The update for the Nathan/Nora group is up, I've also introduced Chester into their group, just assume he is only just waking up. I'm going to take an approach to lower the work load for myself a little bit and give more active parties more of a chance to stay interested while not hurting others; I'll be making updates on specific groups instead of uniform updates on all groups. This should make the updates faster and keep the pace a little bit better while not making it too fast for groups who have people who are a little more busy with other things.

Nathan and Nora Group "Ha..." The voice echoed from the dissipating smoke. "Haha...ha. Well that was... anticlimactic." Warthyp's staff clattered to the ground and he fell to his knees as his figure became visible to Nora and Nathan. "I... wasn't expecting you to be so good. Maybe you are the ones we've been waiting for." With that, Warthyp fell to the ground and died. And Crest came to life. Color shot out from the trial building, broads strokes of paint being contorted by gravity that colored in every street and alley; every building and shop. Where there was pure white before there was now rich amber bricks and thick black pavement on the streets. Just like that, the entire area began to look like a real place. Blank shops became earthy cafes with cups of coffee sitting outside still steaming, and where large pure skyscrapers were now stood towering silver monuments, with lush carpeting inside and bold logos adoring their egdes. Nathan and Nora had completed the first trial. "Congratulations." It was the first time yet that Q seemed audibly happy. "You exceeded my expectations and dispatched Warthyp handily. His death also revealed to me that he had been witholding a boy who was supposed to have joined your groups earlier. Allow me to release him." From the ceiling of the ball room a 19-year old brown haired boy materialized, floating down into the center of the room. "Chester Lloyd" Q explined. "He'll be waking up any moment now, please do greet him kindly." Then in only Nathan's mind, Q began to speak in a softer tone. "You're badly hurt. Damage that cannot be easily undone. I do not wish you to die, Nathan, so I am preparing a chamber in which you can recover your health and be ready for the dangers ahead. This unfortunatley means that you will have to enter a small temporary slumber at which time Nora and your new companion Chester will be travelling along. This is your decision to make, but looking at your vital signs now it is something I recommend you take."

Seems like his main point was simply to reinforce a non-superficial way of how characters act around each other, and that a group of men would act differently, and more openly with each other than if there was a women in the group, which seems to be less an insult on women and more an analysis of how people of different genders interact with each other as opposed to people of the same gender. The titling is a bit worrisome, but often that comes down to the Japanese-English translation, not nessecarily the way the speaker was talking about, as far as his core point goes, I think he's got somewhat of a point. The same would apply to all-female cast I'd say.

Up until a trial is passed besically the entire city is made of pure white metallic material. Understandable, I'll post updates for the Nathan/Nora group first. Sorry to hear that. I'll make some changes. Don't worry about any issues on our side, I'll take care of it, have a good one! Looks good, I'll get your character put in soon.

Hi guys! So, first things first, some apologies. I did not intend to be away this long. This is actually my Spring Break so I intended to be more available. Didn't quite work out. I was on a skiing trip over the weekend to kick off my break and ended up taking a solid fall and getting my shoulder/ribs injured. Having to go to the hospital for that and such changed up a lot of my plans, and complicated some things. I'll be going through all the posts today and trying to get things moving again. Sorry for the delay. Also, Sora's Baby, what questions did you have? I'd be happy to get stuff sorted if you're going to put in a character sheet.

Sorry, Hazimie, for some reason I completely missed your post when I was scanning through the posts previously, that's all my bad. You're upgrade will be some addition to your current power or a new power that directly relates to your current power. That sounds good, consider it confirmed!

