Marvel as a concept won't work unless there are literally 6+ worlds based purely around marvel characters, but that won't work because most of the most popular teams work out of New York, so it would just be weird to have Times Square in one world but not to have it in another. Also, most of kingdom hearts over developed themes are the power of friendship,...marvel is allllllll about conflict even between fellow heroes, honestly, it would be a disservice to marvel to have wolverine and cyclops get an encouraging speech from sora about working together. It just screws with the marvel universes established characterization. Another thing, the party roster, the only person that would work would be Spider-Man, he's a solo kind of guy for the most part, but the xmen? Fantastic four? Avengers? No way, because I swear if they gave you a lineup of all those heroes yet not allow any FF characters in your party during radiant garden, id be effed. Starwars is also something that might not work due to how the franchise takes place over a huge location in the universe, so either luke and the gang (original trilogy only please) don't have the Death Star, don't have the moon of Endor, or cloud city, but instead just play out those key scenes in KH specific world's, it just won't work.

We've already used most of the best disney movies, it's mostly down hill from here until we finally get to use Pixar movies, but 20+ more movies for a whole new trilogy, the bottom of the barrel WILL be scrapped by then, hat's not even counting the nonnumbered titles we will most likely be getting. And then we will be forced to play marvel and starwars worlds...that would just be the worst of the worst.

A reboot isn't that bad of an idea, I mean, especially after the way 3d already f'ed up the story, I don't think I'd want it to be used to thread the plot line of all 7 games together, because if that's were the case, nomura could have just done that with the HD remixes, but I do think KH needs to go back to its roots After the SoD saga and stick to Disney villains being the main threat WHILE orchestrating plans with KH villains. Hell add some flavor and bring some more FF villains, would love to see kefka making plans with yzma, or the emperor from FFII with the horned king...if we don't get black cauldron in KH3, I give up on the series.

But what's the gravitational pull of the planet? Is it less than equal to or more than earth's? If it's equal to or more than, were better off just making a space colony on an asteroid or moon, that way humanity will be able to evolve into new types (sorry, I really want to live in the gundam universe) And how far away is this planet? Is it worth sending people up there if it will take years to reach it? You might as well start a colony if you're going take that long to gather resources to sustain life for a three year or however long trip.
-
Very interesting, but unless it gives humanity a reason to create gundams and pick people from all nations to pilot and combat a new found alien threat...I pass. But seriously, as long as we can migrate there in the near future (when I say near, I mean like thousands of years in the future) it's not going to help us much except with a sliver of knowledge about the universe They need to hurry up and perfect cryostasis, I want to see the future full of mecha already.

KH Theory: Why is Sora so "childish"?
outbackjim21 replied to AzuraJae's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
You don't need a theory for goku because the story itself explains it later with the saiyan retcon, until then, he is a boy who lived on a mountain alone with his grandpa, and unlike gohan(son) who actually was taught arithmetic and such, goku only learned about fighting. This coincided with his saiyan heritage, and you really shouldn't call goku dumb, to call anyone who is a master of anything dumb, is to call someone like Einstein dumb because he doesn't know computers. And another thing goku's happy to lucky attitude is also explained (later in the story) because he hit his head erasing all the pure violence and negativity that comes with being a saiyan, while keeping his mom's kindness. So honestly, until the saiyan retcon, you really could come up with theories regarding why goku was the way that he was, I mean when you can be a pure hearted boy yet still be able to go on murderous rampages without a guilty conscience...that's actually kind of a problem. And if you think im referring to great ape, no I'm not, he has been shown killing literally hundreds of red ribbon soldiers and he is laughing the entire time treating it like a game.Anyway, my point stands that you can essiently theorize anything about a character until their backstory tells you otherwise. And sora is, in all intent and purposes normal, he is friends and aligned with super beings in terms of destiny, but he himself is normal. There is nothing special about him, he does something literally anyone can do, just open your heart to others and follow it to the best of your ability, him opening up his heart to ventus wasn't special, him gaining the keyblade when it would have went to anyone in the vicinity wasn't special, him defeating ansem SoD and the Org XIII, though they were great feats in off themselves they don't make sora special in the sense that you guys are trying to make him out to be. Truth is he just did what he thought was right, and that lead him to do great things. Xehanort confirms how ordinary he is in 3d, Sora himself confirms that he isn't special in 3D. The fricking director goes on record to say that he isn't special. I'm really not sure how else to explain it to you guys.- 21 replies

Well there are a couple of theories regarding this, my personal favorite is that it is the animation of a person who has been slain by a keyblade and are then transferring their heart to another, Sora's "death" is the only one that kind of negates this theory, but not really as I would like to think that he transferred his heart into a shadow, rather than an emblem heartless which would have symbolized his heart being captured by darkness. But yeah, I will have to look at vanitas' death again to see if the animation is used, but if it is could help us to see about his return.

