Awesome! Is this also from Shonen Jump? -
KH3D *Spoilers* YMX/MF Identity Theory
TheKHTheorist replied to BlueRose729's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Hmmm... If this theory holds true, then the bigger question would be when and why Xehanort possesed Ven in said alternate timeline. Ven was supposed to be Xehanort's origional host, so this doesn't sound impossible. If he did end up possesing Ven, why would he create Vanitas? Seeing as Vanitas is in the trailer with him, he would have had to posses him after the split between Ven and Vanitas, but Xehanort might not be too happy about shareing room in his body with a guy that is 100 percent light. -
KH3D Kingdom Hearts 3D website updated with new trailer
TheKHTheorist replied to DChiuch's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
No... it's not. It's le Cite des Clotches. You can tell because of the design on the floor. In the TGS trailer we see Riku using Holy Rope (the special attack for le Cite des Clotches) in the exact same room that the begging of the trailer takes place. -
KH3D Theory:Doubt to Darkness

*Tries to edit in extra spaces* Hey, look it worked! Is that better? -
Everyone's been trying to guess what will happen since the newest trailer came out, so I thought that I could give it a shot too. I guess I'll start with the first scene. YMX and Vanitas are asking Sora about hearts other than his own. After they leave, he asks himself whether or not this is true. The fact that he asks himself that question is what's really important to this theory. It shows that he is unsure about who/what is really inside him. He's known about harboring multiple hearts in one person since he learned he did it in KH1 with Kairi. There's also a giant hole in his memory because of Namine. Thinking about it could be pretty disturbing. You've just defeated the big bad guy, see Pluto, and then go running after Pluto. Then a giant chunck of time is skipped and your in a different world, inside a giant pod thing, and get a really weird de ja vu feeling while walking around in town. Sora sees Namine at the end of KH2 and because of Jiminey's journal he knows she has something to do with his 1 year nap. Going back to the harboring hearts concept, wouldn't it make sense for Sora to think that a person with the ability to have multiple hearts within him would be usefull for people who have no hearts at all? The pods look like a big reseach facility. Knowing that Namine herself is a nobody, Sora may think she helped the Organization in order for them to study his multiple heart harboring ability. If Sora had said train of thought, it wouldn't be illogical to think that the Organization placed more inside him. This coupled with however much he may or may not remember about the scene with Ven's heart as well as Vanitas' two second appearance, could easily cause him to have doubts about how much he has really done of his own heart's will. The trailer even brings this up with the mysterious voice asking if the things that he felt were really what his original heart was feeling. We know that Roxas had a somewhat minor impact on Sora's emotions from the scene where Sora says goodbye to Hayner, Pence, and Olette. Furthermore, YMX tells Sora that what's most important to him will be swallowed up by memories. All of this could easily instill doubt in Sora's own abilities. This is interesting considering Sora's little "I am invincible!" outburst in the TGS trailer. This could mean 2 things. Either a. Sora's just telling himself this to cope with a minor inferiority complex he's had since childhood or b. he really believes it and everything that is mentioned above comes in and brutaly breaks that mentality. Either way, it still leads him to question what is his real strength without the assistance of others. Questioning one's strength would lead to the fear that he is not strong enough to defeat his enemies, and as Eraqus once said, fear leads to obsession with power, and obsession beckons the darkness. This dark Sora does seem to match with the falling Sora symbolism that Nomura seems intent to spread. Considering this whole thing seems to be what YMX wants Sora to think seeing that YMX is asking him these questions, I have to ask why. It's been evident that Xehanort is a master manipulator in all of his forms. MX was able to convince Terra that he was on Terra's side, and in many ways, Sora's more naive than Terra. Towards the end of the trailer, YMX asks Sora to come with him. This probably means that YMX is trying to use Sora in order to achieve some sort of goal. YMX mentions that he wants revenge but on who? Knowing that YMX is a time traveler might suggest that it is someone from one of Xehanort's many pasts. To answer this, I have to ask why he would use Sora. Thinking about it, it's probably because of Sora's unique talent with other's hearts. This leads me once again to the first line of the trailer, specifically, he asked if Sora had hearts within him too. Keyword:too which implies that YMX also has multiple hearts inside him. If YMX could figure out how Sora deals with multiple hearts, then perhaps he could deal with his own. I do not know on whom YMX wants to get revenge, but there is a plausible reason why he would need to quell the multiple hearts in him. One scene in the trailer shows MX, Ansem SoD, and Xemnas together but not YMX. If YMX used whatever he learned from Sora to silence what are most likely Terra's and possibly Eraqus' hearts, he could come back as the old MX we know and love.