Asher Group "Using you..." For a moment it seemed Q may be at a loss for words. "You met a certain individual didn't you? He convinced you that I was your enemy, is that it? Very well, believe what you will. There is no escaping this City or fighting the flow of the events to come, but rest assured; I am no enemy. This City itself will show you. So my question, dear Asher, is where will you go now?" Reverie and Liath Group As the pair walked south Q's voice chimed in for a moment. "Congratulations on your discovery, you have found Oasis, a new district of The City ((map will be updated with it tomorrow)). You seem to have come across its very centerpiece as well. Good luck." Before the pair stood a huge pool. The skyline of the city tapered off and disappeared and in this section there was simply streets that converged into one sunken area filled with water. The water seemed only as white as the rest of the city, though the reflections cast off its surface gave it away. The pool of water wasn't even the most fascinating element though. The elevator was. In the center of the pool of water was an elevator, seemingly sitting on the surface. A small line of stepping stones made it from the elevator over the water to dry land... and the stones were right ahead of Liath and Reverie. There were so many questions to be answered in this city, but there was only one that pair needed to answer: Going down? Jason, Kristy, Sora, Yuki, Maxwell Group The final Marauder was eviscerated by Kristy's blast and Maxwell's bolt and peace once again settled over the new group. "I'm impressed" Q's voice rang over the group. "I hadn't expected Yuki and his fellow to so quickly use their new-found ability to aid others. Perhaps there is potential yet for all of you. Kristy then felt a strange warmth around her whole being. For a moment it even looked as if she was.... glowing. "And you, Kristy," Q spoke again, "You made a good call to save a friend. Your actions do not go without reward, and for that you powers are growing at this moment." ((Ultimus, you've got your pick of how you want to upgrade your power. Just message me or post in the discussion thread and I'll confirm what you want as long as it's balanced)) A comforting quiet then surrounded the group. They had just had a very close call, and found new friends in the struggle, so now they had decide where their new alliance would be going next... Nathan and Nora Group The doors opened into a grand ballroom. No blades in sight, luckily. Baroque decorations lined the walls, and golden chandeliers bathed the room in a warm glow. A huge red carpet stretched across the massive room, leading to a huge stained glass window. Here all of the whiteness and blankness of the city seemed so far away. The stained glass window seemed to show a field of flowers, painted in rich reds and thick greens. "So you did arrive after all." That's when they noticed the man at the end of the carpet, standing beneath the great window at the end of the ballroom. He wore great golden robes, diamond studded gauntlets, and even had a crown fashioned on his head. In his hand he gripped a gilded scepter with a large blue crystal at its head. He looked serious. "I finally get a visitor in my gilded prison. Are you here to gain more power, to bring the city to life, to end my existence?" He smiled as he looked over the battered boy and the girl who was helping him through the door. "That's all she sent. I deserve royalty! I deserve heralds! She sends you! You filthy churls have no place in my estate." The robed man raised the scepter and blue energy began to swirl around him. "I am the majestic Warthyp, and you disgrace me with your presence! Have you any last words?!?" Strangely then Q's voice entered their mind for moment, speaking calmly but with speed. "You will want to raise your weapons." Laciann, Alysa, Aro Group As the phantoms of the past were cut down they seemed to begin to retreat... until the group could notice that they were in fact coalescing; collecting into a single huge mass of terrifying proportions. The screams of the dead and gone and those lost or left behind filled the void, as the mass of bodies formed two arms of mass and lurched towards the group, swinging towards Laciann and Alysa.. The Misfits With Aildur somewhat healed the party could now return to the next stage of their journey; opening the door. "Go right ahead," Q spoke, "It's time for you to re-enter The City and discover a whole new district..." Le Chef and Natasha Group As Le Chef and Natasha traveled north they passed by dozens of unremarkable white skyscrapers... until finally they came across what could only be the trial. A huge domed building sat before them. The street opened up into a huge grand staircase that rose towards two gigantic doors that made up the building's entrance. Time to find out what was on the menu next.

Sorry about the wait guys. Got another interview today and I've been trying to balance some projects with prepping for it. Next update will be either tonight or tomorrow.