KH Theory: Why is Sora so "childish"?
outbackjim21 replied to AzuraJae's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
If you play 358 days, you'll see that most of KH2 Sora'scombos actually come from Roxas, seeing as while sora slept, roxas was training for a whole year( another reason why Roxas is stronger in my opinion) but anyway, roxas has had much longer time to train with the keyblade based on the timeline presented in 358 ultimania. And with the merging both plotwise and game mechanic wise Roxas transferring all of his abilities to sora, it makes sense he would take all of his innate combos. ...that probably puts another hole in your bubble about sora doing things for himself, but yeah, it's the truth......Roxas could crush sora in a fair fight...let the flame war begin.- 21 replies

KH Theory: Why is Sora so "childish"?
outbackjim21 replied to AzuraJae's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Soooo much text, I can't remember everything that was contradictory but the thing that stood out the most is that sora doesn't hate the darkness, he dislikes those who use it for it evil. Like Riku, sora accepts darkness as an eternal entity of the KH, to sora, darkness does not equal evil. As for sora trying to hide his emotions, it makes sense, but depression, or negative emotions aren't really the act of giving into darkness itself, Terra and the Beast were shown to be giving into darkness by going into blind rage demanding more power, the rage made them use darkness, but not give into it per se, though there have been characters, who were strictly evil I must first say, who were able to summon heartless with dark emotions, but I'm not sure if it's the same thing. Though in 3d, sora is dragged into darkness...for reasons (will never understand how he did just because he was chasing visions and feeling heartache, but whatever, crappy writing is crappy writing) involving emotions, so maybe your idea comes to head within 3d. Also, nomura has gone on record to state that sora isn't special, he was never meant to be, he was always meant to represent the average person, that if you just follow your heart you can do great things yourself. And about sora using Ven's fighting style, no, no he is not, far from it, his style comes from years of training(playing?) with riku, tidus, wakka, and selphie on DI. Also dual wielding stems from having two hearts that are capable of wielding keyblades, Roxas did awaken it however. Also I'm honestly not sure if sora IS still using Riku's keyblade or not, and if Riku simply got a new one, or vice versa, nomura never really elaborated on that, though honestly I think Riku's way to dawn actually shows us the process of how to actually forge a keyblade from nothing. In one the nomura reports, nomura states that soul eater was an intermediary for Riku's keyblade, it's possible that a person destined for one can make it out of any weapon he has a special bond with and from the memories regarding that weapon he can make a keychain and place it on that weapon making a keyblade...but that's a theory for another day. If you'd like, I can try and dissect each paragraph at a time, but for the most part, even without rereading most of the article, much of your theory holds up for the most part, though- 21 replies

I see your point, but you have to realize that A. Within BBS especially, the trio were trained to stay away from people in outside world's unlike sora who was doing whatever he could to help others, but even so, the BBS still couldn't sit back as agents of darkness (the very thing they have to defeat) are trying to have their way. So it's understandable as to why they help Disney residents yet don't talk to Regular NPCs. And and B. when it comes to sidequests,...did we play the same FM? You have the CoR, Sephiroth, Coliseum, secret bosses, and mushroom XIII, that's just in KH2. I mean, I like the style of how the NPCs are now, they talk about world specific things, look at the traverse town/Mulan world. They do disclose information about their circumstances, just world specific. If I wanted to talk to people that couldn't help me, I'd just go outside and talk to my next door neighbors. KH's style of interacting with NPC's has always been about getting a feel of what's currently happening story wise within that specific world, there is no reason to change that. Now when it comes to more final fantasy stuff, I agree somewhat, but the fact that you mentioned caccoon makes me doubt you have KH in your best interest, seeing as XIII epitomizes everything you just said in your argue ment about what needs to change in KH, also the fact that lightning is literally a gender flipped version of Cloud (lightning cloud...get it?) but anyway, final fantasy only lends characters and items to the KH series, there's no reason to add specific FF world, because when they do then nomura will literally be scrapping the bottom of the barrel, not to mention that most of the characters that nomura has access to(those he has personally designed) have already been established as living in KH specific worlds, so if you're looking to replay the story of X in KH...rofl. And to be honest, you have the wrong idea of the series becoming more Disney oriented flipped on its head. KH1 was truly the most disney oriented, after that, complicated plot lines and intense villian characterization took over, more alongside the Final fantasy aspect of things. So yeah...

