Just completed the game. Think the drop system was a great addition. Added to the frantic nature of the battle system, and did it's job of balancing the play and story progression. Never even felt the need to use Drop-Me-Nots or -Nevers, as I found a Lvl 3 Drop Decelerator (one of the various drop rewards) usually gave me enough time to do what I wanted to do. Only ever dropped in a boss battle once, and it was against Xemnas, and he literally had about 2 hp left aside from that, didn't find it annoying or intrusive at all.

KH3D Metro.co.uk's shallow review
islandboy461 replied to Neriku_nt's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Um, as someone from the UK, I can assure you that getting a bad review from the Metro is as consequential as getting hit on the head by a falling leaf... Don't worry guys, he just gave it a bad review for attention. -
The metre could be a bit more even, and there could be more rhyme, be it internal or phrasal - that one rhyme of "recall" with "all" seems slightly jarring amidst mostly non-rhyming lines. And I would disagree with SquareSora, I think your imagery works quite well in conveying the desired meaning. I would say that the grammar and syntax do slightly muddle the conveyance, so revising those two aspects would also be good. For example, consider splitting "Flowing from a hundred springs laying all amassed" into two lines, or at least adding a comma after 'springs'. Also, it should be "A quiet field", not "An quiet field".

KH3D Hey guys, just wanted to share this.

Got an email at midday saying mine's been dispatched! Can't track it for some reason but hopefully it'll get here tomorrow! Can't believe it's finally time -
In retrospect, Twilight Princess is one of my least favourite Zelda games, though I did enjoy it the first time I played it. Wind Waker, on the other hand, is one of my favourites. After Skyward Sword and A Link to the Past that is.

Would just like to point out that, in Conan Doyle's stories, Moriarty has no grand aims like his Ritchie counterpart. He is simply a very smart criminal who stars in about one story and is mentioned in a few others.
-
Oh wow, that took me way too long to notice. Things like this make him such a great evil guy

I meant more in the way that Sora comes from a cross-over game himself (and also the fact that there may be some issues with Disney).
-
Possibility of Sora being in the 3DS release? Or is that a cross-over too far?

I'm so confused. What am I meant to be seeing? Also, favourite game of last year, and definitely a more interesting villain than Ganon.

Warning: Scary. Creepy Pasta: Majora

I got pretty obsessed with this a few weeks after starting uni... Pity the later 'arcs' aren't as engaging as the first. -
Thank god. I was starting to think I'm the only person that understands this fact.

KHRecoded Havent played this game yet--am I missing out?
islandboy461 replied to lighto13's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Personally, I enjoyed it, as the gameplay was decent for a DS action/adventure/RPG, and the story wasn't as bad as some made it out to be. As SHADOWPAIN stated though, the secret ending is ultimately all that matters. I'd give it a go if you haven't played KH1 in a while. -
KH3D Future Keyblade Wielders and the 7 lights
islandboy461 replied to arlux13's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Good idea in the general sense of there being more Keyblade wielders that may be introduced later but, as you yourself conceded, its unlikely they'll be amongst the seven lights. I think it's more than likely that new Keyblade wielders will be introduced in the games after KH3 and the completion of the Xehanort saga. -
KH3D *Spoilers* What do you think of...
islandboy461 replied to Tails's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
The question for me is less 'do I like the idea of Lea wielding a Keyblade?' and more 'What are the implications this has on the underlying plot?', as in my eyes it is clearly a plot device (and one that I saw as fairly predictable as soon as the footage of Lea going to Yen Sid in the Special Trailer was first released). It may have something to do with the "Xehanortification" process i.e. the potential vessels may have gained the ability through having a piece of the heart of a Keyblade Master implanted in them, the ramifications of this being that there may be even more potential combatants to take part in the new Keyblade War. Alternatively, the fact that AX's Keyblade would likely have, given what we saw happen to Braig, touched all those that he struck down and turned into Nobodies means that a round-about Keyblade Inheritance Ceremony may have been triggered. If this is the case, Lea's strength of heart was subsequently all that was needed in order to bring about the coming of his Keyblade - it may thus be said that other original Organisation members may not end up wielding them as they may not partake in any events that will strengthen and prove their hearts' worth, as Axel/Lea did, though they might given the right circumstances. Tying in with this is also the question of whether Lea is one of the seven lights. Given Mickey's description, it would seem he is not, and thus two ideas arise. Firstly, it may have been Xehanort's goal to allow for as many people to begin wielding Keyblades as possible, thus increasing the chances of another conflict breaking out - who knows, at some point he may even be able to exercise control over them due to them possessing a part of his Heart, and thus Lea may be forced to turn on the heroes. However, what seems more plausible to me is that this is an unforeseen and potentially unwanted outcome of the divergence of Xehanort's original intentions for Organisation XIII, as he has inadvertently allowed his failed vessels the ability to take up arms against him. Then again, there remains the possibilty that Isa and Braig may be able to wield their own eventually, and thus it may not have completely backfired. As far as Lea's use of the Keyblade goes, I agree with Keyblade King 12's view. Being able to use the Keyblade, his chakrams, and his fire manipulative abilities in battle would make him even more formidable than before. -
True and true ^^