Asher Group The explosion practically evaporated the dolls as they charged Asher. His fury seemed to be channeled into the very attack itself. Finally Asher was left all along in the city streets with remnants of dolls strewn about and scorch marks scarring the pure white pavement. "So..." it was Q. "I'm guessing something has happened. You seem... of a different temperment since you first entered the Unknown event, did something troubling occur?" Reverie and Liath Group In the remnants of the Marauder pod, with the final beast laid to rest Liath and Reverie were able to take a moment to rest. The silence of their victory was soon interrupted though, as power seemed to course from the Marauders into Reverie, and Q's voice joined the activity as well. "I see you've emerged victorious against the Marauders, congratulations. Reverie, for finishing the final Marauder you have been able to absorb some of the power they've brought here, allowing you to update your powers. Take some time to rest up, you two, and once you're good to go and familiar with your new abilities, don't be afraid to continue to exploration." ((Hazimie, you now have the opportunity to choose how you wish to upgrade you powers, I'll just have to double-check your choice for balance)) Jason, Kristy, Sora, Yuki, Maxwell Group The Marauder, as it was so close to striking Sora and Kristy, was suddenly struck by Yuki's attack, flying backward and then exploding, leaving the only threat as the remaining Marauder who had just been disarmed, who now charged at Jason and viciously threw a punch towards him... There was still a fight to finish. The party was fighting this battle in the center of an urban intersection, flanked by several huge blank billboards and a few smaller shops with one or two skyscrapers sitting near the road nearby. Nathan and Nora Group As Nora worked her healing paints the blades continued to compress in further on the pair... Time to act fast. Laciann, Alysa, Aro Group The figure of Alysa's father exploded in blood, showering the party, while the crowd continue to move inward. Now they seemed... dangerous. Their movements grew erratic and they began to shamble angrily en masse towards the party... The Misfits (Jay and the people who were sacrificed) The Lava-fish shot backward into the distant sky, and the party now had time to rest and make it to the white door. Q's voice chimed in once the situation had calmed. "Congratulations. You made use of your powers and worked with your teammates to survive a tense encounter. You are ready to re-enter the City. Take a moment to rest, and then head through the door." On all sides the magma instantly cooled into hard volcanic rock, stabilizing the area and further easing the surrounding conditions. The white door lay just ahead... waiting to be opened.

Totally understandable Hazimie. I'll make sure the pace doesn't move too rapidly in the meantime.

Well the idea is that if Yuki can create clouds then he can use clouds to transport others as well. To note, I may need to limit this power down the line for certain reasons, but for now it's all fine.

Yeah, Yuki wanted to get the power to go to more places so I decided to give him the transportation power. It's all good.

((Updating some posts now, here's the current one for all the updates I have currently done) Asher Group The man sighed after Asher spoke. "Were it so easy to explain, Asher, I would." The transparent figure of the man then turned and walked towards Asher. He looked over the young man as if he was seeing some far off galaxy science had only theorized of. The far-off sound of shuffling feet grew less far off... Dolls. "I know you because I am a man looking to help save the world, and you are one of the few who can do that. I know you because I needed to know every option our world had for salvation. Asher, you are that salvation. Part of it, at the very least." He jotted some more notes down as he seemed to flicker more and more erratically. "But Q... She doesn't want that. She wishes to use you for her own