  1. Demyx and Axel probably aren't happy having their faces smushed in someone's ass.
  2. One day soon I will find a use for that Roxas one.
  3. The SJW community's special snowflake syndrome feels more like a symptom of their tendency to see any kind of personal nuance, and give it a label. Straight, gay, bi, asexual -- fair enough. But... only rarely experiences attraction? Is only attracted to someone after forming a strong bond? Can be attracted to all genders? Okay, now they're just overcomplicating things. Why can't you as an individual person just happen to rarely experiences sexual/romantic attraction, or only after forming a strong bond? Why do you need a clean identification for something like that? I guess it's understandable since Tumblr (well, the SJW community) are mainly populated with teenagers who are still learning who they are, so they need clean and easy labels to identify themselves. And the community, in its paranoia about offending someone (but their toxic attitude towards white straight cis males is apparently heroic), will try to accomodate everyone no matter how many new rules they need to invent. They think they're being heroes by creating all these labels, like they're giving everyone a home -- but ironically they're just making it EASIER to offend someone because of how easy it is to accidentally use the wrong one. And genderfluidity, now that I think about it, seems an iffy concept. If gender is supposed to be a social construct, then it feels like people who identify as genderfluid just can't be bothered to pick a group and stick with it. Could it be possible that they just so happen to have a somewhat rigid view of what a man/woman "should" be, and when they look at themselves and see they have traits of both, they think, "Gee maybe I'm both. But not at the same time! It changes depending on my mood." Um. Lots of things can change on your mood. Sometimes I feel like dressing up a bit nicer and learn how to cook a fancy meal, and other days I'd rather look a little boyish and be fine with store-bought hot tamales. Actually, I can feel like dressing up nicely and want some hot tamales, or dress boyish and want a fancy dinner. Hell, recently I've had this massive chocolate craving that I don't usually get. That doesn't make me special, or that I need some kind of label to accomodate my sometimes-chocolate-but-sometimes-vanilla preference. Aside from how much they bend over backwards to not hurt anyone (unless, of course, you're a white straight cis male), that's probably the SJW community's biggest problem: everything needs to be a clean fit.
  4. Ursula is the most beautiful fat octopus squid thing Under The Sea.
  5. Do NOT bail out. You're legally required to show up so you'll get more than just a fine if you blow them off. Just do what everyone else does when they wanna get out of jury duty. Your options are to: -Tell them the truth that you might not be emotionally capable of handing it, and that you don't have reliable transportation. They might cut you some slack, but it's just as likely they'll tell you to deal with it. -Act like you're so incompetent that no one in their right mind would put you on a jury (er, but don't be so incompetent that they can tell you're BSing). -Follow your honest morals and watch them say, nope that's not what we wanna hear, have a nice day. That's what my dad did once, no BS required.
  6. I ship Terra/Aqua but not seriously. I'm not a big shipper to begin with, least of all in a work like KH where the emphasis is on friendship, no matter how the fangirls read into things. Terra/Aqua is the only KH ship I inject some kind of romance into. There are many character couplings I appreciate that aren't in a romantic context. Actually, I think many dynamics are better off when they're not romantic. Roxas for instance is my favorite character in KH, but I can't picture him in a ship with anyone. Maybe KINDA with Namine, but it's even less serious than Terra/Aqua. My only justification for it is "It's cute," which is not a good enough reason for me to ship something seriously (if at all). Honestly, KH character relationships fulfill me as they are, whether it's a bromance like with Sora/Riku or Axel/Roxas, or a three muskateers vibe like Sora/Donald/Goofy. Besides, it's a nice breath of fresh air when a work gives weight to relationships besides romance.
  7. Are you talking about that one video I watched about a minute of, where no one looked like any character and I wouldn't have identified it as anything related to Kingom Hearts if the title didnt' say it was about Kingdom Hearts?
  8. This isn't about grammar, this is about me honestly not understanding the question. Are you asking Do you wait for the credits, or Who waits for the credits? If it's the first one, it's no, unless I'm watching a Marvel film. If it's the second, it's people watching a Marvel film.
  9. Senpai didn't notice you because he liked the delicious lunch you made for him, that's for sure.
  10. How do you equate going on a video game forum with liking violence? I thought it was only middle-aged politicians and soccer moms who assume all video games are inherently violent. Unless you're talking about Mario jumping on turtles. Even Tetris explodes blocks. If that's the case I can't help you there. And I have no idea where you get the notion that being a nice person involves liking violence. Like. I literally don't understand the connection. It's like saying "I like blue curtains" has any relation to "I don't believe the sky is falling down."
  11. Mainly by avoiding them and to not give their words any kind of weight. If they're lolcows, they're not worth listening to. Failing that, I hear that FandomBGone spray is cheap and easy to use.
