Final battles in KH3
Rhiscx replied to MasterRoxas13's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
I would absolutely love to see something new/unique for the final battle with Master Xehanort (assuming that's the form he's in for the big showdown). We already had the multiple location, 20 minute brawler for the finale of KHII, so if they can come up with something just as monumental but differently structured, I'd just cry with excitement. -
I've been thinking about the future of Kingdom Hearts lately, and about the continuation of the series after the end of the Xehanort or Dark-Seeker Saga. And it's not like I need to be thinking about this when we're still a couple of years out from even KH3 being released. But, still. Is there anyone else considering calling it quits after KH3? I mean, not being as avid of a follower of the series? Because, my opinion on literally any ongoing piece of media (tv, film series, video games, etc.) is that it's better to end it with a bang than drag it out. I'd much rather see a really satisfying conclusion to a series that I love than watch it be stretched out for the sake of money and milking all of the things that we loved about the series in the first place out of it. I don't know. There's always a chance that the next saga could be just as exciting, engaging, and worth the years of devoted fanhood. But, it's hard to fight the thought that the same feeling from Kingdom Hearts 1 cannot be recreated, at least not as well. Okay, rereading that makes me sound like some over-dramatic wuss. But, it's just something I've been thinking. Bottom line is Nomura will have to make a really quality game to kick off the next saga to keep me coming back. Anyone else experiencing similar thoughts?

Umm...where in the credits of Kingdom Hearts I did it show the Beast transformed back into a human? That wasn't seen until the credits of KHII, which would have made sense if the fight with Gaston and subsequent transformation happened while Sora wasn't there...not trying to start an argument, just confused by your logic. I think that clip in KHII was Nomura's way of showing that the Beauty and the Beast storyline is now over.

If they could find a reason to say that the ending of Beauty and the Beast hasn't happened already (ergo credits of KHII), I'd be down to return to the Castle and fight Gaston. I love the character, but I don't want to see him there unless they can really have a reason for it. Looks like the story is over for that world, but who really knows. As for the village being its own world, no way. Make it an add-on to Beast's Castle if you will, like the Underworld to the Coliseum, but it would make no sense for it to be a world of its own.

Yeah, they kind of let that one go by the wayside and used "Disney Imagination Magic" to hope we wouldn't think about it again. I know I shouldn't care, it's a game, but revivals without explanation really bug me. Like, if basic rules of existence can be whisked away so easily, who's to say that anyone else can't just be "remembered" back to life? After that clip when I first played the game, I just went ".......wut?", and then hoped they would explain it. Nope. That was 8 years ago. Still confused.

I was BLOWN AWAY with how they handled the Fantasia world in DDD. One of the most beautiful and unique worlds in the entire series. And I was legitimately doubtful that they could pull it off with the lack of a plot in the movie. So, if they can pull it off again, I'd be interested. Although I do like the original Fantasia pieces a tad better.

Very good point about the Lilo and Stitch thing. Maybe it feels different because we were never shown much of the rest of the universe in the movie, so it doesn't feel as huge? Hmm. In any case, I still have to disagree. Maybe it'll get in and I'll be surprised that it works, but we'll just have to see. I'll try to withhold judgment until the game actually comes out. On another note, I'm considering renaming this thread "How to properly have a Civilized Discussion/Disagreement/Debate on the Internet". The worlds of Youtube and IMDB could seriously benefit from this.

I truly do respect your opinion on this. It's much better reasoning than pretty much any other argument I've heard for it so far ("But guyz, I want a lightsaber keyblade wouldn'tthatbejustthecoolest") However, I still feel like Disney has too much to offer of its own library to start using such properties as Star Wars. Of course I want variety and new developments for this game, new worlds are the best! But I want them to pull from what they've been building for years, not what they just bought a year ago. It would all feel too forced in for my taste. When you're talking about this game's story, you cannot have one of the worlds' individual plotlines become bigger than the overarching story they're trying to tell with the series. For instance, BBS was a brilliant story. But if Star Wars was a world in that game, don't you think that incorporating that huge of a universe would kind of overshadow the story already being told? The Disney worlds help to move the plot along and allow interesting locations for the action to take place in, but the game can never forget what it's trying to do in the first place. Also on that note, I want VERY much for Pixar to be included. Pixar sprang from Disney, and when you get right down to it, it is Disney rather than just being owned by it. I want Incredibles and Toy Story worlds so bad it hurts. But they just feel more like they belong to me, more than Star Wars I mean.