ends. This City... it is a weapon, and she wants you to arm it for her." He paused and thought for a moment. "There is no way around playing into her game for the moment, but keep an eye out. Anywhere you can learn more information about Q, where she is in this city, and how to stop her, please do so." The Doctor began to phase nearly entirely out of existence. "I'll be back here soon. Until then, Asher, be strong." With that, The Doctor disappeared. Now Asher found himself surrounded by three humanoid dolls, now circling him. One the Doctor was gone they all lunged toward Asher, showing fierce claws on their hands... Asher found himself in a fight. Maxwell, Le Chef, Yuki, Natasha Group The Marauder monster slowed down greatly from Le Chef's peanut butter and at that single moment its legs were struck by Maxwell's lightning fast strike the creature toppled to the ground, just as Yuki rose over it and let forth his vicious Kamehameha, tearing through the Marauder and finishing it off. As it fell, it was evaporated by the concentrated charge that Maxwell released into it. Through their concerted effort, the trio had downed the monster in a rather fast amount of time. Q's voice was their immediate reward. "You have done it. I must admit, I'm impressed. Your teamwork and independent skills are impeccable. The marauder's power has been transferred into the boy who finished it off. Yuki seem to now have the ability to use his clouds to travel great distances. It seems you can all most around The City incredibly quickly now. Congratulations, here's hoping it is the first of many victories." The Marauder evaporated into the air, and Yuki seemed to glow for a moment as he was imbued with his new powers. Now it was time to decide where to go next. Reverie and Liath Group The Marauders lay beaten, but still one rose, terribly injured but still functioning. In a last ditch effort it let forth a volley of blasts towards Reverie and Liath as it let out a piercing roar. Time to end this first StarFall... Jason, Kristy, Sora Group The Marauder who struck at Sora was slightly injured, but now seemed to be filled with bloodlust. It moved back and raised it's sword for another strike. Before it could do so, however, Kristy began to heal Sora, staunching the bleeding a little bit and allowing Sora to think somewhat more clearly... On Jason's side he was able to disarm the Marauder he faced, and the being recoiled, looking shocked. Nathan and Nora Group Nathan was able to keep most of the blades at bay using his gravitation powers, though a few flew in and nicked him on his shoulders on arms. Standing over Nora the two were able to hold a small conversation with the blades flying all around them, inching in slowly. Laciann, Alysa, Aro Group With Aro's blast, the huge figure toppled backwards before it could stomp on them. As he hit the ground, Alysa's father was reduced to normal size. A huge gaping wound came out of his chest. He crawled slowly towards Alysa and grabbed her leg, begging at her. "Please... Alysa. Please help me. Your friends did this... to your own father. You let this happen Alysa, why?" Suddenly figured began to appear on the edges of the strange space the group found themselves in. There were people, familiar people from each person's life. ((Now might be a good time to decide on some elements of your character's past). They all stared blankly at the group and bit by bit they walked inward towards them, slowly drawing closer and closer. As they did, the group could now see that each one was covered in blood. They were moaning or screaming, and they reached their hands out as they drew closer... The Misfits (Jay and the people who were sacrificed) As the group progressed along the stones, and Wlynn flew overheard, a great rumbling could be heard behind them, where suddenly a gigantic fish-like monster emerged from the lava and tore into the stone they were walking on. It descended back into the lava and within a few more seconds had emerged once more... making its way rather quickly to the group.

