  2. -Madam Mim, Sword in the Stone -The Centaur, other Titans, and other gods (perhaps as bonus Coliseum matches) Hercules -Cobra Jafar, Aladdin -Yen Sid, perhaps under the influence of Xehanort and you have to fight him to free him, Fantasia ^This too.
  3. I thought I saw somewhere that KHIII was coming out on both PS3 and PS4. It was a twitter post, but so help me I can't find it again. Very frustrating. If I can't find it assume I'm mistaken about it. Anyway... I agree with you on some points. I think having the whole Xehanort Saga on one console would be fantastic. However, it's likely going to be on the next generation. A "Kingdom Hearts Saga Collection" would sell like hotcakes, or at least like warmcakes, and Sony would want that on their new platform. The focus is shifting forward, and that will only become more true as time passes and we get closer to KHIII's launch. Speaking of which, KHIII isn't going to be around for a while. The longer it takes to make, the less likely the effort will be put forward to making it multi-generational. Now, I don't know if it's a sure thing cause I don't know how long it'll take to make. It's also difficult to predict how much longer this generation will bleed into the new one; people are still attached to their current consoles, and aren't necessarily in a hurry to make the jump. For all I know PS3 game sales will still matter in a few years. The real barrier to porting the system between generations is how much it depends on the new console's specs in ways that aren't graphics. The usage of RAM alone could make the process difficult. With regards to the notion of controls differences between the supposed versions, I don't expect it'll be a big departure from what we saw on the PS2. Why? Because of the Xbox One. KHIII is multiplatform, which means it's controls have to be general enough to port over between the PS4 and X1. Square can't put special touchpad controls in the game because the X1's controller doesn't have a touchpad, nor can they do motion controls because not every PS4 is going to have a Playstation Eye.
  4. Nope. BBS vol 2. hinted at a continuation of Aqua's story, as well as events in past KH games. KHIII is going to be the final entry in this saga's timeline.
  5. It doesn't seem like a great fit to me, just my opinion. I won't say the odds are zero, but they'd be a lot better if KHIII was coming to the Wii U. The notion reminded me of this old April Fool's joke from EGM...
  6. It's been too long since I last play KHII, I almost forgot what the heck limits are... I think it could go either way. They'll definitely include extra comabt options, given the Osaka team's track record on the matter. They might call it "limits" but revamp it somehow.
  7. Thanks for searching! Makes me want to go try one, haha. Always, if possible, show your product working. In the long run this probably won't affect Microsoft, but it's worth noting for people who follow the industry.
  8. I blanked out for a moment trying to figure out how many times you used the word "incredible", haha. I don't necessarily want Pixar worlds in KHIII, I'd prefer it if they stayed with the animated ones, but I do love The Incredibles, and I would definitely enjoy a world based on that movie. What could be neat is if Sora and co. have to put on disguises on the world, and assume alternate "super hero" identities in order to blend in.
  9. Here's what I think it is; they don't care about the optics in the eyes of the gamers. We're a tiny segment of the audience they are now targeting. They want the casual demographic, they want the tv watcher and the people who don't really follow this stuff, because there's a lot more of those people. If they can expand their install base to include more of the nongaming crowd, then it doesn't matter if gamers all go with a different console. The sheer amount of nongamers will make them profitable. It's sort of what Nintendo did with the Wii, only Microsoft is misteping; instead of making their console as open and available as possible, they've priced it higher than Sony's and required an internet connection for the thing to work. It's the same arrogance Sony showed at the start of last generation, they're banking too heavily on the name Xbox. When the average consumer hits the shelves, they're going to see one console for $500 and one for $400. If neither have a killer app at launch, then why would they buy the more expensive one?
  10. A while back I had a theory that the voice Sora hears at the beginning of the first KH is Eraqus. I think it's been disproven now, but I think Eraqus still has a role to play. For all we know the key (pun so intended) to defeating Xehanort lies with understanding him. Yen Sid and Eraqus knew him best. That's just wild speculation of course. While I'm on the subject, I'd love to find out who trained the three of them! Definitely. A more apt comparison might be saying it's like when TAV picked up the Keblades in the first teaser for BBS; it's symbolic of things to come.
  11. Does anybody know if the Sony demos were on PS4's, or did they have similar setups to Microsoft's? Regardless, this isn't very good optics for Microsoft...why not just run the games on the console? They are excellent at nurturing this negative narrative. Every time the news is suspicious or bad, it simply adds to Sony's lead.