Can this be a thing please
outbackjim21 replied to Kittenz's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
Are you sure you definitely say she's a virgin? I mean her main love interest being gone for over a year, both of them symbolically affirming their love in their secret spot. And just saying, but to apply her virginity to her being pure in the KH sense of the term is pretty sexist in itself. Virginity itself is a somewhat sexist term itself, placing a value on an abstract concept meant to keep a woman from having sex and saving herself for a man. And as far as it has been shown, though Kairi does have Namine's heart inside of her(even though Namine herself hasnt shown signs of growing a heart) Namine is currently shown to not be a keyblade wielder, if she was, then marluxia wouldn't need sora during COM. So Kairi would Atleast be unable to dual wield without confirming Namine as a wielder. Second, even if she could dual wield, I'm not sure if she would be able to wield both sora AND Riku's keyblade at once, seeing as both keyblades belong to two seperate people while other dual wielders have used their own keyblade in conjunction with another's (except Roxas, but he's a special case). Either way, the chance of this exact picture happening is pretty small. -
Coded was an episodic KH game, its final episode was released a couple of months before BBS was released and after 358 days i believe, there is no reason for there not to be a stronger foreshadowing emphasis on these two games, 358 did it very well in relation to BBS. I didnt miss the point i already mentioned the hurt part of the story being altered a tad, but the plot point of anything growing a heart even a program is still relevant to the main series. As for the drop gauge, its not a terrible mechanic. The plot made the mechanic necessary seeing as sora prepares to awaken riku is about to fall asleep vice versa, it adds to the meta/atmosphere of the game. I wasnt refering to you specficslly, just people who complained for the wrong reason and want their hands held, And i will swim through all the scum in the world rather than hear people complain about a game mechanic that places the gamer in control if they want to be in control, if there were no drop me nots, that'd be a different story, but my main complaint is about how people complain about how the drop gauge "sneaks up on them" its like saying "i didnt know my health was so low they should automatically pause the game and allow me to access potions if my health falls below 50%". Im sorry, but im a fan of plot adding to game mechanics, where people complain about the coop in the souls series, i fricking love it, it does nothing but add to the lore and atmosphere of the game.

