This is just silly, extrapolating into the future Sora might get to keep dual-wielding. I think it will, but like MF/YX it will be substantially weaker, and they'll encounter it when looking for Aqua.
-
In general I agree, and the games definitely do an excellent job of showing the growth and skill of the character in their fighting stances, but I think the step back was intentional, this is a representation of a younger Sora, one who displays less experience and overconfidence, in each game the pressure to bring closure sooner increased, in Kingdom Hearts he's clueless basically until he reaches Hollow Bastion, in Chain of Memories right off the bat he encounters our villans, but it isn't until he "remembers" Naminé that he has to treat the problem seriously, and in KHII he learns of the Organization's threat incredibly quickly, and can't waste time or effort showing off. In 3Ds this isn't the case, he thinks he has to unlock Keyholes (effortless) fight some weak creatures of darkness, and the occasional boss. He can be excessive because it's fun, and he doesn't see any consequences.

Organization 13 Members Heartless?
Gambler'sApprentice replied to Caity's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Mot all Emblem Heartless were manufactured by machine, we see the creation of one in KH, I think they can create Heartless in the Datascape and then create them in Radiant Garden, and then the emblem Heartless can wander about. If the emblem Heartless could only be created from a machine they could stick Roxas and Xion in one of the nearbye rooms of Hollow BAstion and have them fight waves of Heartless. -
KH2 Sora must be starving
Gambler'sApprentice replied to Ultimosora's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
3 things... According to a friend of mine potions are a filling food, and taste delicous In the manga (and it's semi-canon at best) we often see him eating, even in CoM They could easily have food and toiletries on the gummiship -
Fighting Saïx as Roxas he would do this weird power explosion thing to silence you, but nothing like that happened in KHII. And the Days status effects were kind of odd. Flower blinded you, water transfers health when you hit a target, and earth halves your HP. The problem with moon symbolism is it's still really vague, you have lunacy/berzerker rage, and in Days stopping magic. I'd agree Xemnas is there greatest threat, but it's kind of sad it's just because he is Xehanort's nobody, his null abilties never really feature, it's just energy weaponry. When I first found out about the Mysterious Figure I was hoping (massively unrealistically I knew) it was Luxord. Then in 3Ds when Mickey casts Stopza I was hoping Luxord would get up and laugh. Now all I can hope for is that Luxord even comes back.
-
This is the one point that most irritates me in KHII, we clearly show Luxord can shuffle people out of time, but he doesn't even cast Slow or a similar spell. If he hadn't done that then I wouldn't mind, but that's a pretty advanced use of time, which is his only display of it. And I'm sure everyone is immune to thier own elemnt, but most of them I don't know how that would be represented. For instance is Saïx immune to getting hit by moonrock or does moon mean something more?

Organization 13 Members Heartless?
Gambler'sApprentice replied to Caity's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Xigbar: Silver Rock or Grey Caprice Xaldin: Emerald Blues or Spring Metal Vexen: Blue Rhapsody Lexaeus: Emerald Serenade Zexion: Black Ballade Saïx:? Axel: Red Nocturne, Crimson Jazz, or Scarlet Tango Demyx: Turquoise March Luxord: This pains me to have to use, but it is the only one to cast a time-related ability... The Pink Aria Marluxia: Pink Concerto or Green Requiem Larxene: Yellow Opera -
Saïx, who has a dialogue like this "Hey Axel, we were friends back in Radiant Garden right?" "Yeah" "Cool, so could you kill these people for me?" "Sure." *Chain of Memories* "Hey Axel, we were friends back in Radiant Garden right?" "Yeah" "Hang out with Roxas and have him think you're his friend." *Becomes friends with Roxas & Xion* "Hey Axel, we were friends back in Radiant Garden right?" "Yeah" "And you've done me some big favors right?" "Yeah" So I figure I'll let you decide whether we should kill Roxas or Xion." *Xion Dies, Roxas is captured* "Hey Axel, we were friends back in Radiant Garden right?" "Yeah" "Go kill your other friend." *Fights Roxas, loses* "Hey Axel, we were friends back in Radiant Garden right?" "Yeah" "I'm going to have you turned into a Dusk" He, who feels possibly more than anyone that desire for completion, to be a whole person, hates Xion because she isn't 'real'. And searching for some emotion, some sign of a heart, and finding nothing he gets mad. Angry. Ya know, emotional. All that said, I feel a little bad every time I beat him and he turns to Kingdom Hearts, and you know that really, all he wants is to be whole again.

