James Woods. He seems to bring his A-Game every time Hades is called out.

They delve into the Realm of Sleep, manage to waken Ven, but also in the process waken Roxas, who winds up joining Xehanort, who promises him, after opening Kingdom Hearts, a heart of his own.

It's hard to say. I agree with you that I don't see Luxord or Demyx coming back with any great significance, except maybe as walk through cameos. Luxord especially doesn't seem to have a lot going for him, mainly because his role in KH2 is a bit short and is limited more or less to a mini boss, he doesn't seem to have a connection to the original apprentices or Xehanort, and he didn't get the benefit of getting a backstory in BBS. If Demyx has an edge here, it's that his personality was more memorable in KH2, as well as having more screen time. Also, another reason to think that Even may have a larger role ahead of him: in BBS, he seems to recognize that Ven is a special case, and claims they'll be seeing one another in the future (or something along those lines). Could be that his time as a Nobody only helped him to learn about keyblades and the nature of hearts, and now back to a whole, he's got more plans to go about exploiting them.

I'm not seeing Braig do a face turn any time soon. He seemed more than happy with being malicious when he was a human the first time, and even when his Nobody was fading out, he didn't seem to regret it a great deal. I reckon he's more likely to stick with being Xehanort's number two guy. The member I want to see back the most is Even. I think it was a shame that he got killed off a bit uncerimoniously in CoM, especially when you consider that his character is pretty important for the Organization in general, and with Roxas and Xion especially (assuming that their storyline will be continued somewhere down the line). Not to mention that his voice acting and dialogue are executed very well, and has way more personality than some of the rest. It would also be interesting to see Marluxia and Larxene, if for no other reason that, as they tried to rebel against the Organization earlier, they would hardly be allowed back into the ranks, and then trying to see where they'd go. I imagine they'd pull a Pete/Malificient thing where they're their own gang with their own plans. Also, given that Marluxia was the main villain of CoM, and was certainly powerful within said game, you'd think he'd be back somewhere down the line if less interesting characters like Lexaeus are.

I don't know, I kind of want to believe that Xheanort, Xemnas, and Ansem (IE, the Heartless one) all had their own sentient being, with their own agendas. In each game, they all seem to have a plan which mostly benefits their own existence exclusively. The Heartless Ansem wants to get into Kingdom Hearts in order to fill all the worlds with darkness; Xemnas wants it in order to have claim of all hearts and become complete; and Xheanort wants it as a trigger for a war. Really, none of these plans seem to immediately benefit the other, so to think that they're all part of the same grander scheme doesn't hold up, in my thoughts.

I'm a bit torn on the game. On one hand, I can appreciate the attempt at doing something different. The notion of having each level offer something relatively different from the others gave it a feeling of variety and continuing interest. I especially liked the notion of giving Donald and Goofy direction in the Hollow Bastion level, as well as the traditional RPG gameplay in Olympius Colliseum. All together, the game felt more like a traditional platformer, with more attention to jumping and puzzle solving than being more action oriented, and what's more, it did it pretty well, I thought. The problem right there, though, is that the thing I love about Kingdom Hearts is the fast paced fighting and button mashing, and without that element present here, the game did not feel like what a Kingdom Hearts game ought to. Had this been a completely original title, it would have been great, but underneath the Kingdom Hearts mantle, it just didn't hold up. Also, the story is lacking. While I did appreciate that they didn't completely recycle the plotlines from each world, and tried to add new elements her and there, the grander story arc was a bit flat. Try though I might, I can't quite take the threat of red blocks popping up as seriously as the game wants me to. Compared to whole worlds being eaten by Heartless, it doesn't really hold up. The ending and ultimate payoff was pretty solid, and who you fight as the final boss was a very pleasent surprise, but as someone else has said, you really didn't need to dedicate a whole game to it, and could have just put it at the front of DDD. Ultimately, while it's not really that bad a game, it's not that great a Kingdom Hearts game.

This is what did it for me as a kid. But I think I tend to agree with you: Pete's design is more to off set the darkness of everyone else.

The Pete in Kingdom Hearts is made out to be more of a comical sort of villain, who's acts of evil are presented more as mischevious skullduggery than actual villainy. While his presence in the game is still potent, I do feel that the character is made almost a farcical at times, especially when in the same class as other Disney Villains such as Malificient. I wonder how the games would change if Pete was to take on a more serious, threatening role, such as he did in some of the older cartoons, most notably in The Prince and the Pauper. On the flip side, of course, Kingdom Hearts has an abundance of serious, brooding villains, and perhaps the comic relief that Pete provides is necessary in order to keep the light hearted spirit of the game up. Thoughts and comments on whether Pete is okay as he is ( a sort of lovable wannabe villain), or if he might have been better had he been portrayed as more potently threatening.
