"Hmm. Wait, if you're a mermaid, then how did you think you where the monster in the first place? And where's Jarry, Hawk, and Night?" Nessa asked, starting to see that things she'd dismissed before were looking very suspicious. "Should we head to the dance? Or look for them?"
-
"Really? Show me, it could come in handy in battle." Nessa suggested. "You'll dry off eventually, I want to see if you can do it when you're not in mermaid form."
-
Nessa laughed, and examined Alison. "So I guess this happened when you got wet? Jarry said I should stay here until you were dry. Are there any towels in here?" Nessa asked, looking around the room.
-
Nessa scowled in the darkness. "Fine. But if you don't come back, I'm going to have to save all of you." She muttered into her phone, and walked in the direction of the music room. She saw Jarry run by, and walked in. "Alison?" she asked, stopping after seeing Alison's tail. "Well, you certainly aren't the monster." she observed.
-
"What?! Well, that's great news! I'll find Night and Hawk and tell them. Mermaid, huh? Never would've guessed." Nessa felt herself relax a little. "What, Night calling again? Hello?" But no one answered. "Oh no, not good, not good." She quickly went back to Jarry. "Jarry, Night and Hawk are in trouble. If I don't come back in ten minutes, call me and if I don't answer I'm in trouble. I'm going to the back of the school."
-
Nessa snapped her phone shut, only to have it ring again. "Oh no, what now?" she muttered, heading to the dance. "Hello, Jarry? What is it? We think Matt might be up to something." she said quickly, looking around her, suddenly paranoid. Somethings not right. She quickened her pace toward the dance.
-
"Right." Nessa mumbled, pulling out her phone, and dialed Night's phone number. "Hey, it's Nessa. You ok? I think we need to keep an eye on Matt." she said, walking into the school.
-
"I agree." Nessa nodded. She looked at him with a raised eyebrow, though. "I'm not sure if I like the way you're smiling. Nothing extremely bad will happen, right?"
-
Going to Disney World tomorrow!
-
"I think I'll stand guard, better safe than sorry." Nessa replied, pulling out one of her knives, carefully scanning the corridor to make sure it was empty. This is so tense, I'm wound up like a spring.
-
"Yeah, I see it. Are we going in there?" Nessa asked, looking over the room. I wonder what the others are doing.
-
"Thanks." Nessa went inside, the music slightly louder. "Monster, come out, come out, where ever you are." she whispered.
-
"This had better work. They won't be able to see it, will they?" Nessa asked, going in. She could soon hear the thump of music, wondering what would happen if she were one of the normal kids tonight.
-
Nessa found Hawk, and headed over. "Ready?" she asked. She caught sight of the crack on the wall, and rolled her eyes mentally and ignored it.
-
Nessa nodded. "Thanks." She ran upstairs, and quickly found her's. It was long, and was a swirl of black and dark green. She quickly changed into it, slipping on her knives underneath the long sleeves, and keeping on her red sneakers, figuring she was probably going to be doing some running. Pulling her hair into a quick bun, she headed back downstairs. "Ready when you guys are."
-
"Alright. Do you have everyone's coustumes with you?" Nessa asked. At least Night isn't locked in a storage closet or something.
-
"Hey. Wow, you guys look amazing." Nessa added, seeing their costumes. "Anyone else here yet?"
-
Nessa arrived at Jarry's house and knocked on the door. "Am I the first one here?" she wondered aloud. "I would've thought Night would get here first." A small twinge of uneasy settled in her stomach.
-
Nessa sat on her bed, staring at her clock, counting the minutes. Am I sure I want to be doing this? Yes, of course I do. What choice do I have, anyway? She thought, arguing with herself. Something just doesn't feel right about this, or maybe I'm just nervous. Who wouldn't be? Bored, she opened the Grimmerie and studied the spells she'd already mermorized. Sighing, she slipped it into her bookbag. "Guess I should go check with the others."
-
"I guess I'm heading home too." Nessa said, heading to the door. "Of course, I'm the only one who doesn't have an amzing exit." she muttered, getting out her car keys and heading home.
-
Nessa took out a scrap of paper and wrote her size on it. "Here's mine. I think you can guess which costume I am." she replied, handing the paper over. I'm getting more excited and anxious by the minute.
-
"I'm sure I'll be able, Hawk. And Night, probably potions." Nessa answered. "Okay, so the dance is tonight, what are we going to do, exactly? Everyone's here now, we need to think about details."
-
Nessa shrugged. "As far as I'm aware, I can cast spells, enchant things, magic, etc. etc. Alchemy? Maybe, I haven't exactly had alot of time to expirement."
