Sora wielding three keyblades
ssceles replied to Veemon's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
Hello, thanks for stating that my opinion, clearly stated to be an opinion while posting, is wrong. In the past, many things with canonical evidence have been proven wrong, especially when characters in-game believe them to be true. I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to take your response one line at a time. “Sora has his own keyblade since the end of KH1 when it chose to stay with him.” As stated in my original post, I think Xehanort thinks otherwise by calling him a "dull, ordinary boy". I'm not unaware that the bequeathing ceremony has revealed in interviews to be vague, to the point of even happening unintentionally. I had hopes that only a Keyblade Master who had full knowledge and intentions of wanting to pass on the blade could do such a thing. You might believe me to say things like "perhaps my hope is true afterall because Master Xehanort considered Terra a Master and that was enough and at no other point, other than the current topic of Sora and Riku, has there been any non-Master give someone a Keyblade" but please understand that I understand that I don't have evidence of this. But on the same grounds, Captain Jack Sparrow could be the proud owner of Keyblade, because Sora, as a non-Master, jokingly told him to take his blade and that he could have it. Intention is at least important, if not also Mastery, and so I don't actually believe this, either. It is what it is. I'm aware of the interviews. I believe Master Xehanort knows something we don't. It's alright to tell me that's wrong, because that would be yet to be seen - much like the premise of this thread, Sora's ability to tri-wield as a common occurance, but there's no reason to be handing interview quotes at me. “He dual wields with Ven's.” I already said that? “Riku's keyblade in KH1 became officially Sora's in the end when it chose Sora to stay.( refer to interview below on why Sora wields)” Thanks, but I quoted referenced that exact interview, and if you were to actually read more than the first sentence of the answer, it is specifically stated he "temporarily" obtained the Keyblade from Riku because, according to the next question, had the right qualities. Strange, that word being used, temporarily. Such wording is exactly one of the reasons I'm not so firm that Sora’s Keyblade is even Sora’s. “Riku later on got his own separate keyblade using Soul Eater as a base.” Obvious and irrelevant. “Xion's keyblade was a replica and Roxas wielded Sora's and Ven's.” Also irrelevant. I don’t particularly agree when people chime in to say Xion’s Keyblade is the third one Sora could wield during the Roxas fight, and my counter argument was that while people often include hers, why ignore Vanitas? I see you also ignore Vanitas. Do you believe he has the potential to wield Vanitas as readily as Ven's? It's yet to be seen. “Xion "made" Roxas throw that keyblade hoping Riku would stop Roxas.” Are you getting that because one interview says that Riku noticed Roxas had the real Keyblade that he, you know, gave Sora? Because that’s what all it says, that Riku sensed it, and I don’t think Xion helped him do that. Nothing in the interview even remotely says that Xion made Roxas do anything. There were some pretty flashbacks during the fight itself, as I recall, for the pleasure of the audience only, and not re-heard by anyone. I could argue that Xion had no control over the fight and that no one remembered her at that point already. “Wielders can and do use other wielders keyblades as seen plenty of times in this series” Have we ever seen a wielder user another wielder’s Keyblade against them OTHER than when Riku took his Keyblade back from Sora? He didn’t get to keep it because he no longer had those ‘right qualities’ - and you’re going to hate me for assuming things, but I am to believe these are the terms at which he acquired it - to protect the things that matter. Attacking your friends outright, angrily, isn’t protecting anyone. Of course Riku couldn’t keep it. The first half of my post wasn’t even understood to be a theory-only, despite clearly stating it was what I personally thought, so, I’m not surprised the second half wasn’t understood. -
Sora wielding three keyblades
ssceles replied to Veemon's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
I (personally) think (the Sora vs Roxas battle aside) the only Keyblades Sora utilizes are Ven's and Riku's. Let me clarify: Sora only has a Keyblade in KH1 because Riku gave him his (interview question #14), and Roxas' Keyblade is really just Ven's. I suspect Sora is called a "dull ordinary boy" because Xehanort can tell he just doesn't actually have a blade of his own at all, and is simply constantly borrowing a Keyblade. Riku was always capable of taking it back, and when Roxas attempted to fight him with "Sora's" blade "from" Xion, he was really just using Riku's blade against him, and Riku took that blade back. If it wasn't Riku's to wield, surely he wouldn't have been able to raise it against Roxas if Keyblades are so quick to return to the hands of their owners. That said, if you're going chime in with "Xion's" blade, then I'm going to chime in with Vanitas, who you can't truly say is "dead" after seeing his visage in Dream Drop Distance. Plus, we can all agree by now that Sora deserves his own, and Xehanort might be entirely wrong about being ordinary afterall, making a grand total of five Keyblades in his total arsenal. Or, six, if you want to also claim Roxas has a separate blade from Ventus. -
ChiUnion on Tumblr has created a spreadsheet with challenge mission objectives, so go ahead and check that out, for future reference! (It's incomplete thus far, but eventually you begin to memorize a pattern to these things - use X Keyblade, kill a X, use no continues, etc.)