KH3D Why does Xehanort still need Sora?
TheKHTheorist replied to lizzie1238's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
It could be Ansem's data. Ansem used his macine to try and code Kingdom Hearts into data. The data Sora has within him could possibly be related. -
KH3D Screenshot Discrepancy
TheKHTheorist replied to TheKHTheorist's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
I don't think so. The standout thing to me is that both pictures appear to be the exact same encounter, just a different times during that battle. The two Nightmares are the same as well as the two Spirits you have as companions. It seems that it's in the same area as well. The diminished health seems to be a sign that the first shot took place after the second shot during the battle. My questions is how did the drop bar change from decimals to a percentage. -
I was looking through the screenshots for KH3d when I found something interesting. In one screenshot, the drop meter has a percentage listed and not a decimal value. This is in contrast to the other screenshots where there are arrows instead of the dash (or possible negative sign?) in this screenshot. http://kh13.com/zenphoto/albums/screenshots/gamespot/dream-drop-distance/997779_20120104_screen042.jpg In this shot, the drop bar appears to be empty as well. Perhaps instead of switching characters when the meter gets to zero, there is another process that occurs instead. For comparison, here is a different screenshot that seems to be from the same encounter as the one above. http://kh13.com/zenphoto/albums/screenshots/gamespot/dream-drop-distance/997779_20120104_screen040.jpg The only difference that's noticeable is a slight difference in health, the command for the X button, and of course the drop bar. Maybe using the one command changed the number on the drop bar? I don't really know, but feel free to write what you all think it might mean.

It was confirmed in the Nomura interview that the pages were the sheet music from the Sorcerer's Apprentice animation that will be playing on the bottom screen at the same time.
-
Actually, in the recent magazine scans it says that Sora feels somewhat superior to Mickey in the Fantasia world.

The recent Nomura interview has revealed quite a bit about KH3d, but probably the biggest reveal was that the Mysterious Figure is Young Xehanort, as well as a time traveler. When this was revealed, it origionally did not make sense to me. I couldn't help but think "Why would Master Xehanort try to take contol of Terra's body if he could just manipulate the flow of time so that he would never age?" The only explanation I could think of was that the time travel was accidental or done by someone else. That got me into thinking about the flow of time in the RoD. Aqua has been there over a decade and she has barely aged a day. Also, the RoD seems seems to have an amnesiatic quality about it since Ansem the Wise lost his memory twice there. I think that the strange time flow in the RoD may account for the time travel. Xehanort did know about the RoD since he covers it in Xehanort's Report 5. He says that it is forbiden and that you would never return. Well, I figure that Xehanort's broken most of standard Keyblade Master rules, why wouldn't he break another? This brings me to another point, during the end of BBS, Terranort's guardian disintigrates and opens a portal into the RoD. My question is how. The guardian is something of a mystery. It looks like a heartless, but it is able to bond to a specific person. I theorize that Xehanort went into the RoD, and he met the guardian there. With the guardians help, he managed to manipulate the flow of time. He might have done this to satisfy his curiosity about his favorite old legend, the Keyblade War. The after effects of this endevor would have been hastened ageing. This could have sparked his obsesion of immortaliy. He wanted to go back but his body would not support the trip, so he wanted a new body. This as well as trying to recreate the conditions he descovered set off the Keyblade War in case he failed lead to BBS. The final fight includes the guardian, so it's safe to assume that Terranort/Aprentice Xehanort has at least some contol over it. When AX hid is expiriments in the basement, the guardian could have used that darkness as a catalyst to open a portal into the RoD and release the heartless. After that, pretty much the rest of the series happens, and Xehanort is revived as AX but this time with a full set of memories. He wakes up in Hollow Bastion's castle and tries to escape but ends up having to strike down Even, Ienzo, and Braig. Frustrated by our heros meddling, AX summons the guardian and goes back in time to BBS to find an ally, Vanitas. I believe that the fight with TAV was not cannon, but I did read somewhere that MF got some sort of data on Ven. This allows him to eventually find Vanitas Sentiment. He reanimates Vanitas Sentiment using the pure darkeness that's in the RoD and jumps back to the present only to find that instead of being aged, he had actually become a younger version of his origional self. Then he and Vanitas go to deafeat our two hero's in the RoS.

I don't think so. The trailer said that mickey knew Sora was from another world and was pretending to be a musketeer. It also said that he was being a musketeer for something. What it did not say was that he was from another world and trying to be a musketeer, although Sora asks himself the same question. Personally, I think he was trying to earn his way to a courtship with Queen Minnie. It apparently worked seeing as he is King and all now. He also might found out about the outside worlds and the Keyblade through the whole Timeless River adventure. He may even remember Sora possibly. This whole world may have inspired him to go out and learn about the other worlds in the first place.