Man, why do i always get stuck with the icky jobs, i always have to white knight BBS. Okay i know this is a how to make your least favorite game better and i will get to that, but first i need to defend some points that you made regarding BBS. First off to any person who has played the original games and then final mix, i have a strong feeling that most of the people who already experienced destiny islands and especially twilight town grew bored of it a as a turtorial worldthe second time through.Thats why LoD is so short, heck even allows you to skip the entire tutorial itself. When the main gameplay of the game is taught, there is no need to drag out the exposition, the only reason that its done in KH1/2 is because we need to see how SKR get along, and in KH2 we need to discover the mystery that is roxas, but with BBS all of that is taken care of in flashbacks and the characters actually progressing through the story while constantly thinking of each other. to quote my main man hayner "whats important isnt how often we see each other, but how often we think about each other." To not know how they care about each other is just belligerently ignoring half of their internal monologues (something that from my current knowledge is a first for the series) hell if you payed attention to the one battle that they had in RG where all three stories intersect at one point, it shows the tragedy and flaws in their choices, if they had just worked together instead of seperately, things would have probably worked out better for them. That was just a giant slap to the players face making it so damn obvious, but they choose not to...fricking eraqus, the root of half the problems in the KH series. When it comes to nothing happening in disney worlds,...thats kind of a thing within the series, the events in the disney worlds arent meant to effect the main story, sora, or whoever is traversing that world is simply meant to learn something regarding themselves or about the main events. The only worlds off the top of my head that actually progressed the main storyline in a KH game are monstro and neverland(KH1) and thats only because riku appeared in both, and i suppose space paranoids aswell, but other than those nothing signifcant happens in any other disney world aside from princesses being captured or organization members being shown, but if you consider that fundamental then the mere finding of the princesses in BBS should be substantial enough to make the worlds in BBS relevant. And as for uniqueness between worlds, terra ven and aqua did get seperate access to various worlds, they each got to fight unique disney bosses, off the top of my head, terra got the magic mirror, aqua got dragon malificent, and ven got lucifer the cat from cinderella. Aqua was also the only one to traverse malificent's castle and fought her minions. But honestly, how else would the characters not be able to have their stories overlap, they are literally chasing after each other, so one would see the effects of what another character did just before traveling there themselves. That doesnt make much sense. It was also a plot point as to how aqua saw(or atleast thought she saw) terra doing bad things while traveling which is why they got into a fight and split up again in the first place. What youre asking for is for the characters to not interact whatsoever and do their own thing with absolutely no consequences for the other characters, might as well add time travel...And in what way was roxas lonely, he had friends and he had rivals and the entire town seemed to care for him, even if none of it was real, it was real to him. Though it did come crashing down, during those 7 days, you can argue that they were some of the happiest days of his lifeThat'll do donkey, that'll do *lets white horse run into the sunset* im done white knighting, now ill discuss how i can make my least favorite games better.Honeslty its a three way tie between recoded, 3d and chi. Each one mostly for the story, but for chi it would because the way the story is presented, and for 3d, the way the story is written, and some aspects of the gameplay (screw flowmotion, keep it out of kh3, too OP) Anyway, for recoded, it was an unneccessary filler meant to tide fans over until the true sequel titles came out (BBS, 358) data sora's chances of having any relevance are so small that he might as well never should have existed, i still doubt that we will even be getting multiple playable characters aside from sora and riku, just because of how vast the possibilites are at this point, so to add data sora to that would just spread the already cumbersome finale of the saga to thin. His entire "even systems can grow a heart" has been done to death by other characters such as repliku, tron, and even xion (even though she came later, her growth was more pronounced). Honestly, it would have been better spent if the story revolved around searching the hearts of the world to find the location of ven aqua and terra, having it so that data sora was able to see things from the perspective of the world, be it the past or possible future (Chi reference) they can keep the stuff about hurt in place, but actually show scenes from the( at the time) upcoming games that caused that hurt, show me ventus meeting vanitas on DI, show me terra holding a dying eraqus, show me aqua lamenting on giving sora a keyblade, especially show me roxas talking to xion (he would be talking toempty space since she cant be remembered) would have set up the next games quite nicely imo. The story for each disney world is okay, theres not much that can be done since plot demands that it rehash the plot of the disney worlds from the first KH. For 3d...where do i begin exnay on the time travel for starters, at first it was cool in how ansem SOD wasnt a throwaway character in the broadview of KH, but now its just, tacky. Instead of time travel, ansem SOD should have been placing heart pieces(or rather seeds) in all of the organization's members that would grow alongside the nobodies newly forming heart (roxas would be impervious to this due to ven's heart, and riku would have gained a resistence to it because Ansem SOD failed the first time) and once they were slain, the kingdom hearts of people's hearts was destroyed, and they were reformed into a somebody again the heart seeds would wrest control of the heart away from the person giving xehanort complete control, its not the best alternative, but its better than time travel. And it would also make the kingdom hearts of people's heart more relevant to the main series as it would be a chest of sorts for xehanort to store his 13 darknesses away for the next 10 years while the light side found their 7 As for gameplay, get rid of flowmotion, yes everything looks nice at a distance while youre traveling, but more often than not youre not doing any of the polevaulting FM moves, it actually takes the worst aspects of BBS world layout and expands it into more wide open areas except with stuff full of nothing but grind rails...i feel like im playing sonic 06. It is also heavily overpowered, one FM was able to take down half a health bar of the monkey boss in TT, its just too much with no draw back to spamming it. Now im about to white knight for quick second though on one gameplay aspect *white horse comes back from the sunset* the drop gauge, if you have the nerve to complain about that, quit playing video games for the rest of your life, honestly, once you are able to buy drop me nots, that shouldnt even be a concern, you should never drop unless you want to/have to. You should have more problems dodgeing dragon malificent fire/tail attacks while trying to navigate your menu looking for potions than scrambling to use a drop me not when the screen is literally almost the size of your hand, i dont want to hear "i wasnt paying attention to it" thats your own fault then, dont blame the mechanics...rant about the drop gauge done... *white horse gallops away*.Now we come to chi...oh god chi, literally took the most badass lore piece in KH history and turned it into a fairytale for children.when the words KH MMO aresaid, the first thing that should come to mind is badass pvp keyblade duels, awesome raids involving teams of 20 keyblade wielders fighting one or three darksides. And story segments that make fans ooooo and gasp (weve been getting those recently, but not on the scale of information we should be getting regarding the keyblade war, something that even xehanort covets in regards ro information) first things first, give it the dragon ball xenoverse treatment, DBXV has done a STUPENDOUS job on making an MMO type game work for the console (even though it borrows heavily from assets in dragonball online) it would be hardly difficult to translate textures of previous games into a Chi remake with KH graphics. Atleast when it comes to enemies. The only awkward thing would be changing the gameplay so that it actually required a team effort (something DBXV failed to do, unless your teamwork is on some world tournament level). Other than that i have no true qualms with Chi, i hate the very fact that its canoncity is directly tied to KH3 seeing as its a lite version of what must have been a bloodsoaked war involving so many casualties, but its too late for that, the die has been cast, i just hope it actually turns into an mmo seeing as its the only way (lore wise) we will ever see a KH MMO.Okay sorry for the long diatribe, to those who read all the way through and discovered the hidden message within the text, post it and you will get a reward.

