What is your favorite Keyblade?

Which game has confused you the most?
Mystics Apprentice replied to Gambler'sApprentice's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Yeah, that one is sort of confusing, and doesn't really add much to the story overall. To my knowledge, the real Sora doesn't experience any of it, except for the ending. Overall, I'd have to say Dream Drop Distance confused me the worst. The 13 darknesses kind of baffled me, and I thought a few things didn't quite add up... -
There's been times where I've seen certain places within a trailer and I've thought, "Wow, I've gotta get there!" But otherwise...no, I haven't purposely tried to reenact anything I've seen.

Come, relax your fingers and do this.
Mystics Apprentice replied to kalnet's topic in Random & Forum Games
I'm almost the same as you, Kalnet! I can't do #1 with my right hand, nor can I perform #5 with my right hand. I'm right-handed though, so I wonder if that has something to do with it. -
Ways to battle depression?
Mystics Apprentice replied to Mystics Apprentice's topic in General Discussion
Don't worry, definitely not into the emo thing; too old for that, hehe. Y'know, this is one thing I've never fully managed to embrace. I have a difficult time (due to the OCD) of doing things I find pleasure in, because I always feel the need to be doing something important. So then I feel guilty whenever I enjoy myself, which makes it nearly impossibly to enjoy the activity I set out to do. I will try this for sure, and see if I can't find a little peace with Sora. Thanks for the advice! I'm glad to hear you've found something to help you. Depression is truly hard to explain, and those without it have a hard time picturing where I'm coming from. Thank you for all your kindness and words of support. It's also nice to hear someone's personal experience with depression, so not to worry on getting too detailed! I'm very happy to hear that you've found ways to conquer your own depression, and I hope that I also find ways to conquer mine similarly. Your words were quite inspiring, and, as many others mentioned above as well, it appears that indulging in something you enjoy is essential. I will try this. Out of curiosity, when you were depressed did you have a hard time figuring out what interests you? I mean, did some of your old interests sort of fade out? Thanks; I actually am doing some of this. Talking with others does help, along with exercising, though I feel I irritate those who know me with my complaints! haha! Also, many thanks for the warm welcome into the community. I've really enjoyed my time here; everyone's so friendly! Thanks for all of your suggestions, everyone! I really appreciate all the support and suggestions. As I mentioned above, it looks like finding something I enjoy and indulging into it is key, so now I just need to find something to get myself into! I have a very hard time enjoying myself when I think I could be doing something important, which makes this particularly difficult, but I'll try to ward off this feeling. I also agree that being arounds friends does help, but generally I feel shy, awkward and afraid I'll screw up by opening my mouth (these days--I didn't used to be this way). But again, I'll try. -
KHBbS Whose ending was more sad? Ventus, Aqua, or Terra?
Mystics Apprentice replied to marii94's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Very difficult choice, but I'd have to say Aqua's. That last desperate battle she waged against Terra/Xehanort must've been so heart wrenching for her; practically fighting her best friend (well...her friend's body, anyway). -
Anyone seen this? so epic (Final Fantasy)
Mystics Apprentice replied to Crimson's topic in General Discussion
Wow, that's so cool! They did a very nice job animating the toys like that. -
I truly hope I don't look as though I'm whining in this thread, but I was just wondering if anyone on here has been depressed and, if so, how they mentally worked against it. I've been diagnosed with OCD and Clinical Depression, which really gets to me from time to time, particularly in winter. I know there's no miracle answer or cure, and that's definitely not what I'm looking for. I was just hoping to work around medication (apart from natural remedies I'm taking) when those times of depression get real rough by trying out different tactics to uplift my mood, and thought I'd ask to see what you guys did. Thanks so much for your suggestions! (and even reading, for that matter!)

What do you expect from the sequel?
Mystics Apprentice replied to dusk's topic in General Discussion
I generally get excited when I hear about a sequel, mainly because I enjoyed the first game enough that I'm anxious to see what they managed to come out with for the next. I also enjoy a sequel that elaborates on my favorite side characters, or just continuing with the same main characters that I came to know and love. What I hate with sequels sometimes is the unoriginality of them, or the way they'll continue a story without any real story to tell. An example of this, I think, was Dirge of Cerberus for Final Fantasy VII. There really wasn't any significant story to tell, so in a way you could almost say the sequel hurt the original. I dislike it when this happens. So, I guess so long as the sequel is done correctly and doesn't end up harming the original's story and characters, then I'm all for it. -
Yeah, there's some voice acting that's terrific, and then there's some that are just really, really bad, hehe. It might just be me, but I've always thought Yuna's voice was a little off. It seems like her voice is always conflicting with her emotions and dialogue (for instance, her tone will lower upon an exclamation mark in the dialogue). Actually, now that I think about it, a lot of the voice acting is pretty poor in that game...

Aw, that's so cool you got the new Paper Mario! I've been looking to get a copy myself. Just curious, did you manage to find a good deal on it for Black Friday? I ask because I've been looking around everywhere and so far I'm only finding it full price...

