Am I crazy for trying to install a Sims 3 from 2009 in my Windows 7 computer (doing it right now) even though it only says it works on and Vista?

I'm attempting to resurrect my old DS just for the sake of using it to play Chain of Memories. But I need to find my charger. And I need to buy the game. But the charger is hiding...