KHBbS Is Ventus from Destiny Island?
TheKHTheorist replied to wayfinder823's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
I highly doubt it. The Xehanort reports imply that he did not go back to Destiny Islands till he dropped off Ven at the beggining of the game because of the remark about time standing still on the islands. Not to mention, Xehanort is significantly older than Ven, and he left the islands as a teen/young adult. So there would either be two kids who left or just the one that we already know of. -
The reason I said it could be Namine's sketches is because they symbolically bind all of the characters to each other. They are representative of the actual chain of memories that binds them all together. At least, that's how I consider them. It could very well be the Ansem Reports and Jiminy's Journal, but Namine's sketches seem to match the on screen content around it better. To me, this makes more sense in terms of how the characters transition between each other.
-
They could also be the sketches from Namine's notebook.

One thing that has always bugged me about Sora is that the time he is a heartless has very little influence on his overall character. The only time they bring it up is when they are refering to Roxas. You would think that being a being of darkness would have a profound effect on ones emotions and heart. While you could argue that CoM had Sora as a slightly darker character, I'm more inclined to think Namine messing around in his head would have caused the change, and besides the development that Sora got in CoM is almost a moot point since he forgot it all. However, there was one manifestation that the darkness seemed to take in KH2, Anti-Form. Because Drive Forms are, at least partially, cannon, Anti-Form should be as well. I find it interesting that the manifestation of Sora's darkness started to appear a year after he became a heartless and not immediatly, especially when you consider that his body (and possibly Ven's heart) was running around completly separate from him as Roxas. The only explanation I can think of is that Kairi's shell of light that Sora used may have at least somewhat suppressed that darkness. Now that Sora no longer has that shell, it makes more sense (at least to me) of Anti-Form's existance. This could be extremely important for KH3D. We know that KH3D deals with Sora's data. Theoretically, the darkness could find that data to manifest itself as different people from past games, so yea it basically means that all of the apearences of previous characters (outside of the pre-rendered opening parts and Lea, Ienzo, and Aeolus since I believe that's outside of the RoS) are illusions brought on by Sora's (and possibly Riku's) individual darkness and the data. It does explain how Vanitas poped out of seemingly nowhere at the end of the trailer. I believe that the relationship between the light and the darkness in the RoS might be like the relationship between Nightmares and Spirits. They exist to oppose each other yet are still two parts of the same whole. This may mean that the indiviual light may use the data to manifest itself as other characters as well. I think it would be intersting if we could see how they deal with it differently. Sora's never had to deal with it much and Riku probably thinks the problems been mostly solved

