  1. Yesterday I learned there's a bug going around, and I was bragging that I rarely get sick. Come this morning, and I'm feeling signs that the universe will soon be punishing me for my hubris.

    1. Forever

      Forever

Just stay hydrated, and rest as much as you can. Preserving your energy can help it not last as long.

Hard to do since I gotta go to work. The worst part is that when I do get sick enough, it's usually bad enough to make life needlessly unpleasant, but not so bad that I can justify staying home. It's like a sick joke (durr hurr).

      Aaaaand cue the light-headedness. Whee.

  2. Terra. My turn: he's man's(?) best friend and letter deliver-er.
  3. Well, I hear they're keeping things like the crossdressing scene, so that's a promising sign. Still, I'm worried that Squeenix (and fans!) have gotten so used to the direction the Compilation took with the characters and story that it'll subconsciously influence the direction they'll take with the remake. I'm not even just talking about the story, I also mean things like the voice acting (why don't they tell Steve Burton that it's okay to emote a little more? Why?) We're talking years and years of spin-offs and portrayals that saturated the FFVII name, and all the fan familiarity that came with it. It seems like they've left their roots so far behind that I'm not sure how good they'll do at returning to it -- assuming they're truly interested in doing it at all. Then again... Cloud in a dress. They're keeping it in. Gotta have some hope, right?
  4. To be honest the only hope I have for this game is that they don't make Cloud emo. Y'know, something more in line with his original portrayal, rather than what they turned him into in the Compilation and other appearances. It'd be nice if the remake reminded fans that, oh yeah, Cloud isn't eternally dark and broody, and while he was a serious character he was still determined, hopeful, trusted his friends with his problems, and could even crack a few jokes -- and this was after regaining his true self. Other than that, as long as they keep the core mechanics (turn-based battles, materia system, etc) and story, I'm not too picky about what to expect. It'd be awesome if it's awesome, but if it's not, hey, we'll always have the original.
  5. Hair + rainy weather = poof, bye-bye straight hair, hello lion's mane.

  6. A thing talking about your very concern. The short answer is that these days, games are freakin' expensive to make. It's a greater gamble to make something new from scratch than it was before, and I guess in a business sense they think it's better to play it safe with things like ports, remakes, etc., because they already know those games will sell. Of course, I wish they'd be more willing to take risks (the stagnation is the main reason I've stopped paying attention to modern games, aside from a somewhat lack of interest), but I can at least understand why things are the way they are.
  7. You wouldn't think a single piece of a computer case could be so heavy, and then you drop one on your foot and your toe still hurts hours after the incident. Technology really is out to murder us.

Well, printers ARE pure evil incarnate, a lot like *Spoiler* So.... yeah.

...Who WOULDN'T think a single piece of a computer case could be so heavy? Those things are pretty damn heavy.

Apparently I wouldn't think so. I was proven wrong. So very, very wrong.

And Nortanort, you are absolutely correct about the devil printers. Literally almost 50 percent of the problems I have to solve have to do with a printer.

  8. Binge-watching Steven Universe has been time well spent.

Totally, or at least I think so. The first handful of episodes were good but not really the mythos the internet cares about. Things really pick up around Mirror Gem, which is... episode 25. Pretty late in the game, but the ride there has been enjoyable for me.

  9. HOLY FIRETRUCK IT'S AN RPG. I mean, I have my concerns on whether or not Scott can pull off an RPG BUT STILL GAIZ HOLY FIRETRUCK IT'S GOING TO BE AN RPG.
  10. Moar BBS? Cool beans, I guess, but I was sorta hoping they'd have given their full attention to KH3. This is probably the first time I've ever complained about delaying KH3 since I joined this fandom. I guess it was inevitable. You know what else was inevitable? Delaying KH3.

    1. Shana09

      Shana09

At least its something new other than a full HD remaster. As long as I get new good KH games I'm good, KH3 or not.

  11. SCOTT JESUS CHRIST SLOW THE FIRETRUCK DOWN WITH THE CUTIE CUTES. Now we got chibi Toy Chica, Toy Bonnie, and Mangle. And Balloon Girl. Okay, how did people guess Balloon Girl before she decided to show those eyelashes? ... also, who's hiding behind normal!Chica's arm? Dammit I can't get the picture posted.
  12. The only reason Zack can get away with a pun like that is because he's Zack.
  13. Scott, you sneaky bastard. My guess is the cutesy cute animatronics may have something to do with that Fazbear and Friends TV show. They have a cartoony look that you don't see in any other animatronic in the series. That, or there's another pizzeria chain with their own version of the animatronics. All in all it probably ties into the new project Scott's working on, either in the FNaF4 update or something else.
  14. Lavos doesn't need to warp time; his presence is so weird that time warps for him.
  15. The story and lore, really. I don't have too much to talk about with gameplay, and neither do the brunt of discussions here as far as I know. The story is where most of the admiration/complaints/blah about the series seem to come from. I must not have been paying attention because the fanbase doesn't seem all that divided between gameplay or story. There are many other things they're polarized about...
  16. I should say something interesting. "Something interesting." You're welcome.

  17. So far I've spent Labor Day trying to figure out how to celebrate Labor Day.

  18. The Panty and Stocking dub is nuts and I love it.

Never watched it before. Then I heard of the "Dieto" meme and saw a few other clips and decided to give it a shot.

  19. Because you can't have Disney without Dolan and Gooby. It's also refreshing how Sora, Donald, and Goofy seem to be the strongest trio of friends without any betrayals or angst or strings attached, alongside Hayner, Pence, and Olette.
  20. It bugs me too, but then I remind myself that humans have been worried about the next generation of humans ever since generations and humans existed. Every generation has their bogeymen. It used to be rock and roll, then video games, now tablets and the internet. There are definitely parents out there who use technology as a replacement for actual parenting, but I think there are just as many parents who don't simply hand their kid an iPad and call it a day. We don't know how those kids spend their time in their own house. Whenever you see kids staring at an iPad in public, that doesn't inherently mean that playing a game outside is beyond their comprehension. Things like iPads are convenient ways to keep kids occupied while they're with their parents on errands, because, in case you forgot, errands are boring. When they get home, for all we know, they ditch the iPads and go do something meaningful. I'm pretty sure there are enough good parents out there to balance things out. You can't sweep an entire generation under the same blanket, unless you want the previous generation to do the same thing to us (and they do, just like we're doing now). A lot of kids care about their education and future, probably more than they ever did. You don't hear news stories of good parenting where the kids are well-rounded with a good balance of real life, technology, education, and leisure -- those don't get views. No, instead you see stories of spoiled brats who throw tantrums over getting the wrong color car for their birthday. You hear those stories a lot because with social media and whatnot, they're easier to be shared, so people think they're a bigger epidemic than they probably are. I don't think stories like that are normal. That's why they become articles, and why I try to have a little faith that things won't go to hell because the next generation has different values than ours.
  21. You know something is a bummer when you don't even enjoy a series in question, but you can still feel how much of a bummer it is.
  22. Ha ha ha. Summer vacations are a myth now.
  23. Ragnarok Online is an MMO I always seem to go back to eventually.