When I said that it was implied that the cutscene showing cage of will being used was made to imply that that is where Terra learned it from. I in no way meant that he learned it from the mirage arena, I meant the fact that he learned the ability from eraqus. But still the arm our of the masters name and description leads to a stronger inclination that it is another version of lingering will, while no hearts description discussing how it clads a mysterious person leads to the inclination that someone is inside the armor, but like you said it doesn't matter, isn't really canon just gives the player insight.

KHBbS Something about the X-Blade (Spoilers?)
outbackjim21 replied to soniplushie's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
with all keyblades that are man made being based upon the design of the X-blade, the most prominent feature, the kingdom key, would be replicated. Seeing as the KK is the most basic of all man made keys it would point to that conclusion. I doubt sora has one of the ancient keyblades (faction leader keyblades) the only thing that is in soras possesion that has been hinted to have a direct link to the time of the keyblade war is the journal. But in short, all keyblades look like the kingdom key from the x-blade, not the x-blade has two kingdom keys on it, x-blade came first. (Tried a DW reference) -
KHBbS BBS: pyrrhic victory for Terra,Aqua, Ventus?
outbackjim21 replied to Yelow Lanturn 15's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Not really, xehanort knew it was flawed, but like yen sid said, he is man who will leave many roads open. The ventus-vanitas x-blade was just a shortcut that if it happened to work then great, but the main plan,if it didnt work would just be to go to the 13 vs 7 WHICH he was already putting into motion in the very same game by having maleficent track down the 7 princesses and also gaining access to 8 potential darknesses while also gaining a new body. And unless we see what would have happened if ventus-vanitas truly fused and tried to awaken kingdom hearts, we can never be too sure as to whether or not it would be an abyssal failure. Xehanorts a scientist who will try any method to get him the results he desires. And in the end, BBS was meant to set up his 13v7 plan all along, and aqua terra and ven definitely elongated the time table necessary for xehanorts plans to come to fruition. So yes, they did win, they set things up so that a future generation would take up the helm to defend the realm of light and they prevented the darkness from having an immediate victory, but it was at too great of a cost seeing as they have been separated/isolated for over a decade. -
The data is of xehanort inside the armour, its not like armour of the master which was probably made to imply where terra learned the cage of will and the ability to turn his armor into lingering will.I dont know about that breathing in space bit, if sora and the gang were afraid of drowning in atlantica. Though mickey and aqua were in space towards the end of BBS, but they werent awake to show signs of no oxygen having an effect on them(we will just ignore the fact that their lungs would explode if they really were in space without a suit)

