  1. When Ansem showed up and was trying to make up for his past. It wasn't *super* emotional or anything, but I also knew the game had to end soon so it had a really remorseful melancholy feel to me. It's okay Ansem, I forgive you. *pats old man on head*
  2. I suppose I should start by saying that I used to despise Kingdom Hearts. Yes, it was the culmination of all things I hated: Mickey Mouse, rabid fangirls and terrible voiceacting. I'll counteract that prior point by saying I am a massive The World Ends With You fan. My love for the game is still going strong and I listen to the soundtrack nearly everyday. So when I heard that my favorite characters and a few songs had worked their way into a Kingdom Hearts game, I was immensely worried. The great image of TWEWY going to be slandered with *ugh* Disney and melodramatic writing, I figured I'd just have to ignore it. Then the KH/TWEWY cross-universe fanart trickled in and I worried the precious fandom for a niche little game was going to shatter from "those putrid KH fans." But when the KH3D demo hit the eShop, my good friend who saw past my ignorance encouraged me to try it, as a TWEWY fan. For the first time in my life(and hopefully the last), I fanguy squealed when Neku showed up. And while my mind said I had to hate it, my heart couldn't help but adore the gameplay which was exactly what I'd been looking for in a game. I secretly bought a PS2 and all the KH titles available just a day later, my new guilty pleasure. And within a week I'd fallen in love with something I had told myself I would never enjoy. The day KH3D was released, I came out of the closet to my friends as a recently converted Kingdom Hearts fan. So what I'm looking for in Kingdom Hearts 3D may not be exactly what other KH fans are, as the entire experience is still relatively new to me. But I have to say, KH3D is worthy of bearing the 10th Anniversary logo despite not being a console KH title. Flowmotion is a truly excellent addition to the series, it breathes life into what could easily become repetitive and stale combat and well it's just plain fun to fly around. Reality Shifts are a gimmick, but nothing feels more satisfying than slashing a Grid Guard, than hacking him to fight against his own teammates. The soundtrack is a sheer delight and TWEWY remixes are more like re-imaginings, which makes them even better. And boy oh boy, is the TWEWY fan within me satisfied. I held deep concerns that the well crafted Reaper's Game plot would be crashed by some cheesy excuse for the cameos, but it makes perfect sense in both canons. Each character kept their personalities and dialogue perfectly, as if it was written back when TWEWY was still being developed. Neku is the lovable misanthrope with a secret desire to make friends, Beat is still the soft hearted gangser who can't do simple addition, and Joshua is still the snarky jerk you just have to love. That said, not everything is perfect in Traverse Town. The worlds are still pretty lonely and don't have many objects to interact with despite flowmotion. The camera is still a bit finicky and some bosses simply seem unbalanced and cruel. The Disney franchises used this time aren't as well known/accessible (Hunchback of Notre Dame and Fantasia aren't real classics, Tron Legacy is too new, Three Musketeers was just a straight to DVD release) but the game still seems to expect you to have watched them yesterday. The plot is still not easily accessible for newcomers like me, but I forgive it because it gave an honest effort in the momento and journal systems. All these flaws are small potatoes when compared to the big picture. Although I've yet to finish KH3D, I can tell it will be an unforgettable experience, not just for being an excellent and well polished game, but also for teaching me a valuable lesson- never judge a series by it's Mickey Mouse, because he will turn out to be a totally awesome keyblade wielding master.
  3. Thursday or Friday. Unfortunately we're taking a trip this or next week and I might have to wait even longer. Hopefully we'll take it next week. I cannot wait much longer. Even just seeing the beautiful argyle print up close will be great.
  4. Waiting as well. http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/happy.png Amazon says it should be here by Friday, although I have 2 day shipping and it should be shipping today since it says shipping soon and I'll probably get it on Thursday. I was surprised at how cheap the upgrade to 2 day shipping was, totally worth it to make the wait a little more bearable haha.
  5. Well not really, haha. I'll just be splicing it together from numerous advertisements and such. I found a high res image of the mark of mastery's silver wrap and I'm using that as the basis. I've already made a simple version using that image alone and will modify it some more later(after I finish KH3D lol). I can't find a large enough image of the official argyle with all the symbols(the non KH3D ones like Heartless or Roxas) though, so there will a small discrepancy between the cover and skin. Not noticeable unless you really know your stuff though. Although I will be sure to let my 3DS explode in awesomeness for the first few seconds, long enough to temporarily blind myself but not too long enough to cause a black hole. For extra effect, I'm going to print mine out on some super sparkly paper. Goodness this is going to be extravagant.
  6. Amazon is much more reliable and has them in stock. Plus more shipping options as well. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006OI3CTS/ref=s9_simh_gw_p63_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1S9R94Z51AR3Q7B3P6CT&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846
  7. Ah forget it. I cancelled my TRU preorder and went for the restocked ones from Amazon. I'd reccomend the rest of you do the same, it's worth paying a little extra for the shipping for the guarantee you'll get one.
  8. '' Well that's fortunate in a bad way. I'm thinking that Square Enix is going to have to produce more copies, it seems like they didn't make enough. I know it's a collector edition but it's not limited, and if they can't even meet preorders than there is definitely something wrong on their end.
  9. Yeah, I was expecting that. I might call Toys R Us and see what the situation is, possibly work my way into getting one somehow(if not me, my mom can be extremely persuasive and pushy on phones haha). Although I'm still holding out hope they will have one for me. I actually don't know if many people would have preordered from TRU, it's not the first place most people think of for video games, let alone collector's editions. I preordered before the secret of TRU got out, and nobody was suggesting preordering from TRU before then. Although I'm not paying more than 60 dollars, I'm going to secure a copy somehow. Sorry that you couldn't get your copies. I hope you get one eventually!
  10. Please check the status of your preorder and if you feel comfortable with doing so, post it here. Toys R Us apparently has a really bad track record for overselling preorders when they can't supply them all. https://www.toysrus....&remote_ot=true I'm making this thread so those of use who preordered from TRU(most likely last minute haha) can check if we're going to get a copy or not and see what should or isn't happening with our orders. I'm VERY concerned that all of us who found a last minute chance for the MoM at TRU will be crushed yet again by a backorder/delay or even a cancellation. Right now, mine says : " Item(s) on hold until release date: 07 / 29 / 12" Which doesn't sound very comforting seeing as today is 7/30/12 and tomorrow is the ship date. *gulp* Hopefully this is just the norm because TRU doesn't work on weekends.
  11. Zelda 3DS for the win. Combine Zelda and KH... I think your 3DS would explode from awesomeness. I'm just going to make a nice printout of a light gray version of the KH Argyle pattern to place underneath. It might take some time but it should work well as long as I print it on cardstock in the right size. When I'm done I can share the file with you guys if you want it. http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/happy.png
  12. Argh, thank you Toys R Us (why can't you make a backwards R on a keyboard? BLASPHEMY) for being my savior. I ordered yesterday. http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/happy.png I cannot call myself a KH fan anymore. I decided to wait on buying KH3D until the reviews came in, since Re:coded was not so great. But that meant the chance of getting a Mark of Mastery was zero. Of course I wasn't a KH fan until a month ago so I suppose I deserve it haha. Although I am worried that Toysrus has sold out and is selling preorders because their website isn't very good. Does anyone have experience with them before? Do they take down or close items when preorders are filled up, or keep taking despite going over the limit? If they sell out my hopes will have been crushed.