Wellllll, the Goofy thing is a little different and I think we all know that. I think that if the Disney character in question HAS already died in their respective movies, then they are free game. (Ergo, Jafar is dead. Ursula is dead. Oogie Boogie is dead. Scar is dead. Etc. etc. etc.) Not saying they can't be revived, because Lord knows everybody gets at least one.
-
No. No no no no no no no no. Freaking NO. Star Wars may be owned by the Disney Corporation, but my God it is not Disney. There is a distinct difference between what is owned by Disney, and what was created by Disney. If they want to maintain the atmosphere that they have established with the previous games, they need to let Star Wars be its own thing and keep it the ruddy hell away. Literally, Star Wars and Marvel are the very last things that I want to see in this game. I will lose it if either make it in. Kingdom Hearts is not supposed to be some fanboy-riddled fanfiction mess with every huge franchise they can think of shoved in where it doesn't belong.

What if Kairi dies?
Rhiscx replied to Shard the Gentleman's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
My reaction if Kairi dies: "Boooooooooooooooooooo. F**king boooooooooooooo. You're a better storyteller than this, Nomura. Come up with something that will actually leave a lasting effect on me rather than killing off a character you forgot about for the sake of trying to make people sad. This is stupid." My reaction if Riku dies: "All right, this is going in a better direction. But they better do it right. Give the man a proper send-off, and don't make it about Sora raging and avenging his death. We've seen it done to death. Be creative with this ending. Lord knows we've waited long enough for it." My reaction if Sora dies: "...........wut?" -
Pocahontas deserves to be represented, finally. It's the last film of the Disney Renaissance period (1989-1999) that hasn't been put in yet. Well, apart from Rescuers Down Under, and they would probably need to do Rescuers first. Plus, I reallllllllly want Princess and the Frog and Tangled. I don't know why I love those films so damn much, but I think it's because I feel they were the start of Disney's recovery phase. Their films lately have been pretty stellar.

The Muppets in Kingdom Hearts 3?
Rhiscx replied to Hoshiko Hikari's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
I could definitely see them as a summons, but not too sure about a whole world....as much as a Tim Curry boss fight would be just the best. -
My biggest thing about returning worlds is make sure there is a point, a reason to bring them back. I'm getting real sick of Hercules, but I'd be willing to go back if there were more areas to explore (Olympus feels likely to me). But as for most others, I really don't want to go back unless there is still a story to be told. If Beast is now a human as the end credits suggested, just end it. I love Gaston with a passion, but I don't want to fight him just for the sake of fighting him. Have a real driving purpose to continue those Disney stories. Like, Halloween Town needs to not come back. Love the world, but it's been drained dry of what it has to offer. Same with Aladdin, except for King of Thieves and that movie was terrible.
-
I would hope so, by now. We all know Nomura wants to use it as a world, he's tried twice now to get it included. It just didn't work with the first game since it already had Tarzan, and Birth by Sleep even had concept footage but it probably was getting too stuffed/close to a deadline or something. But I could totally see him including it this time around

I have a confession to make...
Rhiscx replied to Shard the Gentleman's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
I have a deeply rooted love for Riku because of his character development and relation to Sora and Kairi. I still find his essentially giving up of Kairi to Sora despite the love he obviously still holds for her as admirable and poetically tragic. It's fantastic story work. However, I think the aspect of Riku that I dislike is his ongoing battle with the darkness inside of him. I mean, it's another great arc for him. The first game saw his fall from grace, and then throughout most of the remaining series, he was trying to redeem himself, which in my opinion finally happened in KHII. Now, it came back again in DDD, and it'll likely play a part in KHIII since Ansem SOD is back again to harass him some more. I don't know, I was watching the cutscenes in DDD between him and Ansem and just thought "I've seen all of this already." At this point, he's tried eliminating the darkness, running away from it, hiding in denial about it, accepting it, and using it as a tool. It's starting to get old. I would love to see the next game add something new to spice it up, but we'll have to see.