  12. Much better! It could just be I knew what to expect from the previous video, but this one flowed much better. You're headed in the right direction by using gameplay footage, though I still would've preferred other visuals to enhance what you're saying, rather than just being an alternative to a static screen. Then again, Youtubers like Gaijin Goomba get away with it while still being good videos, so it might just be preference... or me just being used to other analysis channels like Game Theory and Extra Credits. I never abided by the Phone Guy = Purple Guy theory, either. I think Phone Guy is just a nice scapegoat because he's the only other person (besides Phone Dude in 3) that ever really seems to be... there. It feels more like the theory is based on association rather than having solid foundation. You reminded me that Phone Guy is really the only ally you have. Phone Guy gave me the impression that something was forbidding him from outright saying the animatronics are dangerous, please get the hell out of there and find a better job. The meta reason is that if Mike and co. did the smart thing and got out of dodge, there wouldn't be a game. In-universe, I was thinking there was some kind of strict company policy that prevented Phone Guy from admitting anything directly. Maybe management had monitored Phone Guy's calls, though this idea breaks down becaue they let his murder in Night 4 slip (unless someone was REALLY negligent that night). In any case, it felt like Phone Guy was working around some loopholes in what the company considered breaking policy, doing everything to warn you short of outright saying it. He can't say these animatronics will murder the crap out of you, but he can say that the animatronics MIGHT see you as a bare endoskeleton and will try to stuff you into a suit, which "might cause a bit of discomfort... and death." Adding to your theory that Phone Guy once held a managerial position, is that his messages in 3 don't sound natural like in 1 and 2. In 3, he's pretty much reading from a script. He's not really talking to you, or offering his thoughts on the matter, or trying to warn you while attempting to play it casually (to appease company policy or whatever). No, it sounds like it he just plain doesn't care. It could be that the recordings were recorded before all the murders happened, though he doesn't give any thoughts to the victims who died/got dismembered by wearing the spring animatronic suits. Or maybe he was horrified, but his position meant he couldn't do anything but read off a script -- in 1 and 2, where he was seemingly demoted, it sounded like a casual recording from night guard to night guard. Or maybe Scott just exaggerated Phone Guy's tendency to play horrible circumstances off as no big deal, falling into the kind of character exaggeration that happens by getting too used to something and forgetting what made it tick to begin with. I dunno. Phone Guy's charm is how he he makes FNaF's atmosphere so darkly humorous and ironic. I think he's ultimately benign, but stuck in awful circumstances that he's doing his best to get by in. This is a universe where animatronics can apparently become possessed and turn homicidal and the management's main concern is, crap can we clean the bloodstains in the carpet before the health inspectors yell at us? And when the player's only company is homicidal robot animals, Phone Guy is the only person you have.
  13. Welp, the internet kept telling me to watch Age of Ultron, so I did. Was not disappointed. Thank you, internet.

  14. Sex and gender are technically separate. Sex is the biological stuff, genes and anatomy and whatnot. Gender is the societal construct of how people of a certain sex are viewed/should behave. Ffor instance, in different societies a woman should be covered head-to-toe, can show a little skin, or go topless. They can be expected to be nothing but glorified baby makers, or encouraged to pull their weight as much as the male gender. So, gender is constructed because there's no universally accepted expectation for what a woman "should" be (well, maybe aside from motherhood). A handy way to remember it is "Gender is between the head, sex is between the legs." That said, I can't pretend to say I completely understand transgender plights, either. It's one thing to disregard certain societal conventions about what a man/woman "should" be like, but it's another to decide, "I want to be the opposite." And then there's the genderfluid/agender folks who make the whole thing messier. But part of trans surgery usually involves hormone replacement. A few wires probably got crossed in their brain somehow, so surgery and therapy are means to "fix" it I guess. Of course, I don't know what it feels like to have the wrong hormones, to feel like I'm not in the wrong body somehow, so I try to just let them do their own thing.

  16. By loosest definition, being in a fandom just means being a fan of something. Obviously there are many levels to this, whether it's just casually watching the show and maybe chatting about it from time to time, to regularly visiting sites like Equestria Daily, having a bedroom full of paraphanelia, or -- apparently -- sending death threats and squandering one's finances for the latest convention. Honestly I don't know where those evil bronies are. I could be missing something since I'm not that big a fan and I generally keep the fandom at arm's length, save for the occassional fanfic or fanart or video. It just sounds like those are extreme that aren't not much different from, say, people who take video games and anime too far. Art thieves? Getting cheated on/backstabbed by a member of the fandom? Seeing a lot of porn? Marrying a freakin' plushie? Honestly, replace "brony" with "anime fan" and you pretty much get the same instance of fans going waaaay too far. Case in point, dudes in Japan marrying their own dating sims, but even that's more a cultural issue than anything to do with the fandom. I'll admit that clopping disturbs me more than your run-of-the-mill porn/Rule 34, just because it's about ponies in a children's cartoon. But I get disturbed by clopping the same way I would for any Rule 34 of my favorite childhood shows, or anything explicitly targeted for children -- but it exists regardless. As for why clopping is so widespread? Because there are a lot more people who draw art of MLP than, I dunno, Hey Arnold or Courage the Cowardly Dog. But at least as far as I know, Equestria Daily doesn't tolerate that shit (or at least they do a better job of monitoring it). All in all I don't really encounter any of the crazies, either, and I must be better off for it. My experience with the fandom has been almost universally positive, at least of what I've seen and go out of my way to find. I know of a channel or two on Youtube that does some nice analysis videos that focuses on the show as a show and not as a phenomenon. And in general I think I do a decent job of keeping my distance from the crazies of any fandom. Let's just say there's a good reason my main hub for the KH fandom is KH13.
