Let me show you something, then ask you about it.
Kirux replied to Nweintraub's topic in Random & Forum Games
Is that Dissidia screenshot? Almost looks like the crystal world or whatever it was called. If I am to base a judgement on that alone, I would have to say no unless they are working on a new Dissidia game. -

This is a long post. Just to warn you. Firstly, my main complaints with FFXIII was the game play, so much so that I couldn't finish the game. I felt limited in where I could go and what I could do, and I felt they automated the characters a bit too much. Sure FFXII had the gambit system, but I still spent a lot of time in the menus casting spells. Needless to say, I was expecting something more from XIII and stopped not to far into the game. I never tried FFXIII-2, and I try not to comment on it. I heard it was okay, but I'm not motivated enough to confirm this myself. My comment on why it needs to end isn't because I hate video game sequels, or even games that end in cliffhangers. If I did hate them, I don't think I would be on a KH website, seeing as KH is maybe the mother of all cliffhangers. There is one MAJOUR difference KH and FF though; KH is meant to be a series of connected plot related games, with each main game continuing the plot of the previous. FF has a long standing tradition of all of their main titles being unrelated whatsoever, while each individual title presents the player with a beautiful expanse world, amazing storyline, and gorgeous music. Sure, occasionally along the way they had a numered title sequel; FFIV The After Years, which came years after ward and didn't take away from the development of other FFs, and FFX-2. Now if I recall correctly, X-2 came out around the same time of XI, maybe about a year later. This makes sense, seeing as not everyone is into MMORPGs, but still wanted a new FF game. FFX was another game I didn't particularly like, but that was more because I dislike nearly every character. I played FFX-2 mostly because my dad bought it for me, thinking it was FFXII. I played it as to not disappoint him and I really rather enjoyed the style of play, the story and characters were still irritating, but it was fun. Nothing was released for FF except side games and FFXI expansions until FFXII came out in 2006. After FFXII, which I played and have played many times I love the shit outta that game, there were some spin offs and side games but nothing happened until FFXIII in 2009. I got into the hype a little, played it, was majourly disappointed and walked away. As did many people. Almost everyone I know. FFXIV was a bust of a MMO that was released far too early, and a couple months after it was released we got FFXIII-2. This seems to be a pattern for Square and their online FFs, they seem to know that not everyone is interested, so they release a sequel to the last numerical title to tide us over for the next one in the series. I, however; don't want to wait another three years for FFXV. And all this FFXIII centric madness that has possessed SE seems to just be adding to that time. If FFXIII-3 is coming out, and we're all still waiting for Versus, and they have a dev team trying to fix FFXIV...that leads me to believe that they haven't even started FFXV yet. This greatly disappoints me, seeing as how a majority of the fanbase is waiting for it, but they keep giving us games a good portion of us don't care about. This is why I would love to see them have morphed Versus into FFXV, but I know they won't because it has 6 years of FFXIII Versus labeling attached to it. I am an avid fan of Final Fantasy. It's the entire reason I am a gamer, and the only reason I played Kingdom Hearts. I *have* played all the numerical titles; and a vast majority of side games. I may not have finished them all, but I still tried playing them. FInal Fantasy is one of those franchises where you DON'T have to love every title to still be a fan of the series. There is, however; a point at where every person draws a line. All of the FFXIII shit year after year is wearing me, and many many others, thin. We're tired of the same title every year, especially seeing as A LOT of us don't even like the game it was based on. This is why everyone says the Final Fantasy series is dying, and sometimes I start to believe them. If their huge annoncement is FFXIII-3 and not Versus I will be hugely disappointed, and my faith in SE to continue the FF series will be severely dashed.

Is the number of Dream Eaters presented in KH3D enough in your opinion?
Kirux replied to Lu Xun's topic in Poll of the Week
While someof them were rather cute (I'm looking at you Frootz Cat, Meow Wow, and Sudo Neku) I felt that a majority of them were useless and just too difficult to get. Out of all the dream eaters, I truly only used 6 and, even if I wanted to use a new one I just made, there was no reason for me to. The new one paled in comparison to a dream eater whose link board I had already started to clear, if not fully cleared already. The amount of work that has to go into amassing the hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of LP to clear some boards were just frustrating sometimes and ended with me playing 15 water barrels at a time, adding unnecessary hours of gameplay to my game clock. -

I know I would~ Riku just like getting stuck in things. In my game during Traverse Town he got stuck in a wall after delinking with a spirit. He was just stuck there, like a ballerina, toe all pointed for a landing while the spirits killed all of the enemies and just started running around. This happened with nearly a full drop bar, right by the door to third district. Needless to say I was mildly irked.

I said the ENTIRE time of DDD "this is the perfect love story between Riku and Sora all the need to do is make out in the end." CLOSE ENOUGH.

In my opinion FFXIII just kinda needs to stop. Release versus and just sort of move on.

I am mostly quoting you to get your attention, and not trying to make this feel like a discredit or an position to your feelings at all. it was mostly the fact that I am subscribed to a youtube channel where an upload was made that instantly made me think of this thread. It's more of like a different view of looking at the college question, I hope you at least find it informational. (Remember, I didn't go to college or even a trade school so I am not preaching anything here.)

KH3D [Spoilers] Foreshadowing throughout the game
Kirux replied to Kirux's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Are there any other cases of foreshadowing, besides Riku's shirt? which I seriously didn't get until it was pointed out. -
Game Theory: Final Fantasy VII, Who Killed Aerith?
Kirux replied to coolwings's topic in General Discussion
If I had my way it would have been me. Good for you Cloud and/or Sephirorth. MAYBE THEY WERE IN CAHOOTS TO OFF HER! -
Writing a story isn't really development, it's planning in my opinion, Development of a game, to me, is much more about the game's software, animation, and things that mean the game is actually being developed. Nomura sitting at home just kind of scratching out story ideas doesn't really provide us with any real proof the game is underway. Hell he wrote the original KH story line about 3-4 years before it went into development

I find Riku gets his ass kicked fairly easily near the end of the game. I don't know if I just didn't have the right stat boosts (even though I had 2/3 def and 3/5 HP boosts) I didn't even use Sacrifice on him, his HP just gets torn through. Because of this, I actually had him equipped with two Curagas at end game, and full Magic Haste.

So, do to a save file overwriting accident, I've been replaying DreamDrop over again. Most of the cutscenes I've been skipping, except for ones I found truly important to the plot. I'm in The Grid at the moment playing through Sora's story and I just got to the point where I'm about to fight Rinzler. The dialogue for the beginning of the cutscene got to me; "Combatant 13 versus Rinzler." When you take into mind that YMX and the new Org 13 were basically controlling Sora through his dreams to make him the 13th member of the true Org, I find this more than coincidental, and kind of neat. Does anyone else know of any little hints and foreshadowing through the game? I know I should prolly just watch ALL the cutscenes....but I really don't want to. Some worlds (I'm looking at you Cites des Cloches) are just so boring.

Omg isn't this thread supposed to be about the theory that DreamDrop was the Beta for BBS and not a pissing match over how balanced DreamDrop may or may not be in comparison to other games in the franchise? If there's any proof to this Beta theory, I would love to read about it. It would be a very interesting bit of trivia to know, imho.
