Well, seeing how it's the one that all other keyblades were forged in the image of, yes. Absolutely, without a doubt. People seem to forget that the keyblades were literally forged, while the X-Blade is a counterpart to Kingdom Hearts, a magical entity with God-level power. It's not even close. I would say though, that wielding it is similar to wielding a keyblade, its strength comes from the wielder's heart. In the X-blade's case, this includes Kingdom Hearts, which is made up of every heart that has ever been. This would mean that Kingdom Hearts would have greater control over the X-Blade's strength than its wielder, and it could have limited Xehanort in the fight against Sora, so as not to destroy the universe.

Marluxia's role in DDD

From what I've heard, again, if anyone is more familiar with the story correct me, they're in a datascape within the Realm of Dreams. -
Marluxia's role in DDD
Darkfire1408 replied to Darkfire1408's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
While it was only shown in KH3 putting Sora to sleep, he was one of the dandelion leaders right? Which means that along with the others, he was in the realm of dreams. Correct me if I'm wrong though, I'm not entirely caught up on the KHUX story. -
In Kingdom Hearts 3, we see Marluxia putting Sora into a deep sleep. It's safe to assume that Marluxia has a special power over sleep. In DDD, the organization hijacked the Realm of Dreams to capture and corrupt Sora. Due to sleep being Marluxia's power, and all the years he spent in the realm of dreams, (probably where he got the power anyways) I think Marluxia was the one who hijacked it. This would be the reason Xehanort kept Marluxia in the organization, even after his betrayal. Until now I thought that was odd, he literally planned to kill xemnas and take over organization 13. If it wasn't for this, his inclusion wouldn't make sense.

Critical mode is a godsend!
Darkfire1408 replied to Darkfire1408's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
They even added more superslides, like I had been complaining about a few weeks ago, fixing pretty much all of the problems flowmotion had in the game. -
Man, we've been waiting for this for so long. In the 200+ hours I've logged in this game, I've died once to the Frozen boss. I died twice in the tutorial on critical mode. Finally, the challenge we've been waiting for. Anyone else confused about aerial dodge though? it just seems like an airslide, but you cover less distance. I don't see a purpose for it.
-
Well, most of what they've said it was was stuff like changing the AI, adding abilities, making battles more strategic. So hopefully it will fix some of those issues.

Had a dream last night that I was playing critical mode, and there was a new feature called the 7 minute Lucky Bonus. It triggered like an attraction flow and had 7 abilities attached to it. One augmented your attacks similar to the spellbinder form change, the second was Lucky strike, third was jackpot, fourth upgraded all your spells to the next level. Fire to fira, curaga to curaza, etc, the fifth was wizards ruse, the sixth was damage syphon, and the seventh was mp hastega. Thought it was a pretty awesome way to deal with the enhanced difficulty. Can't wait to see what they actually have when the dlc releases tomorrow though.

KH 3 Actual Recipes
Darkfire1408 replied to Darkfire1408's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
And the finished product! Forgot to get mint for the garnish, but other than that it looks pretty close. If I had a food processor to use instead of a hand mixer the crust probably would have turned out better. I substituted half the sugar for honey in the cream cheese mix, definitely a good choice, honey always pairs well with fruit. I would probably double the whole cream cheese mix though, it was difficult to spread around due to the amount it made and the thickness of it. 8/10, would make again. Next, I want to try my hand at a Consommé. I haven't settled on a particular recipe yet, but it's basically a chicken and vegetable stock that you clarify using egg whites. I'm excited. Anyone else have experiences/recipes they'd like to share?- 3 replies

KH 3 Actual Recipes
Darkfire1408 replied to Darkfire1408's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
Yeah, with shortbread though, I find it can be finiky with margarine. I'm suprised that the recipe doesn't have you cream the butter before adding in the rest of the crust. We'll see how it works out. Be sure to share your results!- 3 replies

My guess is both. Although Xehanort said that data can't dream in DDD, it's clear that that's not the case. He was similarly wrong about data not being able to possess hearts. My guess would be that whatever datascape they're in, that data is dreaming. The world fell to darkness and, until it's reconstructed into many worlds by hearts of light, the entire world would have been lost to darkness, sending them safely into the realm of dreams.

