for those who care about that. The story continues after the end of the manga and includes old and new characters. Chapter 1: The New Kids Asuna's alarm clock rang incredibly early. She yawned loudly, waking up Konoka below her. She rubbed her eyes while adjusting to the light shining in through the window. She quickly got up and began changing into her exercise clothes. At the same time, Konoka began making breakfast. When she was done, Asuna devoured down the food and raced through the door. "I'm going Konoka!" Asuna yelled behind her. "You better not be late again!" Konoka replied. Asuna realized that today was the first day of the new school year. She wondered who would be in her class this year. She ran down to her normal newspaper stand and picked up a pile and began her route. She began throwing the papers to the doors of the houses when she heard a familiar voice. "Hello there Asuna," the voice said. Asuna looked up to see Negi flying on his staff above her. "Geez Negi you scared me!" Asuna cried. She stopped for a second to catch her breathe and Negi floated down next to her. "It's been a while since we've last had a chat Asuna. Why it seems like yesterday when we met like this for the first time." "Yea, but that was over a year ago now Negi." Asuna began walking again. "It's the start of a new school year. Are you ready to see our class again?" Asuna turned around, but Negi had stopped. "Asuna," Negi started. "I'm not your teacher this year." Asuna jumped. "WHAT!?" Asuna freaked. "Is this some kind of joke?" Negi jumped off and walked to Asuna. "I'm not the class' guardian Asuna. I'm just a teacher. Like any other teacher I get reassigned every year to a new class! You are going to have a new teacher this year I'm afraid!" Asuna sighed. "Well this stinks. I was looking forward to being together again!" "Don't worry Asuna! We can see each other all the time outside of class! Besides, I'll probably still be your English teacher." Suddenly, Asuna's watch began to ring. "Dang! School's gonna start soon. Negi I got-" She stopped. Negi was already flying to the school. Asuna frowned. "Nothing's gonna be the same." Asuna, now in school attire, entered the school. All of the girls crowded around the school board, where all the classes were assigned. There, she found Konoka and Setsuna waiting for her. Asuna walked up to them. "Hey guys! So what class am I in?" Asuna asked. "1-C," Konoka smiled. "You're with me and Setsuna as well!" Asuna laughed. The first day of high school. She wondered if it could get better. The three of them walked down the hall, their class being on the first floor, and entered the third class on the right. When they entered, they gasped. Everyone from their class was there! "What's going on here!" Asuna yelled. Ayaka walked up to her. "Apparently everyone from our class last year is in the same class again." Ayaka told her. "Oh yeah!" Konoka jumped. "I remember grandpa telling me something like that. He said considering how much our class has been through together, the magic staff decided to keep us together." "Looks like this year will be interesting then!" Setsuna smiled. The four of them walked over to the other students who were chatting around the room. After a couple of minutes, the bell rang and the students got their seats. "Even the seats are the same," Asuna smiled. Suddenly, the door opened and in came the new teacher. He was very tall and slim. He had black hair that was short, about the same length as Takamichi's and he had deep hazel eyes. Asuna jumped a little, her heart began racing. "He's so handsome!!" Kakizaki screamed. It was true. Asuna and a few other students were blushing uncontrollably. The teacher walked up to the desk and smiled. "Hello, my name is Hikaru Masumoto, and I'm your new homeroom teacher. Along with me, we have two new students to the class. Both of them happen to be boys." "BOYS!?" The class jumped. "Yes. Due to extensive circumstances, they will be a part of the class, so please treat them well." The girls chatted for a minute before Mr.. Matsumoto calmed them down. "Our first student's name is Kotaro Inugami." Then, with a slamming of the door, Kotaro walked in. "Kotaro!?" Natsume yelled, standing up. "Oh, Natsume nii-chan is in this class?" Kotaro asked coldly. "Why are you acting so non-chalant about this!?" Natsume replied. "Now now settle down," Mr. Matsumoto steadied Natsume. "Kotaro you can sit down in one of the extra seats in the back." Kotaro made a face at Natsume and walked to the back, sitting next to Evangeline. "The next boy is Daisuke Takashi." The door opened once more and another boy came in. Once more, multiple girls in the class began to blush. The boy had long blonde hair and deep