Death exists, but you;re more likely to have you're world consumed by darkness (a curable phenomena) then die. That's a really strange fact. But yeah, even then death is reversible, Auron's back, Oogie Boogie's back, and in some way all the Nobodies (except Roxas) died, just they were reborn as a similar person.
-
Not really, I mean it's mostly symbolism that will make sense after you play the game, so having a slower one where you watch wierd stuff happen to people you don't know would have been rather dull.

In the Kingdom Hearts series we get a lot of moves, many of whixh can be construed as aligning with a certain Organization member's element. But sometimes we get moves that would appear to be beyond them, based on the battle with them, most notably 'Warp' which can destroy enemies entirely, which one would expect to be an ability Xigbar would have. Since he doesn't use it it sent me to thinking, just how much of a mastery do the Organization members have over their elements, and what can they do with it. Xemnas: Null-blades and black and white lightning that nullify it's targets defenses, creating holographic battles Expected from a manipulator of Null. The ability to nullify anything. People, attacks, history, anything. Xigbar: Ability to teleport himself, objects, and even the floor so as to re-direct 'bullets' and redesign the battle area. Expected from a manipulator of Space: The ability to teleport people either away from you or out of existence. Ability to render places unreachable/ invisible by means of spacial manipulation Xaldin: A shield of wind, holding multiple lances and chaining them together, high-powered jets of air (his wind-laser) Expected from a manipulator of Wind: Long-range combat excellence, storms, flight Vexen: Freezing people, throwing Ice around Expected from a manipulator of Ice: Ability to freeze anything, nearly instantly Lexaeus: ? Expected from a manipulator of Earth: Earthquakes, collapsing buildings, walls popping out of the ground, etc. Zexion: Creating illusions of himself and the keyblade, creating false realities Expected from a manipulator of Illusion: Creating any illusion they want, copying anything they see Saïx: Getting angry, stealing magical ability Expected from a manipulator of Moon: ... Ability to create portal-able surfaces? Axel: Fireballs, creating his weapons out of thin air, massive destructive blasts, lighting people on fire Expected from a manipulator of Fire: Creating and launching fire, immune to fire, if not all heat Demyx: Jets of water, water clones Expected from a manipulator of Water: Massive tidal waves, and ability to have limited control over those items with water in them Luxord: Removing people from the flow of time Expected from a manipulator of Time: Stopping, slowing, rewinding, and accelerating time, escaping from the standard flow of time Marluxia: Creating clones, Killer-mech, and summoning a Reaper Expected from a manipulator of Flower: Excellent gardening skills viscous plant growth, poison? Larxene: Use of lightning, charging up attacks and increasing speed Expected from a manipulator of Lightning: Speed and ability to control all electricity, immune to electricity Roxas/Xion: Shooting pillars of light around, keep you from seeing your map Expected from a manipulator of Light: Ability to render objects invisible, blind, possible effects relating to heat Obviously two things can be deduced First: The organization members do not fully utilize the maximum potential of their power, most likely due to inability Second: They really like making clones. So where do you think there power ends, and how would you rank the Organization members in strength? Please tell me if I miss any ability they have displayed, or one might expect and I'll add it.

Organization 13 Members Heartless?
Gambler'sApprentice replied to Caity's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Perhaps the Organization members turned into the color-music style heartless. They are weaker, yet still have an elemental inclination one could probably connect to them. -
Granted, but it runs away I wish for a controlled superpower.