Ouch, that's a really tough position you're in. I don't know if your household is this way or not, but when I was growing up I wasn't paid to do chores. Instead it was just something that was expected out of all of us kids. I'm respectful of various ways that a household chooses to run things, since each one works differently and it's not always possible to earn allowances. So, coming from a non-allowance home, I understand your pain and where you're coming from. This might not help all that much, but the 3DS isn't all that it's made out to be. I mean it's cool, Dream Drop Distance is on it, but otherwise it's really not the greatest console in the world. You're not missing out on anything that spectacular, so not to worry! One thing you may want to consider doing is asking for the 3DS for Christmas, or whatever seasonal holiday your family celebrates. If your family cannot afford one new, there's always the option of a preowned one on eBay. Ebay is MUCH cheaper than Gamestop, and sometimes you can get a really good deal. It's just a thought, at any rate. A weekend job might be ideal, but we all know that's easier said than done! Really, do whatever you think is right for you and your household and see if you can get a video game console of your dreams. Don't give up trying, and I wish you the best of luck in getting one! P.S.: I also don't have an ipod, MP3 player, Xbox or PS3, if it makes you feel any better.

what do u think of forced/arranged marriages
Mystics Apprentice replied to Villi1997's topic in General Discussion
Forced marriages are awful; I don't think anyone can excuse them to be otherwise. As for arranged... I think it depends on how it's done, but all-in-all I believe everyone should be happy with the decision. In other words, I believe an arranged marriage can be alright so long as not only those who arranged the marriage are happy with it. -
I might be misunderstanding this slightly, but I believe pretty much all Final Fantasies are free roaming to an extent. I'd personally suggest any game after FF IV, though, namely VI and VII.

Any people on here around my age?
Mystics Apprentice replied to Roxas Seeking Light's topic in General Discussion
I'm close! A couple years older, but that's not much in the long scheme of things, eh? -
Do you buy a console for one game?
Mystics Apprentice replied to Tails's topic in General Discussion
I've bought a system for a particular game (ie. Kingdom Hearts), but I made sure I'd be getting games for it in the future to make up for it. -
I could easily build my party of solely FF6 characters, but I'll try to balance it out: Celes from VI for her powerful magic (offensive and healing) Cloud from VII for offense (unless I could put Zack here instead?) Locke from VI for someone to look cool (nah, I'd put his valiant knife to work!) Tifa from VII for offense (plus I'd equip a cure to her, too, just in case anything happened to party member #1)

Let's see here... 10. Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus -- I'm not shooter fan, so I thought the gameplay sucked. I did however enjoy the storyline along with the characters. As you'll find below, I'm quite the fan of Final Fantasy VII, so this game managed to make it on my top ten list. 9. Mystic Quest: Final Fantasy -- I wonder if anyone has ever played this one before? I know I'm odd for enjoying this game, but I remember playing it at four years old and loving it. Not that the game is that great, since it's the typical "you save the crystals and you save the world" story, but I have a lot of nostalgia where this title is involved. 8. Final Fantasy III -- This game is HARD! Anyone looking for a difficult game would do well to look into this one. You frequently have to stop to level up characters, which is quite different from what you'll find in Final Fantasies VII-XIII. Apart from that, the gameplay's enjoyable. (But, then again, I like old-school RPGs.) The story and characters are FLAT, though. 7. Final Fantasy X -- The gameplay is fun. I like Wakka and Lulu (namely watching them bicker). The sphere grid is amazing! Oh how I enjoy playing around with it, hehe. I don't enjoy the story all that much--which kind of surprises me--but it's a good game, and worthy of being called a Final Fantasy. 6. Final Fantasy IX -- The gameplay's fun, more like older Final Fantasies than VIII or X. The characters are interesting, as is the story. Overall it's good. Not my favorite, but good. 5. Dissidia 012 duodecim -- Well, I'm not a huge fan of the storyline itself, but it's got my favorite characters in it, so I'm good! 4. Final Fantasy IV -- I loved the characters. The gameplay wasn't too bad, and I enjoyed the variance in dungeons. The only real gripe I had about this game was the story. It was too flat. However, the CG graphics in the DS version were awesome, especially after having played the flat 2D SNES version. 3. Final Fantasy VII -- Great story, great cast. My favorite part of this game was watching the story unfold, never knowing where I'd be lead off to next. I also really enjoyed the battle setup and equipment available. Call me a nutcase, but I greatly enjoy sorting out materia to my party members... Of course, the cast was awesome, but they could've developed Cloud a bit more. (Instead they chose to develop him throughout Advent Children and Crisis Core...quite disappointing.) 2. Final Fantasy VI -- It was one of the first Final Fantasies I ever completed, and have loved it ever since. The characters have more depth than I've seen present within any Final Fantasy, not to mention each one has such a superb background. Heck, even Gao's interesting, and, especially for a side character, that's saying something. Kefka is also my favorite villain of all time, which truly makes me rate this game so high. 1. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII -- I like it for many of the same reasons I like Final Fantasy VII, except I like Crisis Core more for the improved graphics, amazing story, Sephiroth's good for half the game, and...Zack. I *heart* Zack.

How long Will the Final Fantasy series last?
Mystics Apprentice replied to Geralt's topic in General Discussion
I really think Final Fantasy's going to keep going as long as people are out there to buy them. They might switch hands somewhere down the line, but I think it'd take a lot for them to simply create a "final" Fantasy. With Final Fantasy being one of the #1 selling franchises, I think it'll be one of the last ones to go.