Does anyone know how to actually make one or more of the recipes featured in the game? I cook and bake a little myself and these all look super tasty. Anyways, I thought this might be a nice thread to share and try out some of the recipes from the game! To start out, I found a recipe for a Tarte aux Fruit that looks pretty close to the one in the game. I'm probably going to try it out sometime next week, and post my results. Anyone else want to try? http://www.meettheshannons.net/2011/07/vegetalien-tarte-aux-fruits-frais-vegan.html?m=1 I'm not vegan myself, so I'll probably use dairy products instead of their vegan substitutes.

I agree that they should have been in there, but I understand the decision to cut them. Nomura wanted to focus on wrapping up the Xehanort saga, and they started running out of disc space. With all their original characters coming back, they had enough of a supporting cast to make the plot work. But without them it only feels like we got half of the game. Hopefully at least sephiroth will be added via dlc. I could easily see him waiting in that one courtyard area with the statue of Zeus.

Why all the Kairi hate?
Darkfire1408 replied to Darkfire1408's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
I guess that's the part I don't understand. She did a lot this game. I mean, like I said, she's the only one who didn't die to the demon tide. She's the sole reason why light didn't expire as foretold. She was able to hold on and help everyone else hold on to who they were. Sora couldn't have saved their hearts without her, and Namine couldn't have contacted Terra, changing their fates. Their entire victory lies on Kairi's strength. Without her, Xehanort would have destroyed the worlds and killed everyone and everything, and no one else would have had a chance to stop him. She was super important to the final battle. -
I've seen a lot of people complaining about Kairi being kidnapped again and not accomplishing much in KH3. Honestly, I never expected anything else from her. In fact, I would have been suprised if she wasn't kidnapped. The only suprising part for me was that Xehanort killed her. I mean, Kairi is basically Square Enix's version of a Disney princess. She's meant to be compared to them. They're always getting kidnapped, or stumbling into danger, or otherwise having some large problem their true love has to help them with. Their prince is defined by their efforts to save them. Aladdin showed Jasmine a whole new world, and saved her from marrying Jafar. Eric saved Ariel from Ursula, and, well, showed her a whole new world. Prince Kit (Charming) searched the kingdom for Cinderella, and saved her from her wicked stepmother and ugly stepsisters. Prince Phillip literally fought a dragon and woke Aurora from an eternal sleep. Kairi's no different. She lost her heart, and entrusted it to Sora, who brought it back to her. She was always written to be Sora's princess, and that theme has been constant. Besides, her role, and what happened to her was tragically poetic, and beautifully so. The whole series, Sora's whole journey started with finding and saving her. KH1 and 2 mirror and build up to this as well. After Sora finds and saves Kairi in KH1, she in turn saves him from being a heartless. In KH2, she goes looking for him, even though she doesn't remember who he is, and by doing this, she ends up reuniting him with Riku again. In KH3, she joins the fight, she's the only one who survived the demon tide the first time, and she led Sora back to the Realm of light, and the living. Then, she was kidnapped again. Xehanort killed her to forge the X-blade, and in the end, Sora gave his life to bring her back. Now she's left alone, and it's her turn again to save him. Even Sora commented on this. This whole journey was about saving her, and it's not over until they're together again. It's not that Kairi's weak and can't stand up for herself, or that Nomura wrote her poorly. She's extremely well written. She's the light that Sora needs to protect. Saving the universe three times was a happy accident. It was never about saving the worlds, it was about saving his. She defines Sora in a way that no adventure, power, or responsibility ever could.

Gummi Ship DLC
Darkfire1408 replied to Darkfire1408's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
The biggest thing for me would be the cost limit upgrade. Nothing's more frustrating than designing the perfect looking ship, and only having enough cost left over to put on a Fire-G or two, and then seeing the special blueprints at like 4 times your cost limit. -
Similar to my idea for it, with the light and dark blades. I'd suggest the Faith attack (Roxas in KH2, data Sora and roxas, and Sora in DDD have versions of this command. If you're not familiar, it's essentially pillars of light spreading out in a circle dealing massive light damage aoe and healing you) as a finish command instead and replacing Dodge roll and air slide with reversal.