KHRecoded Is this the worst KH?
Gambler'sApprentice replied to venxas24's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Personally I hate CoM, partially because I leveled Sora and Riku to Max, which meant more boring level grinding then any other game. Altogether about 115 lvls. worth. But most irritatingly it has a very small amount of plot spread over 13 floor. Both it and coded could be summarized in their own cutscenes. But at least coded had trophies and extra bosses. Once you beat MArluxia/Ansem all that's left is taking out waves of Heartless and deleting excess cards. -
KHRecoded About the trophies
Gambler'sApprentice replied to kristi-swat's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Get the required number of trophies and a new cutscene appears in your library or whatever they call it. No replay of the final world is necessary. -
I think it's a mixture of both, Aqua did things to Castle Oblivion to allow it to be used as away to explore memories using cards, the Organization doesn't seem to bother with it, but since they want to mess with Sora they make him do it. The card battle system is just a way of representing what they do, so Sora uses the cards as memories, while they just hit him in the face.

KH1 ultima weapon vs x-blade
Gambler'sApprentice replied to Hazimie's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
X-Blade's more powerful, but if it were an option to wield ever, I don't think I would, it looks ridiculously unwieldy. -
Organization 13 Members Heartless?
Gambler'sApprentice replied to Caity's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Kurt Zisa He creates a magic shield and shuts off your magic, you hit him, he loses the shield, do some damage, and then repeat. It's more exciting then that, but that's about it. -
KH2 What did you first think of the secret movie?
Gambler'sApprentice replied to P50L's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
My first thoughts were that I might get to use that armor, or at least similar armor, in a game, which made me pretty excited. Followed by a profound shoock at the Keyblade Graveyard that basically lasted all the way until Ven, who I knew couldn't be Roxas (I'd finished Days already), froze, and he's tossed down the cliff, where his keyblade shatters, and I thought it was his arm. Then his eye flashing and I was sure that was agony. I saw Aua do some awesome things, ie long distance reflega, and decided this was a BAMF, and Xehanort brought Kingdom Hearts out, which confused me, since that had already happened. -