blue eyes. He was about the same height as the rest of the girls and he bowed. "Please take care of me!" He said. "Oh my god he's so hot!" Sakurako whispered to Nodoka behind her. Nodoka didn't respond. She was staring at the boy in silence. "Daisuke, you can go sit in the last extra desk in the back." Daisuke nodded and walked back. "Now then, let's begin roll call!" The bell rang and Mr. Matsumoto left the room at the end of the day. The girls got up and began chatting excitedly. Chizuru walked over to Kotaro with Asuna, Konoka, and Natsume. "I expect you to be a good boy, Kotaro!" Chizuru smiled wickedly. "Y-yes," Kotaro replied obediently. Asuna looked to see most of the girls crowding around Daisuke who was happily talking to them. "Looks like Negi has some competition now," Asuna smiled. Makie turned around. "No! No one will ever be able to replace Negi in my heart!" Makie cried. Daisuke got up and walked over, the other girls following closely. "Who's Negi?" Daisuke asked. "He was our teacher last year and everyone's love!" Konoka giggled. "Don't put me in that group!" Asuna slapped the back of her head. "Oh you mean that famous teacher here? I think I'd like to meet him." "He's in the teacher's lounge! I'll take you there!" Ayaka screamed, grabbing Daisuke's hand and dragging him out of the class and down the hall. Most of the class followed. Konoka tried to go but Setsuna stopped her. "What's wrong Setsuna?" Konoka asked. "Something's wrong with him. I don't trust him." Setsuna growled. "Oh come on Setsuna! You're too sensitive now. Everything will be fine!" Konoka grabbed Setsuna and they left the class. Evangeline and Chachamaru were the last ones there. "What do you think this means, master?" Chachamaru asked. Evangeline remained composed. "I'm not sure, but I don't like it." She frowned. She didn't like it one bit.
  14. Book 2: Gathering Chapter 1: Legend Reborn "Twi-Twilight Town?" I swallowed. The man nodded in agreement. I walked over to him, Amy trailing behind me. "Where is that?" "What do you mean?" he asked curiously. "On Earth, where is that? I've never heard of a town called Twilight Town where we live." The man sighed and shook his head. "I see. You are still a little confused. Come with me, and I will explain everything." He motioned us to follow him through the door. We paused unsure of what to do. I looked at Amy, who stared back at me. We quickly followed through the door. Once outside, I gasped. It was completely different from where we were. The street, buildings, everything was made out of stone and wood. The houses and buildings were closely packed together around this house, which seemed to be in the middle of this circle of buildings. In front of us was a set of stairs that led to a town square, which I assumed it was. The square was bordered by street lamps and a large stone wall that seemed to border the entire town. On the left side of the square was a pretty large door, which the man was walking towards. We quickly chased after him. "Cooper, look!" Amy tugged on my shirt. I looked to where she was pointing, and there, walking on the opposite side of the square, was a small white teddy bear like thing. From its head, a string with a red orb at the end hung over his face. I took a step back. "What is that thing?" I shivered. "Oh, that's a Moogle. I think you'll be seeing a lot more of them from now on," the man said, not even looking. We stared for another second before realizing the man had already walked through the door. We opened it and saw another section of the city. This part seemed to have a lot less buildings, with electrical tubes and wires running along the sides. To our left was a ramp that led up to an elevated area with another door and two tall buildings. Instead of going up there, we followed the man to a small alleyway across the area. There, at the dead end, was a red door with a fire symbol painted on it. The man mumbled some words and the door opened slowly, rising into the wall above. He looked at us and smiled before entering through. When we went in, we realized that we were now in a large cave. As we walked through, the cave opened up into a large cavern. There, in the center of the large cave dome was a lake and in the center of that, an old, rusted house that was half gone, completely open. When the man reached the edge of the lake, we mumbled some more words and suddenly a rock path rose from below the water and connected us to the house. We walked along the path until we reached the house, where we just walked in through the gaping hole on the side. "What is this place?" Amy asked. "This house belonged to my great great grandfather, who lived here over 100 years ago." the man said, dusting off some