KHUX Kingdom hearts Unchained chi Medals so far
ssceles replied to Kingdomkey_n_n's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Chiunion is working on a spreadsheet of the medals, if anyone wants to check that out. While the spreadsheet doesn't display images, it does tell you whether a medal is single or multi shot, how much AP it costs, and what it's base multiplier is at every star rank. The list of special abilities is incomplete, but it's being worked on. The second tab (find it at the bottom of the page) gives some fun math about which medals are the most effective overall against single and multiple targets, and which ones just have the best boosts in general. -
Moogle Event Missions happen (almost consistently) every day from 10PM to 11PM EST and 2AM to 3AM EST (these being New York time). I have seen some days where they didn't appear, oddly enough. Unfortunately, the contents of chests seems randomized, if you're going after a particular item. The best thing to do would be to replay and keep track of all missions that have the blue and purple chests.

And, importantly, for the next little while (until maintenance on Thursday, October 1st) all materials gathered in the field will give you more materials than usual, and, all materials will respawn in 30 minutes. This is especially nice, considering some materials usually take several hours to return.

Right now, my fully installed game takes up 788MB. You'll need at least that much room, but updates may continue to take up additional space.

KHUX is actually a lot of fun!

Yet they're listed down for three "unannounced" titles that are going to be livestreamed. . . .? Either they're lying, something was lost in translation, or we better be getting TWEWY and FF7 news.

KHDays [Spoiler]Would it Have Made Better Sense If....
ssceles replied to lostmemory123's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Nah, it wouldn't have made any sense with Kairi. It all comes down to understanding Xemnas' plan in the first place, though. He never wanted to recreate Kairi. If she'd been created post-Castle Oblivion it might have worked from a 'oh well maybe he's trying to replace Namine' standpoint, but that was never the case. Xion was specifically created to harness the power of Sora's Keyblade. Due to repeating complications, it was easier in the end for their to only be one of them. Xemnas didn't need both Roxas and Sora's replica. While Xemnas liked the idea of two, and had hoped for it, it was clear to see one would never survive. He'd had his last straw with Xion, so either she was going to fight Roxas to prove herself and take his place, or that was the end of her. She was placed in a position where she was going to die no matter what. Rather than immediate death at Xemnas' hands, she opted to face Roxas as a warrior instead - the most honorable way to go, given the situation - she was near the peak of her strength because of how much she'd absorbed from him via Sora's memories. She was literally becoming Sora - it was what she was made for!Inevitably, it would have made more sense if she'd simply won that fight. Afterall, she was stronger. She threw the fight! She just really wanted to see Roxas one last time and give him a chance to run. But from the very start, she was being watched. I'm pretty sure whatever 'devices' Xemnas had Saix equip to her would lead to her self-destruction if she'd tried to escape again or waited too long to eliminate Roxas. -
If by 'recently' you mean in the last six months, then yes. I own four t-shirts, a hoodie, two necklaces, a plushie, two keychains, a bracelet, a watch.... this doesn't even begin to include fan made merch like decals, prints, posters, doujinshi... or the games themselves. My most recent thing was a gift, however... earrings. They're fan made/on etsy. o3o One heart, one heartless symbol.

When do you think Kingdom Hearts III will be released?
ssceles replied to Sora96's topic in Poll of the Week
Birth by Sleep took three years, but most of their titles are released within a year of their announcement. Then again, most of these titles have been for handhelds and aren't large numbered titles with a lot expected of them.I expect the KH2 reMIX by 2014 spring JP/fall NA, (with 2013 fall JP/2014 spring NA being the absolute earliest - and it seems unreasonable, honestly). We'll probably end up with a larger trailer for KH3 at Jump Festa later this year and a full six or seven minute one (as for previous large releases) at E3 next year - with fall 2014 Japan being the absolute earliest launch - but that'd be almost ludicrously fast. They want people to have time to play the KH2 ReMIX and get caught up.So I'm going with a good bet of spring 2015 JP/fall 2015 NA for KH3....... else they take their time and it goes for a fall 2015 JP/2016 spring for NA. This series is notorious for fall/spring and spring/fall releases, it follows a very strict pattern few exceptions - and it's usually spring/fall. -
Sony's Press Conference - General Discussion
ssceles replied to DChiuch's topic in General Discussion
With Versus XIII first being announced at E3 2006... I'll be impressed to see it again. Crisis Core was also announced at E3 2006. Later that year, TWEWY and KH2FM were also announced at TGS. At E3 2007, Dissidia was announced. 358/2 Days was announced alongside Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts coded at the Tokyo Game Show on September 20, 2007.It was a very surreal time, to have so many awesome Square games announced to us at once in both 2006 and 2007. In a single year, we were announced nearly ten games. So what happened?Crisis Core came out in in 2007 in Japan, a year after its first trailer.Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix+ came out a year later in 2007, but given that it was a remaster, only the fact that it included re:Chain of Memories makes this significant.TWEWY came out in 2007 in Japan, a year after it's announcement.Dissidia came out in 2008 in Japan, a year after it's announcement.Kingdom Hearts coded (the cell version of the later re:Coded) released it's arcs throughout 2009, but the initial install was in 2008, just a year after it's announcement. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days came out in 2009, two years after it's initial trailer. Before Birth by Sleep could even come out, it was announced Coded would be re-released on the 3DS as re:Coded.Birth by Sleep was released in 2010, three years after it's initial trailer. And we felt this was a long time.re:Coded came out later that same year. While above I listed the games Nomura was directly involved in, I didn't include any of the other Final Fantasy titles. Since Crisis Core we've had Fables, Tactics, the remake of IV, Crystal Chronicles, Chocobo Racing, Final Fantasy XIII, XIV, Dissidia 012, another port of IV, Type-0, XIII-2, a Windows port of FFVII......and not to mention Dream Drop Distance.I strongly, strongly, feel that Versus XIII is deader than dead. As beautiful as those initial trailers were, it's as lifeless as the FFVII teaser with PS3 graphics (that we had hoped meant we'd get an actual VII remake). So, in conclusion... why does the media still think Versus XIII has a chance? -
So Yahoo just bought Tumblr... =| Let me tell you, I still miss my GeoCities webpage. Why couldn't they have just relaunched THAT instead of buying something they clearly don't comprehend?