KHBbS James Spader should replace Nimoy as Xehanort
outbackjim21 replied to Riku21Terr's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
No thanks, frank welker would do a better job, transformers proves that. -
Xiii had impressive graphics that almost hold up even to current gen standards, and the music is fricken gorgeous especially blinded by light(love me some fast tempo violin) but story... Not even close to the magnificence of past titles, im not really a fan on how they forced every character to fight for the exact same reason, because some god told them to, i understand that they had underlying reasons, but you cant deny that the l'cie focus was the main reason they all worked together. It didnt feel as natural as previous titles had you form youre group. I honestly felt like the real party forming was gaining the eidolans, now that was very well done. Another thing would have to be the enourmous amount of backstory hidden behind the datalogs that if you didnt read, most of the game, and its sequels wont make any sense, nor will the ending as to how they break free from cieth form, that could have easily have been remedied by actually allowing explorable cities where npcs would be able to tell ius the history, and interpretations of that history,of that world. Other than cid raines, every other villain was unmemorable, that jihl woman, rosch, just pointless. And when it came to barthadelus...ever since i saw that supernatural episode where the angels are crying about how their god left them, thats the onlyway i can picture barthadelus now...just crying...like a child because daddy isnt sitting on his throne and he has to stand on his own two feet without help.I would talk about characterization of the main cast,... But im just going to say you did good sazh, you were the only three dimensional character from the entire cast, fang was close behind you, but she just barely couldn't escape 2D exit velocity.

Which game from the KH series is your least favorite so far?
outbackjim21 replied to Lu Xun's topic in Poll of the Week
I get that BBS is you're least favorite and you don't want to discuss it, but I'm trying to understand how BBS brought out a lot of retcons. Everything within the story was pretty self contained, the main enemy (unversed) disappears realistically, the main villains get set up in their positions that were established in previous titles. And the trio are put into place so that they don't influnece events of the main series directly( aside from Terra) most if not all previous mysteries are explained, especially the importance of C.O, I don't see many retcons other than Master xehanort. But when I think of retcons I think of how in the first couple of transformers episodes the autobots are able to fly, then all of a sudden they can't without any explanation. To be honest, the biggest retcon would have to be the introduction of nobodies in KH2 seeing as it was never explained why they weren't around during the first game. Nor why they weren't in COM during the last level inside the actual castle oblivion layout when it had actual nobodies in the vicinity. -
Which game from the KH series is your least favorite so far?
outbackjim21 replied to Lu Xun's topic in Poll of the Week
data sora as a character was composed of the memories from journal of the first KH adventure so he would have all of Sora's character development from the first game on the back burner not in the sense that he can access them, but he is born from them. And though it is a contrast as to how both reacted to losing the keyblade. Data sora still had friends to support him the entire way, where as sora lost both goofy and Donald, and also Riku. Which would have been a much harder blow than data sora simply having an already fake keyblade destroyed. Pain is a very human/relatable thing to discuss in any media, but recoded makes it seem like this insurmountable tasks that can't be done even though sora has already done it many times before. Even within this game, Data Roxas mentions hurt in the exact same context of what happened to sora during COM, with the memories of someone dear to you being forgotten causing hurt. And what did sora do without unnecessary added context of hurt, he overcame it. Coded just fluffs up content that already occurred or is going to occur (in the cas of BBS since it wasn't out yet when the mobile game was finished) it adds insight I will admit, but it isn't thought provoking in the grand scheme of things especially with Sora's characterization seeing as he's already done all of this beforehand.Kingdom hearts has always been a fast paced game, unlike games like dark souls, zero lag guards and invincibility frames are necessary in some situations, unlike the souls series, most enemies' attacks aren't telegraphed in the sense that there is a huge wind up unless it's a charge attack or a reaction command. I will admit that the shotlocksystem was bad, but then again I rarely used it due to how cheap it was, (reason why I avoided flow motion in 3d as well). But I'm going to have to disagree with you on the characterization of the bbs trio( excluding Terra because he was badly written) each character's ending May be forced in order to line up with the main series, but you can't deny the reasoning of each character that lead them to their respective end. All of it can be traced back to eraqus in a sense, but having it so that each character trusting every other character rather than themselves and the other two is Shakespearean tragedy in a nut shell. And for you to say that their tragedies are meaningless is to say that the lesson of learning to deal with hurt caused by that tragedy is meaningless as well seeing as that was the whole point of data Namine and data Roxas testing data sora to see if he can deal with the hurt of the people he has to save. Now I don't think we played the same 358 days game seeing as it turned an entire organization that you were taught to despise in both COM and KH2 (aside from obvious exceptions) and actually humanized them to an extent, they even made Xigbar and saix somewhat relatable, much more so with saix. And simply reading the secret reports gave you, the player, insight into each members goals as to why they joined the org and how they viewed themselves and other nobodies. You can hate on days gameplay, but it was trying its best to simulate the kh2 gameplay just without all the bells and whistles that kh2 had. It even shows with how some of Roxas combos are kh2 Sora's combos. Also in regards to xion, Roxas needed a lot more than a simple"who am I" conflict inorder for him to be a truly tragic character, he needed to lose something in order to push him forward. Just having Roxas be friends with axel throughout all of 358 and all of a sudden have Roxas say "everyone's keeping secrets from me, screw this" (even though no one would be keeping secrets since Xion isn't around)would just be more of an asspull than just leaving xion in the game xion also gave more insight into the growth of a heart even more so than recoded and the Tron world's did. I mean having a nobody, a being who isn't meant to have a heart, create another artificial existence that was always meant to be a puppet desire a heart and shows growth of one. Granted, it was done earlier with repliku, but xion actually gave the process depth.when you say that the world's are a unique remix, a remix in what way, honestly with the side scrolling, basic rpg attack/defend, and whatever wonderland was, I felt like I was playing a game designed for a mobile pho... Never mind, but seriously the system sectors were a nice touch, just not that great due to the fact that it literally can be lifeless seeing as the layouts are so similar, but that's because of plot rather than game design. To be honest, ever since Jesse McCartney did young justice, he doesn't "sound" like Roxas anymore, he sounds more like robin, but right now DDDs Roxas is stronger in my head than recoded's is. -