KH3D New Scans= Theory Time (With Minor TWEWY Spoilers)
TheKHTheorist replied to TheKHTheorist's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Okay! Well, three new scans have surfaced a little less than a month after I wrote the theory above, so to keep from repeating myself for anyone who read the origional theory, I decided to simply update the one already written with the information from the new scans. I actually debated whether or not to simply wait after Jump Festa is over, but I figure I can always update a theory similarly to what I'm doing now. Anyway onward to the theory. The new world that is announced is a Three Musketeers world. Now building on the theory above, I believe that this is a recreation of the current Disney Castles memories, but what's interesting is that the "sleeping worlds" are not necissarily the ones that were in the realm of darkness. In the GameInformer article, it stated that "Sora and Riku must save several Disney-themed worlds from a sleep stasis". Now the question is what is a sleep status, and what happens when that world is "awakend". Before the anouncement, it was thought that the worlds would resurface in the "awake" realm of light, or at least that was my thought process. Now that one of the sleeping worlds in a world that's already in the realm of light (a very important world at that), how can it be awakeded? This leads me back to memories. Disney Castle has gone through multiple iterations or world identities as I'll reffer to it here. For instance both Timeless River and Disney Town would be world identities for the current Disney Castle. However, when Sora, Donald, and Goofy go back to the Timeless River, they do not figure out that it's Disney Castle in the past for a really long time. This implies that they don't remember much, if anything, about that world identity. This could be how the worlds are "sleeping". If Country of the Musketeers was a separate world identity, it might not be remebered by the people who were there and therefore be "asleep". You could say the same thing about Traverse Town as well. With that big Coloseum that they have, Traverse Town might have had an Olympus Coloseum esque identity once if Olympus Coloseum had about two tons of neon covering it. When these world worlds are awakend, they would be remembered by residents of that world. A cool possibility that I think would work would be with Hollow Bastion because it already had another identity, Radient Garden. If this theory comes true then Sora and Riku could be running around the Apprentice Xehanort time phrame in Radient Garden. This might explain the one scene at the end on the trailer from TGS. Another option would be Castle Oblivion in it's Land of Departure form. There could be infinite possibilities if that happened especially since 3d deals with Sora's data. -Sidenote- In the scans, it shows a boat sailing on whater. It also shows Sora, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy on a boat. The only place we know of that has ever had water was the Timeless River, so that might be what they are sailing down on in the game. What's strange is that the boat is a classic sailed ship. In Timeless River, the boat they used was a steam ship. Either Country of the Musketeers is before Timeless River, or society in that world progresses and regresses in really strange ways. -
With the new scans that have been released, I think there are a couple of details that are worth noting in a new theory. The biggest basis for this theory is that both Pinnochio and Jimmeny Criket are seen with both Sora and Riku. Why does that matter? Because both those characters have already met Sora and Riku. There is one scan where Pinnochio is talking to Riku, but Riku looks absolutely ashamed of himself. I believe Riku is remembering how badly he treated Pinnochio in KH1. Pinnochio himself isn't the least bit phased by Riku in the scan. This leads me to believe that Pinnochio either doesn't remeber or hasn't expirianced the events in KH1. Well, if the worlds are supposed to be submerged in sleep, then why are there characters present that we already know aren't there? I eventually came to the conclusion that if worlds had hearts, theoreticaly they could have memories as well. Since sleep and dreams are directly connected to memories, the worlds they traverse could literally the memories of the worlds themselves. Or, at least, artificial recreations of those memories. Now, how this fits in with Neku... to be honest I'm not entirely sure. My best guess is that since he has the pin for mind reading, he could theoretically enter the mind/memories of a person/world and influence his/it's dreams. Since Neku already knows both who Sora is and what the Dream Eaters are in the trailer, I suppose Neku could be tasked with a mission to help Sora through his dreams or do something in the world for the Game. We already know that Neku had some sort of mission when he first met Sora because he had the timer on his hand. Now that I think about it, this is really two theories not one but oh well.

With the new gameplay released from the Nintendo press conference, it seems we have heard a small part of this game's version of dearly beloved. It is played during the scene where dream eater is bouncing down the stairs. This game's version of dearly beloved seemes to be only bells and other mallet instruments instead of piano. I personally like this new version. I think it's a good contrast to all of the other dearly beloveds. It's probably too early to judge, but I like what I've heard so far.

KHBbS Yes, it's another Mysterious Figure theory.
TheKHTheorist replied to TheKHTheorist's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Ha! If you would kindly go to the Kingdom Hearts 2 cutscene archive and watch the all of the window of time cutscenes, it clearly shows that malificent did not create that portal. It appeared seemingly out of nowhere at the perfect time, when Pete was complaining he wanted to go back to the good old days, and then he brought the portal to Malificent's attention. Malificent may have come up with the cornerstone of light scheme, but she did not make that portal. -
Ok everybody seems to have a theory on this guy so I'm to throw my two cents in and see how it fares. To start off, I do think Mysterious Figure is a time traveler. The moves he uses and the keyblade you get just screem time travel to me. With that out of the way, I'll start the actual theory. I think MF is the one who sent Pete the portal to the past in KH2. The timing of that portal was way too perfect for that to be a coincidence. Why would MF send Pete to the past? To keep Mickey from ever leaving Disney Castle/Disney Town/Timeless River/Whatever else you want to call this world. I think that either during BBS or some time after when the king flew around in his gummi ship he encountered whatever world MF lived on, and did something to seriously mess up MF's current life there. What's more, I also think that MF might have studied under (or maybe trained?) Merlin because the only person we know who can open up a portal like that is Merlin. MF also uses a variety of advanced spells that Merlin teaches you which only strengthens his connection to me. Plus, going back to the whole Pete getting sent back in time thing, doesn't the symbol on the portal look like a knights crest? It has a capital P, a fist, and something that looks similar to separatable ethereal blades with the loops behind it looking like it could be the bright whip attack MF uses. I know this theory is a little light on proof, but I still would like to know your opinions.

KH3D Could KH3d work with DLC?
TheKHTheorist replied to TheKHTheorist's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
I do know the difference. It really doesn't matter too much for the purpose of this topic if I say remake or rerelease. The point I was trying to make was understood. -
With the announcement that paid downloadable content is coming to the 3ds, I think that DLC is actualy very possable for KH3d. There could be bosses and even an extra world. Kingdom Hearts is a franchise that remakes games A LOT. Perhaps with DLC there wouldn't be a need to make a Final Mix or something like that.