If teaching Religion isnt allowed in puplic schools then why are....
ssceles replied to Joker's topic in General Discussion
Probably because to accept that beginning you have to accept the entire thing. The problem there is, the entire Christian, Catholic and Morman First Testament is literally the same in full to both the Islamic Qu'ran and the Jewish Torah. So... which should we be teaching, since they're all identical, word for word, with that creation story? What if I can agree that the Big Bang happened, but disagree on when and how fast it happened, and just say that God caused it? It's not really that hard. erWhat we're left with is the best excuse we can muster, because people can accept parts of those scientific theories without needing to believe the full thing, either. We've literally seen evolution in action with the domestication of dogs. We kind of created the Pomeranian and the Chihuahua, you know? You could easily just say that's how God made all of things, over time. In the beginning, there were just a lot less things. We don't have to believe we came from monkeys, we don't have to believe in ridiculous extremes, to accept things change over time and adapt to their surroundings. Things we're taught in school are mostly left to compliment what religion is already handing us, regardless of which particular offshoot it is.* edit *Not that I wouldn't like to see a school system where we're taught religion that isn't strictly one specific telling. As I stated above, those religions all have the same root, and the same God, even if by a different word, considering the difference in language. Wouldn't it be interesting to be taught the stories all Abrahamic religions have in elementary school, have all the values they share enforced on us in middle school, and be left to study and choose what we believe after that in the same way we choose electives (hmm... art... or band....... video production? sweet!)?The problem there is, none of the above religions get along very well on a group level, even if individuals can be friends. Christians are bothered by the Catholic over-representation of Mary and the Pope, Jews are bothered by the idea of Christ in general, and the Muslims have a completely different prophet. Then we have the Mormans, who believed ancient Jews sailed to America and were greeted by Christ during his three day death period. I'm sure there are lots of tiny little sects with even more additional details. I'd love to learn them all and take them with a grain of salt, but you're not allowed to be all of the above. That's not cool with any of them.So we keep religion out of school mostly to keep from starting the next world war over a playground vendetta against two nine year olds with different beliefs stemming from the same origin story. -
KH2 Kingdom Hearts II Manga Volume 6 cover
ssceles replied to Weiss's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
I'm very curious as to why he's on the cover when he has such a near nonexistent role in KH2... perhaps flashbacks? -
I dunno what the plan is. He's actually better at traditional art than some of the volunteers, so I wish he'd get more of his own ideas out there so I knew what -he- wanted, specifically, too. I'm still here, and I can redraw and present things in a more polished way, but... even from the beginning, I had no interest in the project at an intimate level (I was asked into this because I'm clearly an artist, but I do paid work and that always comes first - and I have my own game I'm working on, unrelated to KH). I've never been the sort of fan to make fandom OCs for myself, and I don't have time in my schedule to pour my heart into designs and concepts right now. =/My schedule is opening back up soon, so... I'll keep my eyes open if I'm needed.
-
So... how are there Emblem Heartless during KHχ if it's supposed to take place during the Keyblade War if they weren't created yet? Unless Xehanort teleported himself to the past with a troupe of them and they started multiplying... I smell continuity disaster.

I got a shiny Rattata without cheating. @w@ Right after I restarted Leaf Green I think. I decided to keep playing, but I think I later ported it up to the DS generation through the... safari park...? My memory is fuzzy.