On what grounds are you comparing the games, by story, or by gameplay? Either way BBS is the most pronounced in terms of gameplay, its pretty much the reason coded has deck commands to begin with (even though it all stems from crisis core) it had a bunch of unnecessary minigames, but the core gameplay was solid, it was even improved upon in the hd remix. In terms of story, 358 days did what it set out to do, explain what happened to roxas during his year in the org, the writing was concise on his growth and even humanized some of the other members.BBS was very thorough on connecting plotpoints to KH1, some characterization flaws aside *cough terra *cough* the characters were well drawn out and the dilemmas that made this game earn the ironic tragedy tag was consistent. Recoded was just stale in terms of plot, im not sure how you can say its well written when its just a bunch of existential nonsense of what it means to hurt and be hurt, which was hammered into the players brain every level in the castle oblivion segments. Not to mention the nomura troll involving the possibility of mickey being in traverse town the day sora arrived, (but thats just a personal gripe i have, same with the vanitas onein DDD) it really was a rehash of KH1 and COM story what with the worlds visited, sora losing the keyblade only to believe in himself again in order to regain it, to the levels of doubt he had about himself while traversing C.O. Though i will admit, another good thing that recoded did was allow Non japanese a chance to fight roxas, so yeah, other than that and the matrix, it doesnt do anything another KH has already done in the past. -

its not, but when it comes to Rpgs, story is a huge deal. And i admitted that there were some good things about the gameplay, but unlike the other two in the prequel-midquel-sequel trilogy it doesnt add anything new to the table, bbs added deck commands(greatest addition to kh imo) days added what an actual multiplayer KH experience might be like in KH3. The only thing gameplay wise that really stood out was the matrix, and i doubt that feature will return in any upcoming KH games. If youre referring to the secret movie that involves young xehanort,... That was shoehorned into that movie, it could have easily have been put into the BBS secret ending and would have made more sense for it to be there as well, heck the yen sid secret ending that talks about the mark of mastery exam would have fit better in the BBS secret ending as well. But if youre talking about the scene with malfiecent and the book of prophecies, that relates more to chi having more relevance in KH3 rather than recoded itself. But anyway, its your opinion, i just disagree with it,... And so does almost half the people who voted in this poll...statistics (emoji for shrug)