  12. I see the points you're making here, Weiss, but most of these are either: A ) subjective based on the player's personal point of view B ) just as speculative as those thinking KHIII is going to be the best thing since sea-salt ice cream. For organization's sake I'm just going to comment on your points in a list, so here it goes. -Saying it's "very possible" that Square could put this game out early goes against their track record. I think that Nomura saying it was announced "too early" is actually indicative that they're taking their time with making the darn thing. Remember the "trailer" said that the game was only in development (it better be...) and didn't even give a release window. -Isn't this why Nomura's been so intent on getting the remixes done, so that the story is in one place and can be made sense of? Regardless, if you've only played the portable games, you need to expect to be lost a bit. It's just going to happen. Fortunately PS2's are dirt cheap now, so get you one and play KH1 and KH2. A more important point to make should be this; KHIII might cater too much to these, for a lack of better term "ignorant", fans, and not devote enough attention to fulfilling the saga. -Agreed, this will never work, hence the remixes. -The Pixar worlds...look, I don't really want them, but it's hardly a deal-breaker. I think it would be smarter for Nomura just to save them for the next saga. -Fans love to nitpick. In fact, that's what I'm doing right now. But that doesn't necessarily mean the game will be bad. -The Osaka team did BBS, which I loved. In many ways it's the game I'm looking forward to seeing in a potential 2.5 remix, more so than KHII. I'm willing to give them a chance, but that's just my opinion. -I agree. The trailer showed us nothing; it was little more than confirmation that the game exists, or will exist, and that they're working on it. I'd be astonished anything we saw in the trailer actually represented the final product; they reused animations and areas with a simple graphical upgrade, nothing more. That said, Nomura/Square/Osaka team would have to drop the ball pretty far to make the gameplay "terrible". I respect your opinions, though many of them seem to be searching for a reason to be pessimistic. I highly doubt it will be "the worst thing in the KH universe" this game, what with KHII Atlantica and the V Cast KH game setting the bar fairly low.
  13. PS4 up top. Based on the games they showed I gave the Wii U the second spot. If I could put Xbox One in fourth I would.
  14. I'll take KH1 Atlantica over KH2 Atlantica any day, Ursula boss fight and all. Of course I actually enjoyed the original Atlantica, so there's that.
  15. When I get one it'll be a PS4, til then I'm going to revel in the falling used PS3 game prices.
  16. Sure have, though there hasn't been much substantive news yet.
  17. My biggest fear for KHIII. Hmm. I fear it won't take itself seriously enough. I fear it will be too focused on new worlds rather than building catharsis with the characters the series already has. I fear that the worlds will stay empty sets and that the villains will never pose any real threats. I fear that they won't take risks with the game; let's see a Heartless threat resurgent, led by Xehanort, actually win conflicts. Let's see the dire straights amid the lighthearted moments. Let's see a world actually be consumed by darkness so that Sora and company can feel a real threat and know the stakes. All in all, I guess my biggest fear is that Kingdom Hearts won't mature, even a little, to cater to its aging audience that first picked up the title. But it hasn't let me down so far; BBS and DDD hit the tones I was looking for, and with the Osaka team working on KHIII, maybe my fears are unfounded.
  18. Surprising, but not too surprising. I look forward to playing it on the system that lets you play single-player games offline.
  19. I'm pro time of day changes in pretty much every case. Disney movies usually feature more than one time of day, if Disney worlds in KH followed suit I'd be okay with that. Weather conditions, meh. I'd take them, but I could leave them too.
  20. Knew it would be on the PS4, I'm fine with it. I'm ecstatic it's been announced, and I'm also assuming it will be a while before we see it in our consoles. All the more time to save up for the purchase.
  21. I went ahead and gave them a B. It wasn't catered to me, but they had a good showing.
  22. That whole last segment was Sony working Microsoft over, it was beautiful. Turns out you can keep your costs down when you don't make a motion control camera mandatory.
  23. There's been some pretty good stuff so far, though nothing really surprising. A new Star Wars Battlefront, the PvZ game, Dragon Age, AC4, Halo teaser, and whatever Sony is bringing in about an hour; that's a pretty solid show in my book. I also think Nintendo's stuff tomorrow is going to be worth the wait: Pokemon, Zelda, Mario, and Super Smash Bros. Hard to go wrong with them.