Yo guys, I'm back from PAX! I'll be posting an update in a bit, but I have to finish a project before tonight so it may either be updated tonight or tomorrow morning. Also, Scrap's, right, it's totally a potato I'm foreseeing.

Game Development/Software Development co-ops/internships. I need two to graduate so I'm pushing it fairly hard.

Hey guys, bit of an update, the RP will take a temporary pause as I have one of the busiest few days/weekend of my life. I've got to speak with several people about job opportunities, take an interview, speak to a person I just interviewed with, and finish two projects, and then on top of that I'll be going to PAX East tomorrow as well, meaning my time is going to be heavily wrapped up. My updates will resume as usual on Monday. Meanwhile you should all brainstorm some fun theories now that the Doctor is introduced (he is a recurring character for those curious). So much left to be revealed... See you all Monday!

Agh! I knew I missed something. That's all me, sorry. I had it all planned and everything I just forgot to implement. You'll be in Nathan's scenario, I'll edit it right now so just check my post again and you should see your character's intro. Sorry again!

Asher Group As Asher continued forward into the next district, he could notice distortions in the City up ahead. Now firmly in the new District of Veil, Asher fine came to the source of these distortions. There seemed to be a man... only he didn't seem to a full person. He was transparent... like some sort of illusion. He was wearing what seemed to be formal attire; black shores complimenting black slacks, and a gray vest on top of a white buttoned shirt. He was looking around taking notes at the same time. As Asher approached the man he looked over. "Asher..." The man seemed to recognize Asher immediately, but it was clearly nobody from his past. He took some moments to examine the young man and then scribbled some more notes down. "We haven't much time, and I'm sure you have no idea who I am, but I must speak with you. You may call me the Doctor, names may only confuse you in this state. I'm here to help you. Here to... free you." He paused, searching for his next sentence. "Tell me, have you been contacted by an individual going by the name... Q?" Maxwell, Le Chef, Yuki, Natasha Group The gigantic gray robo-beast flinched at Maxwell's strike, and then brought one of its hulking fists down towards him. Yuki's cloud didn't seem to phase the beast, but when Le Chef manipulated it to spew molasses it had the desired effect of blinding the hulking monstrosity. After that it began to flail about viciously. As it did, Maxwell struck it in the leg, and it toppled slightly, just as it was struck by lightning, leaving it quite injured but even more angry as a result... Reverie and Liath Group The Marauder shot was deflected from hitting Liath due to Reverie's quick action, but the other one, after taking a glancing shot from his Diablo cannon, got close enough to its target and pounced directly on Reverie, fangs bared... Inside the gray pod, there were strange energy conduits and controls. It seemed to Mr. It, however, that this could be hijacked into a makeshift flying mech vehicle. It was battered heavily and would likely come apart very soon, but in the mean time it could be just the tool they needed... Jason, Kristy, Sora Group Kristy's blast hit on of the figured in the shoulder before it had time to see it coming. It recoiled back and went down on one knee, just in time to get eviscerated by Sora's hail of bullets. The other three, somewhat grazed by Sora's spray, immediately brought up their guard and charged towards the group. Each one pursued a corresponding member of the group, striking hard and fast with their blades... Nathan Group The elevator doors closed and the buzz of motion filled the air as it rose up the highrise. When it stopped there was a single moment of silence. Then the door opened. A dagger flew right next to Nathan's face and lodged itself in the back of the elevator. The room before him would be... challenging. It was nice change from the outside; here the walls were painted a rich lavender and a thick plush carpet engulfed the floor. There was furniture here too. Chairs, glass coffee tables, and large reclined sofas. They just so happened to be spiraling around the room at high speeds. With about 200 various blades along with them. Some sort of unseen vortex was whirling all the contents of the room around, with a ridiculous number of swords, axes, and daggers thrown in for good measure. They rarely seemed to follow some sort of pattern, but some force kept them airborne and moving. A single rich oak door lay on the other side from the elevator. It was a good 50 feet distance. Nathan would have to utilize his powers and ingenuity quite wisely here. (Just write what his first few moves are and then I'll explain how the flying object shift around and if you successfully evaded them.) But there was another thing to consider. In the center of the room, under all the flying blades and furniture, lay a sleeping girl with purple eyes and blue hair. As the elevator door opened she was just waking up. He name was Nora. "Welcome my new friend." A woman's voice greeted her awakening. "I am Q, and you now find yourself in The City. Beware, you have found yourself in a very dangerous position, but you are not alone. Make it out of this challenge with him and more will be explained." Laciann, Alysa, Aro Group As Alysa stepped into the rift, it expanded violently and suddenly engulfed the entire group. Each suddenly found themselves in a black void. Around them, being of light began to appear. Voices that sounded all too familiar... Alysa first recognized her father. He was speaking, but not to her. Then he looked over, his eyes glowing as he looked at her. Then he began morph, into a monstrosity. He was bigger than her now, far bigger, so much so that he eclipsed her. "Who are you?" His voiced boomed as his foot lifted up and moved over the group. "I don't recognize you..." It came crashing down towards them... The Misfits (Jay and the people who were sacrificed) Jay and Tristan both stormed over to the red door as they did the entire room fell away and they realized that they (all of the group now) stood upon a single rock in a pool of lava... directly in an erupting volcano. "You see..." Q began to speak again, "What we choose is what we make our reality. Your fire, you're determination and your heat build the very place you find yourself in." There were other, smaller rocks on a sort of path ahead. The lava pool flowed down the volcano on all sides, but the trail of the rocks led to a huge white door at the foot of the mountain. That seeemed to be their way out. On the way however, lava was spewing up and arcing in various random directions. They would have to use their powers wisely to make it across the rocks and lava. And worst of all, every one of them could feel something... coming.

Unknown challenges will differ. Unlike StarFall and Trial events, there is no definitive pattern to Unknowns. They are strange manifestations of the City's power, and that could come in any form, with any form of reward. Where StarFall events are almost always combat, and Trials are almost always environment puzzles, Unknowns are where all the other ones lie; interpersonal choices, moral choices, battles of wit or information. They are when things get interesting. I did not! Thank you for the heads up, I'll read her signups right before I get to the update stuff later.

Still working on some projects in the labs, so it will still be a bit before a proper update, but I'll have one up tonight. In the mean team I took a sec to update the map and show off the mysterious new district Neko's character found.

Have tristan pick a door to go through, and I'll post about going through it then, hopefully that will help to pick up the post frequency. That's totally understandable.