of the items in the house. The house was circular and along the outside wall were desks and bookshelves covered in mold. "One second please." the man held his hand up to us. He mumbled some more words I couldn't understand, and suddenly there was a blast of wind. The wind was so powerful it covered our eyes, forcing us to close them. When we opened them, all the items in the house were cleaned off and the lamps were lit. "How'd you do that!?" I jumped. "Magic of course!" the man smiled. "I AM the descendant of Merlin, the greatest wizard of all time after all." He stated that as if I understood what he was talking about. "Now let's see here...where was it?" He began searching through the piles of books around the house. "What are you looking for?" Amy wondered. The man didn't respond. "I know it must be here somewhere," he continued. He jumped up to the elevated platform in the middle, where there stood a small desk and a red chair. There, he gasped with delight. "There you are!" He stuffed his hand into the chair and pulled out an orb the size of my head. He motioned to us to come over to him, which we did immediately. He placed the orb on the stand on the desk, rubbed his hands over it, and chanted a few more words. Then, with the snap of his fingers, the room went black and all we could see was the orb. We couldn't even see the ground below us. Suddenly, the orb began floating into the air. "Now," the man said, looking at us for the first time since we met. "Allow me an introduction. My name is Rubenthor. As I said I am the descendant of Merlin, the greatest wizard of all time." "My name's Cooper and this is Am-" I began. "Amy. Yes I know who you two are." Rubenthor interrupted me. "You are the princess and the keyblade wielder. I watched you two battle that giant heartless. Looked quite painful." "How did you see it?" I asked, embarrassed from him seeing my terrible fighting skills. "With magic of course!" "Anyways, you never told me where we are? I've never seen a place like this on Earth in my life." Rubenthor sighed. Suddenly, a picture of Earth appeared above the orb in some type of hologram fashion. "I'm afraid we are no longer on Earth my dear boy." I paused. "In fact, that planet is gone, eaten by the darkness." "What do you mean!?" Amy cried. "Did you notice a bunch of heartless in your world?" Rubenthor asked. I looked down. "Yes. Usually I would see one or two, but that night I ran into dozens of them." "It's because the door to your world was opened completely." "What does that mean?" "There are in fact many worlds in this universe and such. Twilight Town is another world. All these worlds are naturally connected, typically allowing passage from one to the other. However, in order to prevent dangerous beings from passing through, ancient guardians locked the passages away. Their weapons were the keyblades." I looked down at my keyblade. So I wasn't the first keyblade wielder? "However, 100 years ago, during the age of Merlin, the heartless along with evil beings who wanted to control them opened the passages and started devouring the worlds into darkness. They were finally stopped by a group of legendary keyblade masters, led by a boy named Sora. Now, however, they have opened the passages again and are devouring the worlds once more. I believe you met one of those evil men." The picture of Earth disappeared and instead, Kurume appeared. "Kurume!" I growled. "Kurume is part of a group of people that intend to take over all the worlds." "But... why did they want to kill me?" Amy asked. The man looked at her. "You see, there are in fact seven princesses. If they come together and combine their power, they can unlock the gate to kingdom hearts. As history discovered 100 years ago, Kingdom Hearts is a world full of light, something that can be used to crush all the heartless. This would ruin Kurume's plans, so killing the princesses is the only way." "But....why were we saved from Earth?" I asked. "Amy, please pull up your sleeve," Rubenthor commanded. She did so, and we both jumped to see that her scar had grown. Her entire upper arm was covered with a strange design, the swirl remaining the same. "Your princess powers have awakened. One of those powers includes the transportation between the worlds. With this, you can travel to the many worlds, and save us from the heartless!" We paused for another second in awkward silence. "But, what are we suppose to do?" I asked. Rubenthor changed the picture again, this time to a large stone slab. There was a lot of writing on it, but it was in a different language I didn't know. "Merlin's son, my great grandfather, Khar, was a great traveler. He went to several worlds, exploring their culture and philosophy. On