Installments Beyond KH3 [Possible Spoilers]
islandboy461 replied to Skai's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
You could be on to something. Then again, they could not appear at all. After all, it's not like Nomura has to do anything with them. That being said, I'd be surprised if we don't at least see Marluxia again. Of course, the last possibilty is that they show up in KH3 or BBS V.2. They don't necessarily have to be a part of the new Organisation 13. Indeed, it'd make sense if they'd formed their own group under Marluxia. -
KH3D Kingdom Hearts 3D, Tetsuya Nomura interview with Nintendo
islandboy461 replied to DChiuch's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Nomura didn't create FFVII. He desigend some characters, concepts, and wrote some of the story. What's more, he stated it was whilst was working on it that he became impressed with Mario 64, not after its completion. Mario 64 came out a year before FFVII. And finally, the technical inovations and subsequent impact Mario 64 had on both platformers and 3d gaming in general was massive. FFVII, not so much. It didn't so anything drastically new in terms of RPG gameplay, or story telling for that matter. It was just hyped because it was the first 3D FF and also the first to be released in America. Mario 64 was a drastic game changer compared to its 2D predecessors. Several of FFVII's predecessors do pretty much all it does, and in many peoples' opinions, do them better. -
Nomura has stated that Cloud is from Radiant Garden. Why would Goofy be the source of knowledge when it comes to Cloud's past? What's more, I didn't say to not include PotCs 2 and 3 because I don't like them. The word I used was "convoluted". Do you really think, in a game with a pretty convoluted story of its own, that it'd be a good idea to try and base a story for a world off of two movies infamous for having an unnecessarily bewildering plot line? They could of course radically change the plot and keep some of the characters, but if they were to do that then they may as well just adapt PotC 4, which has a more easily incorporated story and just as good, if not better, characters. It's not like they couldn't then also include other elements such as the Kraken, Davy Jones, or the Flying Dutchmen as extra bosses or just cameos.
-
Midgar wouldn't really work, as Cloud, Aerith, and Yuffie all come from Radiant Garden in the KH universe. Likewise, Tidus is a DI kid, Yuna, Rikku, and Paine are weird little pixie things, and Auron is already dead, so Zanarkand would be pretty dull. I also reckon it's pretty much impossible that we'll see any elements at all from a series like Star Ocean i.e. one in which Nomura is not involved (as far as I'm aware). In fact, it's pretty much a given that no FF worlds will ever really appear. I would like to see a new original world populated by new FF characters, and (if I'm being very wishful) maybe more TWEWY characters and possibly even Chrono characters as well. As well as that, a return to Port Royal, but based around the 4th movie (not 2 or 3, as they're way too convoluted - fights against the Kraken or Davy Jones would be cool though) would work well I think, as well as a return to Wonderland, but this time based on Tim Burton's interpretation. As far as worlds from animations, Camelot (Sword in the Stone), Sherwood Forest (Robin Hood), and Prydain/Ancient Wales (The Black Couldron) would all fit nicely I think, what with their mythical/medieval/Celtic settings perhaps tying well with the idea of the repetition of an ancient, catastrophic war. Aside from that, Atlantis and Treasure Planet would also be cool. And am I the only person who thinks Pixar properties really wouldn't fit well into the KH universe?

KH3D a question about sora's jouney (spoilers)
islandboy461 replied to Kevin James Jimenez's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
We don't know how much time has lapsed. However, we can assume it's more than the time for just a walk, given that in that time Lea returns to Radiant Garden and Riku manages to go home, grab Kairi, and return to the Mysterious Tower. Mickey, Donald, and Goofy are likely staying there because it has become a sort of base of operations. So yes, whilst it's unlikely to be a very long period of time, it seems more than likely that Sora's departure has some sort of goal or purpose that he must achieve, and his being late to return perhaps suggests he is having trouble or has been distracted from doing so.