I've actually done this since KHII, trying to decide what works best. I had two requirements, they ad to be boss-level heartless, and they had to only appear once. Xemnas- Ansem Obvious Xigbar- Phantom Tail Warps around Dilan- Kurt Zisa he creates a shield and wields multiple weapons, there's more than one windstorm Vexen- Avalanche or Blizzard Lord Ice, duh Lexaeus- Infernal Engine or Antlion I thought groundshaker at first, but according to your journal it's a summation of all the hallucination Scars Zexion- Crimson Prankster Because it crates/ heals it's duplicate or something... really wish the mimic master were a heartless Saïx- Ruler of the Sky It gets mad, and needs to be punched in the face Axel- Trickmaster or Volcano Lord FIRE! Demyx- Wavecrest or Blizzard Lord Der water Luxord- Phantom His doom time-related ability Marluxia Grim Reaper or Leech Grave His third form has an Angel of Death behind him, but the leech grave is some sort of evil plant demon Larxene- Pot Centipede Um... it uses lightning and has antennae Roxas- Shadow -
KH2 What would you want in a 'dream' remake?
Gambler'sApprentice replied to Uncle Dolan's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Final mix content with improved Boss Battles at least for the Nobodies. Playing trough I was rather disappointed with the battles consider... A lancer with the full power of the Wind... attacks with close range and wind laser-dragons, all while warping about (not as badly as Xigbar, but still, WTF? Someone who can remove 4 people from the time stream with a snap of his fingers... challenges me to a mini-game during which time I can steal his powers and the worst he can do is transform me into a game piece A whatever Saïx is with a practically free range of possibilities since his element is 'moon'... throws his weapon around and if I pick it up and hit him with it he calms down. A sith-lord with the ability to create and form nothingness, capable of immense power... teleports around while I easily dodge, all whlle wearing a zebra suit. I don't know what to say for Demyx because just thinking about that battles puts me in shock. WHERE DID THAT COME FROM? and Xigbar was handled fairly well. Obviously the Luxord battle makes most angry, especially with BBS' Mysterious Figure, which showed they know how awesome a time-manipulator can be. -
KHDays Was Xion an afterthought...?
Gambler'sApprentice replied to Xenidal's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
There have been three self-contained games in the Kingdom Hearts series thus far Kingdom Hearts (obviously), Birth by Sleep (excluding the final cut-scene), and Days (however it would be one of the most depressing games in existence then). However future titles depend on the events that happened there. Both Birth by Sleep and DAys introduced new plot points that would be of greater importance as the series progressed. Birth by Sleep introduces us to 5 new Keyblade wielders, one of whom is our main antagonist throughout the series, and three of whom need to be rescued. Days shows us the Organization members as more than our simple antagonists who we have to fight, explains Axel's actions, and shows character dynamics, particularly between Axel and Saïx (which if our dramatic revelation as to him working for Xehanort are any sign, means Axel's going to have Drama. Oh. Yay.), and again, introduces us to a new keyblade wielder. Our lost comrades are the subject of coded, lead into 3Ds, and will no doubt be driving points for at least the start of the next game in the series. Xion wasn't an afterthought, but in Kingdom Hearts II, with everyone making comments as to Sora/Roxas, and vague references to the events of Days it would have been ever so much mre confusing if we had them commenting about some girl the players had not met, had no knowledge of, and the only way to have made it possible would have been to... Extend the week-long prologue so Roxas can fill us in Have Axel appear to Sora and explain in a concise manner exactly what happened Have one of the Organization members do this, but with less information Any character whose lifespan existed only in Days could not have effectively been discussed, there are no mentions of the Castle Oblivion crew for similar reasons, it's not the Organization's job to give Sora a biography on their life, it's their job to get him to hit things with his keyblade. -
KH3D |SPOILER| Oh ....My....God
Gambler'sApprentice replied to Dio Brando's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
As a life-long fan of science fiction I have plenty of experience with convoluted time-travel plots, but the requirements introduced in this game, while preserving the time-line, make it rather difficult to follow. The closest example I can think of is Quantum Leap, where someone's spirit jumps about the time-line of their own life. From what I understood you can time-travel repeatedly, but only for a certain length of time. It's analgous to being allowed to leave a room for 15 minutes, during which time you may do whatever you wish, entering it or other rooms again, though with the caveat some version of yourself must be present. However at the end of the 15 minutes you have to resume. From what I can discern here is the chain of events Ansem, Seeker of Darkness visits Destiny Islands, and gives his well-known speech about ignorance and the darkness of the world. Young Xehanort is either magically contacted or randomly decides to see what his island will look like in several decades, and, with the presence of SoD travels there. He is sent into the realm of dreams with Sora, providing a focal point for Xemnas, and able to enter Sora's mind as a focal point for SoD. Whom he had persuaded to team up with him for reasons unknown. He makes fun of Sora for being kind of dumb, and then Sora reaches The World that Never Was he feeds the nightmares in Sora so he will be consumed by darkness. Riku frees himself from the realm of dreams, and encounters the New Organization XIII, specifically Master Xehanort, most likely from BBS era, as the Rejoining of Xemnas and Ansem, Seeker of Darkness should have created either Apprentice Xehanort (our best case scenario) or Terranort (which would seem to be the case based on Xigbar asking him if he'd regained his memories. If he had seen Master Xehanort that would be a pretty definite yes, but we saw him wielding MX's keyblade.) It's possible MX could have been formed, but it rather takes away the point of him stealing Terra's body, which he wanted because it was younger and stronger than his own. The Xehanort incarnations disappear as they are sent to their own time. This still leaves the question of how Young Xehanort, Xemnas, and Seeker of Darkness can be part of the Keyblade war, and put simply I think they won't. Xehanort can't risk using these people if any of their destruction would ruin the time-line and prevent his modern existence. However he still has 12 members of organization XIII that can fill in. Or, and this theory I will admit I'm biased towards, Luxord can do some time-warping and bring the past incarnations back, but that still leaves Xehanort exposed. And I'd just like to say their has yet to be an official Kingdom Hearts spin-off game, the closest you can get is a kid's game on Disney's site which is a spin-off of Days. Every single game so far has been vital to the plot, I'll admit coded and CoM could have been folded into thier own cutscene, removing the need for the game, but without knowledge of the events talked about there the series would make no sense. I have no doubt tis will become more obvious with the arrival of KHIII which should tie them all together. Which is why you're right, everything they've got has to depend on KHIII.