one world, he found this slab. It was written on the wall of a stone temple left behind from ancient times. On it, the writing describes another terrifying event happening at this very moment. It states that the seven keyblade wielders must reunite once more, along with the seven princesses, in order to defeat the humanoid heartless and revive the lost one." "Humanoid heartless?" I asked. Then I gasped. Dr. Hert. He must be what the slab is referring to. "That man, Dr. Hert, also escaped and is residing in one of the worlds. He is the humanoid heartless you must defeat." "So what's our job?" Amy asked. "You must search the other worlds for the other 6 princesses and keyblade wielders." "How are we suppose to find them?" "Don't worry, you'll know when you found them." "Also, who's the 'lost one'?" Amy asked. He shrugged. "It didn't say, nor did Khar ever figure it out. I guess we'll just have to find out when it happens. So, up for the task?" There was a long silence. It took a moment for all the information we just got to play inside our minds. Other worlds? This didn't make any sense. "If we defeat them, will our world come back?" Amy asked. Rubenthor nodded. We looked at each other, our eyes saying the same thing. "We're in!" we agreed. However, if only we knew that this was going to be a long, long journey.
  15. Last chapter of Book 1! Book 1: Genesis Chapter 12: The End of the Beginning That night, I stayed up late. Thinking It had been two weeks since we've gotten out of the hospital. Two weeks since my life made a turn for the weird and I had put my life in danger. Now I could barely leave my house without summoning my keyblade for protection. Heartless just continued to appear wherever Amy and I went. It was exhausting. I sat next to my window as the moon began to rise into the sky. I was beat. How long was I going to live like this until the heartless finally just kill us? Maybe I should just let them devour me so that I could finally rest in peace... I slapped myself on the head, waking myself up from that horrible thought. How could I leave Amy alone like that? She would probably hate me forever. No, I couldn't do that to her. Besides, I wanna find out more about that tattoo of hers. Kurume called her a princess and that she was "awakening." What does that mean? Amy doesn't have an idea, so how could I learn more? Suddenly, my cell phone rang. I picked it up and answered. "Hello?" I asked. "It's Amy," the voice said. She sounded just as exhausted as me. "How are you? I didn't see you today." "Yeah, I decided to stay home in order to catch up on some stuff." "I mean, how have you ACTUALLY been?" She paused for a moment. "The pain has worn down, but the scar still burns sometimes. Whenever a heartless appears, it seems to grow more and more painf-" A burst of lightning flashed through the sky, followed by a loud rumble, interrupting Amy. "It's fine now, though." "That's good, we should meet up tomorrow in order to think things out." "Like we've done everyday?" Amy giggled. We both laughed for a minute. I smiled. I haven't laughed in a while thanks to all the trouble. All the pessimistic thoughts that were just inside my head had washed away. Amy truly was my savior just like I'm hers. "So what's new with your family?" "Well, yesterday my little sister went to th-" Suddenly, there was another loud rumbling. I looked outside, but there was no lightning. Where did that sound come from? Suddenly, I could hear Amy screaming from the other side of the call. "Amy? What's wrong!?" I yelled. "It's him! It's that guy! It's Kuru-" the call ended. I growled, opening my window. I jumped out of window and landed on the ground. It wasn't raining, but it was so dark that I could barely see in front of me. Putting that thought aside, I began running to Amy's house. As I ran, it occurred to me that something strange was going on. My house was in the middle of a suburban neighborhood, and yet as I ran past all of the houses, I noticed that there were no lights on. Everyone was home, but it was completely pitch black in each house. At the same time, it was incredibly quiet. No dogs were barking, no car horns in the distance, no nothing. Just the sound of the lightning and thunder roaring above. About half a mile from Amy's a few heartless appeared. I quickly drew my keyblade and swung at them, disintegrating them. But, three more appeared after them. I killed them in a few seconds as well. It wasn't until the third group of five heartless appeared that I finally realized. Looking up and down the streets, I could see heartless crawling around. They were no longer in hiding. But why? What caused them to come out and run rampant in the streets. I dismissed the question, knowing