  17. Niyuce. Lea's words of wisdom will forever be immortalized. Though, I do wonder how many people will see that and wonder what the hell a "Flaming Lea" is.
  18. But fast food isn't the same as cigarettes. Fast food is still food and there's some kind of nutritional value in it. Cigarettes have absolutely zero. And as a matter of fact, banning things like fast food and alcohol probably would do some good in the long run. It's just that I'm not willing to ban it from the people who treat fast food and drinking as the occassional splurge, just to deal with the people who abuse it. But cigarettes aren't an occassional splurge. You can easily have a night of drinking or eating unhealthy and not do it again for like a month. Cigaretters are awful if you're not used to it. The people who buy them are the ones guaranteed to come back for more. Just because you have the right to do something, doesn't make it a good idea. There are consequences to what you do, and if there are measures in place to prevent having to deal with those consequences, more power to it. We're addicted to a lot of things, but some addictions are more benign than others. Some can actually have side benefits, like being addicted to health and exercise or a productive hobby. The temporary feel-good effects of a smoking addition do not match up with the long-term consequences. So yeah, not all addictions are equal.
  19. I do not hear good things about non-KH13 forums. Incidentally, the bad things I hear about the non-KH13 forums originate from KH13. I'm sure it's just a coincidence.
  20. Firetruck. (No, not a censored f**k. I mean actual firetruck, because it's probably what killed me.)
  21. Walked up, saw two lizards firetrucking. Both freeze when they see me. Girl freaks out and bolts away. Dude is left standing there wondering how this happened. Mmyup. Blueballing some lizards? My day is done.

  22. Yeah, I was expecting 16-bit screenshots or music or something, too. Rather than replicating how KH might look on the SNES, you just replaced the boxart so it has an SNES boarder instead of a PS2's. Not to mention the boarder is crooked, so it looks a little cheap. Here's an example that's a little more refined. Now obviously, this is someone's fanfic (though to be fair, I'd totally read a KH fanfic with Terra [FFVI] and Cecil in it), and they also clearly just photoshopped Dissidia/KH official art onto a pretty background, but it still looks clean and so feels more legit. It has a sense of composition with how the characters are positioned, and the title is cleanly positioned in the center, instead of off to the side (because otherwise it would cover something). Also note how the artist allowed Mickey to overlap the "boarder" a bit, without him getting in the way of the logos. In your cover, you're clearly trying to hide the full picture with some (rather untidy) brush tool. You might have lost before you even started because the picture you used is more suited for the vertical PS2 box art, whereas SNES boxart is more horizontal. It would have also been good to have found a cleaner SNES template -- the Super Nintendo logo is grainy compared to the rest, so it's obvious what was added. There. That was a little more constructive.
  23. Kinda sounds like a remix of Venom from the SNES Star Fox. Vaguely. But I don't know the rest of my Star Foxes, or my FFTs, so I can't scratch your itch, sorry.
  24. You can't miss a period you were never a part of, and I might be better off having missed it. I got into KH way late in the game, around the time BBS came into the states, and even then I didn't participate in the fandom (i.e. join KH13) until much later, around the time DDD was the Next Big Thing on the horizon. I had also spoiled myself silly, so I missed out on the active speculations the fandom did -- I'd already known the answers coming into each game I played. Since I came into the series already knowing the big picture, my attitude towards the lore and alleged rectons is much different from the players who watched things unfold game by game. I had no loyalty or player investment built up towards anything, no preconceived notions for what Kingdom Hearts "should" or "used to be like." So, it never felt like I had the rug swept out from under me when it turned out everything was just playing into the villain's plot convenience, or when keyblades were being treated as less mystical. I already knew that. And if I didn't know something, I wasn't surprised. In other words, I was able to see the series not for what it could be or used to be, but for what it is. I was never betrayed, in a sense. And honestly, I might be happier for it as a result. The fact that keyblades turned out to be man-made.. doesn't bother me at all. It feels like it should, and there have been valid arguments made for why it should, but it just doesn't. They had to come from somewhere, and hey, once it leaves the blacksmith it still needs to make the journey to a worthy host. In my mind, the keyblade is still special -- maybe even moreso knowing that they were constructed with specific intent, and not just something that just somehow manifests because, heart reasons. Kind of a cynical way of looking at it, since I pretty much had no expectations to betray. But hey, I still think the series is cool and interesting in spite of all the BS that goes along with it, so I won't argue with the results.