that right now I had to get to Amy. I dispatched the last group of heartless and then continued running. I ignored all heartless after that, who then came running after me, soon turning into a large group of over twenty. When I got close, I could hear Amy's screaming. I made it to the front of her house, where I saw the scene. Her house now had a gaping hole where the front door used to be. I could see heartless coming in and out. In front of that hole stood Amy, who was being held onto by this weird monster thing. It looked like Dr. Hert, but this guy had a monstrous left arm and hand, that was much bigger than the human half. It was definitely Dr. Hert. "Amy!" I yelled. Dr. Hert looked my way, his left eye black with a little yellow pupil. A chill went down my spine. I felt the same way I did when I saw that heartless on TV. Pure terror. "Dr. Hert?" "Hmm... the boy seems to have grown stronger," Dr. Hert grinned. He turned towards me completely, still holding onto Amy, who was covered in bruises. "What did you do to her!?" I growled. "Trust me, this is nothing compared to what will happen to you and her from now on." He dropped Amy onto the ground and pointed his hand at me. Suddenly, a huge blast shot out and came straight at me. "COOPER!" Amy screamed. I jumped to the ground and the blast shot over me, hitting the ground far behind me. But the explosion was so big it almost hit me from behind. I was scared stiff. But I couldn't let Amy die. I got up and redrew my keyblade. "I'm not going to let you have her!" I yelled. I jumped at him and began to swing. Suddenly, Kurume appeared, blocking my path. "Not so fast, little boy." "I knew you would be behind this, Kurume!" "Please, this was almost all Dr. Hert's idea. I just gave him some advice." He pushed me off and snapped his finger. All the heartless that chased after me suddenly stopped. Then they began jumping onto each other, turning into one big glob. In a few seconds, they formed into giant heartless, shaped like a human. "Have fun. See you at the end of the world." "What!?" I asked, but he had then moved next to Dr. Hert. "We should go now. This world will be done with soon." Kurume told him. "But what about these two!?" he growled. "They'll be killed along with the rest of these humans. Besides, killing a princess is dangerous. It's safer to let this heartless do it." Dr. Hert paused. "Fine." Kurume held up his hand and a large purple cloud appeared. He looked back at me one more time before entering the cloud along with Dr. Hert. Soon, the cloud disappeared and they were gone. I looked at the empty space for a minute before running to Amy's side. I helped her up and she started crying into my chest. "They're gone. My family is gone! Eaten by the heartless..." she sobbed even louder. I wanted to console her, but I needed to deal with this heartless. I set her down on the ground and confronted the giant thing. "Well... here goes nothing!" I jumped at it, swinging my key blade. But with one flick of its hand I was sent to the side. I attacked again, this time from the back. I slashed its back and the monster howled. He flicked his hand behind him and kit me once more. I was sent back Amy, now covered in injuries. She grabbed me. "What do we do!?" She cried. I froze. This was heartless was impossible. How could I defeat such a thing? No I couldn't. As Kurume said, this world really was going to end. We looked up as the monster lifted his hands. Suddenly, a huge purple ball began forming in its hands. Suddenly, everything began to get sucked in, as if it was some sort of tornado. Amy continued to cry and soon tears began strolling down my face. This was the end and we both knew it. Suddenly, there was a flash of light from Amy's arm. Her sleeve was torn off once more and Amy was screaming in pain. I got up and grabbed her shoulder's shaking them so that she would stop. "Amy! Calm down!" But the light grew bigger as time grew on. Soon, it blinded me and I couldn't see. When I opened my eyes again, there was light. But it was coming from a lamp hanging on the ceiling... ceiling? I got up and looked around. I was in a small room, made out of wood. There was a green closet to my right, and a glass table and sofa on the opposite side. There on the couch was Amy, still passed out. I ran over and shook her. "Amy, wake up!" "Wha?" she said, dazed. I helped her sit up and we looked around. "Where are we?" Suddenly, a man appeared through the door that I was standing in front of and hadn't noticed. He was short and had longish white hair. He had a blue gown and a tall blue hat the bent over itself since it was so long it couldn't support itself. He smiled and waved at us. "Why, you're in Twilight Town!" -End of Book 1-
